ISBN 059004706x - All of the I Spy books are fantastic and this one, featuring vehicles of all kinds, is particularly nice for boys who normally don't care about books. They'll start looking for cars and suddenly... they're involved in a book!

Simple rhyming text on the left-hand pages accompanies clear images of individual items that are hidden in the photos on the right-hand pages. Lots of trucks, cars, planes and more - and when you're done, you can create your own "can you find..." games!

Where's Waldo type books have amused me for my entire adult life, so finding books that introduce children to the idea so young made me very happy. Little children, who usually have the attention span of gnats, will suddenly be deep in concentration and entirely focused as they search for the hidden things. Some are surprisingly well-hidden, especially in those photos where a single color dominates or the item you're searching for is well-hidden by lack of light. Wick and Marzollo - what a team!

My 21-month-old son loves trains, cars, buses, tractors, diggers, motorbikes... anything he can roll along on their little wheels. I brought him to the library one day and he picked up this book and thus began our fascination with the I-Spy series. This clever book has green cars, police cars, zooming airplanes, a long choo-choo train etc hidden in places that challenges a toddler to seek out. It actually isn't all that easy! (I missed the kitty cat face for a while...) A wonderful book to read with eye-catching illustrations and catchy rhymes.

This is a "I spy" book for beginners. My 2 1/2 old was mesmerized by it the first time he saw it and immediately asked me to "read it again". However, he found all but one of the objects relatively quickly the first time around and now it won't take him more than one minute to go through the whole book. I encourage him to look for objects that are not featured on the left pages to make it more challanging.

This series of board books are fantastic.

I started collecting these for my daughter after she was given one at 6 months and this is what we started to read to her every night. She woud sit and demand it to be read over and over and over again. The board pages and are easy for baby and toddler to turn and the pictures (real photography not illustrations) are wonderful.

The numbers one uses everyday objects that your baby will recognise. If your looking for a great picture book to share with your baby this is the one (and the series of books) to buy. You can never have too many books to read with your children.

I bought this book for my baby, who is 14 months old. He likes the pictures in the book. I like the fact that it's very easy to read. He doesn't sit still for a long story! The farm animal book is better for his age, but this book is good, too.

I love the sing-song verse of Helen Oxenbury. This book, as well as the other three in the series, are perfect board books for babies and young children just getting into storytime, and they make wonderful gifts, too.

Our sixteen-going-on-seventeen month old is in love with Helen Oxenbury's books. These are the ones she brings to us when she wants a quick reading fix. She knows and enjoys them, and it seems to me she even recognizes herself in the images of toddlers (even though they all seem to be boys).

I purchased this to add to my son's sleepytime book collection. I thought it would be filled with babies sleeping, looking sleepy or getting ready for bed. WRONG. The only page ( and image) of sleepy babies is on the cover and the last page.

There is nothing sweet, charming, endearing or amusing about this book. Illustrations are nice and large. It's just dry and boring. Yes it is written for tiny ones and one cannot expect too much in such a short book written for a baby. Completely lacking in imagination, in my opinion, this book is blah. There is so much better out there. Don't waste your money.

You cannot experience the full impact of "Say Goodnight" without also reading the companion works, "Clap Hands," "All Fall Down," and "Tickle, Tickle". Ms Oxenbury weaves a world which first lulls you into comfort with what appears to be non-violent multicultural values. Upon repeated readings (and you must read all four, with "Say Goodnight" as the last) you finally realize this was not her goal all along.

The first signs that her world is not one of peaceful babies is the inconsistencies: in no two consective pages are the clothes of the babies ever the same. In "All Fall Down," for instance, the same babies "bounce" and "fall down" but have different attire entirely. Then the question comes up: who are the real parents? There are at least four adults being shown; what are the relationships of all these people? The children are living, eating, bathing and sleeping together. The adults are only around for a few key illustations.

Lastly, the same pudgy Caucasion is the one being tormented at "Open wide" (mealtime) and at "Tickle, tickle." It then becomes clear that Ms. Oxenbury is really telling a post-multicultural tale over the course of her four books: the swell of influences of around the world will subdue modern society, forcing a uniform experience upon us all.

This is done with about 50 words in total. Bravo!

Our 2 year old son just loooves Maisy. The T.V. shows and books are a big hit. With this one, he brings it over to us and works his way into our laps, no matter if we are reading something else, and wants it read to him - now! The story is simple, and the actions depicted captivate a 2 year old well. I wish it were a few pages longer, but otherwise for the Maisy fan in your house you can't go wrong with any of these great books by Lucy Cousins.

We have many Maisy books at our house, but this one is especially cute! Maisy works on the farm milking cows, feeding chickens, etc. The pictures are adorable and my 10 month old likes us to make the farm animal sounds as we read it to him.

