My daughter gets so excited about this book - she pays rapt attention, smiles, and wants us to read it again. This book was given to us as a present when she was born - and we have been reading it, among others, since then. For the past few months, this has been a clear favorite book. She loves that at points in the book we give her a big smooch, she is attracted to the colors and illustrations and big letters that indicate you are supposed to be singing those words loudly. We sing the words to this book to her - we don't straight read them - but we do this with other books, too, and she doesn't get nearly as excited. Simple book...my husband and I have others we like more...but this one wins hands down for the baby, and that's what really matters!
Lacking in plot progression...

This fictional work lacks character development, and just about anything else fine literature is supposed to display. But it has furry animals hugging, kissing, singing, dancing, and doing all other manner of cute things, and my 15 month old loves it. Boynton must me laughing all the way to bank...seriously, she must be worth a mint.
A Lovely Book

This is easily a favorite in our house. we first started reading this to our daughter when she was 9 months old. Since then, she has grown to love it more everyday. She's now 18 months old, and never tires of it. She generally likes all the Boynton books, but this one, she loves.
Here's the gist of the story: a mommy dog is baking cookies with her puppy, and tells him/her a story about how much she loves him. The illustrations are classic Boynton: cute and fun. The rhymes are great. This one isn't as silly as some of her other books, but the sweetness of it makes up for it.
I highly suggest getting the CD that contains the song of "Snuggle Puppy." (I think it's on Philadelphia Chickens...) Once you've learned how the tune goes, you'll love the book even more. And what's even better, is that once you learn the song, you can sing it anywhere. This does wonders for my daughter when she is being uncooperative or grumpy. Whenever I sing her the song, she always smiles, and usually becomes more agreeable.

The worst part about this book is waiting for the next one. I love Cedar Cove. It's like visiting with friends or catching up on family. It is also easy to read when you have a hectic life and can only read in short time spans. I think each book gets better, but I found the whole Russian evil chess player story a little out of place in the series. Don't get me wrong, it didn't slow down my reading.
I love all Debbie Macomber's series and books. But this series is the best and warmest by far. I hope it never ends.

I went into the romance department of the bookstore and picked out this book. This is my first (and probably last) novel by this writer. It just simply wasn't what I was looking for in a summer read. For me, I wasn't really interested in these characters. I didn't find myself wanting to know more and some of the characters were too similar and the women seemed to have confidence issues.

It won't be my last either! At first I had trouble who was who etc. But after awhile I caught on and I couldn't put it down. I loved all the characters and I can't wait to get my hands on all the previous books and the newest one. Debbie writes with such a style that has you begging for more. Maybe it does seem a little too gossipy but I loved it and heck it was enjoyable. Debbie writes so well I didn't notice I just couldn't get enough!! I loved so many of the characters I couldn't even begin to think who was my favorite.
What I like most is she doesn't have to use filthy language and dirty scenes for it to be enjoyable, which is hard in this world today. I am finding it harder and harder to escape these days so I will take it when I can get it! Thanks Ms. Macomber!! Keep on writing! :)

I have read the entire series and will read No. Eight that is coming out as a library book. I won't pay for it because I am not sure it will be great. I loved the books from the beginning especially the first four but the last ones are not nearly as engaging. The seventh one was somewhat silly and unbelievable. A chess master and a beautician? THe premise is rather unlikely and I did not care for her quirky family - rather trashy. I would skip it.

not read the first two books I made a mistake picking this up. I am stopping around pg 100. There are way too many characters in this book and little background for me to go on and truly, none of the characters seem likable - someone who takes a kid from their home without going through proper legal channels, someone pushing another to marry for $, someone with some severe parenting issues, etc. Not my cup of tea.

One Foot in the Grave(Night Huntress Book 2)
It was Bloody Brillant!! ...and I mean that literally!
While the first book was really good, I liked this one even better.
I don't want to give anything away, but I liked the way her past,(Bones) and her new life,(FBI team) came together. I thought it was really cool, especially the end.
It's an excellent book- five stars!
I can't recommend it enough!
(Though you should read Book 1 first, to get to know the characters and better understand what's going on.)

I was VERY happy with the second book overall. Still very funny, more steamy, lots of action and a good ending! I look forward to the next book and the chat that will happen with her mother...

I liked this book more than the first book "Halfway to the Grave" but in this series it makes sense to read the books in order. I don't think the chemestry between Cat and Bones would come across if you skip the first book.
It's four years later and Cat still works for this government agency traking down vampires with her team. Than someone tries to kill her and she accidently runs into Bones at a wedding. She is still not over him and he is also pretty much the only one that can keep her safe from the person who tries to kill her.
I thought this books was a lot darker and even more violent than the first one. Halfway to the Grave had some pretty bloody scenes in it as well but some of the scenes in One Foot in the Grave are straight horror movie material. I also thought that Cat was a lot more aggressive. She got so easily pissed off no matter what anyone said and in some situations I just didn't understand what her deal was
However, I loved how Bones and Cat got on with their relationship I loved that they didn't let anyone get in between them. I also liked that there is a lot more about that whole vampire world and there is also a side plot with a Ghoul involved that I liked. I definitely will read the third book in this series as well but I hope that Jeaniene Frost will involve the side characters a little more (maybe a love story with one of Cat's team members since Bones and Cat are rock solid now).

