Mr. Hill is definitly the best motivator I have ever listened too. His practical approach to Life as well as Business is amazing. Every household need this book and apply the principles taught in this Audiobook.

Listen Carefully and it is WorthwhileReview Date: 2008-02-14
That said, I must say I made the mistake of listening to the CD's in the car while commuting to and from work. The angst of driving in Southern California doesn't allow for proper attention to be paid to the material in the recordings. My suggestion is that you find a quiet, isolated place to listen to the CD's and then really focus on what Mr. Hill is saying. He is full of knowledge and is also an entertaining speaker. You will not get bored listening to him! It will be so much more valuable than zoning out watching mindless, worthless television shows.
Much of what he says is really nothing more than common sense but it is helpful to have it all contained in one setting, plus how many of us know what we ought to do but don't do it? I believe if a person truly applies the principles and techniques advocated by Mr. Hill, there is no doubt they will be successful.
The Amazon price for the 9-CD set is well worth it. Just make sure you set yourself up in the proper listening environment, then act on what he says.

A must-read if you are interested in the history of scienceReview Date: 2008-09-09
His genius was in being able to see physical meaning to equations; to him an equation was a representation of physical reality. His weakness was in not accepting quantum mechanics, to which can be attributed his famous quote about God and dice. Most enjoyable about the book were his exchanges with the quantum scientists such as Max Born and Niels Bohr. Isaacson was completely objective, illustrating his strengths in science, his weaknesses in relationships, and his naïveté in politics.
The author also was able to communicate the difficult scientific concepts necessary for understanding physics today. Indeed this is the clearest book I have read on the subject but possibly also the least detailed, although these may go hand-in-hand. I suggest, if you are making a new foray into reading about the history of physics, that you start here. This book will give you a good foothold into reading other books such as Kip Thorne's "Black Holes and Time Warps: Einstein's Outrageous Legacy."

Extremely Slim, Readable, and PenetratingReview Date: 2007-11-23
I found the same authors DVD The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success and book by the same title, The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success: A Pocketbook Guide to Fulfilling Your Dreams (One Hour of Wisdom) to be so worthwhile that I watched and then read them in combination.
This is a gem of a book, the kind of thing that the author himself says should be read once, and then used as a daily reminder, reading several pages each day. I agree.
Most fascinating for me, as a specialist in information and intelligence, is the authors emphasis on pursuing the goddess of knowledge so as to make the goddess of wealth envious (hence attracting wealth), and also his emphasis on how the raw material of the world is non-material, everything is a hierarchy of states of information and energy, a seamless matrix of nothingness. What I used to write off as gobblygook now has meaning to me.
The author's emphasis on Failure as good finally resonates with me. I have just closed the door on fifteen years of trying to help governments get in touch with the 96% of the information they do not and cannot steal, and as I reflect back on all that leads to the founding of the Earth Intelligence Network, I see a string of failures that led to this day:
Refused an offer from Lloyd's Bank Internation to join US Marine Corps
Average infantry officer, accepted by CIA because of background
Resigned from CIA when I found the clandestine service corrupt
Resigned from the Civil Service as founder of USMC Intelligence Center when the lawyers refused to let me run another conference on Open Source Intelligence (OSINT)
Abandoned effort to help US Government specificially in achieving access to the 96%v via a Multinational Decision Support Center, when too many factors precluded engagement.
Now I am here, about to begin my true life's work as intellligence officer to the five billion poor (and to those corporations that wish to follow the green to gold path, as well as those foundations that wish to use a global impact plan to armonize their spending for poverty, disease, environmental degradation and so on).
"Failing" at infantry, spying, bureaucracy was all a prelude to my life's work--I cannot yet say it is destiny, but my published books are now starting to show a pattern, and the next three (all free online as well as offered via Amazon, now, finally, "make sense:" Collective Intelligence: Creating a Prosperous World at Peace; Peace Intelligence: Assuring a Good Life for All; and Commercial Intelligence: From Moral Green to Golden Peace.
This book, which has two sections, one offering a page (sometimes more) on 26 steps, followed by one on 25 quantities of a unified field, is real and it is not at all squishy. I'd like to see more hard-nosed CEOs and others give this book a chance.

