I have seen pimpin ken on tv and ddecided to see what his book was all about. After recieving the book I started reading it
and was hooked..I read and re-read the book and really grapsed all the information. Do not let the book title fool you, this
is more a motivational and information based book on how to better yourself. Great book and I would highly recommend it.

Bottom line Pimpin Ken has pimped the game of life once again.
Any of these laws can be used as a road map to success in any career tract chosen.
It is apparent though he left out a large amount of the deep parts of the game of pimpin' but it is more information than any other book on this topic to date.

After reading PIMPOLOGY, I would place it in the same category as Niccolo Machiavelli's THE PRINCE. Like he states in the
book, he is NOT promoting the trafficking of flesh. However, he does give a lesson about human nature. When I read it, there
were experiences he's had that I witnessed from my college coaches, former bosses and other characters in business. Just because
his background deals with pimping at a street level, I'll go to what he states in the last chapter. He states that the oldest
pimp game on Earth is the same as what builds nations: the control of money and people to achieve an objective or series of
objectives.
It's really a book about power and how it's used as a means to an end. Besides, it may help the reader recognize when a "pimp" game is being run on them and devise a counterattack to the game.

That should be the title. Very few new things to learn. The rest can be found in other motivational books. It seems that he
tried to fill pages of pimp knowledge with unrelated subjects to make a book.

"LIMPS". I READ IT JUST TO READ IT. BUT IF YOU READING IT TO BE A "PIMP" DON'T QUIT YOUR DAY JOB.

I am a devoted Francine Rivers fan and love her work. She, to me, is one of the most real Christian writers of our time.
She's not afraid to touch on topics for which many Christians would criticize her.
"Unveiled," though is not one of her best books. It just didn't flow very well for me. To be fair, I'm just not a big fan of the Old Testament stories (although I did love "The Red Tent") so maybe that's why I couldn't get into it.
I still love Francine Rivers and will always pick up her books.

Unveiled: Tamar (The Lineage of Grace Series #1)
What a GREAT Book! I absolutely did not want to put it down. When I did, I was so into it that I remembered where I left off and what had been going on. While it is a "Novella" therefore considered "fiction" I found that it followed scripture, simply turning it into a detailed story. I found the book intriguing and really enjoyed the Bible Study in the end of the book. I also purchased Unashamed: Rahab (The Lineage of Grace Series #2) by Francine Rivers. I am in the process of reading it and fully intend to purchase the other three books in the series! If you are into a GREAT read, any of the books by Francine Rivers are a sure bet. Her writing is riveting. Every book I've read of hers has been spectacular!!
Now that's my story, and I'm sticking to it!

This was an excellent story. I enjoy reading historical/biblically based novels. Unveiled is the story of the biblical character
Tamar and the trials she endured which eventually led to her inclusion in the lineage of the Christ. The bible is always
relevant, however, Unveiled allows deeper perspective into the life of Tamar. The book allowed me to ponder the character
of Tamar and the surrounding circumstances that likely influenced her actions. I was able to consider that Tamar may have
had the attributes of great faith and patience after reading this book. Previously I had not truly considered the time in
which Tamar lived (culture/custom, environment, gender roles, beliefs, etc.). I had not been able to conceive of how Tamar
could have slept with her father-in-law, Judah. At least not in the sense of seeing her as being 'heroic' or a woman to be
honored. Anyway, Tamar as well as Judah and other characters were real people and there are lessons in the story that all
can benefit from. When I re-read this and other bible stories after having read a historical novel based on the bible story
I usually feel as though I have gained a deeper understanding of the underlying message of the original bible story and an
even greater appreciation for God's great plan. I highly recommend this novel. I also enjoyed reading Sarah by Marek Halter,
a book of similar genre of Unveiled.

I bought this book for my Business Law class. The problem of this book is not that it's not good, instead, is that it's too
good to read. With tons of terms and actual court cases covered in the book, trying to finish the assigned chapter before
class becomes a really challenging and, sometimes, frustrating task. On the other hand, if you really like this course, this
may be the best business law textbook out there. You can really understand the logic behind the law and how the business law
has developed to promote fair, justice, and ethic in the US through the reading. I give it a 4 star because 1) as others have
mentioned, there are not too many things designed to help you read, like bold terms or spaces to take notes; 2) this book
may not be the right one for those who just want to get an idea of biz law and get back to work.

if you're looking at this book you probably need to buy it for a class you're taking. I'm taking for Business Law /Universal
Commercial Code. The book isn't the easiest read but the chapters are set up well enough. There are a lot of topics covered
and you get a few great examples of the topics discussed in the form of actual court cases. I'd give the book a higher rating
if it were broken down a little better. The pages are densely packed and the definitions aren't bolded but typically italicized
so they don't really stand out when you're reading through a second time. but if you have to buy it you have to buy it.
never tried the DVDs but I'm sure they're helpful.

