Law Books

I purchased Anderson's Business Law (18th Edition) for my wife as she is a business owner. The book is a beefy college textbook and made with quality paper. Its use of color throughout the text made it easy to read and find a section within the book. The book provides case examples, sources, and website references for each section of law it covers. This book was actually very interesting to read. I highly recommend this book for the small business owner and those who have an interest in the law.

This book provides an easy to read, plenty of examples look on complex ideas like law, rules and contracts to name a few. Laws does not have to be complicated with this book.

This is an excellent reference tool, especially for estate and trust administration paralegals. It is good for those with a low to intermediate knowledge base of the subjects.

I normally love E&E. (The civil procedure E&E is wonderful). This one highly lacks.

The explanations of the concepts (before the examples) are poor. They barely skim the surface of certain concepts and as a result, I kept having to use another supplements to 'supplement' the explanations of this supplement. The explanations do not not give you enough black letter law.

The strength in this title - UPC intestate distribution discussion and examples. That's about it.

I had to read this book for a graduate class and I found it very helpful and informative as a human rights "beginner." It is not so dense that it is difficult to read but it's also not a watered-down text.

In a sense, this book is so good it doesn't need a review. Almost everyone knows that the Donnelly book is the standard and most readable text on human rights theory. It is a good starter book for the beginner. You'll learn something new on every page. My copy is full of irresistable, self-made underlines, markings, and comments in the margins. It's also a good reference book, one that you'll return to time and time again. Donnelly's method of abbreviation, for example, is standard for the main UN proclamation and two binding covenants (treaties): (U for UDHR; E for CESCR; and C for CCPR). The book differentiates between regimes that exist for declaratory or promotional purposes and those which are involved in implementation of policy or monitoring and enforcement, and Donnelly pulls no punches when pointing out that some state reports in response to Protocol complaints are nothing more than farces. It is found, for example, that there is little reason why the Arab League and various Third Way movements should even be considered human rights organizations. After reading several books and on-line articles on non-profit management, I have found this book to be one of the most helpful that you can find. It has everything from strategic planning, to board and staff relations. What a great book! Even with my years of experience in working with non-profit organizations I still found this book to be very helpful.

This small book is sooo powerful it is unbelievable! I had so many aha moments that it shocked me. Would recommend this book to everyone at every age.

I picked this book up after leafing through it a bit, and what I found intrigued me to buy it. It's an interesting journey through life and growth, offering insight along the way. "The Laws of Spirit" can be read quickly, but should be savored for its rich content. Our life is always open to transformation, and only we have the power to fully direct that transformation. All life is a journey, and this books helps lay it out in simple terms to achieve balance in life. Elaine Williams

I came across this little book completely by accident (fate?) in a bookcase/library of about 800 books while renting a house for a few weeks scouting locations for my company. I was at a very low point in my life and this book taught me a new way of looking at almost every detail. This particular Dan Millman book shows you how we make life so much more difficult than it has to be. I have purchased and given away almost 40 copies of this book to friends, family, and sometimes to people I have just met or barely know that seem lost or overwhelmed with life. Suggestion: Find a spot that is special to you to sit back and absorb this book...it's an easy "short read" and I hope it speaks to you as it has to me and many others.

This book is short and to the point. The problem is that once you have the tools in this book, can you apply them. That seems to be my downfall. Another good guide book out there by my favorite author.

This is a must have for any Physical Therapy student or licensed PT. I own 3 Physical Therapy practices and it has helped me to improve all aspects of business.
Simple and relevant.

This text provides the working foundations for all professional physical therapists into the world of administration. This text gives a wonderful covering of the entire spectrum of issues that may be addresses for the PT manager and serves as a great introductory element!

Well, it's a law school text book. What do you want me to say? I work a lot. It does a good job at facilitating that.

This book was used during my lawyering process class and is used in an attempt for the 1st year law student to become aclomated to the tortures of legal writing and analysis. Overall this is a pretty good book that does give the entering law student a good foundation to start with it. However, the writing problems and questions used for practice are really hit or miss, with some benig good, and some being just plain ridiculous.

Overall, there are better books out there than this to help you with legal writing (statsky comes to mind).

THEY are forcing me to read this book for my first year lawyering process class in law school. It really is a good book. It's nuts and bolts of "doing" law, including reading, writing, analyzing. I read a lot of those "buy this book and you won't be scared of law school" books, and with few exceptions they were disappointing. I am so happy to finally be into the meat of law school. While I would not recommend buying this book to the casual reader, it would be worth a glance if you are starting, or considering starting law school. Support your local library!

