Not much new in this book of Rashneesh What's his name turned Osho. Hung up on sex to be sure, but everything else he says has been said by others in hundreds of books, lectures...and said better and with less emphasis on the genital area. I bought it because a friend said she liked him. I should have given the money to some of the homeless I meet on the streets. More value for my money.
And I have two other of his books to plough through...but will probably give away before I get too far into them unless they really surprise me and that I doubt.

The concept of BODY MIND BALANCING is that our thoughts and ideas have been trained to be one way, while our bodies operate naturally, which generally puts the two at odds. The harder you try to force them together, the more they fight each other. This book hopes to help you find a way to balance them, so that you can function at your highest level mentally, physically, and emotionally. It only follows naturally that if each person could reach their best level, the world as a whole would be better.

This book requires that you keep an open mind. I also found that you have to be willing to take the author with a large grain of salt. There are times when he seems to be overly impressed with his own intelligence and message. He seems to have some issues with major religions in general. Also, not all of his ideas are completely real world practical.

If you can get past those things you'll find that the author makes some very good points in this book. Many of them seem so simple and obvious it's hard to imagine that we don't automatically behave that way. I especially liked the idea/realization that your body knows what it wants and when it wants it. To give it different things when it doesn't want them seems absurd, yet we all do it every day.

Included with the book is a meditation CD. I'm not sure I can review it for you. All guided meditation attempts seem to put me to sleep. Unless it was actually just a really deep state of meditation, in which case, it worked!

An excellent book! It is a compilation of parts of Osho's talks. People of today have got out of touch with their own body. Even donkeys know what to eat, what their body needs, what is good for them, but man does not? Osho talks of regaining that intuition, getting friendly with the body, listening to it. Most other books and teachers just give blind rules to follow: eat this, and don't eat that, do so and so, and don't do so and so. But Osho talks of "listening" to our body, so that we naturally and spontaneously know what the body needs. The feeling that comes is something to experience.
The CD included with this book is one of Osho's Meditative Therapies. I did it after having gone through his active meditations. And I have a *personal opinion* that it will work better after trying active meditations for a while.
He answers many questions, about food, health, relaxation...
An amazing and incomparable book..

For 4 months I was going though a health crisis, which could not be identified by the doctors and left me drained, exhausted and very worried. A friend handed me this wonderful book with a guided meditation by Anando Hershley.
I started my mornings with relaxing in bed and go into the process of 'The Forgotten language of talking to my body'.
This is a wonderful process invented by Osho to connect with the sub-conciousness
here called 'The Guardian' and to allow the body to take over its own healing process.
It connects the healing processes of the body with the mind and spirit. This process worked for me and I highly recommend it.

I thought these cards would be a great introduction to tarot for my husband. He loves dragons and celtic lore, so both in one deck would be great! I was disappointed in the art work and he is having a hard time connecting to them. Could be that he is a new to tarot, or that the seeker should really choose their own cards. But don't let this opinion stop you from buying these cards. If you are drawn to them, then follow your instincts.

The Celtic Dragon Tarot Kit - A Review

Review Date: 2007-01-27
The Celtic Dragon Tarot Kit has been around for six years now, and has become a popular deck for readers who like to experience a sense of magic and story as they move through a reading. Special and unique features of this kit is the sections of spells and meditations which lead the reader through various exercises in utilizing the tarot imagery and dragon energy to perform sacred rituals and visualizations. For instance, a spell for prosperity involves lighting a gold and a green candle, placing the three cards: Ten of Pentacles, The Empress, and the Ace of Pentacles on an altar, then softly affirming, "Good vibrations, prosperity, success and money, come to me. All good things grow, no fear or strife, prosperity comes into my life."

Created by D. J. Conway and illustrated by Lisa Hunt, published by the well-established company, Llewellyn Publishing, this deck offers delicate, storybook graphic images using soft colors, delicate lines and an old book illustrative approach to each card's visuals. Lisa's artwork draws into the days of old, when dragons were a common part of the world's trajectory and belief system.

