Inspiration Books

I lead a Bible study with 26 leaders who lead others. I found many helpful comments about leading and inspiring others to lead. I plan to use several of the sections for training and encouraging leadership.

I went to a John Maxwell seminar several years ago entitle "Winning with People". This seminar changed my life. I bought several of his books at the seminar and he graciously signed them for me. Go for Gold is a book that not only inspires you but it educates you also. Using some of John's techniques I have been able to change my life and see real results. The SECRET to achieving things in life is people and John Maxwell gives you the tools to interact with people and he truly has a heart for people.

Great book! Very factual and informative. I find the lessons learned in this book very useful in daily life. Very good read!

This one is fun! Dr. Dyer not only gives good advice, but can make you laugh at yourself. What better way to "improve"?

It's worth listening to, tho the book's probably better.
I felt a need for some hard, basic psychology (which he's qualified to furnish) to slide a foundational base under the new-age-y things I'd been listening to, or watching.
I sent it to my daughter, who's not such a hard-shelled veteran of the Dyer-esque materials, as I am. It's a good way for us "boomers" to review where we're coming from, before going foward to wherever we're going to, next.
If you lost your old copy of this book, it's probably a good way to refresh your memory.

The daily readings are well written, appropriate, inspirational and at times informative. This is a great way to start off your day whether you are running that day or not.

The Runner's Book of Daily Inspiration:A Year of Motivation, Revelation, and Instruction is most likely the best investment I have ever made. Last year, I made a resoltion to myself to get in shape, eat healthy, and basically be a fit person inside and out. This is not a very easy resolution to fulfill, as I soon found out. It was my plan to run at least 3 times a week, and supplement it with another form of aerobic exercise. Very quickly, I lost my motivation, and was not living up to my expectations. I came upon this book soon afterwards, and tried to regain my motivation. After restarting my exercise program along with reading this book, I am now running every day of the week, rain or shine, hot or cold, I run through it all, all due this very book. If you buy one book in your life, buy Catcher in the Rye. But if you buy two, buy this one too!

This book was given to me as a gift. Being a "novice runner" of two years, I found this book to be very motivational. It is very intuitive on the thoughts of runners and some of the obstacles runners may encounter and how to get beyond those barriers. I have thought it such an excellent book that I am suprised it is not readily stocked and available for 24 hour shipping, especially during the holiday season. You know us last minute shoppers. Great gift idea for the novice or avid runner in your life if you can find a copy of it in time.

I read this book every day and love it! Kevin Nelson gives practical, fun and whimsical advice to people who love (or want to love) to run.

This book is very helpful and provides tremendous insight and advice for life in general.

Wayne Dyer cleverly takes 60 philosophical and poetic gems, explains the significance of each and discusses ways to apply to everyday situations. Each gem is discussed in 4-6 pages, making this daily reading experience easy to work into the busiest of schedules. A nice sample of various thoughts that may inspire further readings. Regardless, a thought provoking book.

So True to Life Experiences, a book, I read portions of through out the year. Can feel and experience wisdom of past true heros! Wisdom to enlighten every age.

This past year is when I finally started my self-help book kick and happened to come across this gem... I cannot begin to say how incredible this book is. I became so engrossed in the book that at times I found it extremely hard to put it down and take it one day at a time like the title suggests. I love the way that Dr. Dyer interprets what many great minds wrote in this "greatest hits" of the greatest minds and truly believe that all readers will feel this same way. This book is a must have for anyone who wants to improve their lives for the better.

Wisdom of the Ages is another great read from Wayne Dyer!

The author picks 60 well-known wise historical figures, presents a poem or excerpt from their work, briefly describes their major accomplishments, interprets their message, character, trait, or contribution in 3 or 4 pages, and then shows us how we can apply those gifts and messages in our lives.

I enjoy all of Wayne's books, but this is his best to date. I usually take my time and savor his books, but this time I just could not put the book down.

This is not only a self-help book that we can use to emulate the character and traits of great people, but also a collection of interesting short biographical and historical sketches of brilliant people whose thoughts and ideas shape the thinking of our brightest leaders.

Read this book! You'll be glad you did.

