wonderful story about a legend in the film arts. Ernest Borgnine has made a place for himself with many of the legends of cinema. His face will always be one you remember and his variety of roles just goes to show his talent for being the character he plays...and plays well.

A fun read for any movie buff, ERNIE is Ernest Borgnine's wonderful, open autobiography that touches on virtually everyone who was anyone in Hollywood from the 1950s to the 1980s. Borgnine is very honest in his praise for co-star/mentors like Spencer Tracy, Burt Lancaster and Lee Marvin. He also lets it be known that while he appears to have gotten along with EVERYONE, there were the occasional sour apples (Shelley Winters drove him crazy when they got together for a Love Boat episode, Jan Michael Vincent was a trainwreck during their AIRWOLF days and Gene Hackman was extremeley standoffish on the set of THE POSIEDON ADVENTURE (surely Borgnine's most famous movie).

Never what you'd call a typical leading man, Borgnine still had the good fortune to share the screen with a bevy of major leading ladies (Joan Crawford, Susan Hayward, Bette Davis [twice!], even Raquel Welch [again, twice!]). He's candid about his marriages, including the infamous few days with Ethel Merman. There are stories about Sinatra, Steve McQueen, Sam Peckinpah and even Don Rickles (they performed in a very off-Broadway revival of THE ODD COUPLE).

Borgnine, like his signature character MARTY, is self-effacing, very grateful for a LONNNGGGG career and has written a terrific, very conversational autobiography.

Pleasant man, pleasant book

It is great that one can reminiscence at 91 as positively as Ernie Borgnine. He seems to be warm-hearted person, who evaluates people with kindness. There is no deep analyses of films, if somebody wants those, but simple talk about his experiences with film people and also others who have influenced him. This is a fast read and gives a good feeling.

Borgnine has always been good even in quite poor films. This and his long history in films and TV gives him a special right to tell his story. He is able to see both his life and his films realistically without regret or boasting. This is not a great book, but very pleasant to read.

After reading the biography of Academy Award winning actor, Ernest Borgnine, I wish that I could have the pleasure of meeting him. And if he knew that, he would readily make it happen. This book is so much fun to read, with so very many wonderful stories of what happened behind the scenes of his great career. I loved him in McHale's Navy and thought that the movie Marty was just outstanding. He is even more of an outstanding person than he is an actor. What a gentle man and it was a real treat to enter into his life for a few hours. Oh yes, Mr. Borgnine, I do remember most of your parts and will certainly heed your advice the next time I pick up a good cigar. Ernie: What a guy!!!! This is a must read for all of us who remember this wonderful gentleman and actor.

A light reading bio

Mr. Borgnine presents his fascinating career with a light touch. Although he does not go into mindnumbing detail he does provide his view of his movies and the stars that worked with him.
Some people decry him for not revealing the dirt on some of his fellow actors, I find it refreshing that he does not disparge people who no longer can defend themselves.
A good light read on the life of an enduring star.

There is no doubt you have spent your money in the right place if you buy this book. Wanna run dungeons one time, with all the quests in your log, buy this book and its made simple.

Very good for the beginning Dungeon adventurer.

For many WoW players, one of their first group activities is the dungeon adventure. Therefore, this book isn't just good in showing you how to defeat the big boss and what great loot is there, it also gives you hints on how to interact with the other players. And let's face it, the screen loading hints only tell you so much! With this guide, there is a lot of info on what each class can do and how best to be part of a team, so that you don't anger the other players by accident or on purpose. After all, WoW is first and foremost a multiplayer game, and the dungeon adventure is the biggest element of the mutliplayer interactivity (other than PVP).

This book can use an update, but even in this state, it's still very useful today. Highly recommended for a novice WoW player.

Good Source of Info for New Players

If you're semi-new to the game and never ran the dungeons listed in this guide, then this will come in very handy. Most of us old-school WoW players know the info provided, but not all of it. I'm an Alliance player but when I created a Horde character this guide helped loads with instance quest info and such. And I still use it when trying to remember the pattern for the ST statues on my alts. ^_^;;

Good Features:
- Instance maps.
- Very detailed walkthoughs and strategies for each instance.
- General info about all instances such as level, location, types of mobs within, etc. so you're always prepared.
- Details about every quest associated with the dungeon. This includes chain quests. (I want to express how awesome this part is... It tells you the quest givers, where to find them, the level requirement, description on what to do to complete the quest, and where to turn it in. Even lists rewards.)
- Pictures of the instance. Hey, pictures are always good!

