Highly recommended for anyone suffering from anxiety, depression, addiction, and/or alcoholism. Especially good for anyone lost in their heads and alienated from their bodies including experienced meditators. Good for bringing joy and mystery back into life and glimpsing God/Love from within. At least from what I've experienced so far with Meditating with the Body.

Wonderful intros and lots of meditations too.

I love the format of this program! It is excerpted from a longer, 9 CD set, Buddhist Tantra, which offers numerous lecture topics.

In Meditating with the Body, the lecture is contained on 1 CD, and it provides a comprehensive intro to meditation, along with guidelines for gaining awareness, and exploring discomfort. Then, the remaining 3 CDs include 6 guided meditations (which each have their own intros). For me, this was a real fit - small amount of lecture and numerous profound meditation practices to choose from.

Consists of extracts from the TANTRA CD set

This is a great introduction to Reggie Ray's bodywork techniques. I attended the first "Meditating with the Body" program taught by Reggie and I can say these practices changed my meditation and my life. I highly recommend this CD set as a place to start. If it peaks your interest you should consider attending one of Dr. Ray's retreats. Check out www.dharmaocean.org

Common sense and farmgirl style combine in Mary Jane's beautiful book. The magnets have the most lovely pictures of the farm (gorgeous photos are possibly the best part of any book from the farm) and the book is jam packed with lovely recipes, great ideas for home and personal style. My favorite part are the quote magnets!!! This would make a great introduction to farmgirl living or a sweet little gift- one warning, you will likely go back to order her other books, food, magazines,etc...

I enjoy Mary Jane Butters writings - I suppose there is a place in my heart that is "farm girl happy" and anticipate her books and magazines. This particular offering arrived with a bit of initial dismay over the size of the book itself - so very small for the price. Even after reading the delightful material and playing with the neat inspirational magnets included, I still find it hard to justify the cost with the size - must be the "farm girl" calling out from me! Overall, this book with its lovely photography, magnets and recipes (which are delicious- I made them all, by the way) would make a great gift for the like minded.

For advanced astrologers only.

I have Kevin Burk's Complete Astrology book and like it quite well. His deft ability to combine astrology, psychology and new age spirituality in plain spoken language is refreshing. I had hoped for more of the same. However, I returned this book because nowhere in the description did it mention that it would be useless in the hands of an amateur astrologer such as myself. Luckily Amazon makes returns painless.

I like the fact that I can easily identify the aspect, look it up and incorporte it into the Chart interpretation. One can definately tell that Kevin Burk is a teacher and a good one at that. He explains that the interpretations are his and not the only valid ones. The goal of the book is to help budding astrologers to acquire building blocks to understand and develope their own understanding and interpretation of the Moon's Node. This is an often misunderstood aspect of Astrology but Kevin Burke rises of the the challenge to promote understanding. This is a added deminision that I can include in my professional chart. Thank you Mr. Burk Namaste!!!!!!1

I generally like Kevin Burks' astrology books (this book and his Understanding the Birth Chart book, especially). I wish these books were available years ago, they would have streamlined my library.

Other node books are pretty good too (Martin Schuman's Karmic Astrology: the Moon's Nodes and Reincarnation and Jan Spiller's Astrology for the Soul instantly comes to mind) but Burk's approach is more practical, more to the point and includes the latest research. The only criticism I have for this book is that I would have liked a 'complete' interpretation of planetary aspects to the nodes, for which all he offered was a brief theoretical description.

I really enjoyed the writng style, the author has a clean, easy style of writing and conveying information. I especially appreciated the wya he broke the node descriptions into the houses they are in. That was a page of the "cookbook" you do not often see and added a new twist on the nodal interpretations.

That said, I wish there had been more of incorporating the nodes into the rest of the chart. Overall, I DO recommend this book to anyone interested in learning more about working with the Nodes of the Moon in their astrological chart.

Is this THE complete node book ????

