You see, this book's title is something careful many
churches and the body of Christ have been evading to give
crystal-clear answer that will satisfy our curiocity.

Despite the fact that I am a Christan who was to believe in
Jesus as soon as I came of of my mother's womb, there was some spiritual thirst that none of the ordinary methods in time-honored church's community could not quench at all.

From the time when I was even in elementary school,
I wished to meet Jesus personally not doctrinally.
The very burning desire I had in my deep spirit was kindled
by this life-changing book.

In a nutshell, this book is a life-chnaging book giving tremendous help and profound teaching and lesson to readers!

Actually, 'speaking in tongues' is something careful that many
Christians and even some pastors are reluctunt to mention
in their sermons.
Unfortunately, I was taught that 'speaking in tongues' was
none other than something special given to
those who don't have big and deep faith by the Holy Spirit who wants them to have conviction about their faith.

When I went to a Christianity bookstore, I found this book
titled

Truth Truth Truth...a clear voice in the desert

Very clear answers if you are wondering if Speaking in tongues is still a manifastation of the Holy Spirit. Scriptually based and proof that if Jesus is still alive then speaking in tongues is still a tool for Christians in this hour. Brought breakthrough to my life. The chapter about Pauls life is amazing as well. Highly recommend this book!

I found this book to be very helpful, esspecialy the way each chapter was broken down to bite size chapters that were easy to understand, and the importance of praying in tongues,as well as praying in English(my native tongue)I recomend this book to all who are seeking a fresh impouring of HOLY SPIRIT and to those who have just become Christians and want to know more about God Jesus and Holy Spirit.

Informational, Inspirational, and Enlightening!

I found this book in a search to better understand the power that comes with speaking in tongues. The writer gives lots of scripture throughout the book to support his views and also gives very powerful and compelling personal experiences for himself and others. It helped to strengthen my understanding and belief that this truly is a gift from God and one to be desired. It gives some direction in the use of tongues in your prayer life and explains the difference in the prophetic tongue and the prayer tongue. I think this book will become foundational for those who believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of tongues or those who simply want to better understand it. I have already told others about this book and will keep it in my personal library.

I was familiar with Kala as a very talented interviewer and teacher, and I have long been aware of mystery schools--though not seen it recently spoken of in popular reading. Still, when I picked up "9 Life Altering Secrets" I was rather surprised by the volume of information introduced/reintroduced in this small book.

For the neophyte, the path is aptly opened; for anyone 'long on the road', the new perspectives or reminders are equally beneficial. Kala's book is so packed with information that one must 'sit with' that it took me quite some time to savor.

One of Kala's insights that I most enjoyed, was the perspective that we are surrounded by the energies that we put forth in our thinking. If we cultivate this surrounding field with negativity, that is what we breath in--perpetuating our negative experience of the world.

"9 Life Altering Secrets" has many more gifts to offer.

I am thankful to Kala for bringing these schools of spiritual introspection back to the forefront...and for sharing from her own learning and insight.

9 Life Lessons by Kala Ambrose

This book explains about esoteric teachings and clarifies that the teachings are available to everyone, but especially those with an open mind and heart. There are many "pearls of wisdom" as the author mentioned, throughout the book that enlighten the reader and help to reveal the mysteries of the universe. I was very curious to find out what mystery schools were and also learned that I was a Neophyte, or a student who has just become aware that they may be more than what they previously considered themselves to be. The book is a pleasure to read, with beautiful language and a deep sense of calm and peace. A favorite quote of mine: "Some call me a teacher. I like to say I do not teach, rather I help souls remember who they are."

...a revelation for the soul.

This book is an introduction to the willing student who is truly open-minded and interested in learning to connect to the magical energies that surrounds us. Kala Ambrose explains, in nine easy steps, this spiritually rewarding process:

From Lesson 1, where she explains that we are here to learn and grow, and that which we haven't learned we repeat until we have fully experienced the lesson; To Lesson 9, in which she sums up her teachings by allowing the student to become aware that "all is revealed in the journey, not in the destination."

Her tender thoughts and words of wisdom go beyond the traditions of reaching the mind and extend to the deeper subconscious where the soul rests.

Author Kala Ambrose is a teacher at the Stella Maris school who uses this book to share what she calls esoteric teachings, wisdom teachings, enlightenment teachings, or mystery teachings. Her aim is "to help you remember what you already know at a soul level," information as old as humanity culled from the ancient Greeks, Sumerians and others. Two chapters I found to be extremely powerful were Lesson Two: We Are The Creation of Our Thoughts and Lesson Five: We Are Greater Than We Remember Ourselves To Be. Fascinating stuff for the neophyte or those with a background in the subject.

