Little Bear is a favorite TV show for some of my grandchildren. This CD lets them enjoy the stories when they are in the car, or just to listen to the CD at bedtime. The reader has a wonderful voice and it is very soothing and relaxing to fall asleep while listening. I recommend this CD for children from ages 3 to 10.

I wanted to love this!
I like the Little Bear books and I like Sigourney Weaver. I don't know that I like them together. She just doesn't convey the sweetness of the characters with her generally flat delivery.
I found the new age-y music distracting, too.
My daughter likes this, but I'd rather not be in the same room again while she listens to it. We've just listened to it twice, so I can't predict how well it will maintain her interest after repeated listenings (the Frances CD by Glynis Johns certainly has!). So, it's ok for Little Bear fans, but who knows how appealing this would be if she didn't already love the stories.

I just finished reading Wicked at 3:50am 29 Aug 08.
This book is not my normal read. The style was much darker than I had thought it would be. In the first 80 or so pages, I could not believe how bad the book was. But as I read on I fell in love with the Wicked Witch of the West. While the book describes her as unattractive, I see her as the most beautiful creature in OZ. I wanted to cry when it ended even though we all know how it ends. I think it would hurt to much to read this again but still a must read.

The book was in decent condition upon arrival. The book itself is worth the read, I enjoyed seeing the land of Oz through the prepective of the Elpahba (the wicked witch). Gregory Maguire has become one of my favorite arthors and I am now unable to put his books down.

This book offers a peculiar mix of philosophical blather and burlesque comedy. I give it one star because the writing is good enough to draw you in but then leaves you high and dry. The other star is earned by the characters of Nanny and Amah Clutch (I'm not sure about the spelling of Amah Clutch as I listened to this book).

I wish I would have said that to this book. I rue the day I spent the money to buy it and most of all I rue the time I wasted trying to read it.
I was so excited at the concept of the book and 110% ready to love it. I was incredibly disappointed that I couldn't even like it a little. It was boring and disjointed and did not hold my attention at all. It was actually painful to read.
Reminds me of a quote from the Wizard of Oz:
'You are talking to a man who has laughed in the face of death, sneered at doom and chuckled at catastrophe.' I think the Wizard said that about time spent reading 'Wicked'.

I couldn't wait to pick up "Wicked" because I've heard all the incredible things said about it and how it is such a cornerstone in literary history. Then I read a lot of mixed reviews on this web site and was a little shocked. I thought this was supposed to be this perfect read. Turns out it isn't.
I think this is a brilliant concept but ultimately not the easiest read in the world, and a lot of political symbolism, which, if you are a reader that enjoys that sort of thing then you could change my three stars to five. I, on the other hand, am not. I don't really know what I was expecting but I don't think it was what I got.
I think the concept behind "Wicked" is brilliant and I really enjoyed the description and characters I think it could have been done just as well in 100 less pages, however.

Great messages but very distracting music

I am a HUGE fan of Louise Hay and her teachings, and I have quite a few of her CDs, my favorite being "Overcoming Fears." There is something so soothing about that CD, even though the music is a bit dated and has that 80s New Age sound, but it works. For me anyway.
That's the great frustration I'm experiencing with this CD for Personal Healing. The music is a synthesized piano and it sounds so harsh and tinny at times. It's actually intrusvie and is in great contrast to Louise's gentle, loving voice. I have tried again and again to work with this CD, and while I LOVE Louise's messages, I really have to work to get past the irritating music, which just sets me on edge. It's very frustrating because I'd really like to be in harmony with the brilliant ideas and affirmations, but the music is not in harmony with the spoken artist. It does not accompany or support Louise. It is a distraction and almost feels like the musician is fighting to wrest focus from her, and that's very difficult to listen to. I hate to say it but I would not recommend this CD.

This is fantastic! Each of the meditations is beautiful and only 5 to 7 minutes long (there are about 13, covering all different topics from prosperity to relaxation to healing your body, etc.). The one about discovering your inner child makes me cry (I am not the kind to easily break down, but it truly is beautiful). I sometimes just put this in when I am driving and listening to Louise's soothing voice calms me right down. You will feel so much love in your heart when you're done listening.

In my opinion, everything that Louise Hay has written has been wonderful. Her very simplistic and down to earth writing really works for me. Since 1988, I have read Louise's books and listened to her tapes and CD's. When I first listened to this CD, I was amazed at how much it works for me and how soothing Louise's voice is! This CD gives you practical help in everyday WELLNESS and HEALTH and HEALING. And because I feel that Louise Hays teachings, CD's and books really work for me, I own 14 of them! And This CD really works for me and I have it to use when needed. Thanks Louise!

I really like Louise Hay and think these meditations are great. But there are two things that make it difficult for me to listen to this on a regular basis.
First, the electronic music is very difficult to listen to and ignore so it's hard to get past that. I wish Louise would re-record this with more pleasant, non-electronic music.
Second, there are several five-minute meditations; but the CD is only broken down into two tracks so it's difficult to just listen to a few of my favorite meditations. It would have been so much nicer to have each meditation be a track of its own.