The Celtic Dragon Tarot deck has the same basic structure as more traditional tarot decks with 78 cards in total in four suits, Pentacles, Cups, Swords and Wands, with a couple of departures. The authors correlate Wands with the Air element, and Swords with Fire. They also portray the Magician as a powerful woman, and the High Priest (male) replaces the High Priestess. As well, the Devil (Number 15 Major Arcana) is called Chains in this deck. The icing on the cake, of course, is the strategic use of dragons on each and every card. The back of each card has a marble like finish with a delicate celtic knot design.

The Celtic Dragon Deck is unique, offering delicate beautiful illustrations which embody the sacred energy of the various dragons with noble, artistic figures and ancient Celtic surroundings. For instance, the Fool is a young Celtic blonde fellow, dressed in a traditional tunic, breeches and high boots, with his proverbial staff in his hand. He walks through a thick wood, and meets up with four young dragons, one blue (Water), one yellow (Air), one red (Fire), and behind him, one green (Earth). Between the branches of the trees, one can see the eerie peering eyes of the full grown dragons watching him carefully. Or the Empress, is illustrated as a lovely, joyful middle aged woman dressed in a long celtic royal dress, clutching a bouquet of roses, with a huge laughing smile on her face, as she gazes into the eyes of a laughing mid sized green dragon. They both look like they enjoy each other's company very much. Her mate, the Emperor is portrayed as a wise handsome middle aged man, leaning in a relaxed manner against the reclined figure of a huge blue Water dragon. They both fondly look on at the Emperor's two young children, a son and daughter, both playing happily with tiny baby dragons.

The Lovers is an interesting card, showing two dragons gazing at each other instead of a man and woman. One dragon is yellow and lies on the bank of a stream peering into the eyes of a half submerged blue Water dragon. Similarly, the Hermit is a huge Green dragon perched on a rock face, deep in thought as he reads sacred transcripts. His lair is surrounded by various Celtic petroglyphs carved into the rock faces.

Conway and Hunt include a 240 page full sized book that features interpretations, tarot spreads, information about the dragons, and the aforementioned spells and meditation sections.

I highly recommend the Celtic Dragon Tarot - it makes the perfect gift for yourself or a loved one. It will appeal to the taste of many, especially those drawn to Celtic lore and Dragons in particular.

spritual (not religious) handbook

If you sense the changes in universal consciousness you need this book.
If you notice the world is experiencing change (and not for the better) you need this book. If something deep within your being is telling you something, warning you, waking you, telling you to prepare for something big, you need this book. If you have a feeling that something not good is coming but can't put your finger on it and yet you feel YOU personally are going to be ok, you need this book.

I've read document after document of information on "what's coming" (the purging of humanity) with much of the same information. This small book compresses the most vital information contained in all those pages into a direct and to the point spiritual handbook. At this time in our history we as a species have the opportunity to evolve to a higher level of consciousness, a better way of existing. Regardless of your approach to spirituality we presently exist on earths physical plane. Connect with others who understand this while allowing those not yet ready for this information to exist as they choose. There is a higher plane of existence to which some of us will ascend.

This book explains the ways of the universe, consciousness, vibrational energy, the proper mindset to expand our awareness and actions required to move forward. Those who understand this already and those who sense there is more are ready for the information contained within. If we don't change direction through conscious intent, we may just end up where we're heading. The damage can be minimized "if" we all read and followed the teachings in this book. You will "sense" truth in these pages.

If you are drawn to this book, read it! I believe that it is one of those books that will speak to those who are ready for it. I would definitely recommend it for those who find themselves on the lightworker path, as well as anyone who feels they have a mission, but can't quite put their finger on it. Each time I read from it, new understandings arise. I continually return to it's pages to find guidance, strength, courage, sustenance. I look forward to reading more from this collective. It has definitely guided me through the past year.