Where do I start? How about, from the bottom of my heart thank you Kala! I finished this book a while ago now and it has had, and continues to have, deep and profound implications for me. I was going to write this when the positive changes started to peter out or stop but they just keep on coming. What did I learn? In short, I discovered self-love. And it is truly transformational. Without love you feel like a hungry ghost, I've been searching (and discovering) for such a long time without any, or very little, permanent change. I would discover something, that good feeling would be fleeting, or I would know the information I'm learning is truly wise, however, like a ghost it would just pass through me. Love has the most potent seed of, dare I say it, life-altering power imaginable, and it is this book that gave me the breakthrough I really needed. To those who can relate to these words I can't recommend this book enough.

Great introduction into the life of a man who lived the Secret

Review Date: 2008-06-13
I was given this book by a friend who knew my keen interest in learning about people who lived a great life as an example to others of the potential within us all.

This little 55 page book doesn't go into too much details of the life of Walter Russell, it touches upon his accomplishments and success in all areas of his life and leaves out dwelling on any suffering he went through to accomplish great things but it does talk about HOW he did it.

The best part of this book, besides giving us a glimpse into the life of an extraordinary man, is that it points the way for each of us to find that same measure of greatness within ourselves - if we choose to do so.

Some have reviewed this as "stupidity" but the mans success speaks for itself and "stupidity" and sarcasm will not find you greatness...
I enjoyed reading this book very much and hope you do to!

Wheel of Fortune or a Man who was chosen.

This book is inspirational, but lacks spirit connection. Mr. Clark basically wrote a bio about Mr. Russel Walter who was chosen to reveal incredible gifts from God. The book's composition gave me the impression that Mr. Walter's meditations reveal the secrets of the universe - everything stems from lightwaves. His reasoning for his talents (without books) bears witness to the inner self (Universal Intelligence). On a different page, he gives humble references and praise to famous Americans like Mark Twain, Tomas Edison and Henry Ford. I doubt if Mr. Walter really knows these people . . . they really worked hard for their wealth, yet they did not have a formal education; moreover, they all had a dark side.

From a Biblical point of view, Satan did not test this man's faith like Job of the Bible, perhaps because of the deception of wealth lends itself to the evil one. The book makes the universal gifts sound so real without any sacrifice or struggle in Mr. Walter's life. Even Jesus suffered for his glory and power.

As a Christian, I say "beware." You know the saying, "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is a SCAM." One thing I do believe, YOU determine your fate . . . God willing.

Uneducated, illiterate nonsense

This little booklet is basically a rehash of the same insane nonsense that L. Ron Hubbard attempted to spew when Hubbard was doped to the gills on illegal narcotics and alcohol. Nothing that the author writes is even remotely scientific, testable, or falsifiable. All the book contains is endless outrageous stupidity and cynical commercial appeals to gullible, ignorant people.

I acquired my copy of the booklet at my local public library where the book had been donated and the library staff rejected it as insane, possibly criminally fraudulent stupidity.

I've just finished rereading this book for the third time.

I was drawn to it again when challenged to create my "vision" for my business and life.

If you are a results-oriented type person, then you will like this book because: Russell was: musician, professional skater, sculptor, artist, writer, architect (designed several NY buildings), RE developer, philosopher, etc.

If you are a deep-thinker, connected to the Higher Source type of person, then you will like this book because: Ch. 5 shares the 5 laws of success that further connect you to the Source, there are great quotes like, "I believe mediocrity is self-inflicted and genius self-bestowed. Every successful man I have known. . . carries with him the key which unlocks that awareness and lets in the universal power that has made him into a master."

"What is that key?" I asked.

"The key is i-desire-i when it is i-released-i into the great eternal Energy of the Universe." i-italics-i p. 6 and 7

Read it, and then recommend it to others. I had never heard of this man until an author/professor recommended it. Thanks Dr. James Payne!

The Magic of Childhood

Review Date: 2002-03-28
Childhood is captured in this wonderful little book by Sharon Lovejoy. There are few books that make it into my "Magical Books" category, but this book by Sharon fits the bill. If you want to revisit childhood, or create a wonderful experience with your child or grandchild, this book is a must have.

If you like to garden or like to explore nature, have a child in your life you'd like to share that with, and like things that are child-like, this is a good book to have. It teaches you things like how to make clover chains and hollyhock dolls, it tells you when certain flowers bloom, like Four O'Clocks blooming at four o'clock. Or moonflowers, which bloom, big and white, in the light of the moon. The book is filled with wonderful illustrations to help you recreate magical childhood moments with your children or grandchildren.