When I first bought this cassette 2 years ago, I put it on softly on my reversible cassette player to listen throughout the night. For about a week I woke up with "dunes" of sand in my eyes so I must have been crying a lot in my sleep. Louise has an incredibly warm, comforting voice and she obviously knows a lot about psychology, which she applies to wonderful effect in a very loving way. The first meditation is called Your Healing Light, and it's just her voice with piano and a bit of synth. It's a perfect intro and I have subsequently been using it as a soundtrack for when I give reiki healing treatments. The meditations follow one another like golden sonic waves, all of them addressing some vital issue or another. Many of the beautiful phrases have stuck in my mind, like "there's a part of you that is more than your past, more than your relationships and more than your personality ..." and "I move from success to success, from joy to joy and from abundance to abundance" and "I am open and receptive to all good." This tape also taught me how to forgive people that I did not want to forgive or did not know how. After about 2 weeks I experienced a dramatic improvement in my outlook on life. I have subsequently moved on to far more technologically advanced cassettes (Eldon Taylor & Paul Scheele) but for sheer human warmth and understanding, nobody comes close to Louise Hay. I would strongly recommend this cassette to anybody who has been abused in any way or who is depressed or feels helpless. It is uncanny, but I think there a type of vibration emanating from this cassette, which is more than the sum total of her voice and her words.

This CD was recommended to me and I have heard good things about Dr. Weil, but I have to say the CD's were a let down. The lecture was too long and i thought it would have been better to simply be text. The actual breathing exercises were not that inspiring and quite short. Although it was instructional to go through the breathing exercises along with the CD it would have been better if that part was expanded.

Honestly, the title of my review wasn't originally intended to be funny. I came on Amazon to look up the publishing date for a footnote/bibliography reference for this book. I now have spent too much time reading reviews on diet books and updating my other reviews on movies and phones to do this review justice.
But if you're looking it up, you don't want a long review anyway. It is the best book in the world for someone with ADD, thinks they might have ADD or someone who has to live with a person with ADD.
BUY IT NOW!! Before you get distracted.

This is an excellent book for the person who has not heard of ADHD until recently, particularly for the adult who has been unknowingly suffering its effects. But I was an adolescent when ADHD first became widely recognized and diagnosed, and I grew up with friends and family members who were diagnosed and treated for their ADHD, at a time when "You mean I'm not crazy, stupid or lazy?" was sort of a joke catchphrase in the high school hallways. This book presumes that, by the time you read it, your ADHD or that of your child has already gone unrecognized for a number of years and caused personal and academic problems. As such, it doesn't really speak to the reality of modern day parents who have known about ADHD from the time our children were born and are now struggling to diagnose and treat the disorder BEFORE it disrupts our children's lives. In addition, the information on medication is very out of date, as many advances have occurred in the 15 years since the book was written.

I am an MD and knew for years I did not think like other people-in fact it was extremely difficult to think at all. Getting through med school was tough; I studied constantly and would read and re-read the weighty textbooks; still only "average" among my classmates, after a stellar (and very structured) high school and college performance.
Every page of this book had an "aha" moment for me, brought me to tears numerous times when I saw how comparable my suffering was with the Hallowell patients. Knowledge of this malady alone has helped tremendously.

I also do not recommend the CD if you are going to be using it as a car audio. CDs can't just stop, be ejected so you can listen to something else, and put back in like a tape can.

This is truly an excellent audio which has been worth many times its price to me. I have listened to it literally hundreds if not thousands of times over the last twenty years and it has helped me in my life to be successful in a variety of positions, through career transitions, etc.
In this tape, Zig Ziglar uses stories, reasearch nuggets and powerful metaphors to drive home his points in an extremely powerful way. He is very present when he speaks and the tape is not only informative, it is funny and entertaining.
This is a perfect tape to listen to over and over again while you are commuting. This is how I used it for many years. As a personal growth coach who does a large amount of public speaking, workshops and one-on-one coaching -- I feel I am in a good position to judge the merit of what is out there.
Zig is a Christian and this might not go over well with some audiences. However, he doesn't push this agenda, but he does at different points use some illustrations that come from the bible. For example, in one section he quotes the bible about money saying, "he who seeks silver, will never be satisfied with silver" and goes on to explain how you can never have enough money, UNLESS the money has you. I think that's a very wise statement and it's not money itself that is bad, but how you use it. The point he seems to be making is that are you a good steward of your money, which I think it a relevant point that requires guts to make in the current business environment. In fact, I would suggest it's an essential point.
Cognitively, I probably knew most of what was in this audio. However, I know it differently now at a deeper level because of using it. This tape is done in such a way that the ideas sink in deeply and become a part of you. I can't recommend it highly enough.
Also, in addition to working in psychology, I was also a marketing person for Xerox when they were Fortune 25. I went through their International Center for Management Development and won their Team Xerox Spirt Award. The point of me sharing this is that I know what it takes to train sales and marketing people and I recognize a good and practical resource when I come across it. I don't think you can go wrong with this audio, especially at the price they are offering it at.
I forgot I read this book until I saw it on my list. The teachings are memorable and I am still using them on a daily basis. I am also still giving people advice from this book. Excellent for managers and supervisors. I was making many common mistakes and this book helped put me in the right direction. It is rare for me to remember the in-depth content of books, but this one is well written and has helped me greatly.
The first half is a must-read.

