We love all the Ms. Wishy-washy books, and wish there were more titles. I must say, however, this is our least favorite title because the "meanies" in this book. These creatures are a bit too creepy looking. Perhaps others will disagree, but with bad teeth, red noses and bones in their hair they seemed the stuff nightmares - even for an adult.

I love the Wishy-Washy books and have several of them which my 3 1/2 year old boys also love. The text is predictable and the pictures follow the text perfectly. However, this book is not my favorite of the series.

I bought this for my 2 young grandsons. Their parents and I enjoy it as much as the little ones do. My favorite story is "The Kitten Who Thought He Was a Mouse" The Garth Williams illustrations are exactly as I remembered them as a child myself, and when I was reading it to my daughter. And it's such a great story about accepting those who are different. And then there's the "Sagggy Baggy elephant", the "Tawny Scrawny Lion", and several others. The book is nicely bound also. When Amazon first sent it to me, it was loose in a big box with other heavy merchandise, and suffered some damage from a large bent corner. Amazon quickly replaced it. I just traveled with my 2 little grandsons and this book. It gets read to them every day, and I didn't notice any noticible damage to this much loved book.

Little Golden Books were a huge part of shaping the American Dream. Kids of new generations will love this gold-edged volume that contains Saggy Baggy Elephant, Kitten Who Thought He Was A Mouse, How the Leopard Got His Spots, Mister Dog, Animal Orchestra, The Lion's Pa, Baby Animals (by Garth Williams), The Golden Egg Book, Animal Friends (illus by Garth Williams), The Big Brown Bear, Home for a Bunny, How the Camel Got Its Hump and the Tawny Scrawny Lion. All the original illustrations are included and the colors havebeen restored to their original brightness (ah, the joys of digital restoration). The size is nice for bedtime or tucking into the car for reading while you wait, always a great way to wait!

Animal Tales is an omnibus collection of nine classic "Little Golden Book" stories featuring wonderful animal characters. The oft-beloved tales included are "The Saggy Baggy Elephant", "The Kitten Who Thought He Was a Mouse", "How the Leopard Got Its Spots", "Mister Dog", "Animal Friends", "The Big Brown Bear", "Home for a Bunny", "How the Camel Got Its Hump", and "Tawny Scrawny Lion". Printed with a durable hardcover binding, gold-edged pages, and the charming full color illustrations, Animal Tales is an ideal anthology for reading aloud to young people at storytime or bedtime, or for budding young readers learning to sound out picutrebooks on their own. Highly recommended.

You grew up on the Little Golden Books; now you can pass those stories along to your children with this great series. Printed on high-quality paper with gilt edges in a hardbound edition that's sure to last for ages, its surprising how affordable the books in the Little Golden Book Treasury series are. Each has more than 300 pages, and contains numerous stories such as Scuffy the Tugboat, The Poky Little Puppy, Tawny Scrawny Lion, The Saggy Baggy Elephant. Pages are larger and more colorful than the original Little Golden Books. My kids love them!

I have used this for several years and have found the word lists to be appropriate and on level. I don't solely use the activities in this book because I feel the kids get bored with the same general format. Other than that, they are quality activities.

My baby loved this CD from day one. He loves it from start to finish. He sings and dances along. I play this when he is grumpy and it seems to be very calming for him. He listens intently to the spoken words and the instrument sounds. He loves the book as well.
The combination is excellent for his development and music appreciation.

My 2 1/2 year old already knew - and liked - all the characters because we have "On the Road," another book in the series. The zoo theme is a popular one for toddlers and the pictures are great. The accompanying CD is good, too.

When my son hears this CD he calms down immediately. It is like magic. We had the CD in the car for a long trip and whenever he started getting fussy, we put it on. Within seconds he was bopping his head along to the music. I do not know what it is about it that he loves so much - but we are buying more in the series.

This series is wonderful! Our two-year-old absolutely loves the Baby Loves Jazz series. We bought a few to start out, then ended up buying the whole set. Two months after acquiring them, she is still enamored and requests to listen to them and read them every day. Her favorites? Well, these are the words we hear most often: "Mommy, read Duck and Miles?" or "Daddy, listen to Duck and Miles?" Philly Joe is also high on the list. I recommend them all. The books stand out on their own, but the music is what makes this series really shine. For example, on Duck Ellington's CD, he does a great Monk style on one track, then switches to great impression of Coltrane's classic quartet on the next track, with a very nice McCoy Tyner impression. Lots of variety and high quality make this series worthwhile (though I could have done without Louis Lion's potty tune). Don't forget the Go Baby Go CD as well (a stand-alone CD without a book), which is perhaps a notch above the music on the book CDs. The ABC tune is her favorite on that one.

I really love to learn all about jobs. I really love rescue animals. I thought it was funny when Baby Jaguar licked Dora's cousin Diego on the cheek on page 8. When I grow up, I'll be an archaeologist. I really love learning about archaeology. Well, I've never actually studied arcaeology. It will be fun. I've never seen a real archaeologist.

I was disappointed by the books in this collection. They're abridged versions of these titles. For instance, Day at the Beach (a book we were replacing because it was lost) was missing at least 2 or 3 pages! How many pages are there in one of these books anyway...10? That's a lot of pages to remove, so I think this is a ripoff, pretty uncool of the publisher, and the titles should be labelled as "abridged". Not recommended.

My 17 month old son loves this book and so do I. It really keeps his attention. The pictures are REAL, not drawings, and all of them are bright and fun to look at. He will get this book and just sit in the floor looking at it for a long time. When I "read" it with him, he "talks" to me about the pictures. This is definitely one of his very favorite books and well worth the money. I highly recommend this book! Also, it's in the board book format, so he can play with it himself without me having to worry he's going to accidentally tear a page! Wonderful...

I thought that I was being weird when I bought this as a graduation gift for my daughter. Then I noticed that the dedication was "to my son graham, off to college".
Seuss' "Oh, The Places You'll Go!" Is very good, but it's become almost a cliche. This is a really good alternative.

This book is full of messages for life. It would be appropriate for the high school/college grad..."take one step at a time" or "be sure to get obstacles out of your way". Deeper interpretations abound! Terrific illustrations with a somewhat retro look. Definitely a humerous hit for all ages.

Frazee's comical "Guide for Babies of All Ages" has a subconscious message behind the humor, meanwhile encouraging those first few steps that will open up a universe of new experiences, baby leaving the shelter of the familiar for the unknown. The roly-poly baby illustrated is tiny compared to everything around him, objects taller than him, but once he pulls himself up and begins that first, tentative journey, it is impossible to stop. Of course, there are a few cautions along the way, "be careful of things that are wobbly; stay away from fragile stuff". There are the usual setbacks, too-much too-soon and a tumble to the floor, followed by a howl and the effort to being again. Cleverly worded and cheerfully illustrated, this tongue-in-cheek guide is a delight, offering more food for thought than is first apparent. Luan Gaines/ 2006.
