Astrology Books

I've read many of Joe Vitale's other books, but this one is truly different. It is outstanding. It's all about how he came to know about and put into practice the art of Ho'opononono. I really enjoyed it.

This book has transformed my life! I only wish I had read it sooner.
Most amazing.

This book's focus is love, forgiveness, taking responsibility for your life, and living in the present rather than hanging onto regret and recrimination. Most spiritual approaches share these beliefs and the book presents little that is new, except its aloha twist. Author Joe Vitale brings in the Hawaiian perspective of his co-author, Ihaleakala Hew Len, a Hawaiian therapist and Ph.D., who advocates the "//ho'oponopono//" method. The authors' emphasis on cleansing and love is a lot like the repentance and love of Christianity, and the emphasis on the universe existing only in your mind has a neo-Buddhist flavor. Skeptics may find that the recommendation to make a batch of special cleansing water pushes their envelope one notch too far. A larger stumbling block is that although many spiritual leaders teach the emptiness of pursuing money and material wealth, this book makes wealth a goal, and suggests that you can receive riches by ridding yourself of blocked memories. To talk of spirituality as the source of record-breaking sales of luxury sedans seems somewhat self-contradictory, but the book is otherwise straight new-age self-help, though// getAbstract// appreciates its Hawaiian flavor.

Before I bought this book, I read the other reviews. Based on some of the
negative comments, I waited a long time before I actually bought it.
I noticed in one of the reviews by a psychiatrist, he said that Joe was
trying to promote himself. After reading Zero Limits, (three times through
because it was so good), I did not see it this way. I could see that he did make mention of his other books as well as many other authors and their books. He promoted many people in Zero Limits, not just himself. It seemed reasonable to me.
The magic in ho'oponopono is it's utter simplicity. It is so simple that
many people will not like it and not believe it. Due to it's subtleness,
I reread his book several times to pick up all the simple guidance that
Joe and Dr. Len offer. If someone chooses to practice ho'oponopono,
it will change their life. I have so much more peace and acceptance just
by practicing these simple steps. Read the book with an open heart and
an open mind, and experience a quietness that is 'Divine'.

The 4 chants taught in the book are the keys to maintaining a peaceful consciousness that is very difficult to achieve in this world of noise and chaos. Once you get into the habit of chanting the Zero Limit keys, it gets easier to manage your life and takes less and less time to get into zero state which is the God state, or your moving into your center state. Try it. There's nothing to lose by learning something new.

Anyway, this is now my reference for anything I want to know about a person. The Secret Language Of Relationships is just as good. Definitely get it if you don't own either already!

This book is great, i bought it for my sister, as i already have one of my own, and considering it had to travel from america, it got here very fast!

We have this at our cabin on the lake. It is a fun for visitors to look up their birthdays and their loved ones. A great coffee-table type book when you have company.

This book gives a detailed look into the personalities of each day of the year. A great book and interesting study of all the people you know.

Absolutely delightful book - fun, entertaining, and guaranteed to surprise and delight readers with what can only be called an uncanny accuracy...WOW! Makes a beautiful gift...especially for those who simply enjoy life and refuse to get caught up in the age-old astrology debate. Read your own birthday and then decide! I have purchased many books on astrology and i can honestly say this is a very detailed book. Best one i have bought.

I am a beginner who struggle often with birth times/time zones (I was not born in the USA/western hemisphere), and this new edition includes a CD-ROM that spits out a natal chart within a minute after you input the date, time, place of birth! Just that was worth the price of this book! I also appreciate the reference page following the natal chart, which directs the reader to the appropriate explanations in the book. The descriptions are easy to understand, and I now I am ready to go deeper and learn more about the aspects and houses. It does leave you with questions about predictions and more specific interpretations. Great intro!

Excellent treatment in one single title. Not only is the treatment wonderful, but the langugae is exquisite too. For long time astrology fans, wishing to get more technical, you have it all arranged for you. The software CD is real good. I am enjoying plotting charts one after the other. Dont trust the short and geenral analysis of the CD though. Thats just to whet the appetite.

This is a really good book for beginners who want to learn more about houses, rising and moon signs, and how the planets' positions make everyone's personalities different from each other, even if they are both the same astro sign. It makes creating your own natal charts easy, is organized, and is simple to read. Covers different houses and such, I would suggest this pretty much covers everything in terms of intermediate astrology. However, keep in mind that this book doesn't cover more advanced topics like your lilith, chiron, and true node, etc.

The Mayan Code: Time Acceleration and Awakening the World Mind
I found the material to be very interesting and would have rate the book four stars; except that in reading the book the material is a bit too choppy to follow, chapters don't link together too well. Outside of that very interesting book.

The Mayan Code is a book I found I was not able to put down. As I read I found places within my being relaxing in a way I have not felt before. This is a magical gift to the reader. Barbara Hand Clow writes in such way that brings understanding about the Mayan Calendar in easy to understand insights. I am grateful for the references she has given regards Calleman's work along with the many other book titles and authors mentioned thoughout the read. I look forward to reading more of her works and feel a great gratitude for the support given to me within the reading of this book.

