What can I say, it is a self-help book. I just didn't get into it. I either start one and can't put it down or just put it down pretty much forever. It may have something to offer others, just isn't my favorite. Always worth a try to learn more about self, so buy if it looks like something you could use!

Dr. Murphy understood a great deal for his time, and now science is proving he was pretty much on track. This is no attack on God, but it does stretch those literal translations that many religions would have you believe. Don't be fearful, just open your mind to what God has given you, and use it. Science, by the way, is proving every day that there really is a God, but you can't put him in a neat little box as most would have you believe. Take this information and absolutely change your life for the better!

Absolutely the best I've read on Law of Attraction

Review Date: 2008-06-16
After reading "The Secret" by Rhonda Byrne over a year ago, I got more and more interested in the Law of Attraction and how to put it to use in my life. I am still learning how to 'attract' what I want, but of the dozen or more books I've read on the subject, I found this one to be the most inspiring. I described it as feeling like a fast moving train and I was hoping that all obstacles would get out of my way.... or I was going to run them over! For the words to be over 70 years in print, they resonate just as intensely as if they were written today. Motivation at its finest!

I think this book is great. It gives very informative information to the background of the powers of the mind. It gives many examples of this power. The author quotes very well known people whom also know of this power. I was very informed and so intrigued that I bought more books on the law of attraction. However, that said, some of the wording does not make sense or go into the sentence. I believe in my opinion what happened was that it was revised from the older version which spoke one way and was interpreted into today's language, however, it should have not been revised word for word, but rather sentence for sentence. Sometimes a word translates into something that makes no sense in the context of the sentence. I do recommend the book and believe it is a great way to get started on your journey to the law of attraction.

Tadodaho Messenger
Helpful Votes: 3 out of 4 total.
Review Date: 2007-09-10
This book is a MUST read for everybody. It was very well written by Steve Wall, a retired National Geography editor who spent many years with Leon Shenandoah, Chief Tadodaho of Iroquois Nation. Leon Shenandoah, Chief Tadodaho is from Onondaga Tribe, which is known as the central firekeeper of Six Nation, that of Iroquois Confederacy. The book does not only shed some lights into Iroquois and Native America culture but more importantly it shed so much insight into life and what it means to be the ultimate human being that we all are. In 2006 I had a vision while I was asleep when a Native American gentleman appeared in front of me, saying nothing but appeared to know who I was. I did not know who he was or what he was trying to tell me until approximately one year later when I ran into this book, by mere accident. When I saw a picture of him in the book I broke down and felt the presence of a powerful spirit, realizing that it was the very same man that came to me in my vision. Since then I've become a Tadodaho Messenger, in which I've purchased numerous copies of the book and distributed them to seekers that I run paths with. The book contains powerful message and hope for all human beings. Chief Tadodaho teaches us to be the firekeepers that we all are so that we're able to instill small fires in each human beings and give them hope so that they'll begin to do good for other human beings. Thus, it created the birth of Firekeepers Association, also known as www.firekeepers.com. Read this book and you'll begin to understand many great things about life. You'll also learn about your own center and why it's important to build yourself and grow from the center.

Leon Tadodaho, Chief Tadodaho passed away some time in the 1990's and was largely unheard outside of Iroquois Nation. That's because he did not bother to gain celebrity status under the spot lights. Instead he spent all of his time working with his people and helping them. Make a trip to Iroquois Nations and ask anybody there about him and you will find them weeping in great pain because they all miss him miserably. Fortunately for us, Leon Shenandoah, Chief Tadodaho did not forget us. He spent many years preparing Steve Wall with important messages with hope to have a book published so that it'll benefit everybody when and if they're willing to take a brief pause in life long enough to read his important messages. The book was published after he died but yet his spirit continue to travel as he continue to work on things that are important to the Creator. Look no further than introduction "foreword page" and you will read "When I go, I'll not be wanting to leave. So I'll have some visiting to do. Look out! I may come to see you. You know what I told you, 'Pay attention. And listen. There really is no death'."