I highly recommend it!

If you are the parent of a young child, you probably know who Maisy is. She's a mouse with a duck, a squirrel, an elephant, and a crocodile for friends. Why the crocodile isn't trying to eat the others is beyond me, but that's life in Maisy's world.

Both of my daughters love the Maisy books; there's something about their simple stories and colorful pictures that even appeals to adults. The books are short and easy to read. But, the stories are never obnoxiously simplistic, like so many other books for small children.

Maisy's on the farm and someone has to feed all of the animals. Will Maisy be able to take care of all of her chorse and have breakfast? Will little black cat enjoy a bowl of milk? And just where did Maisy get that tractor? A fun book for small children (and even a few older ones).

I totally LOVE this product. They are time consuming to make up BUT well worth it.Once the centers are made up, they are easy to maintain. I would highly suggest laminating the pieces. I did and they have held up very well. My students loved doing them. I would recommend for any teachers. Many times I used these as a reward for getting work done in class early. Students were able to pick what they wanted to do after completing their assignments.

A wonderful educational tool, well worth the buy!

This book is my first purchase in the "Take it to your Seat" series, and I'm delighted with it!
These full color activities are of high quality and very appealing to my young learner.
They're easy to use, and offer a nice change of pace to reinforce literacy skills in a manner that is both fun and effective.

I will definitely be purchasing more books from this series, and hope all are as useful and creatively designed as this one.

The games even come with a recording sheet for the students. This is a must have for independent reading centers!

This is my 2 year old's absolute favorite book and calls the main character by her own name because of the uncanny resemblance in both appearance and personality. We both love the rhythm and the illustrations, but I held one star back because I believe that it inspired some naughty behaviors. I definitely noticed more sand eating and wall art after we had read the book a few times. So be prepared!

This book is fantastic. Not only is the story adorable, but the pictures are amazing. It is the best illustrated book my daughter owns. She is 2-1/2 and loves this book so much she has memorized it. She "reads" it from cover to cover all the time. What is cuter than hearing a little voice say, "Baby Please, Baby Please!" It is a must have for your toddlers library.

I checked this book out from the library for my 17 month old daughter and she is absolutely in love with it! We always read a book before she goes to sleep and this is the one that she has chosen every day, twice a day (nap included). It works out well since the book ends with the baby getting a kiss from Mama as she tucks her in for bedtime. I decided to buy it for her so that I won't have to keep renewing the loan. Beautiful images!!!

Brilliant Illustrations and Great Reading for Toddlers

Have you ever begged your kids to go back to sleep or thought that baby needs a nap? Well you can identify with what this baby gets into. Even though the child is told "no" to this or "don't" do that, you will find yourself laughing at the clever illustrations and expressions. The kids at the daycare believe that everything in the book could happen and realized that the clock depicted in each scene proves that naps are necessary. Now that is a positive reinforcement for parents. The illustrations are phenomenal - the details, color, and mischief depicted - will fill your heart with joy as well as provide discussion topics with your kids.

My homeschooled daughter really likes this book (she's in 2nd grade). When we received it, she did 20 pages in one sitting. I had to ask her to save some pages for later :) It states a rule, then has a few pages of different activities for each rule. For homeschooled kid, you can do more per day. For kid that attends a public school, the activities on each page are short enough to be enjoyable. This book came with CD that has a pdf file of this whole book, so you can redo some lessons by printing them later again.

Great for us homeschoolers and terrific for traditional students who just want reinforcement or review.

Starting school brings about many new emotions in children. Will You Come Back for Me? by Ann Tompert addresses a child's fear and anxiety about being separated from mom. The child in this story is dispondent after mother leaves and just watches for her return. The mother calms the child and tells her she is leaving her heart with the child and will surely return to her. She crafts a heart for the child to carry with her as a reminder. The child then makes new friends at school, knowing her mother will return. An excellent, feel-good, warm and fuzzy book. I would recommend reading it to any child who is beginning preschool or daycare, or any child who is having trouble separating from mom.

"The Giant Jam Sandwich" is great for any kid with a vivid imagination its laid out in such a way that it flows like honey or in the case of this book STRAWBERRY JAM! The basis of this book is the town of "Itching Down" has one serious dilemma, one day in flew 4 million wasps and of course they were wreaking havoc for everyone and everything so what do you do to try to get rid of these pesky wasps? why build a giant jam sandwich and trap them in it!
From what I see this book came out 30yrs ago its has a fun rhyming text, the illustrations are great I love the expressions of the townsfolk and it showcases a community really coming together to solve a big buzzing problem. A great food fun book a lot like "Cloudy with a chance of meatballs" which I also highly recommend. This book is complete fun for the family a great story to bring along for picnics just don't forget to pack your own jam sandwiches!