As many many events in my life occur at an increasingly faster pace,going beyond coincidence, beyond karma and destiny, this book explains the reasons why the world consciouness is accelerating towards a higher dimension and why we need to understand and appreciate everything that is happening now, from a more profound point of view.Read it and grow, start becoming a believer.

The title sounds great, and the topic is fascinating. This reads more like a disorganized book report put together to meet a certain number of pages. The author continuously refers to Calleman, which makes it all that much worse. If I wanted to read Calleman, I would have bought his book and read it.

Her continued bantering about the American Evil Empire is rediculous. How did such an interesting topic become such a political book? The title should be more like I hate America, and I bring up some unorganized thoughts about the Mayan Calendar along the way.

Don't waste your money or your time. Read some other authors on this topic...

My 11-year old son loves to draw. His skills are self taught, and he has checked out MANY books from the library over the years. He recently checked out this book and declared it one of the best he'd ever seen. (I bought it from Amazon for a Christmas present.) Even though he already understands shading, perspective, etc., he thought this book helped him improve even more. The book also has a lot on drawing people and faces, which can be very challenging.

I ordered this book based on some of the reviews I had read and I am very impressed with it. Though it is geared for kids, it is great for older artists as well. It breaks down steps and procedures wonderfully and presents them in a very informative many. If you want to learn the basics of drawing I would strongly recommend this book. Enjoy!

We purchased this book for our 7-year old daughter. The book is written and illustrated in a manner that she was able to open the book, read it and go by the illustrations by herself. She has been using this book almost daily since Christmas.

The book has enough explanations for those children that want to learn basics of drawing on themselves.

This book is excellent for the beginning art teacher and drawing student. I am basing a lot of my curriculum on ideas inspired by this book in my upcoming school year. It takes your thoroughly through each step/stage of learning to draw so that anyone can master it! Great illustrations and ideas are perfectly fit onto each page, without annoying "materpieces" that you don't think possible. By the end, you will be drawing with the best of them-- and students will too!

The only calendar in the world that comes with instructions on how to use the information it provides. The articles included in the calendar are excellent lessons for those new to the concept of Astrology, and a review for students.
I order the calendar as soon as it is available. I spend several hours with my new calendar highlighting important astrological events during the year ahead. Since I'm a professional Astrologer, I rely on the calendar, I have one in the kitchen and the other next to my phone. I write appointments as well as class schedules in the ample white space.
This years artwork by Echo Chernik is beautiful and filled with instructive details.

I buy this calendar every year and hang it up. Not only is it beautiful to look at (every year the pictures are different),but it also gives basic horoscope for every sign each month and tells you when to plant. I've been buying it for the past 20 years.

I teach a Christian Studies class and purchased this book as a possible recommended reading for my students. It's a book that is worth every penny. It's both captivating and inspiring. My students will be better equipped to fight the battle for their minds!

This is a wonderful book. I discovered Joyce Meyer recently. I found this book to be helpful and encouraging. Changing your thoughts is very important for anyone who is self critical, discouraged, depressed, etc...It's a choice and encouraging to know there is a choice instead of just listening to negative internal dialogue. I have had many problems with anxiety through out my life. I can honestly say that no amount of therapy helped more than this book! I would recommend this book to everyone! I loved this book and it brought me closer to who I want to be! ....Read it!

This book helped me to get to a better place in my life, and I would reccommend it to any teenager trying to get close to God but feels conflicted about how they should conduct thier life. The language and ideas are geared for teens and there's no way that you can be a new Christian and not read this book. It's a must read! Be blessed.

I received a teaching once that basicly said that when you get right down to it the Devil really only has two methods for tempting us: 1. Pressure 2. Pleasure. The Devil has three maxims which allows him to pull this off : 1. You (your own thoughts, bad habits, exc.) 2. The environment (Government, religious oppression, the systems of the world, exc.), and 3. Other people. Joyce Meyer's "Battlefield Of The Mind" is mostly geared at the one maxim each of us have the most control over (You, yourself, your thoughts, and YOU).

Joyce masterfully explains how that old Advesary The Devil works by waiting for the right moment (he`s not only a parasite but he`s also a predator). He waits to see where your weak, when your most vulnerable moment is, and he waits for that moment to attack. The Bible says "Resist the Devil and he will flee from you." Perfect example is Luke chapter 6, The devil waits for Jesus to be 40 days and nights in the wilderness before he attacks. He didn't come the first day to attack him when our Lord was at his strongest. Oh no, our advesary doesn't play fair; he bides his time and waits for your weakest moment and attacks. Jesus resisted him and the devil fled from him (for awhile). Best thing is we have victory through our risen Lord this very day if we claim it. Joyce does a great job of illustrating this in this book(though I don't know if she used the Luke example I used above or not).

