I am a dad of a 2 years old boy.
This workbook has a simple and fun material which is exactly for kids around 2. I felt it's a bit pricy for what it has, but I am generally satisfied with this book since it's hard to find this kind of books for this age.

Excellent preschool activity book!

My 4 year old son loved this book. He did every page within a few weeks! Its more than just cutting... you cut things out or parts of things on page to make clever little things. I 100% recommend this. We also ordered Lets Fold, which we like and also give five stars. But, Let's Cut, is the best by far.

Great book!!!

My daughter loves this workbook. It is fun and lets them cut paper what child doesn't like that. When I saw how it progressed I was worried my daughter wouldn't be able to do it. We are almost finished with it and she has had no problem rising to the challenge these books are great.

I purchased two of these books for my two 3 yr. old boys. They have really enjoyed them. We do about one project a day most days from this and several pages of My First Book Of Tracing (Kumon Workbooks) for their "homework" The first few days were kinda crazy and one of them actually cut the palm of my hand. They just wanted to cut whatever (and draw wherever on the other book) I thought these were a horrible idea until the third day. Both of them seemed to finally understand what was going on and settled down. Now they look forward to it. We made rockets today and they "flew" them all over the house! I also now have a rule that after we do our work properly, we can cut other paper however we want. That has been very successful. In regards to the actual workbook - the paper quality is very high which makes holding the paper easier. It doesn't flop around. It is also shiny and slick so you can tape and remove tape with out damaging the picture. The colors are bright and very appealing to my children. I am very happy with this product.

First, David Icke is brilliant! This book completely changed my life. I've spent years researching many of the topics David Icke covers in this book, but I had made no connection between them. I simply became more and more disgusted by the human race, thinking the majority must be inherently evil. That is an emotionally draining and psychologically destructive place to be. After reading The David Icke Guide to the Global Conspiracy it all made sense, FINALLY! I now have a much clearer understanding of what is going on in this world and my faith in humanity has been restored. We have the ability to create an incredibly loving world, if we choose. This book will help help show you how we've reached this point and what we need to do to change it.

Great piece of work............

I just wanted to recommend this book to everyone who has a serious interest in how to view the changes that are predicted to come on this planet from now until 2013.The spiritual aspect is the only resonable viewpoint to have... It is obvious to most people that we are in need of a drastic shift in consciousness. Unfortunately it seems as though there is no other way to get through to people than to shake it up a little. You have to realize that we have passed a point of no return with our mass hypnosis. This book gives you a blend of spiritual insight and plain information to prepare your own ideas.

Bravo................

This guy once claimed to be the son of God and predicted the end of the world within a year. When that failed to occur (years ago) and he suffered international ridicule, he then had an epiphany that a world wide conspiracy must be responsible for his overnight decline and all the rest of the world's problems. And you "believers" want to suggest that if we dare to question his sanity it must be "we" that are the truly brainwashed? With critical thinking skills like that running around it won't take a conspiracy of illuminati to destroy society.
Oops. Apparently I've failed to buy in to the only man on earth with the true vision. I must be a controlled sheep, or worse yet, one of the conspirators. You must immediately disregard anything I've said, otherwise DAVID might ridicule you. Such a hustle. Hat's off to ya, Davey.

It is neither metaphysical nor mythological. It is real.
Evidently minor exagerations appear here and there, but generally, the core of the book is substantiated.
Provocative, nevetheless inquisitive and gigantic in the amount of references, information quality, and those possibilities that drive your mind out of this world. Read it.

THE definitive conspiracy guide
Helpful Votes: 3 out of 3 total.
Review Date: 2008-05-12
Each of Icke's other books focus in on aspects of the conspiracy, while still giving the reader an overview of the rest. This work does not drill down into any particular part of the whole. I get the sense that Icke actively set out to write this book for someone coming to this information for the first time, placing all the facets of a complex story nicely into perspective, while maintaining a balance of detail and not getting carried away at any point. Extremely well written as usual, and right on the mark as a starting point for you on this unbelievable story of what's happening to the human race right now, or for giving to someone to help break the spell! ;-) Peace.