I was so transfixed reading this book. It gave me so many answers that I could not find in many spiritual books about the meaning of life and our individual roles in it.

I bought several copies and sent to friends and relatives but you really have to be at the time and place of your life when you can relate to the information and understand how to apply it.

I re-read it again recently and it was as rewarding as the first time. This is easily the most exciting book I have read and I am an avid reader.
I think everyone should read it and I really love the part that you do not have to look for anwers outside yourself.

This was a very interesting book that covered a lot of information, some of it a bit bizarre but I have an open mind so I can accept a HUGE range of 'anything is possible' and I have to say I enjoyed reading it. There was a lot of reference to his previous books, which I didn't read, so it might have had a little more clarity in some places if I had read 'Nothing In This Book Is True .....', before I read this one.

You Are a Spiritual Being Having a Human Experience

Review Date: 2008-01-11
I think that often most of us get a little stuck in our human condition and forget our divine nature. Instead of seeing ourselves as an integral part of the universe, we begin thinking that we need to achieve something, be something, or gain something in order to be significant. Then, when things don't turn out the way we think that they should, we begin the blame game. The world isn't fair. He is the cause of my problems. She did this to me. It's all their fault.

We simply don't see that we are everything we need. We don't see that each day is an opportunity to recognize and embrace the possibilities. We don't recognize that we are an important part of something much bigger.

You Are a Spiritual Being Having a Human Experience looks at several aspects of the human experience. It seeks to remind each of us that we are spiritual beings. It also aims to educate each of us in our responsibilities for ourselves, our world, and our collective evolution.

This book neatly ties everything "New Age" together.

If you've been reading lots of new age information and like me couldn't get how our bodies relate to the earth's electromagnetic fields & pole shifts, and how those in turn relate to 3rd dimension vs. 4th, and what ascended masters can do with these fields, how sacred geometry relates to all this, how the dolphins and Native Americans could be more advanced with less technology, and what the heck they all mean by "All the answers are within you" give this a read. This is the first book I have read by this author and while his info does not seem to be channeled from a higher source, it *does* seem to tie all the channeled info together. In fact, I cannot imagine any other way to make sense out of it all. You'll love this book if you've read anything by Ramtha, it explains some of the science of it all, although it is quite a few scientific steps up beyond Conversations. He gets much of his info from Drunvalo Melchizedek, and makes some sense out of him, which is respectable. (and I never have read Seth so I am not sure where it would be in relation to that.) Although it seems that fans of his tune in to hear UFO stories - and they pop up here and there in the book - if you are advanced in New Age information, you can easily overlook any hype surrounding them and view them as just another race as we usually do with everything else. Very, very informative to the point where you end up doubting your sanity for a couple days after reading it, until it sinks in and you decide which theories make sense (and most of them do).

Entertainment Only.

Hard to believe that many objective points in this book are "true" but since we're all creating our own reality you might get some neat ideas from this book. Then again you might not. I'm a sucker for multidimensional travel, and holograms just like the next guy but for some reason "Ascended Masters" always send up a red flag. Bob seems have gone the new age route this time, which is always a bad sign, but if you can sift through some crap there is some very interesting ideas about different types of consciousness from indigenous peoples to the coming golden age. So if this book falls out of a dimensional hole in the sky and into your hands, might as well check it out.

what is the basis?

I have not read this book. However I have a question for prospective purchasers to ponder. We all can agree that "the Secret" is a mass market effort to sell ideas that are supported to a certain extent by science. Anyone who has watched "What the Bleep do we know" knows that Quantum physicists have conducted experimentation that indicates that human conciousness has an effect upon concrete reality. The argument appears to be about the actual magnitude of this effect. The question that troubles me is that the author of this book appears to intend to debunk "the Secret"; if so, then why does a search of the contents turn up no refernece to quantum physics, which is the basis for the priciples expounded in the Secret? Is the basis for her theory just personal anecdote? I agree that "The Secret" oversimplifies some of the concepts, but isn't that necessary for the layman to find a practical method to try to apply the concepts indicated by the physicists? Just food for thought.