The first half of this book was excellent. Part I was titled "Work on me first". Under it was Chapter 2 "Master my stories: How to get your head right before opening your mouth". It talks about the stories we tell ourselves to explain what is happening around us. These stories can have a profound influence on your life. Negative stories tend to become self fulfilling prophesies. I'd heard about these stories in a talk. The speaker asked us not to share what we had learned. So I was pleased to see it in another source. The second half of the book I suspect was written by another author. Perhaps if I'd been practicing their suggestions it wouldn't have felt like formula writing. That said, I would still recommend this book to anyone who feels uncomfortable confronting people around them even when it is necessary.

This book is insane!
If you are a believer in Biblical Prophecy to the point of being blind about anything logical, this book is for you!
There is little to this book accept the belief that everything in the Bible will come to pass and that the one true God, Jesus Christ, will rule the world above all other beliefs of other Gods.
Maybe I'm just stupid, but I feel this is the same sort of propaganda that all religions preach.....that their God is the only true God. In this case, Jesus Christ.
It's sad that the author doesn't skip a beat feeling sorry for the thousands of lives that will be sacrificed in a third world war, if we are so unfortunate to have one. On the contrary, he seems to be anxious for it to begin, as it will result in the second coming of Jesus Christ! It's like, "Oh well, people will die but it's OK because we will have Christ here to make everything right!"
I respect the fact that people have a right to believe what they want, but really....isn't this a little bit over the edge? It does seem that some religious people out there, calling themselves Christians, are just as nutty as the Terrorist that recruit their people to become suicide bombers, in the name of their God.
As for my belief, I think that the mad men of this century are all too willing to bomb each other until only the cock roaches will be left to decide if it was all worth it, and if they will see Jesus Christ, Allah or some other God return to earth.
The author is a fanatic and a nut....trust me on this one.

Joel Rosenberg has the credentials, experience, and knowledge to discuss the scary, but real implications in "Epicenter". All of the sources used by Rosenberg are sound and responsible, and include his own personal knowledge. One of these sources is the Holy Bible; completely vetted and historically accurate. Most people would "sniff" at this, however, that's only because they have never taken the time to read and vet the Bible for themselves, as many far more intellectual and qualified people have already done over hundreds of years.
This work can be very upsetting, because Rosenberg is speaking the truth and elucidating on it's implications for us, the entire human race. My advice? Read it anyway!

Turn on the national news and it will have something about the Middle East in the reports. This should not be a surprise as the Bible teaches that it will have profound influence on the end times.
This book explains what is going on in the Middle East in practical terms on a spiritual basis. It addresses such subjects as oil, Israel, Iraq, and Iran.
It is a must read for the Christian in today's world.

I encourage anyone who's concerned about rising oil prices, the future of our country and the world to read this book. Rosenberg has the best intelligence I've seen on this subject, his insights and connections are amazing. You can't put it down. I can't wait for his next non fiction, have read 3 of his fiction books too, Ezekial Option was the best, plan to read his newest: Dead Heat soon.

An extraordinary book which once again, is amazingly prophetic. After reading Epicenter, daily headlines simply reflect what Rosenberg has written about the intertwined histories of the U.S. and Israel. His interpretation of the prophetic passages in Ezekiel and Revelation has answered many of my own questions as to why the U.S. does not seem to be a major player in end time events. Warnings that we must not turn our backs on Israel are so relevant in light of daily threats to our two countries - may our politicians be listening! Each day seem to bring us closer to the close of history and this book is a real asset to understanding how we must be prepared - spiritually and as citizens of this country.

Alice and Wonderland was one of my favorite stories when I was a kid. Although Disney had done the productions for the story album, the original is just wonderful. Jim Dale is fantastic. I laughed my head off a couple of times. His approach to the story put me in tuned with the characters that it made the storyline even more enjoyable.

I had a quick question before I buy this.

Certainly the ideas presented give something to mull over. The experiments with plants and hands-on approach for results has been done in the past, but to connect it with the "field" makes it more interesting. It is fascinating to bring in quantum physics with this concept, and I look forward to hearing more about it.

Everything I've ever experienced by Lynne McTaggart has been unsurpassed in quality and uniqueness of information and professionalism, and this is no exception. I would encourage you to get her other works, especially The Field (book or abridged audiobook) to get a solid foundation for this series, although she does a good introduction on these cd's. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