This has to be the worst textbook I've ever used in my college career. I guess it's only fitting that the worlds most unhelpful
professor insist on the world's most unhelpful book.
The organization of each chapter is atrocious. There are no summaries, outlines, or list of terms at end of chapters (though there is an index and glossary, but I'm sure the authors only included this because they were required).
The only way to extract information out of this book is to read it page for page. And if you want to remember or review what you've just read you're left to outline it yourself or reread.
Had there been a study guide distributed with this book it might make more sense that the layout is so aweful... there is none.
Now I'm left to study for a test that covers five chapters (Approx. 200 pages) in two nights time. Thank YOU Mallor, Barnes, Bowers, and Langvardt. Thank YOU.

Get this book today. Fearless Living talks to those of us that are spending too much of our waking hours thinking and worrying
about yesterdays gone by or tomorrows that have yet to come, imagining circumstances our over active minds make up out of
thin air (people looking at us in a funny way so we make up a scenario that they don't like us for some imaginary reason).
Hahahaha! Been there, done that!?
This is wasting sooooo much of our time and lives, keeping us from living "right now" and in "the moment". Guy Finley is terrific and you will LOVE the book. It will change your life. It will make you HAPPY!

This has become my current favorite self-development/motivational book. I've purchased so many books of this type, but always
ended up feeling like something was still missing, or I didn't quite get, and end up buying other books in the hopes one of
the them would unlock whatever it was I was trying to resolve. I've read it twice in the last 3 weeks, scribbling notes all
over it, and I think somewhere inside is the key to that 'thing' I've been searching for. Not sure what exactly what that
thing is, but situations that would've been stressful for me [recently] have completely vanished, I realized in hindsight.
As far as personal developement goes I've made tremendous gains, and the urge to keep looking for the next book has vanished and I plan on reading it again in the near future.
I think it's all in the framing. Finley has a way of writing that combines good NLP with the lyricalness of, say, John O'Donohue.

Over the years, Guy Finley's output has been truly prolific. Books, cds, videos that interpret timeless spiritual wisdom in
a modern way. This book borrows a little from his most inpiring moments. I found it truly inpirational from start to finish,
pointing to the true nature of self from many different angles. Guy has a very unique style of sharing the wisdom, often employing
little parables, humour and poetic writing. In his audio material, there is the added dimension of his very emotive voice.
To select just one example of what touched me in this book, his unfolding of the biblical verse 'be still and know that I am God' (Psalms 46:10) was a wonderful revelation. He points to the reality that 'who we are' is the underlying stillness beneath our thoughts and emotions. 'Be still and be free.'

Law 101 is nothing if not informative about our legal system and its roots in English Common Law, but it despite the author's
best efforts, it reads like a reference book. The average person on the street would probably not be able to absorb much,
despite what the blurbs on the jacket say, but it may be a good primer for potential law students.

The book basically does what it claims it's going to do. It gives you a clear and relatively simple overview of the American
legal system. Furthermore, it constantly uses Supreme Court cases as a way of showing how certain laws were created and constantly
changed over time as standards changed.
The writer doesn't get preachy or starts to discuss complicated theories and philosophies about law. He simply educates the reader on practical matters of our legal system. Some examples include how a typical case reaches the courtroom, the different kind of jobs attorneys and lawyers have, and how to write a legitimate will that will be recognized by law.
Overall, it's a great book for anyone that might be interested in Law School in the future or just someone that wants to be knowledgeable about the basic concepts of law.

For those with an interest in learning what the law is all about, this is a really great place to start. As others have mentioned,
it will be an excellent choice for those who are contemplating law school or paralegal studies. The author does a great job
of condensing important information on a variety of different areas within the law, and making them interesting by putting
the material into context with everyday life. Since the author wants to make the point that the law is something that can
be accessible and understood by all, the writing is in a user-friendly and very readable style. This book is worthwhile and
enjoyable reading for anyone with even the slightest interest in American law.

I read the book from front to back. It was a lot of information. However, good stuff. You definitely can learn to do your
own taxes on 1040EZ. The others are a bit more difficult, but doable; just need patience and some time to cross reference
what you are doing depending on how complicated your tax situation. Although, doable even for complex tax stuff in myriad
deductions and credits; I'd suggest doing it with a professional; then get those prepared tax papers then do a mock tax for
yourself as a practice and see if your numbers came out correctly, if so, then do next years yourself.
I buy it EVERY year

When I first bought this book, YEARS ago, and read it, I had written a review which the author found worthy of publication
in the introductory remarks. Nothing has changed except the SIZE of the book. It has gotten larger...I still believe EVERY
person in the United States, as part of a high-school curriculum, should be REQUIRED to read this book. You WILL understand
the tax system, why you pay taxes, how much you should pay, and END the STUPID, RIDICULOUS comments about a "FLAT TAX" and
television commercials about "getting a refund." If one understands the tax system, you learn you SHOULD NOT get a refund.
You should NOT owe, either. You should PAY ONLY what you should pay--and understand WHY you owe and pay what you do. (How
can a Presidential Candidate (Steve Forbes), who should be a financial genius, push a "flat tax"? Does he NOT understand,
that the tax system is DESIGNED to give your employer a tax-benefit for your salary he/she pays you? A tax benefit for your
health-insurance benefits you get? A FLAT TAX would destroy your employer's ability to GIVE you a job!) Yes, the tax system
is complicated--but it is complicated for a REASON--and this book will help you understand why that is. It is complicated
to HELP the tax-payer (although that seems at times counter-intuitive). I do not mind paying taxes--I just don't want the
governmental agencies to WASTE my tax money! I like good roads; I like public parks and good schools. I'm proud of my state
university (all paid with tax dollars)...I have purchased this book every year since it has been published. (A note to the
authors: maybe a section, alone, that summarizes the changes from the prior year ONLY would be helpful...and be careful,
it's getting too big--go back and look at the FIRST publication...that was IDEAL!) Recommended highly; there is NO substitute.
Do NOT buy the tax books written by the accounting firms (unless you're a tax professional or an accountant; if you're just
a good ol' fashioned American who wants to understand you 1040, then buy THIS book ONLY!)
Great Help!