Great book! Beth Moore did a great job on this one like all the rest of her! Anyone feeling "stuck" should pick this one up! Very uplifting and encouraging!

I found it to have a strong biblical foundation. Beth Moore is refreshingly open and candid and non-judgmental but also challenging. I would have given it five stars, but the book seemed to run out of steam at the climax -- it just didn't come together in grand fashion like the first 3/4 of the book. But I'm really glad I got to read it, and I will be re-reading parts of it. This is my first Beth Moore book, and I will be reading others.

As usual, Beth Moore gets to the point and gives real advice. She never "talks down" to you, she has been there too, and she is so positive in her outlook it becomes contagious. I highly recommend this book.

I was in a 'pit' when my cousin gave me this book. Not only did it help me to see I wasn't alone in my situation, but that God truly is the way to a better life. I've given this book to several people overcome by life's struggles and hope it helped them as much as it helped me.

I have been going through this book with a ladies devotional group and have really enjoyed the message of this book as well as the take aways from this book. It is always nice to have a book that you get so much out of that you want to pass on to others- this is definately a book like that! It has great study questions and prayers to follow with to help you glean important reminders from the book!

"Awakenings" is the fifth installment of the "Offerings for Humanity" series from this husband and wife team of photographers that creates these beautiful books. The wonderful photos are taken in settings such as villages in Laos, temples in Korea, and gardens in Japan. Along with the wise words of people like Confucius and Thich Nhat Hanh, this book is a treasure of beauty and wisdom.

I have all the books in the series, and can't recommend them highly enough. Amazon often has people selling these books at very reasonable prices, so I've been able to give away copies as gifts. It's fun to be able to share some beauty of the world with others.

Dick Sutphen, his work, his teachings, his books have been teaching me for over 30 years. He's been two jumps ahead of most metaphsycal authors for years. Thankfully the world is catching up and there are many wonderful books now available. This one is based on a specialty of Mr. Sutphen- Relationships, and it is one fascinating read! You will certainly find yourself in the pages, and you will gain insight and understanding to your relationships with the people who have come into (or out of) your life. The case studies read like great novelettes. The wisdom is simple yet profound. If you have a relationship with another human and want to gain greater understanding...then you must have this book. Soul Agreements was a great read. I have found all of Dick and Tara Sutphen's Books, Tapes, and CD's excellent teachings, and they always seem to hit the spot where I am in my life right now. I would recommend their products to everyone.

This quick, easy reading book made a large impact in my relationship. This book created a small check point for my recent emotional state. Am I searching in the right place for my soul mate? Am I too fickle or shallow to find a soul partner? It may not give you all the answers but, gives you much to work on in your quest. Good read !

Soul Agreements is a worthy book to read concerning angst -filled and dramatic true life stories. They shed some rays of light upon a very convuluted and murky path of this reality. It also involves Taras astrological reads that I enjoy. She is a very strong voice behind this book. The down side is a bit too much name dropping of rock stars, new age gurus, and Los Angeles vibes that I am not impreseed with.

The big hit comes from the real connections of Destiny knocking on the door in this reality for many of the participants in Soul Agreements.

I really enjoyed this book. It gives a lot of interesting information, some about people you know. There's a session on the actress from Facts of Life that's really interesting. It is more of a session log book for the different people that Dick and Tara have encountered, but you can draw your own conclusions from each session. It isn't a life planner if that's what you're looking for, but it does make you think about what choices you make and how critically important they can be about your goals for this lifetime.

Beautifully written. Inspiring and thought provoking. If you want some clear insight to help you gather momentum and live the life of your dreams this book will certainly inspire you to do so. Many blessings to Kurek for his honest and heartfelt words.

I purchased the book only because of the author, the title really annoyed me, but because I knew of Kurek I had to buy it...

I actually put off reading the book as the title just didnt grab me... But I picked it up a couple of weeks after I purchased it and I am glad I did..

It is an amazing book, and after 10 years down this path of growth, I love that he isn't just talking the talk, he has been there. I can relate to much of what he says...

This book isn't just a book on motivation, its a book on life... Yes you need to keep an open eye in places, but wow, what a ride..