My oldest son used the Summer Bridges books between kindergarten and 1st grade. Completing only one or two activities a day helped keep him sharp on new skills he had learned in kindergarten and prepared him for the next level. We enjoyed them so much we ordered 1st to 2nd grade for this summer and also for his younger brother pre-K to K. What I like most about the pre-K to K is the simplicity of exercises. Simply exercising dexterity is so important for rooting good writing ability. My son is only 4 and will be completing one more year of preschool before attending kindergarten, but he is already practicing tracing lines and letters. Also...we order all three available books for my oldest son..Math, Reading, and Activities. The pages are bright and interesting. All activities should take 10 minutes or less. They are simple review mapped out for moms and dads. Also in each book there are summer reading lists which are book titles appropriate for age and reading level. The children can then, after reading the book, score it according to how well they liked it. Excellent, excellent product. These books will be used in our home every summer!!!

This book is not teaching my son anything new but he enjoys it. The book is what it says a review of what they did the year before. I like it because its not difficult for him and he can breeze right through. He does enough work so he doesn't forget what he's learned and each day is very short so I don't lose his attention. The incentive contracts is a great motivation system.

My son received this when he was almost 4, and understood the concepts of solid, liquid, and gases by 4.5yo! This describes the concepts in such a way that youngsters can easily understand, but won't bore older children. I would highly recommend this book, along with other books in the "Let's-Read-And-Find-Out Science" series.

I have a 6-yr old boy and a 7-yr old girl. It's very rare to find anything that they agree on but with What Is the World Made Of? I was able to find a book that both of them would enjoy and learn from at the same time. The easy-to-follow language made it easy for them both to follow along. The fun pictures and odd bits of humor kept them interested and wanting to know more. A fantastic find & one I hope to be able to use for quite some time.

Why are the simple things so hard to do? As I look back at my past decisions when dealing with people I laugh because I noticed how many situations I could have approached differently. How to Win Friends & Influence People is a must read for everyone and should be taught to kids when they are young so when they get older they'll be able to deal with people in a more civilized and respectful manner.

I read this book decades ago and it changed my life. It's unbelievable and every human being should read it. As I was surfing Amazon looking for another book, I happen to notice it and had to write a review. I have to tell everybody how great this book is. I couldn't just not tell everyone. The author is brilliant! This book is so motivational that it truly changed my life and made me a better human being. There's a section in there about a father and a son, that I'll never forget - it really moved me. Every father should read that section.

Everyone should read this book. There is nothing bad that can come from it. The stories contained are interesting and the concepts are completely simple. In fact, nothing taught here was ever mind blowing or surprising. The surprising part was the self reflection it brought and the desire it created in me to want to adapt concepts from this book I previously felt needless. This is the kind of reading I wish I was forced to read growing up and not books about a bunch of stupid kids on an island that go crazy and fight each other.

A must-read

How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie is a must-read for anyone who desires to put the Golden Rule into everyday use. Through numerous stories and examples, Mr. Carnegie shows how we can truly accomplish the impossible---just by putting others' interests before our own. The book bogs down a little if you try to read through it all at once, so I would recommend breaking it up and just reading a chapter or two at a time. Definitely push through to the end--it's very worth it!

Excellent, Timeless Advice

Review Date: 2008-07-10
This book is chock full of practical, common sense advice. Want people to like you? Show you like THEM, smile, be honestly happy to see them, remember their names, be interested in them, listen to them, etc. Want to influence them? Don't argue or tell them they are wrong (even if they are), but honestly emphasize where they are right, compliment them, and start with your areas of agreement. Want to be a leader? Ecourage people, praise them, listen to them, ask them questions. Of course, the examples in this book require us to apply honesty and common sense, and if so, this book is quite helpful. Sadly, too many of us fail to heed the advice in these pages. We can all do better, and this book can help us do so.

My daughter always enjoys books made by "DK" because the pictures are real & have vivid colors. I feel she gets a better concept & more encouragement to use the potty when she sees the vivid pictures.
It has great step by step explanations, its simply & the illustrations are colorful enough to keep her engaged. She loves the star stickers with the book also. A nice addition would have been a potty chart to go with it but overall its a great book.

