If you have had doubts or conflicting thoughts about your relationship, take a deep breathe, order this book and read it. It will definitely change a lot of your thoughts to more real and concrete truths that will help you and your significant other reach the ultimate calm in relationships. You will change for the better, and even if your significant other reads it or not, they will also change due to you reading this book. Trust me, this author knows what he is talking about. I wouldn't order any other book but this one. It definitely changed my way of thinking and made me appreciate what i have, instead of what i want.

Dr. Bernstein has captured the essential elements not only to rebuilding and strengthening a fractured relationship, but really to live a happier life. All it takes is an open mind, and a little dedication to the process, and by reading and practicing the simple tips outlined, you can truly transform the quality of your life. I wholeheartedly recommend this book to anybody who would like to improve their relationship with their spouse/partner. What you gain from reading this book is not just a profound improvement in your primary relationship, but a way to create happier, balanced relationships with other people in your life as well. These are practical, real tips that can be applied to everyday situations (I've even improved the quality of my worklife by discovering how negative I was, and how my toxic thoughts were impairing so many areas outside of my relationship issues).

Just what I was looking for! I wish I had read it sooner!

This was such a well written and easy to read book. So often, relationship guidance is written in a style which seems to be meant for fellow therapists. This book used humor and everyday language and situations to efficiently get the points across. There is enough repetition of the advice, but not too much. I will end up reading it again and recommending it to my friends.

This excellent book, written by family therapist Dr. Jeffrey Bernstein, is practical, easy-to-follow, and a quick read. Although it is not an instant panacea for relationship ills it did make me recognize my own (negative) contributions to my relationship with my husband and, later, with other, less integral people in my life. Be open-minded, willing to learn, and spend the time and thought to do the exercises honestly. I read this book prior to choosing Dr. Jeff as a therapist and cannot speak highly enough about him. (Yes, I am fortunate enough to live in the same area as his practice!)

This was another great read by Nora Roberts. I love all of her books.
The only reason I rated 3 stars, is because the cover clearly states this book should be 2.99. When I recieved the product, I saw on the receipt I was charged 4.98 by Amazon, and that is supposed to be after the buy 3 discount! I'd say they made some money on that sale!

Along with many others, I am truly disappointed by the "mini book". With an item like this, you need to advertise the number of pages. The idea of paying $3.99 for postage, and receiving the package with only $1.14 on the package made me feel like a real idiot. It will be a VERY LONG TIME before I order anything from AMAZON again.

I ordered this book without looking at the number of pages. I assumed for $5 it was a full length book. It is not. It is 90 pages and it says boldly on the cover $2.99 great deal! I paid $4.98 so that isnt a great deal at all. Save your money and buy another book.

I rented this book on CD and thought, how could I go wrong with Nora Roberts. I found this book to be slow and I really did not care about the characters. The language bothered me and Eve Dallas just did not come across well in this book. I did not find this book interesting and for an 8 hour drive I fought to finish it. Nora is too good for this kind of writing. Read her Irish trilogy a much better choice.

Another winning book in the "...IN DEATH" series, this one finds Eve fighting for justice for the lower class citizens of New York.

After finding a street sleeper dead in his crib, his heart surgically removed, it doesn't take Eve long to figure out that there's some type of conspiracy involved within the medical community. When the threats become personal and Eve is forced to hand over her weapon and her badge, her personal life takes a turn for the worse.

This is a very emotional Eve & Roarke read, and highly recommended!

Someone is killing the homeless of New York, in the year 2058, and removing their body parts! As Lieutenant Eve Dallas unravels the mystery behind who is killing them and why (affectionately known as the "sidewalk sleeper murders"), she is forced to face an adversary who will stop at nothing, including framing her for murder, to get her thrown off the case. Torn between a love for the job, a pursuit for the truth, and fighting to keep the one thing that she REALLY loves, besides Roarke, her badge, Eve is stripped of everything, and for the first time in the series, we see Eve really vulnerable and hurting (even too sad to spare with Summerset, who we all know she has a love/hate relationship with). With her true friends support, Eve continues her journey in discovering the truth, no matter what the consequences. And we all learn how really important her careeer and badge are.

