If you care about your health, your life - no matter how young or old - this book is for you!...so easy to read, very funny
at times, and always informative. A witty, smart, and common-sense approach to writing about a very complicated topic. The
auther is abjectly brave in her honesty about the health care system in the United States, and she is speaking from years
of personal experiences. She does a marvelous job explaining the differences between the "sick world" and the "well world,"
giving perspectives from both sides. This book will make you think about (and appreciate) your health.

Tiffany Christensen lives with cystic fibrosis and has had to endure two lung transplants. She is a fearless survivor and
an inspiration to anyone who has to face the challenge of illness.
The subtitle of her book is "Lessons and Ponderings Along the Road to Acceptance" and Tiffany's work delivers on both promises. The book provides important information about navigating the medical system and hospitalization but it also contains personal experiences and reflections, giving it a depth rarely seen in books that discuss the health care system.
Tiffany shares her feelings, frustrations and especially her triumphs. Her accounts are honest and open and obviously based on decades of regular interaction with the system. This book is valuable not only to patients and their loved ones, but to doctors, nurses and hospital administrators. Health professionals will benefit to read about hospitalization and illness from the patient's perspective -
especially in such a real and moving chronicle.
You will enjoy this book and will reach the end with a new perspective on
life and serious illness. The book is unbelievably hopeful and an amazing gift to all of us.

This contains the essence of life. Tiffany has shared her insight into living with all the wonderful, pain filled, and caring
experiences that happen when life moves toward and away from the end of what we understand.
This is a must for any one who cares for people nearing the end of this life and the transition to what is beyond. The most comforting part of the book is her lessons in how to live our lives with compassion and understanding for everyone around us. GREAT BOOK!

This was really a good book. Whether you are a person with an illness, a parent of someone who is ill, or a health care professional,
this book offers valuable insights. As a nurse and also a parent of a small child with cystic fibrosis, this book was especially
poignant. Also, having just been through two hospitalizations with two different children, I understand how important it
is to advocate for yourself/child. I was very impressed with the authors insights.

This book is about the dance that God desires to restore back to the church. Dance is a powerful tool of ministry in worship,
warfare, and celebration.
The dance that God longs to see restored is one of spirit and truth, not flesh and soul. God's word instructs us to praise His name in the dance.
There is a personal dance study journal in the back of the book.

The lack of stars does not indicate a poor quality of writer, but simply a more one-sided look at faith than I was expecting.
The focus was on Buddhism. I was hoping for a more inclusive study.

What is faith? To many it may mean the strict adherence to religious dogma, and/or the reason we may have been told not to
question long-held beliefs - we are supposed to just "have faith" in the "rightness" of what we are being taught... Right???
However, in "Faith: Trusting Your Own Deepest Experience", Sharon Salzberg points out a quite different definition of faith. Faith, she says, comes about by our willingness to question what we've been taught - to ask ourselves if our experiences match what has been taught to us - do these teachings truly resonate with your soul?
Sharon also describes faith as our willingness to believe in ourselves - to believe that we have a right to be here, and a right to be happy. To be able to get through the bad times by having faith that it will get better - that change is inevitable, and some changes may be painful, but that we can get through it.
All of the ideas discussed in this book are intimately associated with the authors life - so you get to see how this one woman journeyed from a place of complete & utter pain and devastation, to a place where she has found faith. It's easy to relate to her and to all of the people she talks about - which has helped to make this book a very interesting, enjoyable read.
Although many of the ideas discussed are from a buddhist point of view, you do not have to be a buddhist to gain the wonderful insights provided - it's definitely a book for all people.
Overall, I would highly recommend this book to anyone interested in spirituality - especially those who feel as if they are on a spiritual journey. It's a wonderfully written, interesting, enjoyable read - and as such, it has much to give.

I have read one other book on Buddhism "Plain & Simple" by Steven Hagen and have been fascinated with the "alternative" outlook
(alternative to most established religions) because of the fact that Buddhism is more about your own personal journey and
discovery, than the preachings of religious institution. It also seems to be more "reality-based" in that is based on our
own experiences rather than dogma. I first became aware of Sharon Salzberg through meaningoflife.tv where she is one of the
interviewees. Her incredible calm and soothing confidence seems to leap through the screen. If you have any interest in
deeper spiritual questions etc. check that site out.
As far as this book is concerned, I found it very generally to be very enjoyable. Her insights and experiences are very valuable in trying to use for ourselves in our own attempts to be aware and mindfull. The only reason I gave the book 3 stars is that it does have a bit of the "self-help" kind of feel to it at times, but this is probably more a reflection of my personal bias against that literary genre, than any major shortcoming of this book. I fully recommend this book, Ms. Salzberg's wisdom, and the mindfull path.