If you skip this book, you may as well skip all the others as well.. This has something for everyone.

Kurek Ashley is a new discovery of mine and I am so pleased to have found his latest book, "How Would Love Respond? a work of art. You will get caught up in the writing and be enveloped in the consummation of love. Let go, let love in your life.

"How would love respond" I read in a weekend. once I picked it up I couldn't put it down. All I can say is buy it and read it.

I loved it so much I bought 17 of them, had Kurek sign them for me and gave them as gifts to my friends.

Do yourself a favour and get it.

I thoroughly enjoyed Kurek's book. It is inspiring and easy to read. Are you in the doldrums? Have an empty space that just won't be filled? Hungry but don't know for what? A slow and thoughtful reading of "How would love respond" can get your spirit moving and give you great info on how to get back on track to the good life. I highly recommend "How would love respond" for everyone who questions why life goes the way it goes and how one can get moving in a positive direction and reap the rewards of knowing what to do and how to use the insights. I found this book mildly interesting. There is a lot of science in here, but frankly, it was a bit much for me. The setup for the experiments was detailed, detailed to the point of tedium. By the time I got to reading the actual results I was worn out and ready to move on to the next experiment. Unfortunately for my tastes, it was more of the same. The book really lacked any WOW factor for me, and rarely was I fascinated or intrigued. In all fairness to the author, he is a scientist through and through, and seems to be meticulous in his adherence to scientific principles of experimentation.

I am guessing this book may have real appeal for the scientist or those who reject anecdote and are in need of graphs and charts for them to be interested or persuaded. But not for me, and I am guessing not for the average reader.

This book is an organized and convincing exploration of not just the research Schwartz has done into energy healing, but his personal journey from skepticism to advocacy. His meticulous research design, his sterling qualifications, and his equal interest in what works and what doesn't, all make him a credible commentator on the field. He walks the reader through the various explanations, from local to beyond quantum, for energy healing. He describes the energy fields that we know, like those behind cell phone technology, and how these are analogous to the signals from the hands of healers. The book also provides a handy and understandable guide to the wavelengths involved, some of which I talk about in my own book, The Genie in Your Genes: Epigenetic Medicine and the New Biology of Intention. Schwartz also gives frank insights into his own thought processes, from initial insights such as when, as a boy, he placed his hands on the antenna connections of an old TV and watched the signal change; gazing into the mind of a pioneering researcher is fascinating. While the jargon in which scientists insist on presenting their findings in peer reviewed journals is impenetrable to the lay person, this book is understandable, well-paced, and entertaining. It is destined to become a classic in this field.

I first came across Schwartz' work almost a decade ago in the Living Energy Universe. His subsequent books have been more focused, and the Energy Healing Experiments looks at the research and evidence validating the power of consciousness and intention to guide healing energies. This book provides solid evidence and explores important questions raised by both believers and skeptics. As an energy healer I know what I observe and experience with myself and clients, so I don't need convincing... but for those who lack the expanded sensory awareness to feel and perceive energy healing it's useful to have empirical findings and methodically designed experiments that confirm something is happening that can't be explained in a materialistic manner. Gary Schwartz has done well in collecting this evidence and presenting it within a thoughtful analysis and discussion of its implications. This book is practical and more scientifically-oriented than spiritually oriented even though it does bring up the spiritual and philosophical implications of energy healing. I recommend this for healers who want to have a collection of research that supports their work, as well as the general public and skeptics who wish to carefully consider the evidence regarding this phenomenon.

I read the G.O.D. book and was mildly interested, but, frankly had grave doubts about the research/conclusions therein. Now see another book by G.S. I was about to bite untill I read the comment the stuff is not peer reviewed because of 'their' bias. Oh Right!!!! Sounds very much like the same tired line. The (Doctors, Med. Profession, Drug Companies, Scientists)don't really understand and/or don't want you to know all this important information. sure as heck not going to waste my money on this one.

I just want to thank Dr. Gary Schwartz. Because being a MD, applying energy healing in my work, this books helps a lot to be able to explain the patients the way the therapies based on Energy Healing work.