Adult ADDReview Date: 2008-07-17
After years of living bellow my capabilities and failing at everything I tried, i read this book and it seemed to tell my life story. Everything seemed so clear now, why I couldn't hold a job, be on time, finish college. I don't know why a doctor never noticed this before.
When I went to my psychitrist the thought of me having ADD was dissmessed, probably because I am not hyperactive, I am female and an adult. But I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that this was my problem, because of this book.
I fought to get treatment and a diagnosis. After half a year of trying, I am on meds and in therepy and my whole life has changed. I am about to graduate, I am cleaner, and more punctual.
While drugs don't give you the skills to be organized or punctual or make good grades, they do give you the ability to finally master such skills.
The book had alot of helpful tips, a section on relationships and ADD, which was also very helpful to me and my husband. Anyway, just get the book, you will not be sorry.

So bad...Review Date: 2008-09-17
The first two-thirds of the book was so slow and boring I almost put it down. Wish I had.
Then, for a moment of time, it was okay. I almost cared about the characters and the outcome.
Shortly thereafter, I wanted to ask the author if she considered working at Burger King because being an author certainly does not seem to be her area of expertise.
The plot went from dull to outlandish. The facts were distorted. (A Cessna, with a bomb on board would not simply crash land. It would be blown to smithereens and would not be survivable.)
To be honest and fair, this is the first book I've read by this author. And the last.
I purchased the book because I am a pilot, and the name/photo caught my attention. (So much for great marketing!) The write-up was intriguing. The fact that it was a best-seller, sold me.
But I've learned my lesson, for sure. Sometimes best-sellers are simply very well marketed.

Worth the TrudgeReview Date: 2008-10-11
Well, to be honest, at first I was very disappointed. The story dragged, and I only trudged through it out of sheer force of will. I think I even stopped paying attention a couple of times, and quickly lost track of what was happening in the immediate scenes.
Maguire reads the audiobook with great enthusiasm for the most part (at other parts he sounds about as bored as I was), creating original voices to distinguish the characters. As an audiobook-lover, I have to say that some professional actors fail to read novels as well as Maguire. The writing itself is lush with beautiful descriptions and narrative that easily capture the imagination and let the reader 'see' Oz in a way that is somehow both real and magical. Maguire has a style that is so uniquely HIS, and it's intriguing and pleasing after reading so many cookie-cutter type authors. It was these things that contributed to my will to see the story on to its end.
And I'm so glad that I did! Somewhere around the middle of this novel, the drudgery is gone and the land of Oz becomes fascinating again! Liir becomes understandable and realistic, and I found myself completely emerged in what was happening to him. The very end of the book, which I won't spoil, absolutely solidified my enjoyment. Maguire concludes the novel suddenly, but so satisfactorily. I think I might have actually gasped at the sudden understanding and surprise I felt when two particular plotlines were cleared up. They seemed so clear once Maguire briefly pulled back the curtain to show readers what had been there all along.
In short, the pay off is worth it! Trudge through the earlier chapters, and you'll be glad that you did!
Well written but frustrated for the rest of the story Review Date: 2008-10-01
We already know Liir is Elphaba's son or his presence in Wicked and a whole sequel being based on him would be completely meaningless. It's gratifying at the end that he finally knows-for-sure he's Elphaba's son. The whole book basically leads up to him knowing-for-sure what the reader already knows. Too many questions are left unanswered. He doesn't find Nor. We don't know what happens with Candle. It's left open for another sequel. The book is very detailed and well written, but stretched out and slow. Some information is unnecessary and the necessary information is left out! But I do like Maguire's style and his adult rendition of a classic series. A third book is coming out about the Cowardly Lion- I'm sure I'll pick it up and I hope it gives me my answers this time!