The information presented in this book is valuable and interesting, so far as I can tell. I have no problem with it. However,
this tome is poorly edited at best. It's an English major's nightmare. If you can get past the typographical errors and obvious
grammar and mechanical errors, then this might be a good buy for you. Otherwise, you might want to turn to more professionally
edited literature. Also, throughout the text the author arbitrarily chooses when to cite other sources and what information
should be cited. There is no index; nor is there a list of references. From where does this information come?

When Algol falls into flesh, and the Eye opens in the clay, the knife falls into Abel, in a swift orgasmic passion of self-love .To know Cain is to know Life, the possibility and the gaping void of death...."

Turgid, over written, and a mish mash of "interesting Ideas"
The author seriously needs to review what niche market there is "traditional Witchcraft" as the material herein is already covered elsewhere in a more ethical, efficient, and straight forward manner. Whilst I can see the need for some people to be as dark an mysterious as they can, puleeeze, this is way OTT. Surely the market for dark-childe-ov-kaos is pretty limited.
For anyone interested even in the darker currents of Trad-Craft, I would not recommend this book. I consider it wasted money.

If you're sickened by the patty cake club that the Silver Ravenwolf types have degenerated Witchcraft into, especially here
in America, then you will enjoy the MUCH darker take that is offered here by Michael W. Ford. Life is not made up of unicorns,
faerie wings, and group hugs - and if you deny the darkness within us all, you are deluding yourself. As always, BALANCE
is the Key. The Dark needs the Light - and vice-versa.

I found myself a bit distracted by the lack of specific references as to who the annecdotes were about. A lot of "a certain
high ranking executive in an important industry, in a major US city..." These days we expect to be told which executive in
which industry and and which in which city. Maybe we have all gotten a bit more skeptical about sources in the Internet age.
But that quibble asside, I have been making a concious effort to put Dr. Peale's ideas into practice, and found them very helpful. In another 50 years the presentation will seem more dated yet, but I am sure the ideas will be no less important. I am glad I bought the book.
As as has been noted in many other reviews, this book is about living a rich, full, happy life in a Christian framework. If that's not what you are looking for, keep looking!

I was looking for a read that would inspire and propel me forward at a time when my life was somewhat less than 'light and
breezy'. I learned that Norman Vincent Peale was the seed for many of the current popular self-reflection books and decided
to start with "The Power of Positive Thinking". I am not disappointed in my selection of this book but it is certainly not
a quick read or a page turner. I find that I must put the book down and reflect on the message which is uplifting and reassuring
... just what I needed. I have actually passed the book onto a friend for that very reason.

However, you don't become successful by positive thinking

Or, you may prefer to tear out the pages that are not worthwhile; Dyer has truly written some excellent books. However, the
ones you want to read are those he published in the 80's and 90's. There's a lot of sage wisdom to be found in those. But
this? Please. I've written this old man off mainly because he's discarded common sense for religious nonsense, and that's
really disappointing. May I share one of the bits of "insight" to be found in this book? Here: "LIVE the Ten Commandments".
Say WHAT?!? Once I read that, I nearly cracked up laughing. What delusion. Having said that, there are some good things in
the book, but it's not worth buying for them. Again, look to his earlier works for his best material, when he was mentally
sound and sharp.

This audio book is very powerful. I know it has played a dramatic part in my life... real quick, I was out one day, about
to go back to a partner who was frequently drinking to much... this day, I was about to pull my hair out, ready to go into
a huge tirad of blankety, blanks, and words that I can't write here...%$&*, kind of at my wits end... As he was very drunk
again......
well I just got this audio program, and put it on my car recorder.... I pulled over in amazement at what I heard... I listened for over 30 minutes.... I went back to my house with another whole new prospective, one of calm, love, peace and a willingness to understand what was going on though my partners head, and to really listen to him... For me It was a 100 percent turn around a much better approach.....
I highly recommend this program to help anyone...

