I couldn't put this book down! I loved the characters of Jasha and Ann. Fell head over heels in love with Jasha. What a MAN/WOLF!!
I found parts highly erotic to the point where I had to put the book aside to just take a breath.
My heart raced throughout the novel. I loved the repartee between Jasha and Ann and enjoyed the squabbling between the siblings. Especially between Jasha and Rarik.
Dodd outdid herself with these books. I've read other books of hers and so far this one (along with the second in the series) are her best. I've just started reading the third one and I'm looking forward to reading about Arik.

Ooogh! I thought the plot of this book sounded really good, so I gave it a try. Unfortunately the heroine was running on
a mix of 95% hormones and maybe 5% brainpower (if that isn't being too kind to her!).
Sorry, but stupid female main characters do not make me want to read further, they just make me want to scream "You Idiot!" I couldn't finish the book.

I have read all three of the series and am secretly waiting for the last one but I would have to say this was my favorite.
The wolf was sooo intriguing that it had my hair standing up. The fact that he could smell her mood swings or sense her LOVE
for him was beautiful! Ann was just right in my view point. A little withdrawn but came out of her shell when necessary. The
story line was good and yes facts did not explode out at you, if you remember their are three more books so your not going
to get all the facts in this one. The love scenes in this were crazy and it actually makes you drool over a wolf. Have to
say I find wolves majorly attractive after this one...lol. Read and you shall understand the connection. This one is top for
me and hoping the last one is just as great

I never thought I would actually cry while reading an erotic novel. This story was so much more than that. Besides having
very steamy parts, this book also pulls you in through it's amazing main characters and their lives. I would definitely read
this over and over again.

I liked the storytelling perspective, and it was overall written very well and kept my interest. Although, as I reached the
end of the book, I felt a bit let down... seemed a bit rushed and ... perhaps, lacking?
I would recommend to another, just for the fact that everyone has different tastes and preferences, so I'm sure someone will like or love this book thru and thru.

This was a lovely book. It's rare when an author can come up with a truly unusual plot. This was different from genre romances
in many wonderful ways. I highly recommend it.

Just stating it was great...doesn't really cut it. I cried, I laughed, and yes I got hot. Unlike, a lot of erotica this
one had the sex, but it also had the story. The characters were real and flawed and as the reader you couldn't help but like
them even when you hated them. I highly recommend this book. It is a thought provoking book that makes you wonder just what
kind of wife you would be if you were in Sadie's shoes.

I'm not sure why Megan Hart's books, at least this one and her other two most recent, Tempted and Dirty, are marketed as
genre fiction, because they have such emotional depth and complexity. It's true that the sex is very graphic (and hot!), but
the sex provides an intimate look at the pysche of the main characters and is not at all gratuitous. As her characters are
gradually revealed, you realize these are people living uncommon lives. Sadie's story made my gut wrench, but it was never
maudlin or trite.
I've tried reading a couple of Ms. Hart's early historical romance novels, and I can't believe they were even written by the same author. Those WERE trite and formulaic. Her latest books are simply fabulous.

Karen Kingsbury writes such realistic characters that as I read her novels, I find myself tearing up with the problems they
experience. This Sunrise series is an especially good one as it deals with the Baxter family over a period of time. I can't
wait to read the final installment that concludes the Baxter saga.
I add a caveat, however; the author write in sentence fragments, and this Drives Me Nuts!