Many adults experienced or remember those fun little things, but many of those things that we did as children are being lost, and it's amazing that a lot of kids these days have never done things like making a clover chain/necklace/bracelet. It's as if a part of childhood heritage is being lost. This is a fun book to share if, like me, you want to pass some of that heritage on to your children.

How many of us take our gardens and nature for granted? I certainly do when I get caught up in day-to-day survival mode. I discovered Sunflower Houses almost a decade ago when my sisters introduced me to a store called Heart's Ease in Cambria, California, which was owned at the time by Sharon Lovejoy. It wasn't long thereafter that I invited Sharon to be my guest on television. A faerie tea party was the theme of the segment. I was captivated by Sharon's ideas and views of the garden - transforming acorn tops, leaves, walnut shells and Japanese lanterns into the perfect faerie tea party. Vivid childhood memories came flooding back to me of blowing dandelions to the wind, climbing trees, rolling on the lawn, trying to catch butterflies and playing Red Light Green Light and Mother May I.

As I thumb through this 10th reprint of Sunflower Houses, I am reminded of the magic right outside our doors. In Sharon's words, "May you always remember that the most joyous and important experiences in life are not to be bought, but grown and nurtured in our homes and gardens." Winter, spring, summer or fall, the outdoors hold grand adventures for us! -Tiffany Windsor--

Sharon Lovejoy's "Roots, Shoots, Buckets and Boots" has the a lot of the ideas that are in "Sunflower Houses". It's almost as if she wrote "Sunflower Houses" first, thought of better ways to illustrate and do the gardening plans, and then wrote "Roots, Shoots..." (I didn't check the publishing dates - so maybe this is true?)

I bought both of these books through Amazon, and got "Roots..." first. It's a better book, with amazing illustrations. I thought "Sunflower Houses" would be just as good but when it came I was disappointed. It is really a repeat of much of the same stuff with less illustrations, and actually a lot less ideas. Illustrations are still really nice, and if you don't have the other book, you will like this one.

This book is, in large part, a rant against all the dogma and conditioned beliefs about good and evil that have been imposed upon many of us from childhood. However, the three methods that Hyatt provides in the book for the reader to work from are the reason for purchasing the book. If the methods are performed diligently and regularly, everything else written in the book will eventually become apparent to the student. Doing these methods will very soon make you feel happier, more content, more satisfied, less angry, more loving, more sexual, more powerful. And you will feel this way even if nothing in your everyday life has changed. You will feel this way because your brain is changing. You are changing. These effects will become more and more real and intense as you continue to do them regularly. Set aside time to do them, and then really do them. You won't be sorry you did.

Excellent Meditation Techniques

Interesting read, bordering on corny. Still some good ideas.

As many have said, the meditations alone are what you're paying for here. And they are worth it, provided you actually do them. Doing these meditations daily has been more help to me than reading any self-help book ever could be. In fact, just do the freaking meditations and quit reading self-help books! They'll make you feel better, no joke.

Really, you could get any book on kundalini yoga meditation, and if you actually did them they'd be just as effective. Still, he has a nice small set of exercises distilled quite nicely here.

Sadly, most people will read this book without ever attempting to do the work, which is pointless. Then they'll be on to the next book for that quick high, and on to another before doing what that book said either.

I can't encourage you to do the meditations enough. Everyday!

This book is for people who want to break out of their old habits and thought patterns. It is not a typical self-help book in that it does not tell you, "You are fine just the way you are; it's the world that's messed up."
In order for you to gain anything from this book, you must put it into practice. It is not for everyone. Some people will read this book and think it's garbage. Maybe it is, and I've been fooled into thinking it's not. Either way, the author will challenge you and your beliefs. You can decide what to do from there.
Before buying, I would recommend checking it out from your library. If you like it, buy it. If you don't like it, you haven't wasted any money.

Dogma Busting

Do you ever feel dominated by habits, personal history or social expectations? Even if you don't this book may be for you. In this book Hyatt maintains that much of ordinary people's behavior is narrow, repetitive and even robotic. Without even knowing it we are programmed by agendas that aren't our own.

The way to escape this programming is first to relax so that your program runs out of steam, and second to consciously choose to change our behavior. It can be as simple as choosing to drink something other than the favorite soda, which you always drink, or as complex as, at the next party, becoming extraverted if you normally are introverted.

This book is designed to jump you out of your normal boundaries, so be prepared to be shocked or even horrified. It is written in many styles including pushy assertion, humor, personal testimony, guest essays by other authors, fiction and even comic strip.