The problem with this book is that she is constantly telling you to write special little paragraphs with little or no explanation or reason for their existence. Instead of telling you how to write a paper, she tells you all kinds of "specialty paragraphs" that you must include in your paper.

For example, here's what she says should be in the "analysis section" of a trial brief (remember this is just part of a brief):
1) An Umbrella section containing
a rule summary and
controlling authority and
rule definition and
principles affecting the rule application and
argument summary and
resolution of potential "resistance"
2) A Standard paradigm (don't ask what it is or why she calls it that)
3) A rule statement with two sub-parts
4) A rule explanation with four sub-parts
5) A "factual conclusion" with a conclusion two sections before your actual conclusion
6) A rule application with three sub-parts
7) A conclusion with two sub-parts

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

My intro CJ class was assigned this textbook and about half of our test came out of assigned readings, so I spent a good deal of time with this book. I found the book to be professionally written yet easy to digest, even for a college freshman. It gets updated every year, but I compared my 1yr old text with the newer version a classmate had and almost nothing had changed besides these little real-world story blurbs that are spread throughout the book, so you could save some money that way.

I found this book, while currently enrolled at a local 2 year college in Criminal Justice,to be very helpful in explaining how the Criminal Justice system works, from early initiaion of law enforcement practices to modern day. There are many fascinating aspects to explore, and learn from within this text. It also helps to have an instructor that is knowledgeable with the text, so the teaching can be understood.

This book is very educational for those who are majoring or minoring in Criminal Justice. The book itself explains how the Criminal Justice works. In addition to this, the book helps you understand the laws. It also allows you to understand each and every law that the government of the United States has set. The author of this book seems to be very detailed and specific about every law and details of these. Another thing that makes this such a great book to any college student who has great interest in learning Criminal Justice is that it has great illustrations to explain the rights and wrongs of the law.

I have always trusted Nolo products so this book was a given for me. I like the CD that came with it. It is a very well written, easy to understand book.

If you want info clear and concise....English!!! Better than those for dummies!!

The book also includes many of the legal forms you will need both in tear-out page form and on a CD-ROM so you can print out more copies on your computer. This book is easy to follow and thorough. I highly recommend it.

Wow!!! Abraham continues to amaze me and I feel so blessed to live in a lifetime to experience such clarity to so many questions that I have asked. All is well!!!!

I purchased this audio book (8cds!) on Sunday, and I have not stopped listening to the work. I listen to it when I walk around the city, when I am home doing stuff, and actually have taken the ipod to bed (I made the CDs into mp3s) and listened until I fall asleep. Somehow hearing Esther or Jerry speaking gives me a "buzz" and I enjoy replaying certain "chapters" just because the intonation of the work brings a smile to my face.

I am truly grateful to have encountered this work and am already looking at how I have been pointing "up-stream" on certain issues. Initially, I thought this work was about explaining what fear meant, what jealousy meant, and so on so that I would have a glossary of meanings for all the feelings I experience.

But now I realize that it is really not necessary to analyze what these feelings mean or where they come from. That's just paddling up-stream stuff. It is as simple as closing the gap or widening the gap, between where my "essence" has expanded to be and where my "personality" is currently at.

At the beginning you may find it a little confusing but the it only keeps getting better & better, i think the las CD is the best, i listened to it while drinving, its empowering and gives you a sense of peace of mind

While I dont write many reviews, I felt that this book is worthy of one. Like others have mentioned, this book is not usual for the Hicks series as it is basically just Jerry reading. The content however is phenominal. The impact of what I learned in this book has taken my situation from its lowest point to a much better place not only financially, but relationship wise as well. I truly understand now why my life is the way it is and my responsibility to that. I would recommend this book to anyone who is trying to better their life and or struggling with relationships and self esteem. I cant even begin to express how this has saved my life and how much appreciation I have for it.

I see from the reviews that others could listen to this CD-set but I could not get past the 3rd CD before giving up. As much as I appreciate Jerry Hicks for all he has contributed, I simply could not listen to him drone on reading this book. He reads too fast in a dull, flat monotone voice that I found intolerable after a short while. I intend to never buy another CD of Jerry reading any of the Abraham-Hicks books. I truly think they should either re-record the book with someone else reading it or offer people their money back. I recommend buying the original book instead of this audiobook.
