I have been reading romance novels since I was 15, so a good 20 years now. In my mind nothing like a cup of tea and a good romance novel to escape and unwind at the end of a day.
Just to give a sample of my taste, other authors I enjoy are: Jen Holling, Connie Brockway, Johanna Lindsey, Julie Garwood, Christina Dodd, just to name a few.

This entire series is such a page turner. I had a hard time putting any of the titles down. More evenings than I care to admit I stayed up way to late "just to read one more chapter".

I loved Bowen from A hunger like no other and was thrilled to see him getting a book of his own. Wow what a twist in this one. I was on the edge of my seat. I loved the supporting demons and was glad to see that Cade got his own story as well. Love him!

The entire series is fast and there is not a lot of review of what happened in a prior book. You open the book and off you go. These are not slow moving. I laughed, I cried, I blushed. Boy Ms. Cole writes some steamy scenes. Wow! And I am amazed that nothing repeats. Each book is so different, the plots are so different and the way the main characters relate is so different. Yes they do all have hansom men and lovely ladies. But the dynamic relationship between the main characters is simply fire from page 1 to the end. Out of all my years reading romance. I have never read modern romance before. I can say without a doubt that these are the best romance books I have read and that is truly saying a lot considering how many authors works sit on my shelf.

This is my favorite book in the Immortals After Dark series by Kresley Cole. I just really love the Lykaes that Kresley writes about, they are so likeable. Mari, the heroin was so cool! Talk about some great love scenes too, mmmm mmmm good! This was Kresley's last really great book in the series. Dark Needs at Nights Edge and Desires After Dusk were just ok. I think she is cranking out to many books now and isn't able to take the care with her writings. I don't like the new covers either.

Okay, this is my 3rd read in the Immortals after Dark Series. LOVED LOVED LOVED the first book, the 2nd "ech" not so much. Bowen and Mari's story brought the series back to life for me. In the second book I had no interest in the "amazing race" parrallel, skipped over a lot of those pages, however in this 3rd installment the race came to life for me because of Bowen and Mari and also the comraderie shared between Mari's 6 protectors whilst on their amazing journey. There were so many twists and turns and treats in this book, the fate of Mari's parents, Mariah and her story, and the return of beloved characters.

Yes there were a few slow points but they didn't last long and the wait was rewarded. I am starting on the 4th book at the gym this evening. Its about one of the other vampire brothers of the horde.

I must confess though that I do like the Lykae men a lot more than the Vampire men.THEY CAN CHASE ME ANYTIME THEY WANT TO!

Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night is Bowen and Mariketa's story and partly takes place at the same time as No Rest for the Wicked during the Talisman's Hie, so I think it would be helpful if you're familiar with that book before starting this one. Bowen if you remember was after the prize so he could go back in time and save his mate. During the Hie he trapped Mariketa and several other supernaturals. Unfortunately this has upset (to put it mildly) their supernatural races and is threatening to start a major interspecies incident. So it falls to Bowen to go and rescue Mariketa. But that's just the beginning.

The glue that holds this whole story together is Bowen and Mariketa's relationship. There's quite a bit of other external stuff going on - The Talisman's Hie, interfering Valkyries, lots more intriguing hints dropped about other characters - mainly the proper introduction of Rydstrom and Cade and who exactly is stalking Regin?

Their relationship basically starts off as a confrontation and though they have a chemistry between them Bowen is far too caught up in the need to win the Hie and save his mate. So he betrays Mariketa and traps her to prevent her continuing with the Hie. Not the best way to start a courtship. It's only after he goes back to rescue her and they have to work together to escape the jungle that the spark between them becomes something more. But the course of their love isn't going to run smoothly, just when it seems everything has come into place for them the past rises up to bite Bowen and he has to decide who and what he really wants.

