I just got this book and read it with my 2 step children who are 6 and 11 years old. We all really enjoyed this book and had great discussions throughout. The questions at the end are great too! All around, it's a great interactive book for you and any child with great lessons. I would highly recommend this book to any teacher or parent. Illustrations are GREAT too!

If you're willing to ignore the grammatical error, the title of the book is great. Sadly, the content falls short. Some pages make excellent points about being satisfied with what you have and the importance of ALL jobs in our society. Unfortunately, those concepts are completely blown out of the water with point #4: "You have the Power to Get What You Want". The author encourages kids to dream about anything they could possibly desire and that all they have to do is "believe" that they will have them and they will. He actually uses the phrase "wealth and riches of every kind". The corresponding illustration is a girl putting up pictures of a car, big house, horse, and a purse among other "high-ticket" items. Not exactly the values we were hoping to impart.

Not sure why people have taged this as "religious". I don't believe that any mainstream religion supports this type of thinking or greed.

This book is a God send. My sons, 9 and 7 1/2, were so engaged in the life lessons this book offers. The illustrations are great conversation pieces. Dr. Wayne Dyer's books ( all three) are an excellent aid for a parent who wants to introduce spiritual well being to young children.
This book would also make a great read aloud for students.

I enjoyed this book's well-rounded approach informing children about money: simple, to the point, with an empowering/humanistic/spiritual touch, helping remove issues of status from monetary "wealth" while still emphasizing the need to handle money properly. An easy 5 stars.

I have a preschooler with fine motor delays and he HATES to do anything which requires use of his hands. I was told by his teachers that this will lead to issues in school when he is expected to write and participate in art projects. If he can't write, it will affect his academic future.

Therapy provided only so much help, as he was frustrated with the tasks. But then I learned about Kumon's excellent reputation for learning through their local tutoring center - I purchased all of the workbooks.

Because of my childs delays, this book was actually the most difficult for him. He doesn't understand how to fold paper in an orderly way. What helped was the folding lines he could see on the illustrations. He truly tried to fold it correctly so he could "see the boy cry, and then see him happy". It's a simple concept, but it's meant to develop skills while keeping the child interested.

If it's not fun or interesting to a child, they won't want to do it. Folding paper for a young child helps to develop fine motor skills, that will help them in all areas when they begin to write, button, zip etc.

My child is getting a lot of exposure to fine motor tasks with these workbooks, but is still having fun with them.

As a homeschooling mom of a preschooler and first grader, I am always looking for things that are appropriate for a wide variety of age levels. The Complete Funprint Drawing Book is perfect for homeschool art! The directions are simple enough for my just-turned-four year old to follow, but the endless variety of things to make is interesting enough for my six (and a half) year old. I am looking into more Ed Emberly books to add to our homeschool art resource collection.

A unique and enjoyable maze book. My daughter is 5 and a maze freak and she really likes just looking through the maze books to see which maze she wants to tackle for the day and this book has a lot of choices and a variation in difficulty. I put stars at the top of the pages for the mazes she is allowed to do. I would recomend this book to a child over the Preschool age unless they are very talented with details. A first grader would probably love the book.

My son LOVES mazes and is very good at them. This box has a mix of difficulty levels, but several of them are quite hard. Those, of course, are the ones my 6-year-old wanted to do first. I would recommend this book to older children (at least finished first grade). I wish the publisher would have put age recommendations. I managed to put the book up and will get it out again next year. More color would have helped make the book agreeable for more ages as well, not only making it more attractive, but making following the maze passages easier.

Small Guinea Owner Must Have

It all started with ducks, actually. Or maybe bugs. I hate June bugs all over my vegetable garden, and I'm not overly fond of other bugs, either. A place near where I work has all kinds of ducks wandering around, and I thought I'd borrow one to eat the June bugs. Then I remembered guineas. When I threw the idea out there, I thought my boyfriend would just ignore it, but he seemed interested, too. I started doing some research on the web and found Gardening with Guineas. We read through it, and picked through it, and now we have guineas. My boyfriend is not much of a reader, but he read Gardening with Guineas. It helped us decide that we could raise them. It is full of information on how to house them, how to train them, and how to take care of them. If you want guineas on a small scale, don't even get any birds until you read this book.