Bad Points:
- The loot table needs work. It's horribly organized and laid out.
- The suggested "group make ups" and tips are off. Most of it is oppinionated and incorrect. (Other than the general "Need a tank, healer, CC, DPS" parts.... which are "duh")
- You could get all this info on thottbot or other sites for free. =P (However I personally like to have a solid book full of info to read when I'm off the comp or whatever. But that's just me.)

So yeah, go ahead and pick it up. Even if you're like me and don't really "need" it, or you use thottbot... it's still a nice guide for the price and you can take it with you wherever. If nothing else it's an interesting read.

You think you need it, but you don't. Really.

A seemingly good idea in concept, an unbelievably bad idea in reality.
These guides suffer from a few issues, that ultimately make them a bad purchase.

(1.) Obviously a printed guide for an online game, won't be up-to-date, but these guides are hopelessly out of date. This fact alone makes these guides a complete and total waste of money. If you really want a guide, buy the .PDF version from Brady's website or ask Amazon to carry the .PDF version. The .PDF version is updated periodically throughout the year.

(2.) Due to the nature of all the games being released at any given time, there are lots of guides to write. Understandably they must be pressed for time. But these guides seem to have be so rushed that there are typos, incorrect information and missing information. Mistakes like these can make the guide unusable at times.

(3.) Any guide will likely be used by newer players. They will need to find information quickly and easily. Whoever setup these guides doe not understand information design or the essential needs of a new player. Even if you skip reason 1 and 2, when you actually use the guide, you will likely be frustrated many times.

For they quickest way to find WoW info and answer your questions bookmark wowwiki.com, wowhead.com and thottbot.com

Decent aid for WoW

This reference work may have been more helpful when it first came out, but now it lags behind the actual content that it is attempting to reveal. The work covers all of the instances from the original game (before any patches) and does so in alphabetical order as opposed to a more-helpful level-of-instance organization. On its own merits, it provides a sound basic understanding of the instances level 1-60 players may encounter. In addition, it also goes into the single and chain quests for each faction that are part of each dungeon--especially helpful if you want to go after Onyxia, for example, which involves the longest chain in the pre-BC game.

The work does suffer from several problems, though. Blizzard has released numerous patches and updates since the book's publication, rendering much of the content obsolete. The typeface and layout of the book tend to be quite wearying on the eyes, so spending a lot of time reading it in one sitting is not advisable. Finally, Brady seems to have cut the budget for proofreading, as there are numerous spelling and typographical errors in the work. This last point may seem trivial, but if WoW had as many mistakes in it as this book has, gamers would have run away from it in frustration long ago.

While this work is still helpful in several aspects, its age (in computer gaming terms, anyway) prevents it from being an end-all, be-all for the WoW gamer. The reader should use it for a general overview of what a dungeon is all about, but then should use the constantly-updated resources online to give the specifics as to how to run each dungeon and to keep up with all the modifications that Blizzard has made since this work's publication.

Liked AC before - respect him (more) now

I trust major newspapers more than the broadcast media, but there are trustworthy stalwarts who stand out on the tube. Anderson Cooper is one such person.

I "only" knew him to be a reporter with integrity, and who was unafraid to challenge the blatantly self-serving blather days after Katrina hit, drawing upon the observations of his own eyes, and sympathetic to the plight and indignities of the NOLA residents.

Andersen shared enough of his family background, both privilege and tragedy, to provide another element of respect. This is a man who could easily have coasted on family fortune, hobnobbed in the Hamptons, and lived a leisurely, carefree life. He committed himself to a career, and was compelled to go to the sorriest (and riskiest!) places and situations on Earth. The memoir itself is an easy read. It's informative on events he witnessed. AC shares enough of his background to provide perspective, but it is fact and background only - no rosy glasses, no salacious tidbits. Enough.

If you think this guy is likeable, read this book. By the time you finish, you'll respect him.

This book is fantastic! I purchased it and read the entire book within 72 hours. His descriptions of the accounts are breathtaking. The section that touched me most was about Katrina and the Aftermath. I lived in New Orleans as a volunteer relief worker for 1 year, November '06 - October '07. It was a life changing experience for me. The experiences I had begin 14 months after the storm. To read Anderson's accounts, just hours and days following the storm, it was unbelieveable. To read his accounts from the view of someone who was choosing to be there, it's amazing. I recommend this book to everyone.