The Nodes are a subject in astrology that is quite difficult to understand. How to delineate these imaginary points and what do they mean ? I hoped to find an answer in this book by Kevin Burk. And partially I got an answer too. In his book, Kevin Burk analyzes the position of the nodes in the signs and houses, giving 144 placements. No other book gives these combinations, so this book is an interesting read. However the interpretations I found mediocre, there are books in other languages that give a much more insightful perspective. And if this should be the ultimate compendium or reference manual about the nodes, I would at least expect a chapter about the nodes in synastrie, a chapter about the nodes in progressions, the difference between the mean and the true node, other planetary nodes, transiting nodes to the natal chart etc... But no, these subjects are totally missing ! Only the transits to the nodes are mentioned in a very short chapter. So no, this is NOT THE guidebook about the nodes but mere a kind of a cookbook about the 144 placements of the nodes. Makes me think that the nodes are indeed quite difficult to grasp...

This booked touched my heart about the path John Mark Pool has walked, making mistakes in his life while having a prophetic calling and at the end still arriving at his destiny at the cost of a complete death to self. An inspiring book for anybody who is busy paying the price to enter into his/her calling while making mistakes. An absolute encouraging and inspiring book !

Though difficulty pressures an author to not reveal painful setbacks, John Mark Pool has not denied readers much in the way of painful experiences on his journey. Path of a Prophet will stay on my bookshelf. I will reread this book in the future. I will also use it as a sharing tool - a book to give to others in their trouble.

This read will encourage all those struggling to find personal relationship with the Almighty in the face of life's hardships. Mr. Pool encourages with his openness and honesty - a giving trait and a selfless sharing. This book is for more than those with prophetic calling, it is written for those seeking a love relationship with our creator.

John Mark wrote a very open and honest book about what it is really like to follow God's calling on your life, and how sometimes you just get sidetracked. It isn't always glamour and glitz as some people portray it to be. The road is sometimes filled with lots of detours and obstacles. I thank him for his honesty. There is a lot of insight and wisdom packed into this short story. I'm looking forward to his next book.

This book reveals how the author was challenged by abandonment, banishment, betrayal and death and how he stayed true to his love of the Lord to see him through each situation. You can rejoice with him as he overcomes heartbreaks in becoming the man God intended.

We all go through troubles and often times wonder why, is there some purpose we're unaware of that these things happen. Now we can take some comfort in knowing that we are being prepared for something God has for us.

An Amazing Journey in Search of Love

"The Path of a Prophet" is a chronicle of John Mark Pool's spiritual journey. John Mark uttered his first word of prophecy as a three year old toddler. At age seven he responded to the salvation message and began preaching a few years later.

His journey took some detours over the years. These wrong turns are related here in hopes that the reader will be able to avoid the same mistakes. I, personally, appreciated John Mark's openness in making himself vulnerable to the reader. This openness reveals his dependence on the Lord for his strength and his desire to bring honor to the Lord.

Returning from a preaching mission, John Mark came home an empty house. His wife had left him with their children and furniture. Heartbroken and devastated John Mark sought the Lord for His will and spiritual and emotional healing.

Two years later as an active staff member of a large church John Mark faced another set back. His staff position was abruptly terminated and he was banished from ever returning to the church property. Once more, claiming God's love, and faithful to God's calling on his life, as a prophet, John Mark went on to follow God. The Lord provided a new beginning in worldwide prophetic ministry and blessed him with the love he had been seeking for a lifetime.

Beautifully written "Pathway of a Prophet" is an amazing love story of God for man, and a man's answer to the call of God on his life. Compelling.

As a custom dressmaker for overe twelve years, and a mentor to many who are just starting out, I highly recommend this book for all of the details a person who might be thinking about a sewing business might nothave considered. After reading this one, I would recommend reading other business books that cover business principles for ANY type of business. Creative, custom businesses come with their own unique challenges, and she covers these issues well. The only information I think should be updated for today's markeplace is the advertising advice, and, since sewing is really a local pursuit, a bit more regional/demographic information would be useful.

An Absolute MUST for anyone in the business sewing field!