I had tried raising guineas for several years without success. After reading this book, I have discovered many of my mistakes. No longer will I lose guineas to frostbite or overnight predators. I will provide proper housing and feed as well. I wish I would have read this book much earlier and spared the lives of many guineas. I love guinea fowl and feel better going into the new season with this book in hand!

At Shady Hollow Gamebirds we produce over 3,000 guineas on our farm annually. We are leading the field with Guinea Fowl genetics and have over 60 varieties. Our farm got to this point by starting with a few keets and Gardening With Guineas. This story and guide leads beginners and experienced owners through rearing and keeping Guinea Fowl. With every guinea order from our hatchery we strongly recommend getting a copy of Gardening With Guineas. There is practical, conventional, scientific and modern information on all aspects of feeding, breeding, raising and housing guineas. This guide is a must for those who have or would like to have Guinea Fowl.

Here Guinea, Guinea, Guinea! I'm ready!

Gardening with Guineas is all about raising Guinea fowl on a small scale. The author, Ms. Jeanette S. Ferguson covers most everything on about raising Guinea fowl from A-Z. She covers the complete life span from egg to adult. She also covers Guinea incubation, feeding requirements, housing, training and any common problems you might have. After reading this book you will have knowledge on how to raise Guinea fowl, what you will need to have before you purchase, how to raise keets and how to get your Guineas to come back to roost in a coop every night.

I think the author did a good job in describing the various differences between raising guineas and chickens. There is also a rough coop & run drawing to give you some idea of a combined Guinea/chicken coop.

The only thing here that could be a bit misleading here is the title of the book. It's not actually about gardening, per say. Tho, the author does talk about using the Guineas to eat bugs & snakes that are garden pests.

Overall, this is a book I'd purchase again and recommend. It's one of the only books I've found on exclusively small scale Guinea fowl. I feel that an novice would be able to raise Guineas after reading this book. Ms. Ferguson really does know her Guineas! She describes their personalities, as well as their physical needs, which I found interesting and very helpful.

Well worth a read!

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/RMELR6MRUXC1G If you are a visual learner you may not enjoy Pimsleur as much as I did. A visual learner may want to try Rosetta Stone V3: Spanish (Latin America), Level 1, 2 & 3. I have found a course here at Amazon.com that is actually better than Rosetta Stone Spanish for the visual learner: "Visual Link Spanish - Level I" - You can find it here at Amazon by doing a search for "Visual Link Spanish - Level I" under the category of software.

Visual Link Spanish is better at helping you learn how to form your own sentences using images. Kids will also probably prefer Visual Link Spanish over other visual methods of learning Spanish including Rosetta Stone Spanish.

Unfortunately, Visual Link Spanish only has one level so it will not take you to an advanced level of Spanish. I am still finding that Learning Spanish Like Crazy: Spoken Spanish, Vol. 1 (2 volume set) is the best course for anyone who wants to reach a true level of fluency in Spanish and it also the best for anyone who wants to speak the same Spanish that speakers from Latin America use in typical everyday situations (i.e. conversational Spanish).

Despite the fact that the entire Pimsleur series is still rather basic, I still feel that Pimsleur is the best for learning the kind of Spanish that you would use in formal situations, particularly in Spain.

Exactly what I was looking for! I drive to work, roughly 45 minutes each way, and always wanted this time not to be wasted. The length of lessons fits right-in with some 5 minutes to spare in case of an interrupting phone call. The course assume absolutely no off-time studying and no usage of printed material whatsoever. Additionally, being alone in a car, I am the most comfortable about pronouncing sentences aloud, compared to being in a real class (this I remember from my years at University) or at home with my family around (as of now, this would be the only other option).

The pauses after English prompts are just right. On rare occasions when I get destructed and miss a moment to try my Spanish guess, there is always time to repeat the Spanish after the recorded voice before the next English prompt comes in. New words and expressions are naturally mixed in with repeated ones from previous lessons, making ideal byte sizes of new material in every next lesson while keeping you from forgetting what's learned before.