This book needs to be required reading for every human being on this earth. Powerful. Profound. Deeply spiritual and life changing. What an amazing man. It's too bad our current political leaders are so arrogant, selfish and stubborn. They could learn a few lessons about true, honest, unselfish, genuine leadership from this man, his life and his lessons. There truly is strength in gentleness.

This is a wonderful message from the spiritual leader of the Iroquois people, recently deceased. A gentle man, whose simple words ring with power. Leon's message is that kindness is strength. Steve Wall's interviews with Chief Shenandoah are a treasure, gifted to a world sorely in need of his gentle humor, great wisdom, and humility.

Oh GOD!!!!! Why?? WHY?!?!?!?!?! I wish I could just off myself, real easy like. No mess, no clean up, no relatives breaking into my studio apartment only to find my nude clay-like corpse sprawled out on the floor with empty food containers from Wendy's crushed beneath the weight of my, then, bloated mortal coil. What's the point of going on? Really, what IS the point?!?!?! Just as I was lurching through another uninspiring, energy draining, soul crushing day on this God forsaken hell planet, I entered a nearby Jamba Juice to purchase a Fat Burning fruit smoothie, when I looked to my left and found this little treasure trove of revivifying quips and quotes. WOW!!!!!! What a Life saver!!!!! I really DID buy a 12 gauge shotgun that I was going to use to do an instantaneous color scheme change on my studio apartment's ceiling but when I read Leo Buscaglia's quote, namely "Don't be afraid of a little poop"......well, the shear genius of that idea pierced my mind like a diamond bullet, and it got me to realize, "Hey, Life's just a bowl of cherries so don't mind the pits" (pg. 78, 3rd paragraph). I've never turned back. As for my shotgun.........well, let's just say I use it to hunt deer. Better them than me. HA HA HA HA God Bless.

If you are considering this book, do yourself a favor: Google for your quotes; you'll get a lot more for your unspent money. In part, the Acknowledgements section states: "Some...may be imperfectly worded or attributed." What is the point of a quotation book that (1) doesn't get the quote correct, and (2) doesn't get the author correct? This is a QUOTE book, not an opinion book or a paraphrase book, so one might think that the correct quote and author would matter, but I guess not. If Danny Boy couldn't verify a quote or source, could he have used a replacement quote ... like one of the tens of thousands that I can get for free from several dozen websites? This guy has found a short road to publication, and it's paved with laziness, carelessness, and lack of responsibility. His publishers should also be held responsible, but, hey, why should we let a little thing like accuracy stand in the way of greed.

As a young man, I found Warrior of the Light to be truly amazing. It didn't present many new ideas, but delivered the same messages in a way that was extremely accessible for me. Coelho uses the setting of a warrior on his personal journey to share his lessons on life. While most spiritual messages seem to encourage suppression of male energy, Coelho uses the warrior archetype and taps into the primal spirit of man, telling us it is okay to let the warrior out. This really spoke to me and integrated two parts of myself that hadn't seen eye to eye. Obviously this book isn't for everyone, but for the right audience it is a grand-slam.

I read this soon after I was touched by The Alchemist.

First of all, I don't think we could make direct comparison with the Alchemist. The writing style is totally different. Those looking for an inspiring "story" like Alchemist will be disappointed. Rather, think of WotL as collection of a wise uncle/mentor advices. If you are familiar with Mahabharata, think of it like Bhagavad Gita episode of the epic, where Krishna passed down his wisdom to the doubting Arjuna.

Carl Jung suggested that there are universal "archetypes" that all mankind can relate to create meaning of their life. This is exactly how to read WotL: see yourself in the shoes of a "warrior" on the quest to his dream, plunge yourself in the archetype, then it will make sense. If you still put on that urban city slicker hat and look for instant enlightment, you won't get it. You should read Dr. Phil or Anthony Robbins instead.

My girlfriend was kind enough to introduce Coelho to me by giving me this particular book. It is a book of one page "lessons" and details a warrior of light code. There were passages in the book that resonate with me still because they affirm how I was living my life. Also, some answers to some of my deeper questions on life were given, and some subjects I have not had time to think about were introduced. I love this book, and would recommend it to anyone who needs a new perspective on going through this thing called life and doing so in an aware, awake manner.