I like Bowen (more than Mariketa). He's one of those characters who doesn't really have a filter between his brain and his mouth. Maybe this is a Lykae trait as I seem to remember Lachlain from A Hunger Like No Other being similar. When he feels it is deeply and completely. He never gives up.

Mariketa is young and in some ways immature. She lies to Bowen about how often she's using her powers even though it's dangerous for her to do so. Some of her behaviour is understandable. He wants her to contain an essential part of herself - akin to her asking him to give up his animal instinct. But sometimes in romances you feel like shouting at the protagonists - just talk to one another! Yet despite all the confrontations in their relationship there's also something warm and fuzzy about it.

For me Kresley Cole has improved with every book in this series, certain scenes she writes so well. She puts you through the wringer, then just when you think the characters have finally got it together she takes it away from you, and makes the protagonists work even harder for their happy ending. And she never lets her protagonists say I love you before time. Even though there are confusions, eventually her characters talk to one another and when they finally open up it feels real and it works.

This is one of my favourite series. Recommended.

I was so excited when Fern Michaels decided to stay on with the sister hood series. I have read eveyone of them, they are so hard to put down. Hide amd seek, was excellant, I am now reading Hokus Pokus. Those girls and Charles are really smart. Horray for them. I cannot wait for Fast Track to be on the market, I have already preorderd it. Thanks Fern Michaels, for the Sisterhood series. I will be sorry to see them go.

Fern Michaels always keeps the reader interested but this is not her best to date. I like her plots and the characters' development but she falls short on the endings lately. I think it would be better if we learned what she did to the objects of their revenge in the last chapter, rather than a side note in the Epilogue. I think she rushes to finish the book and leaves us wanting more details at the end. But I still enjoyed the book, despite the weak ending. I'll continue to follow the Sisterhood as long as Ms. Michaels writes about them.

The Sisterhood is a series that fascinates the reader for its outrageous adventure. Judge Easter is in trouble, her career could be destroyed. Her friends return stateside to take on a power driven candidate for the head of the FBI.
When the Sisterhood hit DC to unexpected is the norm and our delight in their cause is the best in reading entertainment.
Along the way they recruit more members to their cause of justice outside the force of law. Great light summer reading when the basic element of fiction is to suspend belief.

This series still hasn't grown stale for me. Actually, this book really moves things along and reveals some important info. This time Sookie Stackhouse has a new boyfriend, finds out a heartbreaking secret about her past love, discovers some surprising facts about her bloodline and heads to New Orleans to go through her dead cousin's things. She finds a new witch friend and winds up embroiled in a big political vampire mess all the while trying her best to push her heartache aside. The characterization, as always, is well done and kept me anxiously turning the pages.

If you haven't picked up the Sookie Stackhouse series - do it now! :) These books are great - entertaining and smart, and they flow very easily from one to the next, leaving you wanting more.

If you like these, you will love the Harper Connelly series, and I recently started the Aurora Teagarden and Lily Bard sets, and am enjoying those as well. I can't believe I just "found" Charlaine Harris this year! :)

If you haven't read Charlaine's other books, they are wonderful reads too.

What a delightful read! Marietta Winters is forced to enlist the help of a mysterious man known as Gabriel Noble (a fitting name in more ways than one) to save her brother from hanging for a murder he didn't commit. As the story unfolds, we find out these two characters are connected in ways they could never have imagined. Gabriel has the requisite cynicism and secret that all the lead male characters have in this genre, but the author does a marvelous job of giving his secret a dark, unique twist. And this unique twist adds layers to both Gabriel's character and the underlying mystery itself (who is the murderer)? A wonderful read. Believable, compelling characters, plausible dialog, and a good, multilayered plot. Just really solid writing. I've read other books by this author, and she generally never disappoints.

Three Nights of Sin was a bit slow paced in the beginning but once Gabriel's secret came out it presented a great deal of promise. Unfortunately, it did not live up to that promise.