I don't remember when the name or the face of Anderson Cooper first entered my consciousness, but over the past few years he has grown to be one of the most recognized and respected journalists on TV--a guy whose demeanor and candor inspire trust and belief. In this autobiography, Cooper reveals the inner pain and doubt that both torment him and drive him to become better at his craft. His own painful experiences make him empathetic to the pain of others, perhaps best personified in his clearly emotional questioning of Senator Mary Landrieu over the mishandling of Katrina (transcribed in the book, watchable on YouTube). Did he cross a line in that interview? Probably. But for an audience tired of politicians' soundbites passing as real news and numb to talking heads who mistake emotional vacancy for stoicism, or conversely, show emotion in a thinly-veiled attempt to push their own agenda, Cooper's search for accountability when people are suffering in silence is quite refreshing. Finally, a journalist who seems to be on "our side": the side of the Objective Truth. Someone we can root for.

At the same time, his inner demons, his search for answers in a world where very little is explainable by logic, and a nagging self-doubt that he has become what he loathes most--an apathetic, cynical vulture feeding off the pain of others--makes for an interesting portrait of a man searching for a reason for optimism while perched on the brink of despair and madness. His accounts are compelling, addictive, numbing, and inspiring ... this book is hard to put down, and by the end of it the reader gains a greater appreciation for a world full of both beauty and brutality, and the men and women who choose to make a living out of uncovering both the light and the shadows for the consumption and education of the general public.

This is a great poker book. Easy to read and understand. I think it has taken my game to the next level. However, it is not a good book for beginners. This book assumes you all ready know how to play poker and teaches you how to think and play like a pro. There are some great books out for beginners, but this book is not one of them. However, This book is a must have for advanced players. It was worth every penny.

Good text but very complex

I used to be an avid poker player but had to slow down when I got married and had kids. Anyway ... this book is a good text on breaking down how one should/could approach thinking mathematically about the issues in no limit hold'em. One key concept for me was how buying in short kept me mathematically from getting burned so much, because I overplayed top pair top kicker when stakes are 100BB+. It is definitely not for the casual player and requires some study to understand the concepts. I've read this book as well as the Slanksy and Miller No Limit text. This one is better, but only marginally. In all honesty, both have not "done it" for me like the Small Stakes Limit Hold-em text or even Slansky's Hold'em for Experts, which are both clearer and very informative. Perhaps that is because no limit is a more complex game or the concepts in limit are easier to convey. I'm hoping that Harrington on Cash (which should be released any day now -03/08) is better in than these texts. Nonetheless, I fully intend to finish the series if they publish more. (What else would I buy with those pokerstars FPPs?)

Plan-the-hand

Review Date: 2008-04-06
A book that highlights the message "plan-the-hand" for NL play. Sounds simple. In reality it often isn't.
The authors take you through the planning proces and give advise that is very helpful, not just in theory but also in the heat of the battle. Key advise is, prior to making a pre-flop bet, to decide on which flops you do want to commit your stack and on which flops you don't, and to estimate for your starting hand the percentages of both types of flops. Subsequently bet/raise pre-flop such that you realise the right stack-to-pot ratio on the flop for the purpose of your planned post-flop play. The authors give practical advise for various classes of starting hands/flop combinations what is the optimal stack-to-pot ratio. Some of the analysis leads to pre-flop betting that - prior to reading the book - I would have classified as over-betting. However, the analysis in the book is sound, and it definitely helps keeping a robust rational approach to the game.

Worthy Read

I've read and re-read all the classics (i.e. Theory of Poker, Super System, Harrington on Hold em, etc etc etc) I cannot say for sure that this book is a classic, but I definitely feel that it stands out amongst all other poker books who have not yet acheived classic status but still want you to pay classic prices. Other reviews give specifics about SPR (stack to pot ratio), planning hands, and other topics in the book, I wont get in to that. I will say that they manner that these topics are presented in the book are innovative, straightforward, and an advantage to the strategy of a serious poker player. Will the use of planning your hand before the flop allow you to outplay your opponents and show a profit? Maybe - Maybe not, but the thought process of how to use this information is a definite advantage because I feel that many players think exploitively but not necessarily in the context that this book presents the material. Poker is the type of game where if you are static instead of dynamic, good opponents will exploit your tendencies. This book gives a different perspective on (i.e pot odds) ratios when discussing SPRs. This book is the type of reading that will truly improve your game because it causes you to think on a different level. When you think on a different level it always improves your game because it adds variables that you consider in making important decisions. The more information you have to make that decision, you will undoubtedly make better decisions. In my opinion, the method that they present some of the material is not discussed in any other book I've ever read, which to me indicates that they're doing something right.