A realistic setting, fast action, believable romance, cool vampires, fascinating characters, a grand plot and lots of gore. A thriller, mixed with a vampire novel mixed with an adult love story. The background information on the characters is so perfectly slipped into the flow of the story that there was no slow down of the action. It was never bland, boring and there was never a cliché. That I noticed. A book so great that I would compare it to the works of Anne Rice and Kim Harrison. Even a sexy cover.
It was so good it took me a few days after finishing it to realize that it was Book 2 in the series. It was THAT good. I've already grabbed the first book and can't wait to read it.
If you plan to buy one vampire novel anytime in the next year, this should be it. Get it. Used, new, from the library, whatever. Just GET it.

In Somersett, South Carolina, the sniper needed one shot to assassinate Brigadier General John Jacob. Because of the high visibility of an Army field grade officer murdered in the States, the FBI claims terrorist act means their jurisdiction. FBI agent Caitlin Cavanaugh leads the task force that includes state and local law enforcement.
The team quickly concludes they are dealing with a serial killer whose accuracy denotes military precision of a trained sniper. Former Navy SEAL Quinn McKade is added to the investigative team because of his former military experience as a sniper. The killer sends messages to local TV reporter Valentine Snow that insists the list of victims has just begun. As Cait and her team struggle with the motive that would link the killer's targets, she and Quinn are attracted to one another; but first there is a deadly apparently military trained killer on the loose they have to catch.
The latest High Risk romantic suspense is a terrific serial killer police procedural with the tie to FREEFALL being a harrowing incident during the Afghan War. Cait is excellent as a woman who prefers to be in charge while Quinn is used to going solo and not taking field orders. They make a fine coupling, but the strength of this superb thriller is the deep look at the sufferer of post-traumatic stress disorder and those emotionally connected to the disturbed person.

I couldn't put this book down! I loved the characters of Jasha and Ann. Fell head over heels in love with Jasha. What a MAN/WOLF!! I found parts highly erotic to the point where I had to put the book aside to just take a breath.
My heart raced throughout the novel. I loved the repartee between Jasha and Ann and enjoyed the squabbling between the siblings. Especially between Jasha and Rarik.
Dodd outdid herself with these books. I've read other books of hers and so far this one (along with the second in the series) are her best. I've just started reading the third one and I'm looking forward to reading about Arik.

I truly DO adore this author, really, most of her novels are absolutely wonderful. With that said, I must admit to not being too happy with this particular book.
I realized half way through while reading this that I found myself mostly frowning. In addition, I was cringing from the way the heroine was acting towards the hero. Anne, who is painfully shy, a plain Jane, honest to God a virgin ( at 20something!) with a very low self-esteem, who seems to have no life outside of her work and her hero worship of her boss, stalks/chases her hottie boss to his mansion, to seduce him when he's been ignoring her for 3 years. This may be just me, but I hate it when heroines has to change everything about themselves just to get a hero to notice them.
Just the way she was written into this story just made it all seem very ... well, embarrassing. And when the H/H does get together, there wasnt really any spark, chemistry, emotional connection... his love for her seemed too questionable, with his smug-like attitude and the heroine just gushing love for him... it was just a... well, as a woman reading this, I mainly felt pity and embarrassment for the female. So my take as a romance novel it failed, however as a para-fiction it was an OK book. (( what do you expect, CD is a talented author, although her plots may fail at times )).
I do look forward to reading her next book in this series, just hope that the H/H has some chemistry next time. :)

Ooogh! I thought the plot of this book sounded really good, so I gave it a try. Unfortunately the heroine was running on a mix of 95% hormones and maybe 5% brainpower (if that isn't being too kind to her!).
Sorry, but stupid female main characters do not make me want to read further, they just make me want to scream "You Idiot!" I couldn't finish the book.

I have read all three of the series and am secretly waiting for the last one but I would have to say this was my favorite. The wolf was sooo intriguing that it had my hair standing up. The fact that he could smell her mood swings or sense her LOVE for him was beautiful! Ann was just right in my view point. A little withdrawn but came out of her shell when necessary. The story line was good and yes facts did not explode out at you, if you remember their are three more books so your not going to get all the facts in this one. The love scenes in this were crazy and it actually makes you drool over a wolf. Have to say I find wolves majorly attractive after this one...lol. Read and you shall understand the connection. This one is top for me and hoping the last one is just as great

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It kept me entertained and I was able to finally jump for joy at finding a strong, independent woman that didn't weep or swoon over "manly" men. Kerry is a strong individual who can hold her own. The leader of the warriors in this book has a little air time, which is good. The author somehow manages to convey the beginning of "it all" without pulling the story away from everyone else. I can't wait for the next book in this series to come out.