Edgar Cayce on soulmates, is writen by Kevin Todeschi, based on Edgar Cayce's readings!!!
It's a wonderful book, it gives you insights in the couple relationships as much as in other relationships in your life.
I got out of this book a much clearer understanding as to the dinamics of the significant relationships in my life, even as to what is that I have to work out in them.
All of this put in such delightful way that I couldn't put the book down every time I started reading!!!
This book has definetely been of great help to my life!!!

Great for Understanding Relationships

Review Date: 2007-11-23
Have you ever had the experience of meeting someone for the first time--male or female--that you instantly "knew" they were someone you'd known before--that sense of déjà vu? These are some of the soul mates Kevin Todeschi describes in Edgar Cayce on Soul Mates. They are people you have known in a previous lifetime.

Because I met my husband first in a dream, before I met him in real life, the subject of soul mates is near and dear to my heart. Is he a soul mate or a twin soul? This is one of the books I consulted when writing about my experiences in When We Were Gods: Insights on Atlantis, Past Lives, Angelic Beings of Light and Spiritual Awakening.

Todeschi also makes it clear that a person may be your soul mate but your relationship is not all heavenly. The both of you are together to learn from each other and to grow spiritually. In addition, you may not have that déjà vu experience, but still, just about everyone you're involved with in this life, you have known before--even the ones who are part of difficult relationships.

I liked how Todeschi explains the Edgar Cayce readings on the intricacies of attraction: both romantic and also the attraction to all the people with whom you've had relationships . . . plus the attraction people feel to you.

Many parents dream about their children before they are born . . . some before the child is conceived. Because this book deals with the interactions between family members in the context of reincarnation, it makes sense that an in-coming soul would communicate with its future parents.

The study of relationships is close to all of our hearts. This is a great book on the topic. It delves more deeply than many others because it takes into account that we are eternal souls and that our present-day relationships are built on many previous lifetimes.

The single best book on soul mates

Review Date: 2005-11-13
As with nearly all books that are firmly based on the Edgar Cayce readings, this one is the best you will find on the topic. Kevin Todeschi has long been associated with Cayce's foundation, the Association for Research and Enlightenment (ARE), and he is very familiar with the Cayce readings. As such, he focuses his writing on the spiritual principles behind the soul mate concept, rather than the "lonely hearts" stuff that so many of these books offer.

Until I became familiar with Cayce, I thought the entire idea of a soul mate was laughable. That's because I was under the mis-impression that a soul mate was supposedly one's single and only true love, and my own life experience belied that idea. I know that it is possible to love deeply several, if not many, individuals within a single lifetime, so the idea that there is one and only one person with whom I would be compatible seemed ridiculous. Then I read Cayce and learned that soul mates are far more to each other than romantic lovers. Rather, soul mates help one another move toward spiritual goals. This can just as often manifest as hostility toward one another as romantic love.

Even more important to my understanding of reality, I learned from this book that each of us has many soul mates, which makes sense to me intuitively and explains a lot of odd, sometimes difficult, but always compelling relationships that I have had throughout my life. Todeshi clearly articulates the spiritual principles behind the soul mate phenomenen, and I believe that one can rely on these principles because they came from Edgar Cayce, whose authenticity is heavily documented and whose readings have usually proved correct over time.

If you are not familiar with Edgar Cayce and his readings, I recommend that you pick up some basic books on his work from the ARE, in addition to this book by Todeshi on soul mates. One especially good ARE publication you might want to check out is A Place We Call Home, by Robert Grant, who is another long-time Cacye student.

If Holden Caulfield Were in My Classroom: Inspiring Love, Creativity, and Intelligence in Middle School Kids

Thank you Bernie Schein for you refreshing contrast to No Child Left Behind.

Pat Conroy says you are funny. I say you are an inspiration.... and funny.

Through sharing a series of heart felt, sensitive and often funny stories, Bernie demonstrates how personal attention, honesty and love in the classroom can unleash children from the shackles of rote learning and standardized testing so they are finally free to learn, to be creative and prepared to embrace the challenges and opportunities of citizenship.

