Inspiration Books

This is a well written and encouraging book. I had some difficulty sorting through the various editions on Amazon but this is the exact book I was looking for as it contains the original, the personal study guide and devotional journal.

I was ready for more - this book inspired me to believe deeper and helped every step of the way! I got so excited about it I referred about 30 others and they all bought it and devoured it as well! Tommy Tenney does a great job of being very specific - and keeping it exciting...I couldn't wait to read more and did not want to put it down! I am desparate for the Presence of God...and it is contagious! I liked having all three parts in one book - this will be the only book you need, it has the journal right in it!

I was dissappointed in this book. Although I am in the same place as the author; tired of empty churches and hungry for the presence of God to show up, I felt that each chapter was essentially a repeat of the previous one. There is a Bible Study section for each chapter, which I thought, again reiterated everything that was found in the chapter. However, the author did give some amazing testimonials from himself, as well as others, who had had life changing experiences of God's presence, and there are 70 thought provoking devotionals in the back of the book that I found very beneficial, so I gave the book 3 stars. Although, I think the author's motives were sincere, and you can literally sense his frustration, it was not a book that easily held my attention.

I was introduced to the Shinn books by a good friend. That friend is gone but I still have my books, Ha! I cannot praise her books enough. Like another reviewer said, these books are Christian based but she does have some Eastern philosophy sprinkled throughout that creates a nice balance. Combined with the Abraham/Esther and Jerry Hicks books, Florence Scovel Shinn books pack a powerful POSITIVE punch. Her books will lift your spirit in your darkest moments.

Great Affirmations and an understanding of our connection to the Divine; and how to utilize the beliefs of the time, to get an idea across. Very astute and enlightened; and to think she wrote and spoke about this before 1906 before women could vote and when they had few legal rights.

Compared to other self-improvement authors and materials on the market, this book had had the most impact on my life! It was recommended to me by a friend, and I am so grateful that she told me about it. It gives great wisdom and practical instruction as well as encouragement to remove negatives from our lives and assurance that we can change our lives through right thoughts, feelings, attitudes, action, and words! Is it time for change in your life? Then you owe it to yourself to get this book now!

I've read many great books on Law of Attraction, but this one explains how to create a life that you love better than any that I've read. This book is a gift to anyone who believes in Law of Attraction and wants to be able to do it for themselves.

After reading many self help books, this one made a difference in my life. I believe it IS mainstream Christianity, not fundamentalism, however. My God loves homosexuals and everyone else. If you cannot accept differences in others or insist on judging others, this book is not for you. It is all about love, acceptance, and appreciating. This makes a better life for the reader.

Beautiful book well presented. However I was after the book that explains the tarot cards and not the description of each goddess. Because they have the same cover I picked the wrong book.

I've never been much of a mythology fan, but after bringing this book home from the library to do research on Aphrodite/Venus for a school project, I found myself reading every godess's story over and over again. The paintings are gorgeous and the written part is actually interesting. I never thought Diana, Athena, and Chang O could actually capture my imagination, but they did. Each godess is beautiful and unique in her own way. Kris Waldherr makes them each become the perfect role model for every type of girl. :-) -Willow

If you haven't seen the revised and expanded anniversary edition of Waldherr's renowned Book of Goddesses, this is a book you do not want to miss! The new version is packed with gorgeous artwork and informative, empowering text. Waldherr includes both familiar and unusual goddesses within a beautiful framework of multicultural mythos. The book includes both full color portraits as well as halftone illustrations--with additional border illustrations lending to the narratives.

It is well researched and put together. Another particular strong point is the fact that Waldherr includes "related goddesses" at the end of each section. The addition of comparative mythology helps to exemplify the universal nature of the feminine divine and makes this book seem unique in its presentation. The pricepoint almost seems low for this visual masterpiece--as it is a timeless creation that is sure to please generations to come!

Prepare to be beguiled. This is not an ordinary book.

