We read often to the little ones but some books my two year old just loves and asks for over and over.
There are some books that as an adult I like a lot. This is one such book. I originally checked it out from the library but I am looking for a copy to purchase.

This is a wonderful book for toddlers and one that I don't mind reading over and over to my daughter. It is a very funny book for potty training about a young girl whose potty is stolen by the farm animals who think its the greatest thing ever. My daughter's favorite page reads, "What an amazing invention, what a wonderful device, but a little privacy would be nice." My daughter subsequently insists on privacy when she has to make a poo - something I don't mind at all!
Great toddler/preschooler book!

Unfortunately, this has to be a supervised-only book because, like with many flap books, the flaps aren't that sturdy and *will* come off.
But yeah, it's funny and enjoyable, especially if you really get into yelling "I NEED MY BINKET!" every other page.

I ordered this book for my 20 month old son. He enjoys it a great deal, but I had to clean the pages before I could read to him and have had to use tape to make sure the doors don't fall off. It was a "super saver" but it did NOT specify that it was used and had some dirt (it looked like some type of food) on almost all the pages. I am very disappointed that it was not clear that it was a used book and that I would have to CLEAN it before we could use it.

Sandra Boyton has really done it this time! Dinosaur's Binkit is my younger son's favorite book. Every page gives opportunity to open a new flap and touch different fabrics. It's funny and sweet. Soon, you'll be screaming, "I want my binkit!!!" right along with the words. Buy one now!

Boynton writes the best children books, but the quality of this one is poor. We receive the book and it had parts missing (notably, the "Binkit" on the last page was missing and glue was exposed). We exchanged it for another, and the replaced one also had problems (the red blanket in the middle of the book had stained the another page - and not a small stain). If you are willing to accept the poor quality of the construction of the book, then get it because it is a pretty good story.

The puzzles are printed on quality paper and the have interesting themes. The numbers have a more "hand written" look rather than a traditional printed look. Younger children might not recognize the number nine. The nine (9) looks more like the letter "g" than the traditional printed nine that children usually see. View the larger image of the front cover and you can see how the nines are printed.
Also the numbers do not follow in a easy line next to each other. The next number might be up or down or across the page. It takes some searching to find where it go.
The book would be fine for children able to do higher level of difficulty puzzles. The recommend age is 9- 12, however younger children can do it. I just would not make it the first dot to dot counting to 75 for a kindergartener.

I ordered 12 or 13 dot-to-dot books, mazes books, and reading skill comprehension books for my 7 year old grandson. He has been struggling with 2nd grade this year, and I had quickly exhausted the meager supply of books of that sort from WalMart.
After almost fighting with him to do the first dot-to-dot book I got for him, he finished both books in 3 days, and was wanting some more. No one seemed to carry those types of books, geared for his age group. When I thought of Amazon, and went online to check what they had, I found all sorts of books.
He is still working on them, and really enjoys the challenge they present. I also ordered 2 specifically geared to kindergarten level, as I have a 5 year old grandaughter who was having some problems with her numbers and alphabet letters. She picked those up rapidly after going through her books.
My 11 year old grandaughter loves the dot-to-dot books, as well as the books that have all sorts of challenges in them; the puzzle books. She also loves the comprehensive reading books.
Amazon has come through once again as the place to find quality items, very reasonably priced, and often offering free shipping on some items. I shall continue to shop with them, as their main goal is the customer's satisfaction!

I bought this for my 2 young grandsons. Their parents and I enjoy it as much as the little ones do. My favorite story is "The Kitten Who Thought He Was a Mouse" The Garth Williams illustrations are exactly as I remembered them as a child myself, and when I was reading it to my daughter. And it's such a great story about accepting those who are different. And then there's the "Sagggy Baggy elephant", the "Tawny Scrawny Lion", and several others. The book is nicely bound also. When Amazon first sent it to me, it was loose in a big box with other heavy merchandise, and suffered some damage from a large bent corner. Amazon quickly replaced it. I just traveled with my 2 little grandsons and this book. It gets read to them every day, and I didn't notice any noticible damage to this much loved book.

Little Golden Books were a huge part of shaping the American Dream. Kids of new generations will love this gold-edged volume that contains Saggy Baggy Elephant, Kitten Who Thought He Was A Mouse, How the Leopard Got His Spots, Mister Dog, Animal Orchestra, The Lion's Pa, Baby Animals (by Garth Williams), The Golden Egg Book, Animal Friends (illus by Garth Williams), The Big Brown Bear, Home for a Bunny, How the Camel Got Its Hump and the Tawny Scrawny Lion. All the original illustrations are included and the colors havebeen restored to their original brightness (ah, the joys of digital restoration). The size is nice for bedtime or tucking into the car for reading while you wait, always a great way to wait!