As previously noted in other "law in a flash reviews," these cards are highly beneficial in mechanical courses, and useless
in more abstract and theoretical classes. One of the most useful sets is Evidence.
Great for study, but not to be used alone

Evidence, as one learns, is primarily "tribal knowledge" in that many of the rules are just something you need to learn the
exceptions to, and they don't always make sense. These are great for learning evidence, but they should not be used as your
only "question pack" because the cards provide points without a complex fact scenario. Siegel's and other books provide MBE
and written-style questions that are more useful, but these are good for the basics. It is a shame they are not available
for more topics. Be warned - many of these cards are duplicated in the "CrunchTime" book by the same company.

Studying evidence can be intimidating. It is just an endless series of exceptions to the basic rule that anything relevant
is admissible. And then exceptions to the exceptions. But the Law in a Flash series made it really manageable and easy to
understand and remember in small pieces that are digestible even when your brain is mush.
Great Gift!

There is nothing more riveting than the law in a flash series - especially the Evidence flashcards. I remember Christmases
past, sitting around the sparkling tree at the old cabin and laughing over the intricacies of hearsay with the whole family.
Every time I see a stack of flashcards, I remember Grandpa's Rule 403 joke and smile.

Kaplan/Princeton Review: I don't recommend wasting any time with either of these books. They are much too basic. If you want
to study for a couple weeks and just get familiar with the test, then these are fine. However, you won't do your best if you
rely simply on these general books.
I recommend the following study method:
Introduction to the test: Look at the free stuff from LSAC
Logic Games: Read the book "Ace the LSAT Logic Games", by Get Prepped.
Logical Reasoning: read the book "LSAT Logical Reasoning Bible", by Power Score.
Notice that the conditional reasoning, formal logic, and parallel reasoning sections are probably the most helpful sections. However, these questions are by far the hardest on the logical reasoning section. I recommend saving them for last to make sure you get done in time, since they are the most time consuming. (Before I read these sections I incorrectly thought conditional and logical reasoning was far to easy to be worth studying, since I had an engineering background.)
Reading Comprehension: don't read any books that tell you to highlight and underline stuff, you won't have time to finish the exam. Instead, read a bunch of novels to improve your reading skills if you were never much of a reader before. So ladies, read some romance novels, and guys well you know what to read.
Lastly, make sure to put down all study books the entire week before the test and simply do practice exams.

After looking at almost every LSAT book I'm pleased I went with the Kaplan Comprehensive. It's a great guide to how to study
and does a good job reviewing each area of the test.

I am taking the LSAT in less than 2 weeks. As you can imagine, I have been studying hard for the last month. I have completed
two programs so far, the one offered by Kaplan and the one offered by Princeton Review.
I did the Kaplan one first, and though I did not find the "tips" useful (such as, "use scratch work", "slow down to speed up"), I thought it was a fair preparation course and was pleased with my results on the practice tests included.
Then I got to the Princeton book and was blown away by the difference. Less fluff, more serious analysis, more detailed break down and strategies. It is really beyond compare. And, the drill questions in the Princeton book were MUCH harder. This is to your benefit.
You can compare the books yourself.
Princeton spends 98 pages on analysis of logical reasoning, Kaplan spends 17 pages.
(I am only counting advice, analysis and tips, not practice questions.)
Games, 96 pages in Princeton, 21 in Kaplan.
Reading Comprehension, 33 Princeton, 15 in Kaplan.
The difference really is that dramatic.
Kaplan has a "better score guarantee" -- well I guarantee, you will not be prepared if you use Kaplan's program.
It would almost be impossible to not increase your score at least marginally by the time your next test rolls around because you will at least be aware that scratch paper is not allowed (mentioned in Princeton, not Kaplan) and other reality checks that will come from actually taking the test.
I do not work for any of these companies, I am just a student. I feel like Kaplan's program is borderline sabotage and will only give a false sense of security. Kaplan gets 2 stars from me because I am giving them the benefit of the doubt, regarding malicious intent.
If you are preparing for the LSATs, buy the Princeton book. Buy 10 actual previously administered tests from LSAC (this is the most accurate way to assess your progress). Give yourself at least 4 weeks to study. Set a calendar and stick to it, and also take advantage of all online resources available for additional practice.
You should also buy a digital kitchen timer to help with pacing.