I am a recovering alcoholic and have just begun my spiritual quest. I read The Secret earlier this year and my spirit totally rejected it. I wondered how I could be right when this book was so popular. When I just happened to see Burying the Secret, I was thrilled. This book validated my feelings. I was disturbed that in The Secret there was no mention of soul and spirit and God's will. I had tried for years to dictate to God what was best for me---and when he didn't answer to my standards, I blamed him and thought he hated me. That led me to a devastating bottom--which Carol touches on in this book (she has a great understanding of the pain an addict or alcoholic must go through to live). I found many spiritual angles in her book--some made my spirit sing, because it validated what I thought, some made me think, and some made me go "huh?" But that gives me food for thought, and I know I will respond to the things I need to know when I need to know them.
Overall, the book was awesome. I read it in a short time. I couldn't put it down. It definitely deserves another read to pick up the things I missed.

I am a full supporter and believer in The Law of Attraction, as well as all the universal laws. I've read The Secret, watched the video, and practiced the law. However, as with anything in this universe and as logical humans, we tend to question. I'm one that questions.

I'm so glad Carol Rutter had the courage to write this book. I was sure I wasn't the only one with questions and obviously I'm not. I don't think Carol left anything out when she wrote this book because she certainly dispelled any questioning thoughts I had. She writes with vigor, understanding, and truthism. I encourage anyone wanting more understanding to read this book. I promise, you will be enlightened and you will be able to move on, knowing The Law of Attraction does work, IF there is Karmic flow involved.

In "Burying the Secret," Carol Rutter shares her story with us of how the Law of Attraction did not work for her. For years, she adhered to this idea, but things got worse and worse for her. When she started researching psychology, mysticism and Eastern thought, she realized that not all prayers are to be answered for a variety of reasons. She states, "The Secret" fails to acknowledge that unanswered petitions are the norm because fulfillment of the most dramatic or life-changing prayers usually conflict with our karmic standing and/or purpose in life..."

This really makes a lot of sense to me, especially after reading her book. She extensively researches the other areas mentioned above and references them so that you can further review her discussion. In her writings you discover why bad things happen to good people and you see good things happening to bad people. She really makes a lot of sense.

I enjoyed "The Secret" to the point that I read it, watched it, and went to a conference on it. Even though, I am a fan of "The Secret," I had a lot of questions in my mind; that she addresses. These questions and thoughts were lurking in the back of my mind, because I was afraid if I verbalized them, then I would be cancelling the Law of Attraction. After reading, "Burying the Secret," I feel like I have a greater understanding of how things really work.

I highly recommend "Burying the Secret" to people who are familiar or interested in "The Secret" or the Law of Attraction. It will help provide some balanced ideas to people who are on their spiritual quest. It will definitely help you understand why karmic law and/or prayer, does not always allow our prayers to be answered. Reading this book made me feel so much more positive about the path that I am on.

I was intrigued by Carol Rutter's Burying the Secret, because I have read works on esoteric and mystical spirituality. First in studying intuition to enhance jazz improvisation, then as a means of evolving along my Christian pathway.

I had time to read this carefully as I recovered from surgery and reflected upon the circumstances in my life.

While, ostensibly, this book is an indictment of a pop psychology/light metaphysics light book, The Secret, the far-ranging work became much more to me.

I benefited from in depth treatments of the psychological aspects of parent child relations, a general treatment of Jungian psychology, particularly the collective unconscious, a short, but effective synopsis of Caroline Myss's work on recovering from wounds and intriguing sections later in the book on universal laws as she discerned them.
I also found her biographical sections on her life's lessons, how difficult it was to learn them and why "The Secret" was not effective for her to ring true and hold inspiration for me.

While I am not ready to embrace her more esoteric ideas, such as the Akashic records, definitive treatments of pre-birth activities, the fact is, I got plenty of inspiration from her words.