Worthwhile, but not worthy of all the glowing reviews

I just completed reading this book, and I'm an active NL cash player. My overall impression: the book was absolutely worth the money, and worth the time spent reading. I'll get Vol II. I'd recommend the book to my poker playing friends.

Clearly, I think the book is overall pretty good. I don't, however, think the book deserves the level of praise it's getting here, because it does have it's flaws. Much of the core of the book revolves around SPR (simply: effective stack size / pre-flop pot size), and manipulating the pre-flop betting to get you the SPR that is ideal for your hand. But *why* are those SPRs desirable? He determines it based on how many pot-sized bets it takes to get you all in. That is a flaw, in my opinion - he builds into the math the assumption that bets and raises are the size of the pot. Sure, sometimes they are, but often they are not.

Don't get me wrong: your stack size absolutely effects how you play different types of hands. But he takes the idea of specific SPRs way further than it should really go; it's pretty core to his play style.

Another pet peeve I had was places where he recommended get pot committed / all-in "so that you don't have to face any tough decisions later in the hand". (He is not the only author that gives this advice, but it rankles me everywhere I see it). Basically he is saying, get your whole stack in, so that you don't have to make choices later. I think choices are a good thing, especially given that I'll see more cards and have a better basis for making decisions later - I don't want to self-limit my choices ahead of time! That advise is only worthwhile to someone who habitually gets bluffed off the best hand.

Over all, though, the book was good and I felt I got some valuable ideas from it. I like his ideas about planning out a whole hand early, and deciding if you will or will not get committed to a pot before you have put much into it. (I see so many players that call a few bets and suddenly realize on the turn that they already have 1/3 of their chips in).

Get it, read it, learn it, but in my opinion, take it with a (small) grain of salt.

In the late 1940s and early 1950s, professional wrestling and Gorgeous George went hand in perfumed hand. It was the ultimate "match made in heaven" and the budding television industry couldn't get enough of this bender of rules and purveyor of sniff. Due to his enormous success, Gorgeous George may have had imitators along the way, but he remained always, the original thing.

John Capouya largely captures the ups and downs of George Wagner's life and career...its many triumphs inside the ring and its disastrous failures outside the squared circle. Gorgeous George was "sui generis" and inspired several future celebrities such as Muhammad Ali and Bob Dylan. But the real story here is George and his connection with wrestling as a lifestyle and as a promotion with its sexual subtext. Wrestling, by its nature, is a homoerotic sport, and George played the edges to a fault. Could he have been a star today? I doubt it with the plethora of today's luminaries crossing all sorts of lines. Good vs. bad was more clearly defined a couple of generations ago, whereas now, the boundaries are often nonexistent.

As with many stars of the first order, Gorgeous George could not keep up a life equal to the one he had on stage. His drinking led to his premature death and his marital relations were often in tatters. Capouya's narrative tends to get goofy sometimes, distracting from the larger elements of George's popularity. But if we all wish we had our own fifteen minutes of fame, Gorgeous George had hundreds of hours of being in the public eye to last a lifetime. It's sad that he could never find the happiness, himself, that he brought to millions of others.

George's outrageous costumes, hair and effeminate mannerisms enraged/delighted wrestling fans all across the country.Read, laugh, learn and enjoy what wrestling was in the "kayfabe" era.Bravo.

In the early days of TV in my life, I remember my aged aunt sitting in her mohair chair screaming in Swedish at the small, black and white image of Gorgeous George prancing across the screen. What she said, I'd not wish to repeat, but it did have some reflections on his parents and some mention of bodily functions. Otherwise, my aunt was prim and proper... we kids would sit out stunned at what we were hearing. This book does some justice to George, but doesn't quite get ot the impact on small town middle American as I recollect it.

Today's fans of the WWE's "entertainment" version of Professional Wrestling now have a chance to read about how the kayfabe era of the business was. For fans of that generation, mention Gorgeous George, and the stories start to unfold. Author John Capouya absolutely reveals the way it was, and shows all of us a Gorgeous George that even the most rabid fans did not know.

His account of George's career is chronicled in a way that is easy to follow, and he end's up giving us a book that is hard to put down.

