The game is actually a lot better than i expected. I've been wanting that "good rpg" game for a while now, to the point where
i bought Jade Empire for the PC, and have played a few "crap de la creme" titles along the way. I even bought a PS3 for
the rpg titles that are coming out, lol. So, if you can't tell by now, i'm a hardcore rpg fan.
Ok so Blue Dragon starts out kind of funny at first. The voice acting get's kind of comical at times and the little voice that gives you the hints was requesting death by the mute button on my remote! Luckily, i found that you can turn her off in the options menu. Phew...
The scenary (for some reason scenaries in rpg's are a big deal to me) at first isn't so great. It's like a desert, and considering i hate that type of environment, it was a turn off. Still, i kept playing because i could see the potential there. Eventually you end up in some pretty lush environments, and thankfully it's not a long wait. The story line isn't as deep as something like Final Fantasy, but isn't as weak as say, Dragon Quest. Yes, Dragon Quest does have some pretty weak story lines. lol Blue Dragon's story is actually pretty intriguing.
Shu (the main character) seems like he's been watching Power Rangers his whole life and wants to be the hero of his time, and his friends just jump in. What makes the storyline interesting is the way it unravels. One minute you're in a boring desert walking around, and the next you could be plummeting underground (... yea how do you fall underground? You'll have to play it to find out!) to some ancient ruins.
I already made this review longer than i expect so i'll end with this. There's nothing in this game to keep it from being Awesome. The only turn off a player might have is that it plays like the old traditional Final Fantasy's. By that i mean, The overworld walking, the turnbased fighting via menu with "fight, defend, items, steal, etc." So if those things don't bother you, this game is for all you guys, like myself that have been waiting for a good rpg. Ah, yes... sweet satisfaction! Reminded me of when i first started playing Chrono Trigger. Which btw, This game has an excellent music score.
Only reason i made it 4 stars, is because the game has to be pretty much flawless to get 5. That, and the story of course must be phenomenal. I guess i'm just a critic! ^^;

Although a total remake of final fantsy IX, it figures since it's the same creator of the mentioned series who created this
same game, the game is much fun, and the battle system, although nothing new or innovative, is entertaining enough to keep
one playing for hours and hours.
I really recommend this game to new and old gamers. Its level of difficulty is relative to how experienced you are in RPGs, but I'd say even an 8 year old kid can get a hang of it and enjoy it if RPGs are his thing.

Prima games has not always produced guides that would rank high on my personal favorites list. Especially in the RPG department.
But every now and then you get a good guide, and Blue Dragon is a good guide. It's filled to the brim with details. Just
about everything you wanted to know about Blue Dragon is here.
The guide begins by introducing you to the characters, where it gives them a standard bio. It'll also introduce you to your enemies. It then jumps into the Game Basics where you'll basically learn about the games system. Just about everything you need is here. You'll learn about the complexities of the game system, achievement, battle skills. Just about everything. It's exhaustive, but it helps.
The game then jumps into the Shadow Classes where it'll tell you all kinds of things. Under each class they give you a description, list out all the abilities and give you tips on just which skills you might want to learn. This is followed up by a list of all the spells obtainable under each class. After this the guide finally jumps into the walkthrough.
The walkthrough is huge. The walkthrough is divided first by disc, and then by quests that you'll undergo on each disc. Each quest will list off five "milestones" you have to do. The walkthrough then proceeds to help you through each and every one of those milestones detailing just how to go about your business. The walkthrough is very well organized, with some big, gorgeous screenshots (taken in widescreen) to help you out. There's also plenty of artwork to enjoy as you flip through the guides pages.
The maps are detailed, with an items list to accompany each one. The walkthrough also calls out new enemies as you encounter them, but they don't exactly provide an enemy list for each area. Achievements are called out and they'll tell you how to get them. Their boss strategies, while not perfect, are helpful enough, and the guide typically warns you when you're running into danger.
The walkthrough is overall, extremely detailed and well laid out. The screenshots are extremely detailed and clear. Some parts of the walkthrough are even written with a sense of humor. After the final boss there's a section dedicated to some of the optional stuff. Another something worth checking out if you're out to master the game.
The guide then moves on into the extras chapter. This is mostly full of appendices. It begins with the achievements appendix by listing off all the achievements and telling you how many points you'll get for them. Again, another section that's pretty detailed and exhaustive. Especially because there are quite a few achievements. The next appendix is the barriers, showing you where all those trapped treasure chests are.
Afterwards the guide moves on into the real appendices. Stuff like the items list. Items, weapons, armor, accessories. It's all here. This is followed up by the monsters section. This section is not done in alphabetical order but by the monster's number, which is pretty much set up by family. More than likely you won't need the monsters list, but if you do there's no index or anything to help you locate the monster you're looking for.
After all these huge sections the developers of the guide end of with showing you an art gallery. It's all beautiful artwork, but probably not a section you'll find yourself completely immersed in. There's enough fan art throughout the guide as it is.
If you need help with Blue Dragon, this is definitely a good guide to look to. It has just about everything you need and then some. A well organized guide that won't have you flipping pages like a madman because you can't find something. This is the all around perfect guide for Blue Dragon.