Newlyweds and movie stars, Dayne and Katie Matthews are on separate continents filming for their respective films. Even though they love and trust each other, doubts and fears begin to creep in. Then a tabloid prints a picture featuring someone who looks very much like Dayne frolicking with a female costar. Only Dayne knows the truth about the picture but he is sworn to secrecy. Will he ruin his new found reputation as a Christian and his marriage to protect the real perpetrator?
A few months ago, I felt like I was the only reader on earth who hadn't read a Karen Kingsbury novel. Then I picked up my first Baxter Family story and got immediately hooked. What I have enjoyed most about this series is the realistic portrayal of the life of a Hollywood actor. I'm ashamed to admit that I'm one of those who enjoy flipping through the gossip rags that are on display at the checkout counter. I like seeing what the stars are doing. So it was rather interesting to read what it's like from the celebrity's point of view of how damaging the paparazzi really can be. You never really think about how much the media can twist something into a lie. I really wanted to smack Luke while reading this book. As realistic as Dayne has been in the majority of the series, he struck me as kinda fake in this one. If I had been in his shoes, and my brother did something to make everyone in the world think I was a cheater and wreck my marriage, I would not be a happy camper. I'm not saying he should have punched Luke but it seem too easy to forgive him just like that. And Luke didn't really show that much remorse which made it more unbelievable that Dayne was forgiving like that. The stories involving the other members of the family were equally as riveting. I really like reading about John's growing relationship with Elaine. It's very romantic and touching to see two people with huge losses be able to come together and fall in love. I also enjoyed reading about CKT. I really wish we had one of those productions when I was growing up. I would have loved to be a part. I'm going to be sad to leave the Baxter family behind in the next book but as they say, "All good things must come to an end."

OK...this wasn't my favorite of the series. I loved "Summer." I love Ashley. She is by far my favorite Baxter.
In this one I hated the deception and miscommunication that comes between Dayne and Katy. The author has given us, what, 7+ books so far to establish that they are madly, passionately in love, and they've been married what, six months--and already Katy believes Dayne is cheating on her? It just doesn't ring true to the characters or their relationship. (Again, though--Ashley saves the day. She always does.)
Is anyone else creeped out by the Flanigans? Think about it--the makeup of the "Flanigan" family--a daughter followed by five boys, three of whom are adopted from Haiti, mom's a writer--is identical to that of the author's own family...and the Flanigans are held up as the ideal, perfect, model family? At least the Baxters have their human side. The worst thing I've seen in all the books was when Jenny was briefly slightly annoyed with Katy because Bailey didn't get a big part in a CKT show. If that's the biggest flaw she has, yikes, there's no hope for the rest of us. Even the names of the kids are similar--"Bailey" and Kelsey, "Connor" and Tyler, "Justin" and Austin, etc. I definitely come away with the feeling that the author is holding up her own family, barely fictionalized, as the epitome of perfection, and it comes across as prideful...I'm reminded of Romans 12:3: "examine yourselves with sober judgment and do not think of yourselves more highly than you ought."
I'm sick of Dayne and Katy and the whole "fame" angle and I hope the last book focuses on Bloomington. That's where the Baxter fans want to be! Oh, I do like Dayne, though. He seems like a good person, especially because he hasn't yet drowned his awful brother Luke in Lake Monroe!

I read these books several years ago, than again a few years later and I am about going to read them on my vacation for a
third time. I have owned them two times, only to share them and never get them returned. This will be my final set to own,
hopefully, as I will forever hold onto these. I still can't find any books that have touched me as much as these three. AMAZING
writing and I still remember the smallest details of the charactors, the scenes are burned into my memory. I remember sitting
in bed after finishing the first book crying and rushing to the library to get the second one and they had it checked out
so I drove to another town to get it. I finished it in ONE DAY. Warning ... you really do want to be on a vacation to read
these as you won't be able to get anything else done until you are finished. TRULY these are the most amazing writings and
they have such a heart wrenching story that they will stay with you for a long time and most likely you will come back to
read them again.

This book was absolutely incredible! I could not put it down!! I have since ordered 5 more copies to give to friends and my
mom because the book is that good! It is such a testiment of how faithful the Lord is and I learned so much about stories
in the Bible from the way she includes scripture in the story. I felt like I was in the book and could relate to every character.
Francine River has a beautiful gift from the Lord to put his grace and faithfulness into perspective throughout Mark of the
Lion. Besides Redeeming Love, they are the best books I have ever read.

Rivers began as a romance novelist, and she remains one. Mark of the Lion is predictable, hits all the hot-button issues
(abortion, homosexuality, right-to-die, etc.), and gives the reader a steady diet of evangelical Christian reinforcement.
That said, the books are quick, easy reads, plot-driven and pleasant. If you enjoy happily-ever-after endings, historical
fiction, and a persistent Christian message, you'll probably like these (my mother loved these books--she's a Nicolas Sparks
fan). If you are interested in excellent literary craftsmanship, look elsewhere.