Gabriel, the hero, had a great deal of potential. He could have been such a wonderful "tortured hero" but the he, and the book, fell flat. Gabriel experienced some horrible events in his youth but when these events were brought up, and when he relived them, what could have been a real emotional moment was ruined by a sex. There was so much random sex and every one of them felt cold and distant. Gabriel responded to his inner turmoil but having sex, which left a dirty feeling while reading the book. I eventually skipped over all of them. They didn't drive the plot at all. I got the impression that the writer just picked a random page and inserted a sex scene.

I was also extremely disappointed in Marietta's reaction to Gabriel's past. Instead of feeling sympathy towards him she believes a virtually mentally disturbed stranger to make her doubt Gabriel's character in a second. Very very disappointed in that.

Needless to say, I was hoping for a more depth in Three Nights of Sin. I felt as if the reader deserved more emotion like a hug or a kind touch, but instead all I got was cold, pointless sex. All of the "love scenes" felt cold and distant and I eventually skipped over all of the sex scenes. They didn't drive the plot at all. I got the impression that the writer just picked a random page and inserted a sex scene.

I also felt as if Gabriel's behavior in response to his youth lessened the seriousness of the issue. If you want to read about a character that experienced similar abuse and affected by it, then I suggest you read "The Devil You Know" by Liz Carlyle.

Over all I felt as if Three Nights of Sin was an acceptable book. It was slow in the beginning and felt a bit rushed in the end but it was okay enough to grant it three stars. It's easily forgettable but may be worth the read on long trips.

Three Nights of Sin

Three nights of danger...
When her brother was arrested for murder, the ton shut its doors to Marietta Winters. No one would help her save him from the gallows - no one but Gabriel Noble. In exchange for taking the case, Gabriel requests three favors from the desperate young beauty, and Marietta has no other choice but to make a deal with the sinfully handsome devil.

Three nights of pleasure...
Searching for clues in the rough underbelly of London, Marietta must masquerade asa shamelessly wanton wench - much to Gabriel's delight. But Marietta swears to herself that her passionate moans are just for show. She could never fall in love with such a maddening, arrogant, seductive stranger...could she?

Three nights of sin...
Night after night, she satisfies his wicked cravings. But soon Gabriel wants more from Marietta than just three nights of sin - and even a sordid secret in his past won't prevent him from trying to possess her forever.

Gabriel Noble...
I immediately fell in love with the gorgeous Gabriel Noble. This hero is not the usual "stud." He is strong, commanding, seductive yet underneath is a vulnerability, we don't often see with heroes. Gabriel's character evolves, taking me through a journey of emotions.

Marrieta Winters...
Her desperation to save her brother endears her to me. She's not your typical heroine either. Marietta may not be a raving beauty but she's all fire and ice. Just like Gabriel, her character goes through changes. The challenges Marietta face, only made her stronger.

Romance...
The chemistry between Gabriel and Marietta is sizzling. The love scenes are tastefully written, with just enough heat. Unpredictable storyline. Other characters are well written, even the drunken prostitute in the corner.

Three Nights of Sin is what so many romance novels try to be and usually end up failing. I have to say I read it in one sitting and was sorry to come to the end. Gabriel and Marietta were two of the most well written and fleshed out main leads I have read in a long time. I enjoyed them immensely and their story was excellent. It had the romance(their scenes together were fairly combustible)--and it was one of the best mysteries I have read in a long time. So many romances add a dash of suspense and you have it figured out in two chapters. This one kept me guessing and it was every bit as good as some of the big time suspense writers are putting out. The story was very dark, but the way Gabriel turned it around and made himself a better man was a delight to read. I absolutely loved him!! He has hopped right to the top of my favorite male heroes--right there with Christopher Seeton and Trevor Sheridan. I could find no fault with Gabriel and his counterpart, Marietta, was equally as likable and well written. She had spunk and intelligence. I liked the way she realized she had to save herself so therefore, she sought out Gabriel Noble. Wise choice. The secondary characters were great. I am looking forward to Jeremy's story and Kenny's as well, now that it appears that Gabriel has instilled a backbone in him.
The back story is dark and seedy and the people responsible for it are truly reprehensible. This book does not have sex on every page. I believe that was the complaint of another reviewer. But, the tension between Marietta and Gabriel was smoldering from the getgo. If you are a good writer you don't need to fill your pages with sex. I have read, or started to read--usually didn't finish them, books that were all sex and no story. They are immensely forgettable. Three Nights of Sin is one I will keep and revisit later. There was a good story here and Anne Mallory told it very well. I am glad I looked past the cover of this book and delved deeper. I was very rewarded.