Finding it was a happy accident while I was researching artistic responses to the myth of Persephone and Demeter. I knew Kris Waldherr had written a children's book about Persephone ('Persephone and the Pomegranate'), but it was out of print and had become a hard-to-find collector's item. So I turned to this more recent book of hers instead, and was captivated by it.

The book is designed as a complete whole, from its richly coloured endpapers with their jewel-like illustrations through to the lovely organic patterns of flowers, leaves, shells, rocks, birds and trees that run along the outer border of every page. Open it anywhere, and you'll see straight away that each double-page spread has been arranged with great care and sensitivity. Pictures are creatively balanced with text in a deeply satisfying way, from the evocative little vignettes inserted among the letterpress that give the words space to breathe, to the large richly coloured full-page illustrations. It doesn't matter if you think you're not interested in goddesses, and you don't have to be a woman to enjoy it; the book is so lovely that it will entice you in. Before you know where you are, you'll be immersed in the world of divine feminine archetypes that Kris Waldherr has laid before you.

This book is a wonderful demonstration of what can be achieved when an author/artist/designer has the inspiration, talent and vision to understand the potential of modern book production techniques, and take full advantage of them. 'Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful', advised William Morris. The Book of Goddesses fits both criteria, and here's the wonder: anyone can afford to buy one.

Love everything Kris Waldherr does! Her artistic abilities shine in this loveliest of presentations. A dramatic and heartfelt sense of timing from those whose stories have deeply touched all of our lives through the mediums. It has become my first favorite deck, the second being the Goddesses.

This is a wonderful inspirational book. It's just like a conversation with God. When you seem to have a special need and you pick this book up, it's like God talking to you from the pages. I have appreciated it so much. It has helped me many times and encouraged me when only God knows what I need. I certainly recommend it. It is a special gift that keeps on giving.

As with some of his other books, Frances Roberts writes as the Father and the Bridegroom entreating His Bride toward her final destination. His books are full of comfort, rare jewels and deep insight rarely found in most books. They are for the wounded in heart, the lonely, the weary, confused and disappointed.

The tone of Roberts, in this book, is that of the Bridegroom giving gentle instruction, clear guidance and immense encouragement in view of the coming wedding: The Bride must prepare her heart, she needs to know how. The Groom gives step-by-step instruction to the Bride, leaving nothing out.

The Groom basically stills the Bride's heart, helping her to quiet her spirit and refrain from influences that defile her spirit. He teaches her freedom, freedom that is only attainable through total submission to the Spirit, and how to cultivate her spirit. He teaches her how to draw on the Spirit's resources, and how to remain in her hiding place where her soul is under divine protection.

I recommend this book to those who are seeking to walk and rest in the Spirit - it is full of comfort and will refresh and guide you.

This a great devotional that will inspire you to pray more and will also teach you things about prayer that you may not have known. It is one of the greatest books on prayer that I have read. It is so good that I will on occasion take it with me just to read sections of it. It has a scripture index in the back that can give you new insights to specific bible verses. It also one of the few books are prayer that combines God's love with prayer.

Andrea Olsen's book wakes up your conscious being and brings back your connectedness to earth. It makes you grateful for gravity and the nature that surrounds you and you might begin to be in awe of yourself and others. As Bebe Miller already said, this book will be with you for a long time. Body and Earth touches all your senses with its beautiful art work and its suggested exercises are easy and joyful to complete if you wish to do so. Here are just some of the "exercises" the book suggests: Water - notice how just by sipping some nice clear water it transitions from an external to an internal state. Movement - imagine creating a short dance for every day of the week and how this might wake up your senses and might relate to your sense of space. Food - write your own story of digestion as food moves through you to nurture you. Oh, and your place. Choose a small area outside and investigate it: where is water, what insects live on it, how is life like from the perspective of an insect, what plants are on this chosen place of yours and how do they smell and even taste? The book truly invites you to investigate yourself and all that surrounds you. This book is so much fun and so enjoyable that you learn a lot along the way without even noticing. It's a great gift for anyone.