The mark of the lions series is probably one of the best series i have ever read. I couldnt put the books down! I was constantly
in my bedroom reading for hours. The books have everything in them from spiritual to action to romance; and Reading about
Hadassah's faith for the lord just makes your faith grow even stronger and to see how she faces such terrible promblems in
wich i couldnt even imagine , she still clings to her faith .
This is truly an amzeing book. I would recommend it to anybody.

Valerie Thornhill's day can't get any worse. First she wakes up and finds herself looking at a man who is blue. Then, Mr.
Blue had the audacity to tell her that she has to have sex with five different men in order to save their lives. Valerie
has been abducted by aliens. Taken to their world, she is told that for the duration of her time on the spaceship she is
to service five men sexually for five years. If she decides not to have sex with the men who pick her, they could die. She
figures she will make a schedule and go about her duties without emotion. She doesn't count on the fact that she will want
and desire each individual man, and she should, equally. Therein lies Valerie's problem. One of the men has become more
than a scheduled liaison -- he has become the man she loves.
Good heavens above Menagerie made me squirm! From beginning to end I wanted to BE Valerie. Each male in her harem was deserving of love and I found myself individually loving every one of them. Add in the plot twist at the end and my heart smiled for a story well told. Menagerie is unlike any alien book I have ever read and the heat is out of this world. I will read Menagerie over and over.

I came across Lara Santiago by accident on an e-romance publishing site. This book was just recently released and it's worth
the download time and money! While this is no in-depth romance Menagerie is quick paced, amusing and the steam fairly rolls
off the pages. This is not a true menage book but would qualify as a multiple partner with a great twist in the end. Santiago
is ingenius and in a pulp fiction world FULL of the same old stuff it's nice to see a new, refreshing idea. If you enjoy
Kimberly Zant (be aware this isn't as dark as Kimberly Zant's stuff) or Kaitlyn O'Conner you will probably like this book.
I'd buy it hardcover and give it a re-read and that's high praise from a jaded and frustrated e-romance writer herself! So
grab it and enjoy!

I can't believe that I spent my money on this book!!! I am an avid reader (about 5-7 books per month) and this is, BY FAR,
THE MOST lame, elementary level, embarrassingly simplistic book I have ever read of this nature regarding relationship matters
geared toward women in my life. I am disgusted that I purchased this book... 17.95 gone down the drain. If you have never
ever dated in your entire life, if your mother or some adult female didn't convey simple things to you like have good female
hygiene, or don't wear winter clothes in the summer, etc. then that is the only reason it would make sense to purchase this
book. If you rated this book with more than one star, I am definitely convinced that you must have gotten another book and
not this one, because this book sucks! If this book could be published and women actually buy it for 17.95 there is no reason
why a salesman can't sell sight to a blind man. This is a pathetic, poorly written, look on the internet or at k-12 pamphlets
about girls and boys for the most basic ideas to copy so we can write a bunch of regurgitated gibberish cutesy stuff that
we call a book in order to scam people (unsuspecting women) out of their make money. The authors should be ashamed and embarrassed
of themselves for writing such a stupid book!!!! I am really slow to criticize because I understand the level of skill, dedication,
time commitment, and patience that is needed to write a book, but this book deserves to be shouted out loud! these authors
speak volumes of how watered down, and down graded the literary industry has become and they need to be called out! Shame
on you all and the publishers for ripping folks off with this crap
A total sham......

I bought this book because the title sounded interesting. I just turned 35 and feel that I am a confident, sexy, professional

typos, I found this book to be overly simplistic in its advice. In addition, there are many just plain bad suggestions that
the authors recommend, such as going to a tanning booth or laying out in the sun to get a tan. I hope any woman who reads
this has at least a little sense to use good judgement before partaking in some of these suggestions. From now on, I will
rely on what has worked for me in the past everytime, which is my own self-confidence rather than looking to a [...] piece
of [...] written for a teenager.
You will see yourself as competent, in control of your own life and able to do what you want.

Based on previous reviews I had high expectations for this book. It does have some standard, basic/good advice. Much of
what is in here however is the same old stuff repeated in several different ways throughout: Such as - having a positive
attitude, good grooming, enjoying your life by yourself - not being needy. The thing that struck me the most was the high
amount of grammatical, spelling and other errors throughout the book. Poorly written at times.
I would skip it.

