Inspiration Books

This is one of the best books ever! I love it! It brings forth positive messages in such cloudy times as these.
The sun shines through as you flip from page to page and the day begins to clear up. I love everything from beginning to end. It has given me tools to deal with on a daily basis to strengthen my faith in the now. It is a book based on sacred truths preached in the days of old but made current to our situation today. It is a must read for anyone who seeks truth, who asks questions and who wants positive solutions. Thank you very much David and Nick! You guys are superheroes!! Read this book and pursue the sunfood lifestyle....that is the way to live! May the force be with you!!

Be prepared if you are gonna take on this book-not likely for you if you are not receptive and open. I put this in my top 2 books out of my personal library of more than 1200 books (last count!) This is co authored by David Wolfe but is not all about the raw life (although it is a topic, as it should be!) but more into deep consciousness, if you can even call it that. This book I feel I can't even describe-that being a good thing. When words won't suffice only the experience will do. I had a very "special" nights sleep after reading this before bed-one of the strangest (meaning good, as strange usually defines out of the ordinary and that is always good!) sleeps I have ever had. I would love to meet and join those that read this and get it,love it and live it! Love you ALL!

This book seems to me the book next in line for David to publish based on his past books and his current knowledge base coupled with his excitement for gathering sacred knowledge and truth. I was really excited to open this book and see that he addresses topics that we who are fans of David can see he is interested in but perhaps hasn't really had the opportunity to take on, and really, i suspect he wanted to tackle them in a manner that was positive and shows a constructive means of dealing with issues (life difficulties on every level) that are other than the best ever. There is a lot of talk about conspiracy theories, big companies, petroleum, pharmaceuticals, agriculture and it tends to lead us into a negative conversation with really no sustainable methods to solving these problems because we end up in a battle of destructive ego rather than spirit centered awareness. They are huge problems that trickle down and effect us all in different ways. The way to begin change is within ourselves, our hearts, our intentions, our mindset and our CHOICES! Amazing Grace sheds light on this topic and, if taken in, it can be a powerful tool in transforming our thought patterns and making change in our lives which in turn stimulates universal change. For me it is powerful to see truth looked at so positively. And I don't think we live in a society where it has been on our map of possibility to recognize that we have the choice to make changes and have an opinion that is different from the path set before us by the powers that be, and we can smile and love the process, not hold onto anger but we can listen and take on a whole other energy that is transformative and sustainable, rather than destructive and closed off. Part of what makes this book and David extraordinary is that everything he's discussing can be valued on a literal level, but typically with truths, and with David's mind/life-path, there are deeper layers and interconnected truths that really bring about an awakening if one is available at that point to see it. And when one is ready one will, but either way these topics and bits of knowledge are priceless. Thank you for this book, Avocado. I really hope that it is the beginning, an introduction, and I look forward to the next one. Have the Best Day Ever!!

I bought this book a little less than a week ago when I heard David speak at Euphoria Loves Rawvolution in Santa Monica. I started reading it immediately and could not put it down! So many things written here are synchronistically lined up to things occurring in my life that I had ectsatic chills many times over...Kudos to you David and Nick, and a huge Thank You for the work you are doing for all of us!

This book is PHENOMENAL! Unbelievably phenomenal! It was so good that I recorded myself reading it aloud so I could ride around in my car and absorb every single morsel of its delicious brilliance. The entire world should read David and Nick's book!!!! IT IS TIME. It is time for the superheroes to catapult life and our amazing planet to new levels of unbelievable brilliance! I had the pleasure of meeting David personally the other week when he spoke at Rawvolution in Santa Monica. It is incredible to shake hands with a genius who is inspiring all of us to find the genius within ourselves. I recommend this book with utmost praise and bless its beautiful grace with all the unbelievable love in my exploding heart!!! IT'S TIME TO FLY!!!!!

The pictures in this book are GORGEOUS! I bought the book for a friends' son who had some questions. He's nine, still needs help with some words, but all in all BEAUTIFUL and worth it!!!

I found this book in a library when I was 10, and I immediately became enthralled by the stories and illustrations. What's especially amazing is that I was raised in a secular household. I think it seemed a little weird to my family that I loved this book so much. I found this book again in my step-mom's collection and it's still just as enchanting as it was then. The illustrations are colorful and lively, and the text gives me something to learn from even today. Even as a kid, I was interested in learning about the history of the early Church and Judaism. Today I am Christian and I hope that other children find Jesus through this book.

This Bible was just what we were looking for. Our son likes to listen to the stories (undiluted), while looking at the wonderful illustrations.

This beautifully illustrated children's Bible is perfect!! Highly recommended for parents, children, teachers and everyone!