The piano perfectly matches up with the tune, the vocals are 100% accurate. I don't know about the guitar part, but I can
imagine that is correct as well. If your looking to play the TUNE of the song, this is a great book, The piano is can be a
little tricky with timing at times, but once you get the main beat of the song, it's a real fun book to play!

too.

THIS BOOK...ALTHOUGH FUNNY AT TIMES...WAS A WASTE OF MONEY. IT HAD ABSOLUTELY NO PURPOSE. ALL HE DOES IS POINT OUT THE KIND
OF GIRLS GUYS DONT WANT, MEANWHILE AS YOU READ YOUR SELF ESTEEM LOWERS AND LOWERS, PAGE BY PAGE. EACH CHAPTER IS ABOUT "THAT"
GIRL THAT YOU SHOULD NOT BE, HOWEVER, HE NEVER DISCUSSES HOW ONE SHOULD NOT BE "THAT" GIRL. AT THE END HE JUST STATES, JUST
DONT BE "THAT" GIRL....WOW!!! THANK YOU!!! LOL HATE IT PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF THE MONEY.

I bought this book for a single friend who was struggling dating, and she really found it informative with a little bit of
humor mixed in. I've seen Dr. Stork on T.V. and just really thought he pointed out things from a male point of view. I highly
recommend it.

This book explores the reasons that some women seem to be serially unsuccessful in their dating relationships. It suggests
that men recognize particular behavioral attributes in certain women, which sooner or later raise a red flag, causing these
guys to run for the hills. The author identifies eight specific "types" of women and how their actions, words and attitudes
work together to doom their every male-female relationship. Fortunately, by identifying these relationship-sabotaging behaviors,
the reader is not only able to determine if they fall into any of the offending categories, but also what they need to do
to alter their habits and general outlook to avoid continuing to be "that girl." Overall, it is an interesting read, and
one I recommend for anyone who seems to have a long history of being "unlucky at love."

As a therapist, I bought this book mainly out curiosity and as a possible reference for clients. The book starts out well
enough, suggesting that a woman who is not "that girl" is confident and doesn't need the approval of men for her sense of
self. However, the "labels" are difficult to apply to real world situations. Probably many people have met these "criteria"
at some points in their lives. I don't think women really need more categorizing and labeling- it's already done enough in
multiple other industries and women have enough collective anxiety already about this. Also, it subjects women to relentlessly
question their motives and behavior- "gee, am I a bitter girl because I broke it off with someone who was verbally abusive?"
"Am I now an agenda girl because I've waited 3 years for him to propose and really want to get married?" "Am I a yes girl
for not asking him to propose and it's been 4 years?" I think women have enough to deal with in their lives, and feel this
book is oversimplified if one is looking for real advice. If one is just looking for a lighthearted read to not take too seriously,
this book is fine. And no, I'm not suggesting money on therapy instead! There are plenty of other good books out there. Perhaps
if Dr. Stork had done a psychiatric/ER residency I may have given it more credibility. Seeing a patient a few times in the
ER in crisis isn't the same as working with them long term for years on end. It's easy to apply labels when we aren't aware
of the whole story.