Mr. Dyer's book and the companion CD are a life saving for me. I was going through a difficult relationship. I read the bood
and listened to the CD over and over for about 2 months, while I was driving, before sleeping, walking,& playing golf. I was
able to refocus on what matter most in my life (my children and my path). As a result, I am much more at peace and much happier
now. I strongly recommend to anyone who is looking for a way to find their own path to happiness.
It really does keep you on the path

Well, I popped in the CD and started listening to it this morning. I thought that it would be another one of Dyer's great
seminars or books on CD. All it is, is Dyer saying one inspirational statement after another after another after another.
At first I thought it was kind of meaningless because it's stuff that I know already, and then also started thinking that
there are so many sayings on this CD that I would never remember all of them. What good is it??! I was a little disappointed.
Well, about 20 minutes into listening to it, I found myself talking back at the CD like "oh yeah, you know it..." and "that's a great saying." And I found that I was really enjoying it. I listened to all of the sayings that I could until I got to work, but here's the thing. I didn't remember all of them. BUT, I did remember the ones that I needed to remember. It's so great how it worked.
Sidestepping - This morning I asked myself "OK, what can I do to control the ego today?". I told myself that I would do my stretches and exercises before going into work (which is something that I've never done in my entire life by the way) and then do a 4 lapper today on lunch around a small pond near my work (works out to be a little over a mile). I walked outside to go to work and saw that it was raining though... uh oh... After I got to work and lunchtime came, I heard my ego telling me, "It's raining. You don't need to go walking in the rain?! You can go tomorrow. It's not even that much exercise... walking... too little work to get wet over." This is what I was telling myself. I got up, grabbed my plastic poncho and went for my walk. I was the only one out there. People were looking at me funny. I didn't care one bit! I was having a blast!
The ego isn't a bad thing though. It's there to do what it thinks is best. It's trying to keep me safe. I reassure to my ego that everything will be fine no matter what happens and what risks I take. I did that today on my walk, but what made my walk today so great were the little sayings that Dyer said on his CD. It lifted me up to a new level. I've been seeking lately and this CD really pushed me to the next level. I know that on that walk that I changed the color of my aura - permanently. I've become a higher energy person - permanently. Just because of this wonderful, wet, spiritual, and godlike walk.
Get yourself a copy of this CD. Pop it in whenever you need to Stay on the Path.

I have only listened to the first CD for a few nights in a row and I totally zoned out! I did fall into a deep trance, perhaps
half asleep too! I felt a difference with my emotional well being right away! I feel more at peace, more alive and much more
positive about my life! I am a very spiritual person anyway, so these CD's are helping to solidify all of my beliefs! I feel
so much more in tune to the higher power of the universe! In some of the reviews, people are not crazy about the singing but
it is really sweet! I love acoustic guitar, so I find it to be lovely! I feel great and you will too!

is distracting and almost annoying. Good to listen to if you can check it out (free) from the library. Suzanne Wells, Author

I second Janet Boyer's reviews of this CDS. While I was excited to receive this as a gift when it first was released the tracks
relaxed me but that is all they did. The chanting and singing were soothing but this take on shamanic/boddhisattva suutra
energy clearing got a tad unstructured. This is a good set for actual ritualistic work but it echoed of a mish-mash of spiritual
woo-woo hymns. Raising vibration is more than metaphysical work ... it is the nuts and bolts or prayer, fasting, and solid
grounding in God's words. Nonetheless, this is a CD set that will relax but I disagree that it attunes your vibration. If
anything, it will spiritually confuse you and quite possibly attract spirits into your energy system that may tamper with
you. Choqette's is crossing a line calling on "Mother/Father God" and Holy Spirit outside the proper context of prayer and
reverance and mixing it into a pagan practice of calling in spirits who may not be of God. That is my bias so ... just be
aware that if this material makes you uncomfortable, it's YOUR intuition telling you something.

I have to agree with some of the other reviewers---I could NOT take the singing!! When I put on the first CD, I was so excited
because of what I'd read on the back of the jewel case. Then this folksy guitar starts playing, and I'm thinking okay, just
the intro to the CD...until Mark Stanton Welch starts singing this sappy tune with equally sappy lyrics: "Ask and I shall
receeeeeeeeive...calling my guide [breath] come...forth Teacher...willingly go with- [breath] -in I listen...Universe...help...me...fill
my [breath]...dream."
Maybe it's just because I'm a musician myself, but this style of singing really drives me nuts. I could *not* focus on the meditation because every time I'd start to relax, he'd start singing again, and the phrasing was all wrong. (Sorry, Mark!) He just kept sounding like he was running out of breath, since he kept taking breaths at all the wrong places. It chopped up the lyrics (sappy as they were) and made the folksy Kumbayah-campfire tune even worse.
Very disappointing, as I had such high hopes for this CD set. But I have to agree with the other reviewers: the music sounded like we were sitting around on floor pillows with people taking drags from a hookah and swaying in preparation for a love fest. Or, like a Taize service I once attended...and never will again.
For those used to BrainSync and the like, this is the far opposite end of the meditative universe, in my opinion. I haven't gotten through even *one* of these meditations--and I'm thinking of putting my copy on eBay or Amazon Marketplace.
If you like acoustic guitar with campfire-folk type music sung almost continually throughout your meditations, this is the set for you. If not, run away...run far, far away, and don't look back.

