New Age Alternative Belief Books

These are a compendium of papers written at various times in Alfred Russell Wallace's career and cover some very interesting and important subjects which tells you a lot about Mr. Wallace's views on Spiritualism. Mr. Wallace is credited as being a co-discoverer of evolution along with Charles Darwin and has written several important books on travels on the Amazon River and the Malay Archepeligo and this book is often referred to but until now has not been made available to the general public. Thanks to the reprint publishers in Montana it is now available and fills in a lot of important data which explains the views of the co-discoverer of evolution. While it is rare and important, it is not over-long and is worthy of a good read. I highly recommend it.

Although Charles Darwin is the person always credited with developing the natural selection theory of evolution, history has it that Alfred Russel Wallace developed his own theory at the same time as Darwin was working on his. Wallace sent his theory to Darwin and when Darwin gave his presentation to the Linnaen Society in London during 1858, he also presented Wallace's parallel theory, from which came "the survival of the fittest."

At the time he was working on his theory of evolution,
Wallace was a complete materialist. "I was so thorough and confirmed a materialist that I could not at that time find a
place in my mind for the conception of spiritual existence, or for any agencies in the universe than matter and force," he
writes in the preface.

Wallace came to believe in the reality of spirit
communication and became an ardent Spiritualist. Many mainstream scientists of the day scoffed,sneered, and snickered, but Wallace remained steadfast in his beliefs. "I assert without fear of contradictionn that whenever the scientific men of any age have denied the facts of investigators on a priori grounds, they have always been wrong," he answered his critics.

Wallace gathers together the best evidence of the 19th Century and the testimony of esteemed scholars and scientists of that era who also investigated mediumship and spirit phenomena.

The words and wisdom of this book are as applicable today as they were 106 years ago. It makes one wonder why mainstream science has made so little progress in awakening to the Truths discovered by Wallace and others, suggesting perhaps that Truth is beyond absolute proof and that spiritual evolution requires constant seeking, searching, and striving.

To further quote Wallace: "My position, therefore, is that the phenomena of Spiritualism, in their entirety do not require further confirmationn. They are proved quite as well as any facts are proved in other sciences."

Finally a believable scenario. You hear all these crazy straw grasping theories all the time and think "I'm not buying this" but the auther gave some really convincing evedence.

This lady just blows my my mind away with her other book beginnings. This book does the same.The math in this book is all most unbelievable.

This is a good book,not the greatest. She gives you the knowledge of a witches psychic wisdom ,but not very knowledge of the psychic ablities. So book is not that bad,so don't be harsh of it.

Most of the things that Cassandra Eason describes are in fact a lot easier than they seem from the book. Psychic development is a personal discovery of one's own natural abilities. Thus it is unfortunate, that certain things and the techniques that the author talks about are simply not true or incomplete. In her defence, however, it has to be said that a lot of these abilities, such as clairvoyance, or astral travel, etc, are techniques that are very difficult to describe. I would say that about 80% of the techniques outlined in this book could work, whereas the remaining 20% are nonsense.

For someone, who already has certain psychic abilities that he or she is aware of, this book will probably be a disappointment. You'd be better off looking for something more specific. However, for most people who are yet unaware of their abilities or who are just interested in what is possible, this book will be very good, as the general outline is excellent. Further, this book provides some very good examples of what is possible within us.

This book should be awarded 3,5 stars out of five, since it is generally very good, but fails to deliver some consistent information. It is a very good book for beginners though