I'm a teenager and I'm using Musical Theater Anthology volume 3 as one of my books in voice lessons. It contains musical theater
songs that some people might not have heard of, but all the songs are very good. At the same time it includes many well known
songs. My only complaint is some of the accompianment is a little strange and some of the keys of the songs are weird. Other
then that its a great book!

It has a great variety of vocal selections. If you want modern, rock musical stuff though, this is definitely not the right
choice. I think that, since this is soprano, they have put much of the music into a slightly higher key (when compared to
the sheet music for the musicals themselves).

I only say that the review titled, "Some Fantastic Unknown Songs!" is inappropriate, because those are NOT the songs in this
volume. I bought this volume thinking I would get the songs like "Moonfall" and "Unusual Way," but I didn't. This book is
great don't get me wrong; I'll still get a lot out of it. Just don't read reviews thinking they are totally accurate.

Even after a year of heafty exploring in the genre of musical theatre, I feel as though I have only brushed the first layer
off and have dozens more to go. PErhaps this is why I can't appreciate this more. The book's not bad at all, I just don't
know most of these songs!
HOwever, when it comes down to it, I have to say the arrangements here are FABULOUS! Songs from Phantom, Les Miz, and Jekyll and Hyde(all my favorites) are arranged well for solo performance, and my particular favorite "IN his Eyes", though it does not contain the gorgeous duet part or characters, makes it easy to pick and change to a solo piece. In fact the arrangement is ten times better than the actual song book version.
Overall, definitely a great book to own; highly recommended from a theatre geek!

It's best to purchase all 3 of each anthology - I find Vol. 2 to be the best selection, but since each song is in the original
key, it's a far cry from the pablum of typical "vocal selections" available. The only drawback - all the good audition pieces
are showing up in these, and now everything's getting overused! :P

This Advdenture in Odyssey series is great. My daughter is 7 years old. She enjoyed listening to the program, and could
easily relate to the young characters and their exciting adventure through history. She learned something about history that
she will likely not learn in school... our founding Fathers trusted God to lead them. This includes four great lessons in
History and Morality, all the time entertaining young and old alike.

I loved this book. I couldn't put it down. Started reading it at 5:30 p.m. finished it at 11:30 p.m. I usually don't stay
up that late, because I have to be at work at 4 a.m. I just couldn't stop reading it until I found out what happened. The
love scenes were great not to much like some books it was just right. This is one book worth buying. Looking forward to more
books from this author!!!

Stephen Fried delivers a thoroughly researched, well-written and very well-rounded picture of Gia's tragically short life.
He manages to present the factors that contributed to her meteoric rise to supermodel status and equally rapid fall from the
fashion world's grace fairly and without oversimplification. Along the way, we get a glimpse into the hard realities of an
industry that manages to look wonderfully glamorous on the surface but behind the scenes grinds down and then discards all
but the toughest. We are given a heart-rending portrait of a young woman who struggled to deal with a multitude of inner demons
including early abandonment by her mother and the social unacceptability of her sexual orientation by developing a tough exterior
that ultimately could not contain her pain. And we get a genuinely chilling look into the self-deceptive thought processes
of denial and rationalization employed by a seriously narcissistic mother who was deeply enmeshed with her daughter but was
never really capable of putting Gia's best interests first or of loving her unconditionally. Fascinating stuff and a good
read as well.

the only book i have ever, and WILL ever cry over. okay maybe not cry, but i def teared up while reading the last few pages.
her life was just so incredibly sad. this book is written beautifully, and was very hard to put down. i defy anyone to not
fall in love with Gia during this book, and have heartache when it's over. towards the end is a "where are they now" but it's
about 15 yrs old. i wish steven would do an updated version!!
Too much detail....Gia's story is in there somewhere