I was not sure I would like this book. The heroine, Marietta Winters, for the first few chapters is angry, and prickly as a cactus with the hero. A hero by the way, I loved, loved, loved right from the beginning. By the end of this novel, I liked the heroine, still loved the hero and can recommend this novel.

Marietta Winters hires hero, Gabriel Noble, to assist her in freeing her eighteen year old brother from prison. Authorities are charging her brother with several murders. The Winters family, although aristocratic, is poor and Marietta is the leader even though she has an older brother, but he is gamester and all about keeping up appearances.

Gabriel Noble is a mystery himself. He is incredibly handsome, not born to the manner, but sophisticated and polished. He is like a 19th century Magnum PI. He takes cases. Usually for a large sum or if the client does not have the funds, then they owe him thee favors which he can collect after he finishes the case.

Marietta considered on the shelf and somewhat plain, despises Gabriel on sight mostly because he has summed up her lazy pretentious family. He takes the case with the condition the Marietta assist him completely in the investigation. She does so even going so far as moving in with him and going undercover. She transforms with the costumes and parts into a softer woman. The author did a great job of transforming her by letting this happen half way through the novel instead of making the reader endure Marietta's entirely too sharp tongue and dislike of the hero for too long.

Gabriel has a history that is absolutely dark and well awful. He is tight lipped about it, wears masks to cover his feelings but Marietta suspects that there is a well of hurt and mistrust behind the façade.

As Gabriel and Marietta work on her brother's case, Gabriel's former life comes back to haunt him. Also both the characters are so use to being in control that their battle for it reveals their vulnerabilities. Finally the lovemaking here reflects their desire for not only control but also for intimacy and acceptance. Oh, and the mystery wasn't bad either.

The sparks between Neomi Laress and Conrad are just fantastic from the beginning. I could not find out fast enough how on earth these two could be together.

I enjoyed the glimpse of supporting characters so you felt that any of them would be enjoyable to read about in their own series. I love Kresley Cole and couldn't wait for this book to come out. I was pretty disappointed. It seemed very slow. I loved Neomi but I really wasn't too crazy about Conrad. Maybe I just like Lykaes better that tortured vamps? Sadly her next book Dark Desires After Dusk was just as meh. I could take it or leave it. To many books are being written, I wish Kresley would slow down and take her time. Her next one is out Jan of 2009, lets hope it's better. Kiss of a Demon King.

The worst part of reading a book by Kresley Cole is the intense high and then intense low when it's done. I finished this book in 6 hours and threatened my husband and son with no dinner if they did not leave me alone in my cone of silence. Kresley has quickly become my drug of choice.

Once again she has nailed it. I was afraid that the story line would be hard to wrap my head around. But the relationship between Conrad and Neomi was intriguing, enthralling, very sweet and more of what we love about Kresley Cole.

Neomi and Conrad certainly had all of the tools to NOT make a life together. He's mad from drinking the memories of all his "kills" and being on the run for 300 years and she's a ghost with no bodily form. The quintessential if a bird and a fish loved each other, where would they make their home. But the duo find sweet ways to connect and learn to appreciate each other and what they both bring to the table and along with the other characters we have all come to love the relationship works out for the best. The style of writing, the intimacy, the total alpha male descriptives one he "Blooded"... Whew.