"The Guide to Psychic Development"by Cassandra Eason is the best book on PSYCHISM I`ve ever read in my present life.I`ve got a copy of its very 1st edition (1997)three years ago,and since then my life has transformed for the better.My first psychic experiences started much earlier in the late 1980s when I meditated regularly-but I could not achieve to find a good psychic person,or at least a helpful book for further advice and improvement of my abilities.In "The Guide to Psychic Development"I could get the most valuable information I always longed for,and I`m exceedingly grateful to Mrs.Eason for her "help":The exercises in the book are all quite easy to work out for everyone on her/his personal psychic way,there is information on topics as dreams/lucidity/psychic senses/oobes/astral projection/pendulum dowsing/chakras and colors and crystals/ghosts/spirit-guides/reincarnation etc.The book is very,very helpful for me as I am into Crystals(=I own a large collection for many purposes already)/Ayurveda and TCM/meditation/dreams and lucidity/astral projection/remote viewing/clairvoyance/clairaudience/psychometry/pendulum dowsing,and I am living as an artist/designer(ceramics)with my lovely cats and birds in the countryside.I am very much convinced,that a vegetarian life-style,a peaceful life in the beautiful nature and-not to forget-Indian/Chinese/European Classical music-and Literature support me on my personal psychic way

I have not read the whole book, but only the sample pages presented here. From reviewing the Table of Contents and the Index I see many of the same things covered in two years of study I had with a Psychic in the 1970's. From the sample pages the author presents the subject matter in a straightforward easy to follow manner. Working with Psychic Energy is not difficult and does produce results; however ethical practices MUST be followed: NEVER do psychic work for someone else without their permission, NEVER send any kind of negative thoughts or intention to anyone (remember the law of threefold return, whatever you send out you get back three times over).
I wish this book had been available thirty years ago, it would have saved me those two years of study and about a years worth of self study after that.

These books contain a great deal of advanced spiritual information. The Berg's state that it is information that can stand alone, but since it is a detailed explanation of the deeper meanings of God's law, it is really necessary to have a background in that law. It would be wise to read the five books of the Torah first, although they have notes in the text referring to the appropriate texts of the law the Zohar section is discussing.

Most Christians will take exception to much of what the Zohar has to teach, but that is because of their own misunderstanding of the law and the ultimate sacrifice it required. Once there is an adequate background in the law and its spiritual meaning (Romans 7:14), the Zohar will begin to take on a great deal of meaning for the Christian, and his eyes will be opened in ways, and to truths that cannot be found in church teaching, and may not easily be discovered from the Bible. "He who has ears, let him hear," Matt. 13:9. "For I tell you the truth, many prophets and righteous men longed to see what you see, but did not see it, and to hear what you hear, but did not hear it," Matt 13:17.

Before i read these books, i was really searching for reasons of life and why do things happen to me the way they do. I was so sick of being a victim and just being in NO control of my life. And then my best friend told me about the Zohar and told me that The Zohar facilitates the elimination of negative blockages - rather than experiences situations that cause you to become emotional, you became emotionally charged. So i bought it, and i have really experienced miracles in my life. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

This is the main books for all the teaching of kabbalah. Written over 2000 years ago during the item the bible was written. The Zohar is the commentary of the bible and the torah. Scanning the letters in this book will protect you, and the teachings are the greatest gift you will ever receive. Just own the book and having the book will give you great protection. The reading is advance, but their are great study guides by the Kabbalah Centre and other kabbalah organiztions around the world. This collection of books is worth every cent you spend on it.

Um, where do I start? THIS WORK IS NOT THE ACTUAL ZOHAR. It is a very badly translated and censored children's version of the Zohar, which is so badly butchered that it is misleading and useless.

Things you should know: Philip Shraga Berg, a former insurance salesman, claimed to be a rabbi and started his own Kabbalah religion called "The Kabbalah Centre". All of Berg's books on Kabbalah are full of terrible translations, censored and edited texts, and horrible commentary. His "explanations" are rejected by all Jewish authorities, Orthodox and non-Orthodox, religious and academic.

Finally, he isn't even accepted as a rabbi or as a Kabbalist by any of the Jewish denominations, and his work is rejected as totally inaccurate by modern-day. Instead of reading his nonsense, please check out books on this subject by real authorities and good writers:

I would suggest reading "Zohar: Annotated & Explained" by Daniel Chanan Matt and Andrew Harvey, or "The Wisdom of The Zohar: An Anthology of Texts", Ed. Isaiah Tishby, and translated from the Hebrew by David Goldstein.

i have read these books and have been sooo overly energized with LOVE for all people and for the world. I am so exicted to get the bigger picture about why i am here, i have been searching for that my entire life and finally i found it.