READ IT!! This book will really grab you. I am not an Egyptologist, or an Ancient History buff--just an ordinary reader--but
I was drawn into the world of ancient Egypt in a way I never thought possible. And the reason for this was the voice of Nefertari,
the main character. She is not actually the Heretic Queen, but that Queen's niece. Nefertari has to live with the burden
of the reputation of her aunt, Nefertiti (whose story was the subject of Moran's first book). She grows up in the palace,
and falls in love with the boy destined to become Pharaoah, but the people won't accept her as his wife. I won't spoil the
story for you, but will say that Nefertari is a complex woman--smart and brave, but at the same time ambititious and scheming.
It is this complexity that draws you into the story--and in my case, had me reading through the night, unable to put the book
down. Like other reviewers, I appreciated learning details about ancient Egypt, particularly their views on the afterlife,
but it was the character of Nefertari that really got me hooked. READ IT!!
Michelle Moran hits a home run with her second novel!

Having read and enjoyed Nefertiti, I was really looking forward to reading this novel. I admit it was with a little trepidation
as so often a much anticipated novel fails to live up to expectations, at least mine anyway!! I'm happy to report that this
novel not only lived up to its hype but it exceeded it by far.
This is the story of Nefertari, niece of Nefertiti, the "Heretic Queen" and Ramses II. There is a beautiful love story between Ramses and Nefertarti, plenty of palace intrigue and plotting and scheming, battles, wars, pirates, evil priests, loyal friends, grand palaces, and even grander tombs. The author does such a good job of describing ancient Egypt that even though I know next to nothing about it, it came alive for me as I read. I could smell the figs wafting on the breeze, hear the roar of crowds, and practically see the grandeur of Egypt's Nineteenth dynasty.
Nefertari was a far more likeable heroine than Nefertiti and Rameses was a real hero as opposed to the self absorbed slightly psychotic Akhenaten from the author's first novel. The love story between Rameses and Nefertari was all the more special because it is real. Declarations such as: "My love is unique--no one can rival her, for she is the most beautiful woman alive. Just by passing, she has stolen away my heart" have stood for centuries as testament to Rameses great love for Nefertari.
If you liked Nefertiti, you will love The Heretic Queen. I highly recommend it!

A bookseller that I have often ordered from has a special category for novels like this -- they are called "Thumping Good
Reads". It's a category devised especially for novels that never aspire to be literature (no Virginia Woolf or James Joyce
opus would qualify, perhaps) but provide hours of enjoyment and immersion in a parallel fictional universe. This novel --
as well as Moran's debut offering -- qualifies hands down.
The heroine is daughter of that first novel's central character, Nefertiti's sister Mutnodjmet. Aside from some chronological issues (you will have to close your eyes to the fact that too many years have elapsed, chronologically, for that parentage to be valid), Moran draws on an obviously extensive knowledge of ancient Egypt, and meshes that with compelling fiction. It's hard to find novels that can combine the two as effortlessly as she manages to do. It's so seamless, in fact, that you find yourself never questioning whether something is fact or fiction; instead, you are caught up in the story of Nefertari's efforts to achieve her destiny as Ramesses' chief wife and co-ruler. Which is just as it should be.
While Moran has set herself a challenge here -- living up to a great first book, and doing it based on a heroine who, compared to Nefertiti, is almost completely unknown beyond the world of Egyptology scholars -- she has succeeded triumphantly. I was gripped from the opening paragraphs, and was angry when I had to turn off my Kindle and stop reading when my plane landed.
By the way, while you're waiting for Moran's next book (which I am, eagerly -- her books now go onto my "must buy as soon as they are published" list) you may want to check out some of the novels by Pauline Gedge, the only other writer I know of to write fiction that is as believable and compelling as Moran.