As I read through his account of George's ups and downs, I felt like I was back sitting ringside again, watching the "Human Orchi" strut his stuff in the squared circle....and I could almost see him throwing those gold "Georgie Pins" to the crowd.

John also gives us an insightful personal side to George Wagner, who lived the life, and sadly boozed it all away. John's research and homework into George's background is to be commended.

Over the last decade, there have been many excellant books published on pro wrestling.....but John's book is "The Main Event". It is a must read, and one that you will read again, and again.

Paul Newman - A man for all seasonings

John D. Rockefeller, Sr. struck gold in oil in the 1870s and, if memory serves, gave $524,890,792.07 to charity during his lifetime. More recently, Paul Newman struck gold in salad dressing and, similarly, has given over $200 million to such causes. This book, among other things, tells us how he was able to do it.

But that isn't the reason I read this book. I didn't read it to learn about the grocery business or about how Newman became a successful entrepreneur. I certainly had no desire to learn how to make salad dressing, and, despite the book's rather glib title, I didn't read it to be entertained. I had simply heard so much, and yet so little, for so long about "Newman's Own" salad dressing, his charitable contributions, and his "Hole in the Wall Gang" camp that I wanted to know more about him and about them. And this book did not disappoint.

For, along with gaining a much broader insight into the grocery business and a much better understanding of how to make salad dressing, I also got to see just how far honesty, integrity, persistence, and a little flamboyance can get you - especially if you have a prominent name and an outstanding product, and your heart is in the right place. And Newman's heart, and that of his partner, A. E. Hotchner, certainly were in the right place, especially when Paul finally relented and agreed to be pictured on every bottle of salad dressing - but only if all profits made from their sale went to charity. From then on, the business which they had started as a lark took on a life of its own and carried them along in its wake.

It is hard to summarize this book since the achievements which it outlines are simply too great. In keeping with its title, it is written in a jocular vein and, for the most part, is written in such a way as to downplay the contributions of the authors. But the good works which they have done, especially with their "Hole in the Wall Gang" camp for desperately ill children and the similar camps which their efforts have inspired, and which they have supported, around the world, speak for themselves. They must be justly proud. They are definitely men for all seasonings. Now go out and buy a bottle or two of "Newman's Own." I did.

First Half is EXCELLENT!!!!

The first half of this book is excellent!! The authors may not have intended it, but the first half offers great business advice as it details the amazing story of how Paul Newman was able to get his homemade salad dressing bottled and sold in stores. It's also very funny. Just an amazing story of taking risks, not accepting "no" for an answer and following your vision. The only reason I didn't give this little book five stars is because the second half loses steam. The first half offers all the details of how Newman and Hotchner worked to sell their idea, but once the book shifts to pasta sause and the charity works, it's more an overview but they are not as involved. It's great that they helped that many charities and established the great summer camps for children, but those stories are told factually and not with the humor and insights of the creation of the salad dressing. It's still a very good book and I learned a lot from it. I will also be glad to buy his products because they taste good and they help a lot of people.

'Shameless Exploitation' is actually two books in one - you get the tale of how the 'Newman's Own' started as a germ of an idea in Paul Newman's garage. Newman was legendary back then for commandeering the kitchen of restaurants he would frequent and whipping together his own salad dressings. He and co-founder Hotchner make light of their lack of business knowledge, but it's worth noting that much of their success is based on their innate sense of what is right, for example their unwillingness to compromise on the freshness of their product.

The latter third of the book details the duo's efforts in starting up the 'Hole in the Wall Gang' camps for sick children. The authors are passionate about this endeavour, as well they should be. It's outstanding work they're doing. Newman personally drives these projects, sometimes through the force and magnetism of his personality.

In fact, that's the thing that stands out in the book - this is no 'slap the celebrity name on the bottle' exercise. These two gentlemen are intimately involved in all aspects of the business. There's a comparison in the book to other celebrity food bits good bad - Frank Sinatra's tomato sauce venture is one example. It ran aground in less then two years, an unmitigated disaster. The difference? Sinatra simply loaned out his name and looked to scoop up the profits. By contrast, Newman and Hotchner are in this thing heart and soul. Plus, the product is superlative. That's the only way to get repeat buyers.

As of the book's printing, Newman's Own has donated over $137 million to charity. When they write Paul Newman's epitaph, that first paragraph is going to be a real stemwinder to capture the essence of the man.

Wonderful & Inspiring--and not your average business book.