For example, Karmic debts and releases seems the same thing that the Bible describes as "whatever a man sows, this he will also reap". The human condition is to evolve. Whether the lessons are sent by a benevolent universe, as she believes, or all part of God's plan, as I believe, the individual must accept responsibility for their human and spiritual evolution and discerning and acting upon their purpose in life. Like Ms. Rutter and myself, people who do not want to learn life's lessons will be given repeat opportunities to learn them.

I do not believe that one book can an all-purpose spiritual and evolutionary guide, except maybe the Bible. However, one idea can inspire an individual to critically examine beliefs and behavior and make a change. There were many such ideas in this book. I received plenty of helpful inspiration and I can enthusiastically recommend this book.

I also want to say that there is a marvelous exercise in self understanding in an appendix near the end of the book.

As a man it is tough to find out about skin care since most of the skin care products are geared towards women. I have been blessed with good skin, but live in Arizona. The sun and dryness are ruthless if one doesn't use the right lotions and take the proper skin care steps.

The Wrinkle Cure is a clear, concise and useful book on how to take care of our skin and turn back the clock. There are great sketches and easy to understand explanations that enhance the material. Dr Perricone taught me a great deal about my skin and how to take care of it even better than I was doing.

Perricone goes into detail about which foods, supplements and vitamins are best for proper skin care and the amounts to be used for various skin conditions. He backs up the information with Case Studies for the reader to understand practical applications.

This is an excellent book for any man or woman one who desires great skin!

There are good/bad carbs, right? Vitimin C is good for you, right? (I know some naysayers are screaming, NO!) Look folks, Dr. Perricone can sell the listed suppliments for as much as he wants. I got them all at Wal-Mart for a few bucks a bottle. Use your common sense. If you already know it all, stay away from Amazon because there is obviously nothing you can learn here. If you think this book is worth the few dollars it costs, buy it...unless you know it all of course.

I have never seen Dr. Perricone on either PBS or the Oprah show, nor have I ever read or heard of him before reading this book. The info in the book about free radicals, antioxidants and aging as a form of inflammation intrigued me and so I decided to try the supplements and topical cream for a three month experiment. Well...I don't need 3 months to determine that it's working! I can tell you that improvements in skin tone are almost immediate upon using the topical cream. Trust me, this man knows what he's talking about! I am 46 years old and have a few crow's feet and and the start of other wrinkles, so I have tried numerous skin products - including some of the more popular (and expensive) ones that claim to diminish wrinkles. Some of the products I had used in the past produced minimal positive results, but some were too harsh and caused inflammation around my eyes - leaving the skin looking worse than before. The topicals (ALA, C ester, DMAE) suggested by the author are available in a cream that is very lightweight and non-greasy. I agree with the reviews that state Dr. Perricone's product line is quite pricey. Indeed it is, however similar formulations of the supplements and topicals are available elswhere for considerably less. For instance, RevivaLabs makes an affordable ALA, C ester, DMAE cream that's available on-line or at your local GNC store. Not having the big money to fork over for Dr. Perricone's brand, I decided to try the RevivaLabs version of the ALA, C ester, DMAE cream and went to Jewel-Osco to pick up the supplements. BTW, RevivaLabs' cream does not contain any animal ingredients and RevivaLabs does not use animal testing. :o) If I had the money and lived near Dr. Perricone's practice, I'm sure I'd make an appointment to see him (and possibly purchase the products from him as well)! But it's nice to know that he's willing to share his knowledge for the price of a book!