Here is what I liked about this book: This book was well written and loaded with great information. Information, not only
about Gia but anything you wanted to know about the modeling industry in the late 70's and early 80's, the culture of that
time, New York and the bar scene. The author even had some comments about the politics of the time with some typically left-wing
media type comments about Ronald Reagan. Here is what I didn't like: I thought I was reading a book about Gia Carangi and
her life. Instead, I got more than I bargained for. If you want an education on the modeling industry during the time, this
is the book for you. Me, I was never interested in this industry, even as a teenager. The author's attempt to provide detail
of the modeling industry was like reading a textbook or maybe it was an explanation of one more thing to blame on Gia's demise.
It might have escalated the downward spiral but the real source behind Gia's addiction was her childhood. There is no doubt
in my mind, after reading this book, the the sole source for Gia's addiction was her dysfunctional family. The author's attempt
to use the modeling industry, the culture of that time period, Reagan cutting funding for public drug rehab, did not convince
me otherwise. Yes, this is a very sad story and I am very glad I read it. I have been surfing the web to see the collection
of covers and pictures of this incredibly beautiful person. It definitely left an impression on me. I just think this story
could have been told in a more personal, more concise way.

If a woman was in need of Love it was not GIA. She had so many people that she hurt and destroyed because of her drug abuse.
She was a little girl that needed t o grow up. However, we will never know who she will become because of AIDs. She was a
druggie and a Lesbian prostitute who never got to shine her bright beautiful light.

One of the saddest books I have ever read. Gia seemed to have it all, looks, photographed great, travel, money etc...everything
but the love and stability you yearned for.She died destitute, and people from the modeling world still did not know of her
death until months afterwards.Friendships are fast and fleeting in the modeling world. The super models who came through unscathed
seemed to be those with very close family ties such as Christie Brinkley and Cindy Crawford. They had genuine friendships
outside the modeling world. I think her mother was protecting her from the awful world of the tabloids. What a picture the
beautiful Gia, dying of aids. It would have been all over the world.A good read for any aspiring model and her family to read. She
died because people just didn't care enough, as long as that perfect shot came through.

If you like giant monster movies, and want to know more about how they were made, this book is for you. Not many photos of
the monsters (there are other books out there for that) but there are behind the scenes photos. Learn the biographies of
the men who made films you still love after all these years. Not much has been published in the West about them, but here
it is! Well written and laid out. 2 page essays about certain film makers by noted Western Kaiju lovers. Worth the price,
and thankful that it was printed.

This book is a meticulous, thoughtful, well-written, and beautifully laid-out tribute to a true master of special effects.
It is a fascinating look, not only into Tsuburaya's life and career, but also the way the film industry works in Japan. An
interesting read for non-fans; a must-have for fans of the genre.
This is a GIFT.

Tsuburaya Eiji was the Japanese special effects director who was behind so many monster movies that came out from Japan during
the 1950s and 1960s. This is a pictorial biography of Tsuburaya Eiji that proves to be very well written and informative.
I found the book to be rather insightful as the author included inserts written by men who worked with or worked under Tsuburaya
Eiji during his career. The book also comes well illustrated with photographs and movie posters on almost every page as it
traces the life and time of Tsuburaya Eiji's career. It was interesting to note that during World War II, he made a movie
made from miniatures that showed the attack on Pearl Harbor. It was so realistic that during the initial post war period,
Americans thought it was the real thing. Tsuburaya Eiji was also the man who made Godzilla what he was and creator of the
Ultraman series that is still going on to this day.
Overall, this book is definitely worth your time and money to read over and treasure. Tsuburaya Eiji is one of the great pioneers of motion picture industry regarding special effects and his influence help shape this industry to this day. His influence in the science fiction genre will remains pretty strong as monster movies like Cloverfield still hit our theaters and on DVD to this day. The book strongly reflects the heydays of Japanese monster movie era history and it will remind many of us, the fun and wonder these movies brought us during our younger days. And it will inform otherwise misinformed that there is more to these movies then just a "guy in the monster suit" concept.
(And yes, I am writing the subject's name in Japanese style...sur name first always...Tsuburaya Eiji is the way you would address him if he was still alive today...as you would with any Japanese national.)