This book is a fun light read, about a foray into business by the seat of their pants. This is certainly a sucess story that flies in the face of Strategic Planning.

Newman and Hotchner had great and expensive advise from the traditional gurus of business, and for their own reasons they went the exact opposite way, and it came through in spades.

This is realy refreshing in the business world, a smalltime producer of an innovative and all natural product subverting the traditional modes of business. Years before words like "all natural" and "organic" were in regular use at grocery stores, Paul Newman, of all people, was sneaking in under the radar and getting shelfspace and loyal customers.

Not only is their product good & fun, but in another 'accidental twist' they give one hundred percent of their profits ot charities. 100%! This fact alone was enough to make me read the book, and so many redeeming qualities made it hard to put down.

The book is light and not layden with industry jargon, has a bunch of entertaining anecdotes, cartoon strips, personal letters from customers and children, and a visually pleasing layout. The two are never self congratulatory, in fact they are more apt to poke fun of themselves and be modest..a pleasant aftertaste.

The second half of the book centers around the Hole in the Wall Gang Camps the pair set up for seriously ill children. These camps not only made a huge difference in the life of these campers but set off a series of these camps around the world.

The distance of our reach is far beyond what we ever dreamed.

This book will not disappoint, is fun, and a refreshing tale of business and life on your own terms.

Entrepreneurship 101

Everything I ever needed to know about successful entrepreneurship I learned from SHAMELESS EXPLOITATION. 1) It begins with a creative product, not in the search for a way to make money (sorry, Mr. Sinatra). 2) It begins with a product that fills a hole in a market (in this case, salad dressing made with fresh ingredients, no additives, conspicuously absent from mainstream grocery store shelves back in 1980). 3) Time-honored production and marketing methods can also be time-ragged and not right for your product. 4) Ask questions of everyone you know. 5) Put out a little venture capital and don't overreach (these guys put out $40,000 and lived within those means). 6) Don't compromise the integrity of your product, find ways to accommodate it. 7) There are other ways to publicize the product other than expensive advertising. 8) A movie star's name means nothing; it's all in the product and the hard work that goes into it (sorry, Frank). 9) You have to love and believe in your product. 10) You have to love the process of getting the product out there. 11) If you build it, they will come.

Everything I ever needed to know about pursuing the common good I learned from SHAMELESS EXPLOITATION: 1) Just do it. 2) Invite everyone to participate. 3) Miracles can happen.

Everything you ever needed to know about this book: 1) It's a fast read. 2) It's an honest read. 3) It's an insightful read. 4) It's an inspiring read. 5) The part about the charities served by Newman's own will blow your socks off. 6) The authors are highly entertaining tour guides of their adventure. 7) There are a few recipes to boot. 8) It is refreshingly free of those simplistic aphorisms that plague most business world books.

This woman is delusional...

When I read Karrine's first book, I felt that she was delusional to believe that she had evolved into something other than a wounded, promiscuous "vixen". In her second book, it cemented my first belief about her. She is probably the most delusional person I have ever had the misfortune to read about. She believes her stories about the various men she slept with for money has made her a "celebrity", instead of the joke she is. I have never seen someone refer to themselves as "best selling author" so many times in a book! She comes off bitter, childish, and still doesnt get why she is the girl a man calls for some fun, but marries someone else! Every chapter outlined her emotional merry go rounds that was usually tied to a man-if she wasnt at a party, she was in a man's bed or in a psych ward, and I felt sorry for her son every chapter. I cringe to think of the values he is learning from this person. Her happiness, self worth and beliefs directly coincides with her possessions and how much money she has in the bank. Andthen for her to out "Papa" at the end, the man she claims she loves and respects so much and who now has to face his wife, was deplorable(even though it was widely rumored it was this person, anyway). To wrap this up, I found myself rolling my eyes as I read chapter after chapter of her self proclaimed celebritydom, and was glad when it ended. I felt sorry for her son throughout, and my only hope for Karrine is that she gets some true help so that she can be the mother her son deserves.

This book is an excellent example of how a person can easily be distracted when trying to accomplish certain goals.
While Karrine's story may be considered an extreme; she is a mirror of the many women that have a problem distinguishing the difference between love and sex.
This book is also a great read for all the juicy celebrity gossip as well!

She Has Managed To Do It Again

Karrine Steffans has written another book about her personal life. This book was much different but yet quite the same as Confessions of a Video Vixen. She shares very intimate parts of her life and her love in the spotlight with her readers. In some ways you see a growth in her and in other ways you don't.