The Doctor's a Bit of a Quack

Although Perricone writes that he feels he's always been ahead of the curve, there really isn't anything new here, just presented with a fancy cover that gives a medical image, proposing that there's more here than the usual diet/health book. The doctor is on such an ego trip throughout the book, that it's a turn off. His ego rants tend to undo some of his claims, however. In going on about his fabulous breakfasts and his brilliant daughter, he claims that they are both so amazing that she ends up eating all his food and he leaves the house hungry, which then underscores one of the main staples of healthy living (don't go out into the world hungry, dude). Most of the book is made up of diet and meal plans, and if you've already followed heard the golden rules that have been drummed into every other basis 'this will save your health and life" book of the last 20 years (more activity, less stress, more water, less sun, more anti-oxidants, more vitamin c, etc etc etc etc) you aren't going to get anything new here). The fact that the testimonials, ie, blurbs, on the back of the book don't come from too many bright lights in the medical field is of particular caution. The fact that two of his biggest, longest blurbs/testimonials come from second-level MAKEUP ARTISTS (!) is something to be wary of (and then he thanks them in his acknowledgements for being so nice). One makeup artist here says that given the fact that he must work on the most beautiful faces in the world, he must keep up on the latest in medicine (oh please). The fact that the doctor then says that all the other age-defying products on the market are bogus, and then says that only his are for real, further makes the case that the guy's just out to sell a product that HAS NOT been proven to have more results than any of the other WAY OVER PRICED products on the market. And by the way-- have you checked out the photo of the doctor? Is it a little reminiscent of...I don't know... Michael Jackson? Beware beware beware and save your money. QUACK QUACK QUACK.

I was a little disappointed in this book. Whilst it has all the basics covered, it did not bring any new or fresh information on manifestation and simply reiterated alot of what is in the Kaballah teachings without any new perspective or insight. I felt that it contradicts a few of the current (fabulous) books available on this subject such as Esther and Jerry Hicks teachings of Abraham - Ask and it is Given which is the best book I have ever read on this subject.

All in all I felt that this little book was written to "get on the bandwagon" rather than produce a reference guide to prosperity.

Give it the test!!!!!!!

Not bad, not necessarily new either, but let it work on you. The first day of reading it things happen and you feel and percieve different!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you live in Brooklyn, this guy Berg is like an Old Hasidic Rabbi, or Bach la Hai dropping some "jewels"(wisdom) on you on a subway, may not seem like much when you hear it, but hey, that deep stuff sneaks up on you!!!,
and like your not on easy street, hey baby You are on the RIGHT PATH and easy street is were ever you place your foot!!!!!

Great book for a beginner

An excellent book for ... anyone who wants to understand what prosperity is all about. Wealth is the Light within, and this book ascertains what Great Books have propagated - Apply the rules of Light {Torah/Bible/Qur'aan}, and you'll get there. A great motivational book to give as a gift to your favourite employee, yourself, or the disciple you're coaching. It also guides modern-day entrepreneurs in dealing with Wealth reality.

Yehuda writes beautifully in all his books!

Berg shows you how you can have it all!

Heard the CD version of TRUE PROSPERITY by Yehuda Berg, a
rabbi committed to the teaching of Kabbalah--the world's oldest
body of spiritual wisdom . . . the book's subtitle says it all:
SUCCESS WITHOUT SIDE EFFECTS.

Berg attempts to show you how this can be done, so that you
can have it all; i.e., happiness doesn't have to bring about
failures in other parts of our lives . . . and that is one of the
best things about TRUE PROSPERITY . . . it applied not
only to money, but to health and fitness, family and
relationships, and lifelong spiritual growth.

I'm not sure that I learned very much about the Kabbalah, yet that
was OK with me . . . what I did learn were such valuable insights
as the following:

* Goals aren't enough. You have to continually seek more, such
as when you've attained your goal.

* Fear stands for False Evidence Appearing Real.

* Things get worse if you don't take care of them.

* When we focus on what's important on our list, we get the job
done. Yet when we focus on what's not important, we will
never get anything done.

* We should really seek what we need, not just on what we want.
What we went isn't what we really need.

* Agenda-giving isn't truly giving. Truly give. Don't expect anything
back in return.

My only criticism of this informative program was that it was
delivered by the author . . . his voice was a bit grating . . . here is one
case where having a professional narrator would have helped.
