This book provided good grounding information that I was able to use in my first wedding that I shot.

It has good sample shots and provides some informaation on album design and layout. Starting the business and getting your services onto the web.

Slighly interesting with some useful info

This books offers an interesting and useful approach to people photography. There's some useful information which is to make you realise that relaxing a person and making them feel at ease is just as important as any technical ability. Overall I felt the main points in this book are thrashed out in a few pages(relax your subject, use natural light as much as possible, be prepared and have the right gear) with the rest just showing her nice colour and black and white film photos.

Like some others I didn't agree with her emphasis on makeup and the pages devoted to it. Fine if that's your things but it doesn't need this much emphasis. More relevant info could have put here.

All the photos to me seem to be on film(Fuji Provia and Neopan) and there's no reference to digital. One minor complaint with the book is her talking of using real people but it's clear that one rather good looking couple seem more like models to me - never appearing in any real wedding setting.

Buy this book if you've never seriously taken photos of children, families, couples, weddings, etc and are looking for a useful and helpful approach to it. Annabel Williams has spent years doing this and knows what she's talking about. Don't buy this book expecting lots of technical info.

More of a glorified portfolio

This is a good book if you are looking to add a little high fashion and contemporary look to your photographs and are unsure about the subtleties of a photo shoot (how to relax your clients, pose, etc.). I am not a wedding photographer, as I mainly deal with children. I found her photographs somewhat inspiring. I am not a fan of cross processing film nor am I a fan of high speed black/white film. I found Williams' adherance to Provia 400 cross processed and Neopan 1600 limiting. I would have liked to have seen more range. I agree wholeheartedly with her preference for shooting in available light, hence the high speed film. If you're looking for a technical approach, you are not going to get it here. Overall, good book. There is nothing about digital here (just thought I would add that in case that is what you are looking for).

The author comes at this subject from a slightly different perspective from many of the books out there. Its a very refreshing book, well written, LOTS of samples of her work. The book is printed on high grade stock, and the many photographs in this book look great. She discusses things many other photographers never talk about. For example, very fun to read about makeup design. Also, she has no bias for or against any one type of camera or gear, and seems to use gear and talk about gear based on what it does for her.

This book had numerous photographic examples in it to go along with the text. When I first received this book and flipped through it I felt like maybe there wasn't enough text in it to go along with the photos. However, once I started reading the book I found that there was actually quite a lot of good information about taking photographs of people in different situations. The only part of the book that I found a little bit superfluous was the chapter where makeup was applied to a model step by step before doing a photo shoot. While I agree with the author that makeup and hairstyle can make a person feel more confident about themself during a photo shoot, I would have preferred it if those pages had been devoted to information that was more directly related to photography.

This is one of the best books to study Greek architecture - not only architecture of temples but also other buildings. Good for archaeologists as well as for architects.

for any serious student of classical antiquity, lawrence's treatment of greek architecture is a must-read. it is a elegantly illustrated volume, full of plans, drawings and photographs. the text is well-written and easy to understand, even for a beginner to the field. I whole-heartedly recommend this volume to anyone who wants to have a look at greek architecture, beginner as well as expert. lawrence's book is nothing but brilliant. it is THE entryway into greek architecture.