This book goes into details of relationships and the effects that they have on her. She clearly displays how damaging and destructive they are for her and how addicted she is to them. Through the eyes of a reader I see the pain she is in, not for failed relationship but for the lack of them. She seems to equate love and sex as one of the same. As one reads they see the confusion that dwells inside and it makes you empathize with her and also makes you wonder why or what happened that has left her scared to the point that she has not opened her eyes to see.

Karrine Steffans, leave much to be desired of her parenting practices. Even though she don't go into many details of her son's life it leads me to believe that she may not be parenting but simply allowing her child to live under her roof. Unfortunately, this happens in a lot of households of especially young parents. I also wonder who is with him during her nights out.

After reading this book I felt a need to try and reach out to Ms. Steffans. I wanted to give her words of encouragement to keep pressing forward. I was particularly concerned in the first book about the drug usage and how was she going to clean that portion of her life up. However, reading Vixen Diaries I realize she was not addicted to the drugs but more addicted to a lifestyle. The drugs were just apart of it but never a real issue. Her underlying issues seem to still be ever so present in her life yet, she is learning new ways to deal with them.

I would recommend this book only if you have read the first one. I would love to read more as this young lady continue to press forward in life. My prayers are definitely with her and more importantly Naiim her son.

Well where do I start? This book was absolutely garbage. It was written in the form of Diary entries. Who really cares what Karrine does in her everyday life. This book gets a big fat yawn from me and is now proudly propped up underneath my air conditioner to help hold it in place.

It is obvious this author did not write the first book and even more obvious she was locked in a two book deal and had to throw something together quick before she had to give all the money back she constantly talked about in the book.

This Book Was A Waste Of Time

What a waste. All she talked about was Bill (old), Bobby Brown (played out), and Ray J (lame-o). Then she talks about how she's a celebrity, all about class and culture, and doesn't need to depend on anybody to provide for her. Yet, she's still quick to jump in the sack with anyone who shows any kind of interest in her. The majority of the time these guys only want her for one thing: sex. Then they go back home to their wives and girlfriends. It's amazing that a so-called accomplished career woman who has it "all" would be so desperate enough to sleep with any guy who crosses her path. I see a pattern here, but obviously she doesn't. She talks about how how much she loves her son, yet she continues to have many strange men coming in and out of their loves, using her for a cheap thrill. What type of an example is she setting for her son? Despite her whorish reputation I'm surprised that a lot of guys want to be with her. Jamie Fox was smart not to touch that. From what I've heard she's now writing a book called "Vixen Manuals"- "a book about love, sex and relationships through the eyes of a woman". Is that a joke? Think twice before spending any money on her books.

I have seen pimpin ken on tv and ddecided to see what his book was all about. After recieving the book I started reading it and was hooked..I read and re-read the book and really grapsed all the information. Do not let the book title fool you, this is more a motivational and information based book on how to better yourself. Great book and I would highly recommend it.

Bottom line Pimpin Ken has pimped the game of life once again.
Any of these laws can be used as a road map to success in any career tract chosen.

It is apparent though he left out a large amount of the deep parts of the game of pimpin' but it is more information than any other book on this topic to date.

After reading PIMPOLOGY, I would place it in the same category as Niccolo Machiavelli's THE PRINCE. Like he states in the book, he is NOT promoting the trafficking of flesh. However, he does give a lesson about human nature. When I read it, there were experiences he's had that I witnessed from my college coaches, former bosses and other characters in business. Just because his background deals with pimping at a street level, I'll go to what he states in the last chapter. He states that the oldest pimp game on Earth is the same as what builds nations: the control of money and people to achieve an objective or series of objectives.

It's really a book about power and how it's used as a means to an end. Besides, it may help the reader recognize when a "pimp" game is being run on them and devise a counterattack to the game.

That should be the title. Very few new things to learn. The rest can be found in other motivational books. It seems that he tried to fill pages of pimp knowledge with unrelated subjects to make a book.

DON'T BUY THIS, ALL HE DOES IS TALK ABOUT HOW HE MADE IT IN THE GAME & THE RULES THAT HE STOOD BY, NO INSTRUCTIONS FOR YOU "LIMPS". I READ IT JUST TO READ IT. BUT IF YOU READING IT TO BE A "PIMP" DON'T QUIT YOUR DAY JOB.