This is also a wonderful book for body workers and their students. As a Yoga teacher I have had the opportunity to work with Andrea and I know that her suggestions really work because you have a chance to experience yourself what she teaches. It brings anatomical teachings back to life. To paraphrase Andrea, this book will make you feel and as you feel you are becoming a caretaker of body, a caretaker of earth. I think we have already caused too much pain to both, so this book might encourage us to heal and act.

Being a believer already that there is more to dogs then meets the naked eye, this book grabbed me by the heart and made me revisit each dog that has ever been in my life. I recommend this book to anyone who is open to learning about themselves and their canine friends.

I bought this book two days before I found the perfect dog at the local animal shelter. I started reading and I cried over the front of the book that tells the story of the man meeting at the gates of Heaven and asking for his faithful companion to enter with him. My dog jumped on the sofa next to me and licked my tears. I haven't been the same since. I can't recommend this book enough.

This book could be life-changing for those people who believe that animals have powers beyond the simple realm of their daily reality. I was most impressed with her writing, her worldly experiences and her genuineness. I actually went on her website and listened to a conference she had that had been taped. WOW. This is one dynamic human being with a heart as big as Texas. I love dogs--always have--and she captures something about them that even I hadn't given them credit for. It's definitely not an easy read, however and you must pause, put the book down and reflect on her ideas.

Jean Houston is one of the most remarkable figures in Humanistic Psychology and consciousness studies of the 20th and 21st century. This book is simply luminous and a great treasure. Anybody who seeks the spiritual path and/or adores four legged friends will love this book. The pictures of Jean and her dogs are also truly wonderful. Hats off to Jean and her brilliant and loyal canine friends.

Mystical Dogs: Animals As Guides To Our Inner Life by Jean Houston is about the transcendental value of animal companionship in general, and the love of dogs in particular. Indeed, our animal companions can be the starting point to a mystical gateway and an awakened consciousness. An absorbing saga of metaphysical enlightenment and abiding memories for beloved animal companions, Mystical Dogs is enthusiastically recommended reading for New Age animal lovers.

This deck is great. Love the pictures and the book makes it simple to understand the cards.

I thought these cards would be a great introduction to tarot for my husband. He loves dragons and celtic lore, so both in one deck would be great! I was disappointed in the art work and he is having a hard time connecting to them. Could be that he is a new to tarot, or that the seeker should really choose their own cards. But don't let this opinion stop you from buying these cards. If you are drawn to them, then follow your instincts.

I REALLY LOVE THESE CARDS, THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL. I DONT LIKE THE BOOK NEAR AS MUCH AS THE CARDS. THEY TEND TO GO WITH THE OLD TAROT MEANINGS AND NOT ENOUGH ALTERNATIVE OR OTHER POSSIBLE MEANINGS

I absolutely love this tarot. Cards are a little bit bigger than I am used to, but that's o.k. Both ladies, D.J. And Lisa did really good job.

They both fondly look on at the Emperor's two young children, a son and daughter, both playing happily with tiny baby dragons.

The Lovers is an interesting card, showing two dragons gazing at each other instead of a man and woman. One dragon is yellow and lies on the bank of a stream peering into the eyes of a half submerged blue Water dragon. Similarly, the Hermit is a huge Green dragon perched on a rock face, deep in thought as he reads sacred transcripts. His lair is surrounded by various Celtic petroglyphs carved into the rock faces.

Conway and Hunt include a 240 page full sized book that features interpretations, tarot spreads, information about the dragons, and the aforementioned spells and meditation sections.

I highly recommend the Celtic Dragon Tarot - it makes the perfect gift for yourself or a loved one. It will appeal to the taste of many, especially those drawn to Celtic lore and Dragons in particular.