I have been so happy with my business since I started using the this book. The book is very thourough and well put together. There were things I had never considered for my business, that were suggested in the book. These ideas are all easily implemented and very easy to follow. This book is also an unbelievable confidence builder, the author not only clearly states what information you will need, but goes the extra step of telling exactly how to go about getting help and information. I strongly recommend this book to anyone who is in business or planning to go into business. I keep this book close at hand at all times.

"When painters seek artistic development and inspiration they visit great art collections, like those in the Louvre, Paris, the Tate Gallery, London, and the Getty Museum, Los Angeles. When gardeners seek inspiration there is no one place to find a wide selection of styles and designs, hence the reason for this book..." Derek Fell wrote in "Encyclopedia of Garden Design and Structure: Ideas and Inspiration for Your Garden."

He continued to discuss designing the landscape, and gardens of inspiration (the influences of great painters, Claude Monet, Auguste Renoir, Paul Cezanne on garden design), informal versus formal design, softscape versus hardscape components, etc. He also listed and explained the garden design terms in alphabetic order, each term is briefly discussed and demonstrated with color photos.

On Derek's discussion of formal and informal gardens, I have a different opinion and I think while Chinese and Japanese traditional buildings tend to be formal and symmetric with extensive and powerful uses of grids and axes, Chinese and Japanese gardens should be considered informal gardens with their overall naturalistic layout. See my book, "Planting Design Illustrated" for related in-depth discussion.

"Encyclopedia of Garden Design and Structure: Ideas and Inspiration for Your Garden" has 224 pages and over 1,000 color photos and over 100 garden features. Overall, it is a great visual encyclopedia and a source of inspiration and ideas for your garden design.

Wow! I just cannot say enough good things about this book! When it arrived, before opening it I expected to just see another book with black and white sketches telling me things I already knew. But from cover to cover, I found tons of beautiful, inspiring photos of actual gardens and landscaping which has given me many good ideas to incorporate into my own plans. The text is also easy to follow and understand (even for a beginner), the detailed captions are very helpful, and the overall layout of this book, with its various sections broken down, is to be commended. I would give it 10 stars!

I have no idea what these authors are trying to put across. They do spend a lot of time trying to put a scientific explanation to what an imagination is and giving the reader thier "occult expertise". The fact that one of the authors claims that astral projection is impossible to achieve at will implies that they are most likely one of Israel Regardies' "Cosmic Foo-Goos". The reader, if they take this work to heart, may come from the experience a less effectual person. It is sad that [garbage] like this gets sold and marketed when there is so much more valuable stuff out there.

Truly magical. This book comes under the heading of "I wish I had read this years ago". These two authors write seamlessly, you can hardly tell where one leaves off and another begins. They interact very well. On the theoretical side there is a wealth of knowledge to delve into and thimk about. This part alone kept me alternately reading and thinking for almost a week. I did not want to miss a word. Then I got to the practical side and had to keep re-reading paragraphs because I kept getting new insights.

All in all a remarkable book . I hope they write more. The combination of scientific and practical information is stunning, and so down to earth, unlike the airy fairy stuff that is published nowadays.

I don't know what the other reviewers are complaining about, there are numerous texts on magic in print and many of them are for the more adept student (why not try Julius Evola's work), but I found this to be one book I recomment most highly to beginners. It covers the most important aspects of what is fundamental to all magical workings: concentration and visualization exercises. This book, in conjunction with Peter J. Carroll's Liber Null & Psychonaut, lay down the groundwork using semantics that are easy to grasp and not overly burdened with ritual, dogma, and other baggage from magic's past. Highly suggested.

Thorough survey of Thought Forms as well as a Complete Practice

This book is, in my opinion a treasure and offers a comprehensive study that would provide a newcomer to energy work and visualization enough food for thought and practice to carry them for quite a while. It is a program, a reference, and very complete. It is also indispensible to the seasoned practitioner as well; full of previously unheard anecdotes and ideas that will offer fresh material to those already informed about magical thought.