Undoing Yourself helped me to realize how dominated I am by my religious upbringing, even though I thought I left that behind years ago. I use exercises from this book every day and find that they make my life more interesting.

New to the Method

I found the writing style irritating, to say the least, although not nearly as disruptive as _Illuminatus!_. It wasn't until the day after I started reading it that I realized why he is constantly breaking set...he keeps his book from being an easy read, like so many self-help, new age b.s. books today. Because this book, and these methods, can actually help you. This doesn't have suggestions, this doesn't soothe your hurts, this IS how to do it. This IS what you have to do. As Wilson says in the introduction, Hyatt is abusive, insulting, rude, but the fact is we are too used to treading lightly around one another's feelings...we hear too much about self-esteem, so rather than be honest, we become a society of victims. And Hyatt blows right past all that, and looks right into your innermost core, and tells you, Get over it, and do the f****** exercises, already!
Only doing Method I and already looking forward to his other books.

Book provides excellent accounts of Edgar Cayce readings. In fact, that is what 95% of the book focuses on. I was hoping the book would also provide insight into soul mate relationships.

If you wish to read Cayce's readings don't do it through a narrator. Missed the mark for me, disappointed.

Edgar Cayce on soulmates, is writen by Kevin Todeschi, based on Edgar Cayce's readings!!!
It's a wonderful book, it gives you insights in the couple relationships as much as in other relationships in your life.
I got out of this book a much clearer understanding as to the dinamics of the significant relationships in my life, even as to what is that I have to work out in them.
All of this put in such delightful way that I couldn't put the book down every time I started reading!!!
This book has definetely been of great help to my life!!!

Have you ever had the experience of meeting someone for the first time--male or female--that you instantly "knew" they were someone you'd known before--that sense of déjà vu? These are some of the soul mates Kevin Todeschi describes in Edgar Cayce on Soul Mates. They are people you have known in a previous lifetime.

Because I met my husband first in a dream, before I met him in real life, the subject of soul mates is near and dear to my heart. Is he a soul mate or a twin soul? This is one of the books I consulted when writing about my experiences in When We Were Gods: Insights on Atlantis, Past Lives, Angelic Beings of Light and Spiritual Awakening.

Todeschi also makes it clear that a person may be your soul mate but your relationship is not all heavenly. The both of you are together to learn from each other and to grow spiritually. In addition, you may not have that déjà vu experience, but still, just about everyone you're involved with in this life, you have known before--even the ones who are part of difficult relationships.

I liked how Todeschi explains the Edgar Cayce readings on the intricacies of attraction: both romantic and also the attraction to all the people with whom you've had relationships . . . plus the attraction people feel to you.

Many parents dream about their children before they are born . . . some before the child is conceived. Because this book deals with the interactions between family members in the context of reincarnation, it makes sense that an in-coming soul would communicate with its future parents.

The study of relationships is close to all of our hearts. This is a great book on the topic. It delves more deeply than many others because it takes into account that we are eternal souls and that our present-day relationships are built on many previous lifetimes.

As with nearly all books that are firmly based on the Edgar Cayce readings, this one is the best you will find on the topic. Kevin Todeschi has long been associated with Cayce's foundation, the Association for Research and Enlightenment (ARE), and he is very familiar with the Cayce readings. As such, he focuses his writing on the spiritual principles behind the soul mate concept, rather than the "lonely hearts" stuff that so many of these books offer.

Until I became familiar with Cayce, I thought the entire idea of a soul mate was laughable. That's because I was under the mis-impression that a soul mate was supposedly one's single and only true love, and my own life experience belied that idea. I know that it is possible to love deeply several, if not many, individuals within a single lifetime, so the idea that there is one and only one person with whom I would be compatible seemed ridiculous. Then I read Cayce and learned that soul mates are far more to each other than romantic lovers. Rather, soul mates help one another move toward spiritual goals. This can just as often manifest as hostility toward one another as romantic love.

Even more important to my understanding of reality, I learned from this book that each of us has many soul mates, which makes sense to me intuitively and explains a lot of odd, sometimes difficult, but always compelling relationships that I have had throughout my life. Todeshi clearly articulates the spiritual principles behind the soul mate phenomenen, and I believe that one can rely on these principles because they came from Edgar Cayce, whose authenticity is heavily documented and whose readings have usually proved correct over time.

If you are not familiar with Edgar Cayce and his readings, I recommend that you pick up some basic books on his work from the ARE, in addition to this book by Todeshi on soul mates. One especially good ARE publication you might want to check out is A Place We Call Home, by Robert Grant, who is another long-time Cacye student.