A light in the attic is a great book just like Shel's other books. I have so much fun reading it to my children. This is a wonderful collection of poetry for children. This is the perfect example of what children's books should be... fun.
Another must have book for any fan of Shel Silverstein is Boetry by Beau Beaudoin. His books are often compared to Shel, Dr. Seuss and Tim Burton. What my kids love about his illustrations are they are in color.

with detail. But it has fascinated my kids from 5-9, yes I've bought the older books as well - the oldest one I think is still a bit much for my 9yo, but she likes the middle one . . . but they all enjoy this one - it seems to hit just the right notes for interesting information without too much yuck factor for them - and the cute illustrations confirm their ideas that some of this is just a little bit weird when you hear it!!

My not-quite-four (but very verbal) daughter got this book for Christmas, and it immediately became one of her favorites. I am pregnant again now, so she is very interested in all the discussion of pregnancy and birth, and it opened up discussions about what her birth was like and what it will be like when I have this baby. The first few times we read it she just listened wide-eyed and didn't talk much, but now we chat while we read it, and she will periodically come up to me and inform me that the food I am eating will go to the baby through the umbilical cord. I recommend this one highly for any preschooler who is curious and likes to understand how things work.

I got this book for my two boys, ages 10 and 5. They were so interested in it. My 10 year old's best friend was there the night when I started reading it to my 5 year old. At first they were giggling at some at the pictures. But pretty soon I had all three of them on the couch with me just soaking up information. They even asked some questions, and said they learned some things they didn't realize. It's very simple, and to the point, without going into great detail. The pictures are cartoons, but very realistic. It's a great book to start out with, because it doesn't get bogged down with details that are too complicated for children this age. I plan on getting the next two books for my older son.

It's Not for 4 year olds.

While I recommend this book for pre-puberty kids with their parents guidance, I do not think it is appropriate for 4 years olds as the book portrays. I read it and then reviewed it with my 7 year old daughter because she had been asking alot of questions as I am pregnant with our third child. She still said "yuk" or giggled at some of the drawings, which is fine. But there is no way I would read it to my 4 year old son at this time.

So pleased that I picked this one!

When my kids started asking reproduction and anatomy questions, I checked out and read the reviews of every book on the subject I could find. I'm an RN, so it was important to me that it was accurate as well as engaging for my kids. I am so glad I picked this one. My children were 4 and 6 when we bought this book, and they absolutely loved it from the first reading. So did I. It has all the information I was hoping for and it is presented so appropriately for the age. Nothing is scary or more detailed than necessary. The illustrations are bright and fun and keep the kids engaged. The book is set up in such a way that is easy to navigate - that is, you can read it from beginning to end, and it flows appropriately - starting with body parts and boy/girl differences, reproduction in the middle, and a small section at the end about good and bad touches. You can also easily jump to the section that you or your child prefers without taking away from the book. For example, my daughter is fascinated by the cartoon showing the sperm swimming to the egg and we often just start there.

As a parent of young children and as an RN, I recommend this book to all parents

The Eclectic Socks has 14 very interesting and well described sock patterns, some of which are rather excentric in approach. Although there are so many sock books on the market, that sometimes one wonders if another one is really needed, I can highly recommend this book. Janel Laidman has - like Cat Bordhi - a refreshingly unconventional view on socks and enough confidence in her readers to share every piece of information with them. I was not disappointed.

Ok. I'm in love with an inanimate object. This book is great. The patterns are clear. They are both written out AND charted, depending on what you like. And the patterns... .. They are engaging, attractive and have different levels of challenge.

Something else I love about this book ----->
Did you ever wonder what a symbol means in the chart? Seriously, who doesn't at one time or another? In the back in the "Chart Key And Techniques" section, not only are there very good pictures of how to do one thing or another, the chart symbols are right next to the pictures of the techniques. Very easy to follow. I'm all about being able to understand something. Trust me on this one.

love, Love, LOVE this book. The patterns are interesting, and beautiful. I can't wait to do Rivendale and Biological clock socks. Any socks that are inspired by the Lord of the Rings books, and a DNA helix are going to appeal to me. The weakest pattern in the book, for me was the monterey socks. I'm not going to do that, and they just look weird. But, that's the only pattern in the book that I really disliked. As expensive as this book is, I expected it to be a bit larger, but the number of patterns I'm likely to do, still make it a good value for the money spent.