I look forward to Cadeon's book and will stare at if for a few more months before I dive in because I know Kresley Coles next release is not until 2009.

I'm surprised by how much I like this book. I'm not really a fan of the immortals after dark series; I read one and liked it, read another and got bored with it. But this one... I loved it! And I'm strict with my 5 stars.

Conrad was such a unique character. He was one of those rare mentally flawed characters that kept me interested. He's a lost vampire and literally quite crazy and very violent. After centuries of drinking the blood of so many his head is full of their memories. He can no longer tell his thoughts from those of his victims and it's driving him to the brink of insanity. He aches to kill and torture and he was always willing to fight. His internal dialog was surprising and the author made me feel as if he really was crazy.

His brothers capture lock him in a manor for a type of "vampire detox" to help him get his mind back and to get to stop taking blood from the vein. There, Conrad meets Neomi, a ghost that was killed in the 1920's who 'haunts' the manor.

I was a little iffy on the lead female being a ghost but I thought it was perfect for the plot. No matter how crazy or domineering Conrad became he couldn't, as Neomi put it, sling her over his shoulder and force her to do his bidding. This was great in teaching Conrad patience. I did, however, think the way she was made corporeal was a little cheap but...hey..she was ghost! The author did a great job.

I thought the two were great together. I was very pleased that Conrad didn't have a miraculous recovery overnight and that mentions of his struggles were throughout the book. I thought his progress was quite believable.

The main focus of the book was Conrad and Neomi helping to heal his damaged mind. I was glad that the villains of the book didn't steal from their wonderful moments. There was also a very surprising moment concerning Conrad's dealings with other women. Unlike other books I've read with similar heroes, I found Conrad's situation to be very believable. I loved those scenes.

I very strongly recommend this book and I don't think it's really necessary to read the other books in the series. Some of the secondary characters were a bit annoying anyway.

I really got a feel for Conrad and he has become one of my favorite characters. This book was great.

Loooooved IT!!!

I soared through this book. It was absolutely fabulous! The characters are unique, intriguing and oh so HOT. Conrad is one of the four Wroth brothers that we've heard about in previous novels. It had been a while since I've read one of the other three books in this series so I had to back track and read a few reviews before reading this one to remember the storyline. Although, to be honest, Cole did a great job of reminding the reader without it sounding redudent. Nikolai and Murdoch were the oldest and upon finding their four sisters dead and two younger brothers almost dead, they did the unthinkable and turned their brothers into vampires. Sebastian was not happy but eventually became okay with it since it led him to his Bride. Conrad took the whole vampire thing really hard because little did his brother's know becoming a vampire went against an extremely important vow Conrad took when he was young. Now adays he's simply going insane from all the blood kills he's made and his brothers have got it into his head they are going to save or die trying. I loved how Cole started off with affection between the two instead of just throwing them together and saying it's love. They fell in love with each other way before they even realized she was his Bride. It was really sweet!

The kidnapping and ghost "thing" is a wonderful storyline. The whole Valkyrie "thing" is a laugh riot--Nix especially. I can't wait to read the next in series.

I found this work to be remarkable in it's approach and insights. The approach is very realistic as it explores the five keys to mindful loving. It begins with our childhood, takes through our search for a partner, and guides us with the struggles that occcur on our journey of love. The book provides a wealth of exercises and discussion points for couples.
The author does an amazing job of helping us see our formative years and the influence that our childhood experiences have on our search for love. This is followed by a guided search for love. He takes us through the struggles of romance, fear, conflict, and ego and offers valuable insights into relationships. Richo draws on an eastern concept of mindfulness as he explores each of the five hallmarks. A must read for anyone who is relationship oriented.