There are 16 lessons in total. Of course, you can not stuck it all in your head in 16 sessions. If I feel that I miss more than 10% of prompts, I jump couple of lessons back. I had to jump to 4 after the first series of 1 to 6, then back to 6 after getting to 8 for the first time and so on. I went over number 12 today and feel confident about moving on to 13.

I was reading the reviews before choosing this course, and one of those complained about this being Latin American Spanish rather than European Spanish. For me this is an advantage: my goal is to be able to communicate with locals and personal during our vacations to places like Mexico or Dominican Republic. I was surprised with how perfectly the program fits the goal. Dialogs concentrate on general courtesy, saying basic things about yourself, finding your way around, social eating and drinking, buying thins, timing, counting... It feels like the material was compiled with somebody exactly like me in mind: the phrase "One beer, please" is introduced as early as Lesson 5, if I remember correctly. I am looking forward to impressing my wife and kids during our next trip.

While the Pimsleur method remains solid, this series accentuates the product's weaknesses. It's very, very basic, so if you know any Spanish you'll be frustrated. It also encourages you to call Spanish by its Castillian name, but avoids Castillian pronunciations (so what's the point? And won't most American customers be going to Mexico, where they don't speak with a Castillian accent?) Moreover, it has the usual assortment of bizarro conversations and statements (I have a lot of pesos at the hotel), including endless practice of saying "I am a Mexican, Ecuadorian" etc. 1. I'm never going to say this. 2. I get the general idea after a few repetitions. The strong suit of Pimsleur is that you learn what you learn very well, with excellent pronunciation. The weak suit is that you don't build a lot of useful vocabulary. I can now say, with near perfect pronunciation, "I speak a little (Mandarin, German, Spanish), but I don't speak it well." But I can't have much of a conversation in any of these languages beyond that.

The other books in the series by this author are really cute, but this one lacks. Seems like it was rushed through the editor and sent out to market. There isn't enough explaination on each page of what is a no no or a yes yes. Like the yummy yucky book, says "mommy's cookies are yummy, but mommy's coffee is yucky." It needs a little more of that. Cute illustrations as usual though.

This adorable and funny board book could be called baby's first Emily Post guide! It's not to be missed.

Moms, Aunties and Big Cousins of every age will probably die laughing "discussing" the "No No's" followed by an equally charming "Yes Yes." There's hilarous illustrations of food spilling, wall-writing, nose-picking, tail-pulling, hair-cutting, paper-ripping and more followed directly after by the correct mode of behavior as contrast!

I give this book five big Yes! stars!

My 14 month old loves this book. She does all of the things the baby in the book does (minus the scissors, but she would of she could). She looks at the pictures on the no no and then the yes yes page with a very studious expression. I can only imagine what she is thinking!
The illustrations are great for pointing, labeling, and discussing.
The book is obviously geared towards toddlers, but its simplicity lends itself well to teaching preschool children, especially children with special needs, social expectations.

All of Leslie Patricelli's board books are primers on how to behave. Call them required reading for "Toddler 101." No No Yes Yes is no exception.

The baby that appears on every page has a big happy face, a single curl and wears only a diaper. It doesn't matter if it's a boy or a girl. On each page the baby is doing an activity. On the left side it's a No, No activity like eating dog food or putting toys in the toilet, on the right side it's a corresponding Yes, Yes activity like eating a banana or using the potty for its intended use. It's a very clear message to young kids on what to do and what not to do.

Kids and parents alike will enjoy the humor. The cat's face and RROWR above its head when baby pulls its tail are perfect. On the page where baby marks on the walls, notice the sleeping dog also has purple and red marks on his fur, and baby's belly has a purple mark, too.

With painted acrylic artwork, bold black outlines and colorful backgrounds, the simple presentation is perfect for its audience.

The other board books in the Patricelli canon are Baby Happy Baby Sad, Big Little, Binky, Blankie, Dummy, Quiet Loud and Yummy Yucky.