First, this Bible is nicely illustrated with age-appropriate stories throughout. It follows the chronology of the Scriptures and like someone else pointed out, doesn't "dumb down" the stories. In appearance, this is a very good book, which is why I bought it in the first place.

That said, once you begin reading it, the "emperors clothes" begin to show. The author uses phrases like "In Jesus time, people believed..." as if this is something no longer believed. In every story, almost without exception, subtle phrases cast a shadow of doubt on the Bible as the Word of God. The hints and suggestions would lead you to believe that the Bible is just a collection of old stories and tales from the past and has no relevance for us today.

For this, I give this book a minimal rating. If you're trying to teach your kids to love the Bible, you're better off giving them a real Bible and taking time to lead them through a study of Scripture. Avoid this bit of subtly undermining literature and spend your money elsewhere.

I listen to this CD at least once a week, especially when old issues come up. It's always astounding to me how the media and even friends and family can perpetuate the Fear Factor, but like Louise would probably say, When an issue arises, it's there to be released. Thought is power and we can create a safe place in the world by changing our thoughts (which then change our actions). We can create our world. We are safe, secure and protected by love at all times. I found this to be somewhat of a duplicate of some of her other works.

What ever you do don't listen to this while you drive! It will put you right to sleep. It did not speak to me at all. This was not useful. I prefered the what the bleep do we know.

This book is full of fun projects that will provide much inspiration if and when I ever get around to tackling the field of altered art.

A well-illustrated compendium for this particular gentre of work. Informative at several levels,sound techniques,excellent projects and interesting contributions from various artists in the field. It exists at a variety of levels,enabling a wide range of abilities from practising artists to beginners, to gain inspirational information. A bonus is the artist's biographies and web-sites. A good companion to "Altered Art'

I had been eying this book for awhile now and was surprised when my husband got it for me for Christmas. I love it! It's well laid out and has very lovely photos. Quite inspirational!

This is a nice book and has some great ideas. But I don't work in metal or wood so it wasn't exactly what I was looking for. If you are interested in 'tin' or other metal mediums then this would be a very good book for you to see. I usually check books out of the public library first to be sure they are what I'm looking for but the library didn't have this book so I bought it sight unseen.

It is a very good book with a lot of nice photos.

I am so deeply in love with this book! Each idea is fresh and new and the pictures make everything really clear. I haven't even finished it (although I've had it for quite a while) because I'm trying out the new mixed media ideas on projects as I go.....kinda savoring each section and saving the rest for later ...so many ideas! So little time!

Usually I have nothing but praise for the "For Dummies" guides. Not this time. I suspect the fatal flaw here centers on the "Bonus Audio CD!"--conjuring up associations with a prize in a Cracker Jack box. About halfway through the book it dawns why the material is flying over my head.

The CD is not incidental to the book. It's essential. "Bass Guitar" seems built around the CD. Kick out the CD prop and you'd have no book. I'm afraid the author assumed that a shiny piece of plastic would so dazzle that readers wouldn't notice the indifferent writing. It's a slight-of-hand that simply does not work.

I'm a new bass player and this book is great -- I actually sleep with it, hoping to absorb even more through osmosis. I love Patrick's straight-forward approach and sense of humor. While I haven't looked at many other bass guitar books, I like how this one uses music, tabulature and the grid to show what to play. The initial/basic exercises are great for a beginner like myself, and make of lot of sense in the learning process. The CD is helpful, but it keeps playing straight through from one example/track to the next. I might need to change the settings on my computer or CD player, but I think it would be better if it stopped after each track so I could manually play the tracks, one-by-one, and look at the book at the same time to see exactly what is being played. Hopefully, when I become a great bass player, after using this book and practicing a lot, I will be quoted on the cover :) right up there with Adam Clayton.

I simply love the "For Dummies" book series. So, as a beginner in playing the bass, I had to purchase this book immediately and I found out that it's exactly as I expected: an introduction to the world of bass guitar, written in a funny manner, without the usual boring details that a "normal" guide would provide.

BOOK AND CD ARE A GREAT LEARNING TOOL BOTH WERE VERY GOOD.I RECOMEND IT FOR ANYONE JUST STARTING OUT LEARNING BASS GUITAR.

This is a great book for finger exercises and getting your hands in shape to play. In addition, I found that the discussions on theory really helped me to understand how bass player created their riffs. The only weak spot is there are not alot of songs to play with, but you can find those everywhere.

I highly recommend this book.

I love this deck! It helps to guide your thoughts every day. I buy them for gifts for people, they love them! It is truly a gift that keeps on giving!

These beautiful cards inspire just the way I hoped! I love the colours and the messages go right to the core of my beeing! I highly recommend them!

I keep one or two cards out on the table each day. I love the way they look and the affirmations keep me on track.