I really got a lot of insight from this book. For example, one of the concepts in the book (in my own words) was "what comes out of your mouth had to originate in your brain." Sounds simple enough , but Joyce had a masterful way of describing every thought we commonly have today and referring it to biblical passages. About half way through the book I began to realize that the grumbling, griping, complaining, and various other human emotions and thoughts I have are not uncommon to our time. The children of Israel went through these same emotions and they are all recorded in Gods Word. I used to ponder how stupid these people must have been, but now I can see myself in them. It really was a humbling experience! Many of us make the same mistake over and over again and ask God, "Why don't you do something?" Truth is God has always been willing to help us. We are the ones who get in God's way by not bringing our thoughts into the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). Read this book and find out how you can change and train your mind to shut the door on The Devil and how to allow God to do what he's always been willing to do. BLESS YOU!!!

This book is about all kinds of relationships. It's a good conversation starter, as well as interesting to read on your own.

I had read The Secret Language of Birthdays by this author and loved how dead on it was. I was so excited to get this book, but skeptical once I read the reviews. It's fun to pick out some qualities and try to fit them into your life and relationships, but the book gives alot of the same information as the other titles in the series. Whatever you do, take it lightheartedly, don't base your life decisions on what's written on the pages. It's fun to look over with friends at a party.

Been eyeing this book for a LONG time and I finally got it. No regrets. Brilliant info and creepy that it's sooo right on.

The book is very informative. Very detailed and easy to follow. It is well laid out and easy to read.

This is an amazingly accurate picture of your moon signs. giving you a great overview of what karma you are here to overcome and lessons needed to learn. its more impressive that sun signs for sure. i have recommended it to at least a dozen people.

If you've ever wanted to learn just what a "North Node" means in an astrological chart and what it can do for you, this is the book for you! This astrological discusses what each North Node position means in great detail and she does not mince words about the negative traits associated with any position. (My North Node is in Libra, and she had a lot of choice things to say about those of us with this position.)

I will be checking to see if she has any more books available. I'd like to see what she has to say about other astrology-related topics.

Everyone I show this book to gets their mind blown. Regardless of your opinions on metaphysical things like astrology or past lives, this is a VERY insightful, enlightening book. It spells out one's weak spots to work on and one's natural talents, as well. I find if quite helpful in understanding family members, friends, lovers and myself. I own scads of astrology books and I use this one probably the most. A not-to-be-missed book!

This wonderful book by Jan Spiller is not new to me. I consulted its wise pages some years ago when I borrowed it from a friend. Now I have found I really need to have a copy of my own, and have sent two as gifts to others. I find the various descriptions of North Nodes extremely accurate. A real find.

Let me first say that only about 10% of this book covers the topic of sex, so the title is not all together accurate. I'm sure it was a marketing ploy because we all know sex sells! Yeah, baby! Not to say this book is not as engaging as the title would have you believe. I could not put it down, and believe me, there is a *lot* to get through until you hit the juicy parts. The writing is very, very detailed, with lots of sidebars and tangents that are very colorful and descriptive (and accurate!). This book was so deeply insightful for me in particular. In reading about my sun sign, I felt as though the authors had sampled my psyche like so much DNA, put it in a centrifuge, isolated the components, and written in stunningly accurate detail about each one. It nailed my mother, my father, me in high school, how I dress, how I show (or don't show) my feelings, how I see my life, etc. It was a little unnerving to be such a predictable character, but it also reassured that I am as self-aware as I had imagined. There was one of the things about sex I don't agree with, not that they were wrong but they didn't go into as much detail about it as they did the psyche. I won't spoil it but the thing they said I wouldn't submit to, well for the most part I don't but that doesn't mean I don't like doing it to someone else! I agree with the other reviewer that recommended reading the rising sign. I'm going to read my rising and moon sign as well.

Great fun if you are into astrology, and its not ALL about sex. Probably one of the more accurate books I've read on signs. Enjoy~

Yup, I have a few astrology books out there - including one coming out July 2008 called "LOVE IS IN THE STARS - Wicked and Uncensored Advice for Getting the (Almost) Perfect Guy"... but, ah, no - this is not blatant PR. Quite the opposite: I'm stating my credentials for conceding and lotsa-star recommending ;) that this must be a polished addition to any collection (married or single). Truth is, I simply couldn't help myself: I had to write a shining, rave review of Sextrology. And no, I don't personally know the authors. What I do know is this.. Astrology books these days cover the surface - these authors go in deep and get it right. It's not often I expound poetic - there are only a handful of astrologers I truly think have got the goods - but I craved this down to every page. They did a fabulous, entertaining, masterful job. So well done. And you should own it. Bravo to both.

A fun read! No, there aren't twelve personality types or astrological archetypes and, yes, there are many other factors at play in a birth chart. I've read other astrology books (I have Linda Goodman's classic "Love Signs" too, an oldie but goody), but this one is not just about sex and really goes into detail about the psyche. I don't agree with everything in it, but I did find some startling revelations about my sign. I think it may have saved me a few sessions of therapy. Worth checking out, even just for fun. And I love the suggestive cover.