I've recently started exploring meditation as a way to calm my mind and relax after a stress filled day. Since I'm a novice
at this I find that soothing music and guided meditation works best at this stage of my learning and daily practice. I'm not
at all familiar with Sonia Choquette or Mark Stanton Welch, however the title "Attunement to Higher Vibrational Living" caught
my attention as I also enjoy listening to Kelly Howell's Brain Sync series. Well, I popped in the first CD and Mark starts
singing and I'm thinking, "Okay, this must be the into to the CD." Wrong! This guy sings and sings and sings! Not at ALL
what I was expecting. His singing was sooooo distracting I couldn't relax enough to get into the instructional portion led
by Sonia. Even the 'style' of music wasn't for me......All I could think of was the sixties love child era and waiting for
him to break out into a rendition of Kumba-ya. Not criticizing Mark's voice...it was very nice..just couldn't take it through
the ENTIRE CD...and the next...and so on.

As a life-long University of Oklahoma football fan (and alumni of the school), I was intrigued to learn about this book.
Due to injury, the author never made much of a public impact as a player in the OU football program, but, his story certainly
sounded very courageous.
I'm sure the author is a remarkable young man, but, the more of this book I read the more unsettled I became, not because of the content, but, because the author was obviously out of his element in attempting to write a full-length autobiography on his own, as most of us would be. A real publisher with any integrity, interested in assisting in the telling of this tale would have made an attempt to secure a ghost-writer.
Kudos to Eric Thunader for his courage and perseverence. Shame on Tate Publishing & Enterprises for, apparently, trying to make an easy dollar at the expense of this young man.

Played foe the 2000 National Championship OU football team. He over came domestic and child abuse and witnessed first hand
unbelievable violence. But he did over come and eventually succeed in his dreams. A five star review no doubt waiting on

While perhaps recently superseded by Skinner's "Complete Magician's Tables", this was the superlative magic(k)al reference
since its first publication by Llewellyn over ten years ago. Herein lies an extensive summary of correspondences and content
for most esoteric systems of both East and West. The volume is weighty, as one would expect of one with such ambitions, and
the subject matter extensive, accessible and thoroughly researched. While predominantly intended as a magician's equivalent
of a PDR, there is also a recommended course of study and extensive supplemental reading list - the latter interestingly not
reflecting a substantial number of texts from the publisher, Llewellyn, and hence has a much more credible air. Also included
is a list inspired by P.E.I. Bonewits' summary Laws of Magic from his book "Real Magic".
While Llewellyn has published some average works, this is one of the gems of the publishing house, and one for which ceremonial magicians of all traditions owe them a debt of gratitude.

I actually read through this entire book. It's mainly meant to be used as a resource guide, but in my personal opinion, anyone
who wants to use it for that purpose should read through it once to get an idea of what Whitcomb covers. It is one of the
most in-depth correspondance guides I've read. Whitcomb also offers coherent brief explanations on the various systems he
writes about. Whether this book is for a beginner or an experienced it has something for everyone and should be one of the
few books any magician is required to purchase.

She writes: Sick Girl Speaks is about a girl named Tiffany she was diagnose with cystic fibrois. She has her own opinion about doctors, she has to know everything about what they are doing or have to do to her.She has survived two transplants and been through alot. She explains how her friends and her family helped her through this. She has inspired me to say what i feel and the questions i want to ask especially because im the one with this disease and i'm curious.I would want the priviliged to meet Tiffany because i like how she explained her journey through cystis fibrosis.I like how she tells the reader what she knows now and what she has learn.
Tiffany had a very open personality and an open relationships with her doctors.I liked how she was able to express herself when she didn't understand or when she was to take her blood test she always wanted to know what was going on and why.she got very upset when they couldn't answer the question she would ask, or especially if they didn't know how to use a needle to take blood out. i wish i could be more like her by asking my doctors questions or telling them how i feel i just don't have that relationship because its hard for me to talk to my doctors like that.
Cousin thelma now that i have read this book it has inspired me and i would love to read the book that the twin girls wrote because i do feel i need more encouragement. Thank you for letting me have the opportunity to read this book. This is my first summary on a book that i read about cystic fibrosis thankyou and I Love You!!