Thousand year old Talion Warrior Ranulf Thorsen is weary of his role of justice dealer for his people the Kith. It is Ranulf's job to execute those Kith who no longer feed passively off human emotion but who now cultivate feasts of terror and pain. Ranulf is feared and reviled by his own people who don't see the strength and honor it takes to avoid being perverted by the tainted energy Ranulf must drain from the criminals when executing them for their foul deeds. Soren, also a Talion warrior, fully shares this hatred of Ranulf and distrusts the respect that their Matriarch has for the enforcer. So it is a hostile partnership when the two are paired to flush out an evil renegade Kith who is committing attrocities against humans in order to glut himself on their torment.
Kerry becomes the star of the villain's evil fantasies of her torture, violation and death, when her bravery robs the villain of his victims during an arson fire that was intended to feed his appetite for death and anguish. The incident awakens Kerry's dormant Kith powers, and warriors are assigned to protect the woman from the renegade Kith. Though it is Ranulf's job to hunt down and execute the renegade, and Soren's to protect Kerry and initiate her into her Kith heritage, Ranulf will vie with Soren for the role of Kerry's protector because it has been centuries since solitary Ranulf has felt an attraction like the one that the smart, fiery Kerry inspires. And Kerry, who is stubborn enough to hold her own against both Talions, will look beyond Ranulf's ruthless killer image to see the lonely noble warrior who has born the burden of centuries of violence to keep his people safe.
Dark Warrior Unleashed(DWU) leads off the new Talions series for Paladins' Author Alexis Morgan, but with minimal worldbuilding, an extremely small cast and with a herowho was more burned-out than anything inspiring the level of pathos of the Paladins, it didn't quite have the same appeal. The story itself had the feel of romantic suspense in a thin paranormal wrapper -- because of the large amount of screen time for the killer and the details of his gruesome plans -- but without the actual suspense, because the Killer's identity was revealed right away. Lacking insight into the Kith world, culture or history, I didn't get a real sense of the direction the series is going to take. But Morgan did do a great job with her strong heroine Kerry, so hopefully in the next book Morgan will flesh out her Kyth mythos a bit and take advantage of Soren's life-altering personal crisis complete with emotional scars to give the Paladins some competition.

I picked this book up thinking it was one of the Paladin series because the covers looked similar of course after reading the blurb on the back I realized it was a whole new series(yippee). I think the Paladin books are wonderful so I jumped right in to reading book 1 of the Talions. My first complaint is the fact that she just kind of dumped us right into the story without any explanation of who the Talions where, what their powers where, we didn't know the hierarchy of the group...nothing. So I felt I was reading the second book in the series rather than the first and I need to read the one before to get my bearings. Eventually the author explains the Talions origins, but still you don't get a feel for their background. The story just felt imcomplete I did however like the main characters of the story, Ranulf the Talion enforcer and Kerry the undiscovered Kyth he falls for. She's great, very spunky and quirky and really gives Ranulf a run for his money. I just need more of a back story a little more insight to why the Talions existed and why Ranulf was the only Talion who exterminated renegades. I might check out the next in this series but I'll definitely wait for this one to hit the used book stores.

Very uplifting book. Little preaching in the beginning, but helpful. I definitely needed to read it. I'd recommend it to everybody who struggles to understand why their relationships are not working the way they want them to work. It is of course not a magic stick to fix it for you, but give some insights that if applied right can change your prospective completely.

This is the most beautiful, wise, spiritual, moving, truthful book i had ever read. The words are so wise and true that it hits the core of the soul and unlocks the key to true happiness and spiritual freedom. It opens up a door to God's love, which is pretty intense. Some people may not be able to handle or comprehend how it unveils the lies all around us, that have blinded us from the innate truth.
Profound message in layman's terms

I just want to say this is beautiful book. It has a simple message. It makes you believe that everything is okay and everything is going to be alright because if you love yourself everything falls into place. I think I'm finally starting to know what that means.
This book is easy to read but the message sticks with you. The author puts a couple of meditation prayers at the end so you have something to help you stay focused on the message, if you want to. I have read two other books by this author, The Four Agreements and The Voice of Knowledge and loved all of them.

I would recommend this book for anyone that might be going over a break up or to anyone that wants to learn more about love and how it works. I saw that this book was recommended during another review session on Amazon and I thought that I would buy it to read over and it was actually written very nicely and as you read the book it includes very nice vivid examples to explain the theories that this book contains. I would recommend this book.

I have learned to understand that the door to spirituality is opened slowly instead of yanked open all at once. Even though I read nothing new in this book, I did see a different perspective that reinforced all that I'm learning, pushing that door open just a little further. I also recommend I Love You. This series is entertaining even if the story line is a little silly. It takes a mind set to ignore the preposterous plot lines, but it is worth it for fun, light reading. The characters are more realistic than the stories which keeps me coming back to the next in the series.

There are only two more books of this series to come, I may have to start over and read them all again. Fern Michaels is a winner with this series, and I'm rooting for the girls all the way ! I was hooked from the very beginning, and the fact that the men in their lives come to their side makes it even more fun. If you haven't read any of the first books of the series, get them before you read this one, you won't regret it !

I'll admit it, these aren't normally what I read, but I LOVE the sisterhood books. I've read them all from the first and wait anxiously for the next one. I'm so glad the author is continuing them. They are outlandish and far fetched and absolutely wonderful!