This is historical fiction at it's best!! You are drawn into the story within the first two pages. You escape into the world
of Thebes where passion and power rule the day. The author provides wonderfully lush characters that you either want to see
flourish or you want to be a witness to their ultimate demise. Adding to the intrigue of the characters is the rich detail
supported by historical fact(s).
Above all else this is a love story that still resonates thousands of years later. Nefertari and Ramesses were a match made by the Gods. A true friendship that blossoms into a never ending love affair. As a reader, you cheer for them and fear (although you know the ultimate outcome) that the evil forces will pull them apart. This is a testament to the author. The story is told so well, so seamlessly that you flow through the story as if you were a ripple on the water of the Nile River.
Once you pick up The Heretic Queen, you are not going to be able to put it down. If you have not read Nefertiti: A Novel you are going to be compelled to pick it up to fill in the back story of Nefertari. I guarantee you pleasant reading and admiration for the author Michelle Moran for weaving for modern day readers the true tales of love, deception and redemption as they have played out in history.

So When Does Her Third Book Come Out?

So when does Moran's third book come out? That was my first question as soon as I finished this book. My very first review
on Amazon was for Nefertiti. It was one of those books that made me want the author to know how much I appreciated her work,
and the only way I knew how to do that was to post a review. Now I'm back to post another one and I can tell you that this
book does not disappoint. I think it is far better than Nefertiti, and I really liked Moran's first book. But this one has
something more - a gentle love story, a wonderful cast of characters you love to hate and then feel pity for, plus, there
is action and adventure.
When Nefertari isn't trying to overcome the stigma of being related to her heretical aunt and uncle, she is going off to war with her husband, the Pharaoh of Egypt. Some of the characters who populate this book include Shereden pirates, captured spies, harem women, and an enigmatic group called the Habiru. I am so excited about Cleopatra's Daughter I can hardly contain myself. As soon as it's available for pre-order, I'm ready!

I'm surprised Jo hasn't fallen into a coma from complete exhaustion. There is never any time to stop and actually allow the
characters to really communicate with one another. It's all about which impeding disaster is occurring at the moment and how
Jo, as usual, will save the day. We, the readers, are constantly being hit...let us take a breather!
I like David. He's a good guy. But I fear that I just don't enjoy his relationship with Jo anymore. And one of the main reasons is because they've barely spent any time together in the last 2 books.
And David is constantly being portrayed as all knowing. Almost like a perfect beautiful God that I can never truly feel or connect with. So when he does show his "humanity", I just don't buy it.
I have to say that I like Jo and Lewis together better. I'm glad to see that many other readers feel the same way. There is something about their interactions and Lewis in general that feels more real, emotional and passionate.
Unfortunately it seems that the author has set it up for David and Jo to end up together in the end. Still, there is a lot of unfinished business between Jo and Lewis. I expect this to be addressed down the road. And I hope the author puts this series to rest sooner rather than later. It's time.

I love the Weather Warden series, each book left me wanting more and I liked all the characters. I say liked, because after
reading Gale Force I'm starting to really dislike David and in turn I want to hear less of Joanna's story. I've always liked
David and Joanna, but this book made it really hard for me to root for them. David seemed selfish and a horrible leader to
the Djinn. If I was under his command, I think I'd probably jump ship.
The ending was okay. Yes there was a cliffhanger, but I didn't mind it so much, especially with what happened before that. A character does kick the bucket and I didn't really feel anything. I liked the character, I just wish there was a little more build up to their death, in this book, that would make me feel a little sad, or at least feel something.
One thing I did like is while Gale Force does follow the same formula as the previous books, Caine does an excellent job at keeping each story fresh.
I'm looking forward to the next book in the series, but sadly, Gale Force didn't do anything for me.