EXACTLY what I was looking for

As a psychologist, I KNEW the influence my childhood had had on my relationship choices - the men I chose to be with and the things I chose to do once in the relationship itself. After a final disaster, I had vowed to just be a happy single - and then I found a relationship that is so precious and spiritual that I wanted to do whatever I could to not just preserve it, but nurture it to grow deeper and more powerful.

I went in search of a book that would help me be an adult in my relationship. Almost laughingly, I sought something that would combine my Catholic faith, the tenets of Buddhism that I use in practice and my personal life, and the Jungian philosophies my partner and I both embrace and discuss endlessly. Never, in a thousand years, I thought, would I find a book that would fit all of those bills.

I was delighted to find that in David Richo's book, I found it all. And not just explanations - those I had in abundance - but practical ideas for how to move through and move past old and new hurts, how truly to GIVE in this relationship. My partner and I read from this book at least weekly, and the exercises within help us both think about what we do, why we do it, and how to do it differently.

Dr. Richo's style is positive, normalizing, free of jargon and babble, spiritual, and very, very helpful. THANK YOU, Dr. Richo, for writing this wonderful book. The others are on my shopping list.

I'm echoing some of what others have written, but I think this book was very helpful in my own development from an over-40 single woman to now a very happily married 50-year-old woman. I am also a marriage family therapist and keep this in my office. I have recommended it to some clients, particularly ones struggling with figuring out the boundaries in relationships and between people. I know there's more to just that in the book, but I think this is one of the most helpful aspects that clients have resonated with (and told me about).

I have studied zen buddhism off and on for years and many of the ideas found in that philosophy are encapsulated for a western audience in this book. Although I suggest mindfulness and/or meditation to certain clients, too, sometimes it's easier to read about it in a book like this than to take the leap and just arrive at a meditation center for the first time.

Of course I have some clients who probably wouldn't do well with a book like this and I wouldn't suggest it to them - either they just don't read much or at all, or it would be something to hit their partner over the head with. I once had a client who proclaimed during a couples session that his/her partner just wasn't providing the Five A's and that was why he/she needed to dump them, which was news to the partner! Since then, I've learned to suss out where a client's motivation might lie, because anything "good" can be mis-used and made "bad".

Overall, though, this is a book I definitely recommend and even buy for friends and loved ones. It's one of the best on relationships, for those who can keep the focus on themselves and be honest about their relationships.

A great book and a cut above the usual "self-help" fare

I liked this book so much that I bought a bunch of copies and gave them out to friends. What higher praise can I give than that? It would be a better world if everyone read it and took it to heart.

I saw the reviews that criticized the book for being wordy and over the heads of regular people. Well, I guess people that need something super easy to read have a lot of other books out there that serve them. For me personally, this book gave a higher and more satisfying level of information than was available elsewhere. I found the writing to be quite simple and straightforward, and did not encounter a single word that I didn't know. The ideas that were presented within these simple words, however, were big. I did not encounter the usual frustration that I find with books that are so focused on faddish, simplistic theories that they just aren't helpful. Many books out there seem to frame everything through the lens of some specific trendy disorder, addiction, or whatever, failing to grasp the larger picture. This one is more universal in its appeal. I might have liked it even better if it were a little more challenging, but I see that you can't please everyone.

Best book on growing up I have ever read!

If you just want to get your way, then this book is not for you.

I'm a 62 years old widower looking for a partner to share love with. We are both reading this book and working on our relationship in light of the loving mindfullness perspective. I think it makes all the difference and therefore, have purchased about 10 copies for my kids and friends. Some people may think it redundant and dense but it makes perfect sense if you have been beat up by life and who hasn't. It may not meet all your needs but then, it could open you up to living an abundant joyfull life. Small price big rewards!

Pain need not be a deep dark hole. It can be a tunnel to a richer life. I very highly recommend this book to anyone serious about have an adult relationship.