I love these cards but some do not fit my way of thinking. So just pick and choose the ones you like. There are enough to excuse the ones that are not so good. I love putting these cards around my house, or I read them before going to bed to give myself positive thoughts for sleeping. The quality of the cards is excellent--sturdy cards with a glossy finish. The artwork is whimsy. Have fun with these cards.

These cards are attractive. The messages are fine though hardly profound. A card deck I much prefer is the Relax Deck. The images are symbolic and the messages on the backs are deeper and more thought provoking. The Perfect Calm deck is another one I prefer over this.

I have faithfully followed all of the offerings presented for the daily OM, and also signed up for several of the special courses. I print out the lessons and allow those I sponsor to read over them, make notes, ask questions, or write answers for themselves. I work primarily with recovering alcoholic/addicted women, and after the initial period of abstinence and detoxification, in order to continue any measure of growth, it is imperative that each person finds new spiritual direction. Daily OM meets these needs in a special way.

I enjoyed the book so much I send it out to friends that I believe need a little inspiration in their life at that time. You can read a chapter and think about it and let it sink in. Victoria

As the writer of a daily Inspirational newsletter, I read Madisyn Taylor's Daily OM for its inspirational holistic approach to living.
It is an excellent daily read or a read as you chose book that helps develop your spiritual awareness and growth while providing support as you face life's many challenges.

As the title reads this is an inspirational and uplifting book teaching you to guide your life through conscious awareness. Mentioning healing, meditation and relaxation reminds me of the Law of Attraction (The Secret) and my favorite book on this, Living The Secret Everyday: My Secret Workbook. A great compliment to Inspirational Thoughts.

I read a couple of pages I will probably read more but I'm not captivated by it.

Every chapter was so interesting and had me wanting to read more! I fully enjoyed this book and can't wait to read the next one. Live Happy, Live until you Die!

I really enjoyed the final installment and story of Socrates. It was adventurous, exciting, educational, and emotional to the end. I felt that it really tied everything together and left me feeling a great understanding of the underlying story line.

"Sacred Journey of the Peaceful Warrior" is a wonderful book complete with revelations, challenges and philosophical depth along with ample doses of suspense and intrigue. The story is about a character who goes on Hawaiian adventures with a Shamanic teacher. The teachings are inherently based on ancient Hawaiian Huna wisdom.

Simply said, this book is amazing. It is straight from the mouth of God. I have purchsed this book for many friends in need of spiritual inspiration. I am about to buy another copy for myself since I have almost worn out the original. If the current day's reading does not resonate, ask God to show you something else, flip the pages and you will read what your soul needs. This is my favorite book of all time!!!!

This book is a masterpiece! It contains a wealth of knowledge on the foods and supplements we should eat to be our healthiest. It contains many helpful hints and brand names of healthful foods. I am sending a copy each to my two adult daughters.

I wanted a comprehensive list of the Superfoods because I have been trying to include them in my family's daily diet. This is a good book for this purpose. It gives good explanation of the value of eating each food. I definitely recommend this book if you want to eat better.

The total opposite of a deprivation diet. Now I work hard every day to eat the foods that are good for me, and now thanks to this book, I know what those foods are. This is surely better than spending my life trying to avoid foods I shouldn't eat. By the time I get finished with the super foods, I am so full, I couldn't even consider eating anything else. What I refreshing idea! Actually, I have never been able to find a way to consume all the superfoods in a day. Even with salads and smoothies, but what a neat challenge. I never felt better! Everyone says I look healthy, too.

This is a very good and thorough book detailing the 14 foods necessary for maintaining a healthy body and mind. Sadly my two staples, chocolate and coffee didn't make the cut but most of the other foods are things I eat on a regular basis so adding more of these things won't be a huge lifestyle change. You wouldn't think a book about 14 foods would fill a book without putting one to sleep but the author has written the book in such a way that it is easy to skim over the more detailed health benefits of each food and move on to the recipes. I skimmed initially to get a quick idea of what foods I should be focusing on and quickly scan the health benefits and later went back and read the nitty gritty details. For anyone wondering the 14 superfoods are: beans, blueberries, broccoli, oats, oranges, pumpkin, salmon, soy, spinach, tea - black & green, tomatoes, turkey, walnuts and yogurt. For more specific info. you'll need to grab a copy of the book ;)

Once I started reading this book I could not put it down! It is packed with so much information and I have been amazed at how good and alert I feel by changes I have made in my diet.I am a cancer survivor and this book is important to me to help prevent any other types of cancers or heart disease in the future. I also have heart disease in my family. I have been so impressed with this book that I bought 4 more books for my friends, one who was just recently diagnosed with cancer and the other who is a cancer survivor. I will be purchasing 4 more to give each of my children and siblings. So I say this book is a MUST READ!