You grew up on the Little Golden Books; now you can pass those stories along to your children with this great series. Printed on high-quality paper with gilt edges in a hardbound edition that's sure to last for ages, its surprising how affordable the books in the Little Golden Book Treasury series are. Each has more than 300 pages, and contains numerous stories such as Scuffy the Tugboat, The Poky Little Puppy, Tawny Scrawny Lion, The Saggy Baggy Elephant. Pages are larger and more colorful than the original Little Golden Books. My kids love them!

This is a nice large size book. It is actually kind of too big for my 10 month old to handle on her own. But she will grow into it. It definitely catches her attention. It has very cute pictures and she enjoys the sound of the buzzing flies on the last page.
As a previous reviewer noted, it does have a warning on the back that it is not for children under 3 due to choking hazard from small parts. I think it is referring to the googly eyes. I think it would be fine for a child under 3 as long as you supervise while they use it.
Overall I think this book is a good deal for the price here on Amazon.

My district is implementing guided reading this school year. This book has been invaluable to me. It has helped me understand how to manage my classroom, so that my students will gain the most advantages from such a program. I am looking forward to returning this fall with this program in place. It is an extra bonus that the author is a teacher and has been in the same position.

This book is a wonderful resource for a classroom teacher using guided reading. It is similar to Guided Reading: Good First Teaching... but more reader friendly, not full of research etc. I would recommend this book for K-3 teachers. It compliments Guided Reading, An Observation Survey and On Solid Ground.

We just received this book today. First of all, we had not realized it would come with a small hammer. Fabulous. Then, we saw that there was a place to tap the hammer on every page (or the child could press that with his/her hand). Our 21 month old son loves Bob the Builder, and this book is a hit with him. I'm ordering the others in this set (one with a screwdriver, one with a wrench).

My newly 1 year old loves Elmo and his Sesame Street friends. I was so excited to find a book that combined the theme of her birthday and Elmo in a book with textures (another favorite).
I was disappointed with the variety and number of pics with textures when I received the book. We kept the book and my daughter pages through it - maybe I just had too high of expectations.

Bright and colorful pages make this book loads of fun for any little one's special day. Elmo celebrates his birthday with the whole Sesame Street gang from Bert and Ernie to Zoe and Cookie Monster. Each page has a touch and feel texture, i.e. Elmo's nose is soft and velvety, Ernie's box has "straw" inside. The pages are large and sturdy, a great board book to have in your child's library or give as a birthday gift to a Sesame Street fan!

We have dozens of Spanish translations of English books, some of which work better than others. I had hoped this one would at least be okay, but for me, it seems very awkward and loses the charm of the original; and my son will not listen to even a page read in Spanish.
Others have commented that the book keeps the rhythm of the Spanish language, but I couldn't disagree more. I am hesitant to simply blame the translator--with such simple images, I think there is only so much a translator can do to preserve the feeling of the original, and perhaps this book just didn't lend itself. All the charming rhymes seem to be lost, without being replaced, and so the repetition that is so soothing, even to babies, just isn't there. In addition, the lines themselves feel so much longer in Spanish, as well, and my son, who adores the English, gets very impatient for the page to be turned.
Let me just provide a couple examples. From the first page to the second:
English: In the great green ROOM, there was a telephone, a red balLOON, and a picture of...the cow jumping over the MOON.
Okay, maybe "room" is a stretch there, but there is a rhythm to that rhyme.
Spanish: En la gran habitacion verde, hay un telefono, un globo rojo y un cuadro...de una vaquita que salta sobre la Luna.
Some other pages are slightly better:
English: 2 little kittens and a pair of mittens
Spanish: Dos gatitos juguetones, dos caletines y dos mitones
But followed by:
English: ...comb and a BRUSH and a bowl full of MUSH, and a quiet old lady who was whispering HUSH
Spanish: ...cepillo y un gran peine y papilla en un tazon, y una amable viejecita que teje muy calladita.
So is there some rhythm in the Spanish translation? Sure. But does it even approximate the English? No, I don't think so. Of course translations are not going to be perfect, but we own many Spanish texts [translated from English] that are virtually as good as (or even occasionally better than) the original. The awkwardness of this translation seems to present a bad example of the beauty and flow of Spanish, and unless reading the English version is not a possibility, I really don't recommend this book in Spanish--especially not with a baby or toddler. An older, school age child who wants to learn the Spanish vocabulary would, I think, be much more likely to enjoy this book (thus the 2 stars instead of 1).
Note for reference: Some board books we have enjoyed in Spanish include "Donde esta el ombliguito" by Karen Katz, and all the "Este no es mi..." books (Este no es mi dragon being a favorite among favorites, though, to be fair, some of the word choices are a bit odd, but that doesn't affect the overall flow of the book).

I purchased this book for my children so they can learn the language. They are really enjoying it and learning it fast because we have the English version. I think it would be a great start for adults who want to learn Spanish.

I use this book for daily editing and find that it is a great way to review and practice punctuation. The students seem to enjoy the stories as well.