Very disappointing let me count the ways. At first it was entertaining and witty. But after the first 100 pages I kept waiting for the mystery to snag me. Soon after I figured who the murder was (predictable) and I lost all interest on the motive. When I jumped to read the ending I was glad not to have wasted another minute on this book. I bought it because the book was recommended as being similar to books by Tasha Alexander. I beg to differ!

Not a great read. The characters could be a little flat but the setting and mystery were terrific. Looking forward to the sequel.

This was a good read. It had a lot more substance than your ordinary murder mystery. The author does a good job of developing the characters. The heroine is not as analytical as I would like her to be, but then not everyone is all that analytical!

Now THIS is a good read

This was a thoroughly enjoyable book from start to finish. The characters were captivating and the author used superb descriptions to ease the reader into the time period. I was somewhat skeptical of this author since I was not familiar with her, but am looking forward to reading her again. I took this with me to the beach but this is a book that needs to be taken slowly, like a good cup of tea, so that it can be appreciated even more. If you hope to be kept at the top of your game in solving mysteries, you definitely need to find a quiet spot where you can manifest yourself in Deanna Raybourn.

I have just gotten finish reading Dakota Home today, it was excellent as I have found all of the Debbie Macomber books that I have read. The only thing that I regret is that the third book of this series will not be available for purchase until June, 2008.
I cannot recommend Debbie Macomber's books enough.

I admit, I read the first book yesterday and I posted a review saying a was a little bummed with the ending, then downloaded the second one.

I was VERY happy with the second book overall. Still very funny, more steamy, lots of action and a good ending! I look forward to the next book and the chat that will happen with her mother...

Better than the first

I liked this book more than the first book "Halfway to the Grave" but in this series it makes sense to read the books in order. I don't think the chemestry between Cat and Bones would come across if you skip the first book.

It's four years later and Cat still works for this government agency traking down vampires with her team. Than someone tries to kill her and she accidently runs into Bones at a wedding. She is still not over him and he is also pretty much the only one that can keep her safe from the person who tries to kill her.

I thought this books was a lot darker and even more violent than the first one. Halfway to the Grave had some pretty bloody scenes in it as well but some of the scenes in One Foot in the Grave are straight horror movie material. I also thought that Cat was a lot more aggressive. She got so easily pissed off no matter what anyone said and in some situations I just didn't understand what her deal was

However, I loved how Bones and Cat got on with their relationship I loved that they didn't let anyone get in between them. I also liked that there is a lot more about that whole vampire world and there is also a side plot with a Ghoul involved that I liked. I definitely will read the third book in this series as well but I hope that Jeaniene Frost will involve the side characters a little more (maybe a love story with one of Cat's team members since Bones and Cat are rock solid now).

A great book...

A realistic setting, fast action, believable romance, cool vampires, fascinating characters, a grand plot and lots of gore. A thriller, mixed with a vampire novel mixed with an adult love story. The background information on the characters is so perfectly slipped into the flow of the story that there was no slow down of the action. It was never bland, boring and there was never a cliché. That I noticed. A book so great that I would compare it to the works of Anne Rice and Kim Harrison. Even a sexy cover.
It was so good it took me a few days after finishing it to realize that it was Book 2 in the series. It was THAT good. I've already grabbed the first book and can't wait to read it.
If you plan to buy one vampire novel anytime in the next year, this should be it. Get it. Used, new, from the library, whatever. Just GET it.

Very Good Read!

I didnt read the first book in this series. I probably should have, though, but I didnt. The back cover doesnt do it justice. It gives you a vague sense of whats supposed to happen, but there is alot more to the story than what it actually says. This girl is the Red Reaper...the one and only bogeyman of the undead. Its a great story and I recommend it to anyone interested in this type of genre.

Excellent book!

This was a great read. Cat has grown as a person and has come to accept herself and Bones. I love the direction the book is taking. I liked this ending better than the ending in book one. I'm so glad the truth is revealed in regards to Cat's conception. Can't wait to see what the future holds for Bones and Cat.