Excuse me. Didn't the previous book end with a patented Caine cliffhanger (PLEASE, stop these!) in which all the gang had
formed a truce in order to combat the Earth waking up and becoming rather violent? Or did I dream that? At any rate I was
waiting for this question to be resolved or at least addressed (with the inevitability of an all-new cliffhanger relating
to a new problem) in this book. Instead--zippo. No really, was I imagining that plot?
(And since the ending in the last book was the same as the ending in the most recent Morganville book ["Here's our plan!"], can we expect the same in the next volume over there?)
This episode starts off extremely slowly, but around the middle suddenly develops the ol' Rachel Caine spark that makes me like her writing so much. But we get another round of rerun-itis: Jo has to be recreated yet again, this time due to a very convenient magical book and an even more convenient familiar villain popping up. (I thought Demons had been defined as being quite different from what we see here? I'm confused.) I was hoping that this would provide a neat ending to the series, with the original threat now upped in scope and then defeated for all time. Perhaps in the next volume? It does seem time to bring this series to an end.
Caine handles action so very well, and her world-building is great except when it shows cracks as it does in this book. However, Caine's portrayal of the Joanne-David relationship has always been rather superficial and plastic, and the emphasis on it this time was a real downer.
Number one, both protagonists are just too perfect. (Heck, most of the main characters in this series are perfect! Not only in personality and power but in looks. And too many of the guys have heavy crushes on the incredible Jo. Leave something for the rest of the gals in their world, please.)
Number two, the oomph just isn't there. I'd love for Caine to study how Jenny Crusie and Susan Elizabeth Phillips (have you read their last books? Fabulous!!!) approach relationships and sex scenes in their books. If Caine can ever figure it out -- wow! I'd look forward to that. (My suggestion: the relationship needs less surface glam and more honest emotion that ranges farther than mere lust.)
But overall the book pretty much rehashes what has been rehashed before. Joanne's still sticking her hand in that metaphorical vending machine that Jonathan pointed out to her. I think the next volume would be a perfect place to give us the ultimate Joanne fight, reunite the lovers forever, give a happily ever after for all involved, amen. I would truly enjoy that and think it would be spectacular reading!

Rachael's books are like a chocolate treat for the mind. There has been some criticisms over the fact that yet again we end
with a cliffhanger. Well, all I can say is that's what makes them great and keeps me coming back for more. I see each new
book as another chapter. I usually read books that are much longer so a small 300 pager is an afternoon read for me. My only
frustration is having to wait for the next one! However, compared to some authors who take 3 to 4 years per book Rachael keeps
cranking them out at a nice steady pace, not too rushed but just right to keep me satisfied. I would suggest that if you are
new to the series and are a fast reader like I am that you buy all 7 books now as once you start you can't put them down and
there aren't too many all night bookstores out there to satisfy that midnight "oh my God! I have to find out what happens
next!" book buying frenzy.

The similarities between Gale Force, the 7th Weather Warden book, and bad Chinese/Mexican/BBQ food, are pretty significant.
If you enjoyed other Weather Warden books you're probably going to want to read this one, even if other people tell you you won't like it. If you like ______ Food you'll probably want to try the new _____ place down the block even though others who've tried it tell you that you won't like it.
The initial reading of this book goes down pretty well. The initial bites of the food you ordered also go down well.
When you get near the middle of the book your brain starts telling you something isn't right. When you get near the middle of your meal your stomach tells you that something isn't right.
When you're done with the meal you're probably going to think long and hard about ever trying that kind of food again. When you're done with this book you're going to think long and hard about reading a Weather Warden book again.
Here are some of the problems:
!) Rachel Caine seems to have completely forgotten the way she concluded book six.
2) Waaaaaaaaay too much time is spent writing about shopping expeditions and waaaaaaaaaaay too much time is spent writing about how attractive David is when he's wearing nice clothes.
3) There are too many dream sequences. When a writer includes dream sequences it's generally as a page-filler.
4) The book ends with still another cliff-hanger for Joanne to face in the future.
I will give this series one more outing to right itself, but this one can be skipped.

I liked Jasha as a character, he was sufficiently wolfish to be a good shapeshifter, but the wolfishness made his pursuit of Ann more of a series of ravishments than a romance - she seemed to be more of a target of opportunity than a love interest. Ann to me was frustrating. Her whole secret and the associated angst "the bad people always come" seemed a bit childish, this immaturity was also reflected in the whole story of 'the ring' too. I am not sure why later Ann suddenly gets snitty when Jasha asks her to marry him, but it certainly takes any romantic development away for pretty much the rest of the story and leaves only the eventual lust attack when she gives into her hots for Jasha.
I really liked the backstory, an ancient deal with the devil gave Varinski males the ability to shapeshift in exchange for their service to evil. But now a phophecy promises the Wilder family, who have broken from their evil kin, four women to retrieve the religious icons used to seal the evil pact, so that the deal can be broken and the damned souls of patriarch Konstantine and his three sons Jasha, Rurik, the disinherited Adrik, and a fourth unknown 'son' can be saved. I already have all the rest of the books in this series, so I am off to find out how the rest of Jasha's 'brothers' and their mates break the curse.