Once Schein understood how education really can work, he abandoned the contraints of education administration and returned to the classroom where, for over forty years, he shared his gift of teaching and learning with hundreds of young ones as they made their way into adulthood and productive lives.

BERNIE FOR SECRETARY OF EDUCATION. Not really, just go back to the classrom and do your thing. Teaching is an individualized process not something that can be dictated from above.

Making American Industry Great Once Again
Helpful Votes: 1 out of 1 total.
Review Date: 2008-07-06
The American auto industry is almost belly up. American airlines are in a tailspin. Other major manufacturing and service sectors of American industry are in a state of collapse.

Not all of the problems of American industry are related to the price of oil. The lack of creativity and innovativeness in these industries is a large part of their problems.

There are those who contend that creativity just comes naturally to some people, like, for example, Ben Franklin and Albert Einstein. Not so, say Pek and McGlade, the husband-and-wife team of international consultants in creativity and innovation, in Stimulated!, their second offering on the subject.

Everyone, they contend, is born creative. But, the pressures of hierarchy and conformity in the modern American organization kill these creative instincts. Which, in turn, has led to the "can't do" culture prevalent in American industry today.

How to release our nascent, native creative energies, that not just a short while ago were responsible for the worldwide supremacy of American manufacturing and service, is what Pek and McGlade are all about.

Stimulated! lays out a 5-step process that Pek and McGlade have successfully implemented in Corporations in the US and in Europe. The five steps consist of Scouting for new ideas and insights; Cultivating these ideas; Playing with them in one's mind, Venturing to put these ideas into practice; and Harvesting the results. The interplay of these five steps leads to the generation of not just one or two good ideas, but, to a cascade of original insights that psychologist Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi calls "flow".

What kinds of projects have benefited from Pek and McGlade's creativity and innovation program? - changing the culture of the organization, developing new learning methodologies, raising the esprit de corps of teams and groups, doubling business volume, connecting the global workforce, creating unique competitive strategies, improving the work ethic, spurring product/service innovations, to name but a few.

Given the doldrums in which the auto, the airlines, and other major sectors of American industry find itself, Stimulated! is just the right book for the times! Anyone who owns a business, or runs a business, and wants to make the business more creative, more productive should devour the book entirely, and early.

Minnesota author and illustrator, Jodie Hills combines images and words in a most moving way.

Her book is a tribute to the people who surround us--the ones we see and the ones we ignore.

Every page has a worthy message. One of my favorites is: "I am amazed by the resilience of the faith of those who believe with no proof, and those who sing with no audience."

Another one that touched me was: "I am amazed by those who walk the daily high-rope without looking down. I admire those who trust, and even more, those who give us reason to."

Armchair Interviews says: You will be amazed at the power of the thoughts and how they apply to your life. A great gift for someone special--even if it is you.

Their sharing their thoughts and grief and help was comforting and I highly reccommend it to help you through your grief and the adjustments you must make.

I have been through so many deaths of people that were very close to me in my life that I thought that eventually I would acquire an immunity to the pain. I was wrong. I lost my son a year and a half ago and I have never felt this crushing, all consuming pain. This book has given me comfort. To know that I'm not alone and it's o.k. to not 'be better' right away. Sylvia Browne is a truly inspirational women. He words ring true and her convictions are so strong. Even for those that do not believe in the supernatural, her 'lessons' are so elementary, that it would be difficult not to see some truth in her words.

I felt this book was a little self indulgent. I'm sure Silvia's daughter in law is a very nice person but I felt her contibutions to the book were almost annoying. I actually threw the book away a third of the way through.

I always keep at least one new copy of this wonderful book in my home to give to family and friends who have recently lost a loved one. Sylvia has that rare ability to provide personal spiritual healing in the form of beautiful writings to those in need, and suggests so many effective ways to uplift and sooth the empty and grieving soul. She never ceases to amaze me with her soul-strengthening words of encouragement, and the personal love she weaves into each word of every book she joyously gifts her fellow human beings with so very often.