I disagree with others' criticism that book is too chatty and here is why: If you do know about the mind, you know that some parts of the mind learn and remember best when stories are used to facilitate. This book creates thoughtforms for you, to help you learn about thoughtforms, and it does so with interesting stories and histories thrown in as examples in-between practical work.

This is not a heavy reader, so don't let the other warnings of length deter you, it is enjoyable, easy to understand and still full of depth.

Here are some of the things you will learn about if you read this book:

The nature of astral matter, how it behaves and how you interact with it regularly, and how you can interact with it consciously to cause results.
Basic and easy instructions to complete advanced thought forms.
What it is like to visualize and create objects on the astral plane.
Methods for improving your skills at visualizing.
How to create astral dwellings.
How (and why) to dismiss a thought form once it's use is finished.

You might benefit from taking notes on the page numbers of any practices in the book that you want to try, though there are exercises listed separately in the appendices.

It's all in yer head!!!

I'm not giving away any of the details of the book, but I am telling you that if you're serious about your art, then you should pick this up...If you learn just one single thing that's new, it'll be worth the price!!

I cut my teeth on books dedicated to stretch us emotionally, mentally, spiritually. I was excited to hear what Dr. Gang Sha had to say. And I was truly disappointed.

I have strongly supported and cheered the holistic focus that has finally found its way to the mainstream. I have also watched a stream of New Age fluff find its way down that path as well. This book would fit into that category for me.

There is "downloads" that you can mentally Absorb. There is pretty langugage and not a great deal of substance. Although the credentials listed on the book sound quite impressive, I also have to realize they were written by someone paid to spin the book impressive.

Then I turn and look at the substantive work that people like Jon Kabat Zinn have done for thirty plus years and the clinical research that backs up their claims... and I think I will simply pass this fluff by for something with a little teeth.

Included in the book is also a CD. Wow. I'm not even sure how to describe my take on that. Going into the recycle bin!

I have always found computers to be wonderful things ... now I can use mine to heal myself - Wow! Watch out credit cards ... here we go!

This book is interesting in concept, but does not come through in fact. I found it to be boring and touching on some sameness with other books written by this author.

I would not recommend this unless you are a fan of the author and want to complete your collection.

Hmmm, reviewing this one is going to be tough. I picked up this book thinking it was something different than it really is. I was looking for some talking points, essays, short stories that illustrated some spiritual concepts...similar to books the Dali Lama has written and things by other people who are looked upon as spiritual guides.
While I am a Christian, I am more accepting of other beliefs and philosphies than one would think. This book just didnt meet my expectations.
The books is written in beautiful language that flows well and is colorful, peaceful and relaxing. In fact, so much so that I couldnt read this book at bedtime...it literally put me to sleep.
For those who are interested in Eastern medicine, healing, and philosophies this book would be a good one to add to the library that you are already keeping. Passages on yin and yang, mantras, healing, with bits of meridians and chakras are all in here.
While not being an avid student of those particular paths of thought, I do know enough to not be totally lost with the reading. The concepts are explained plainly and easily enough, its just that for some people the feeling of bewilderment is going to be a major road block. The author talks about the "soul" and its language, communication, needs, wants, desires, appetites and things like that. He speaks of countless lives, countless souls and infinite universes. I get what he is saying even if I myself dont buy into all of it.
The information is presented, as mentioned earlier, in a straightforward manner and explained as best it can. The author relies on "Divine downloads" at the end of certain passages to help you "get" the information, receive the gift, or apply the message. I am not sure how that is supposed to work, perhaps I am just not ready (as stated in the book, some are ready and some...aren't).
All said and done, the book is interesting and something that takes some thought to read. It is one of those books that, while I dont believe all of what it contains, still has enough information in it to help you ruminate on some of the concepts for a bit.
Some of the passages I will think about and read again, but the book just wasnt something that I really liked. I am glad that I read it and have a better understanding of what the author is talking about, but when his envisioned "soul" conference comes to town, being taught only in "soul language" I probably will not be in the audience.