If you love the "in death" series, you will love this book as well. You even get an opportunity to see Dr. Mira, Feeney, McNab, Peabody, Baxter, Webster (old lover of Eve's), and Commander Whitney. And I finally find out how Trueheart and Dr. Louise's characters are introduced into the "in death" series. [I must admit that I have not read the series in order, so finding out these things is always helpful]. I highly recommend this book.

My bookseller recommended this to me because I read a lot of Janet Evanovich and Katie MacAlister. Boy was she right. The Accidental Demon Slayer is funny, intense and it has a great element of mystery to it as well. I read this in a day, and could not put it down. I even took it with me when I let the dog out.

My only complaint is that it moved really fast and sometimes, we'd leave certain characters or a setting while I wanted to stick around and experience more of that. Of course that's my same complaint with Evanovich. Sometimes, I wish these authors would slow down. But I have to admit I had fun, and I'll be back for more if this is indeed the start to a series.

Review Date: 2008-09-09
I enjoyed this book, it lived up to what Katie Macalister's You Slay me didn't. But that's not saying this novel wasn't flawed.

It was pretty shallow and hollow. Something was lacking that didn't quite make the whole book seem real. Taking away from the world and the characters. I would be really getting into it then the book fall flat and I'd have to get into it all over again. For instance side characters would bash the main character for getting antsy and having questions about this new save the world role she was in. I can understand that these characters needed her, and some people can only focus on that. But the main character would be berating herself about it, she never thought sheesh your all jerks, but I only have this option any way. She was unrealistic functioning at times. Even though the book lacks its little extra something it was still a great read.

The characters where so fun in their variety. I was excited every time I met a new one. I love the biker names Aunt Eater just being my favorite. Even the evil villain of this novel was wickedly new and refreshing. A studly griffon who is the romance interest, is deep and not just a hunk of man flesh ready to please the main character (and readers.)

The humor was wonderful. It was hard not to laugh, and I enjoyed the wit gone in to it. Even if the novel would have fallen flat everywhere, I would have persevered just for the humor. Thankfully it has more then just wonderful humor.

The writing is pretty solid. Never having to make me go back and reread to see what happens. In fact it's pretty smooth sailing.

*** * Accidental Demon Slayer may have its flaws, but they don't hold it to far back. So anyone who was disappointed in You Slay Me, rejoice you can finally get that paranormal humor wonder right here! I look forward to seeing the next title, hopefully the second will nock my negative thoughts right out of the water.

Good read.

Lizzie Brown had never met her grandmother, Gertie, before now. On Lizzie's thirtieth birthday all she wanted to do was put her job at Happy Hands Preschool out of her mind and meet up with her friends to celebrate. Instead her biker grandmother shows up, gives Lizzie her first hug, and promptly tosses (and locks) her in the bathroom. Gertie explains that she is a witch and that Lizzie is the Exalted Demon Slayer of Dalea. Lizzie believes the woman is insane until the very second she turns thirty-years-old. At that second, Lizzie believes that Gertie's insanity is contagious because something happens inside of her body. Then Lizzie is attached by a demon out of her toilet. From then on Lizzie is on the run. Gertie's biker coven performs a rite to protect Lizzie, but Lizzie only pretended to drink the foul smelling concoction. So Lizzie unprotected and untrained for the demon-slaying job that has been forced upon her.

Dimitri Kallinikos is a shape-shifting griffin and tells Lizzie that he is her protector. Truth is that he needs a demon-slayer to help him rescue his sisters from (ahem) Hades. When Gertie disappears, Lizzie must rescue the grandmother that she has only recently met and has already come to care for.

*** I found this to be a great beginning to a series with a lot of fabulous potential. The story is very fast paced and witty, but not believable to me. I had a grandmother who rode motorcycles, raced cars (even personally knew many pro racers), and did wild things for fun, yet still the character of Gertie never seemed realistic to me. Do not let my opinion stop you from picking up a copy of this crazy and humorous story though. This really is a great beginning to the Lizzie Brown series and I am looking forward to the second novel. ***

This novel while action-filled, needs a little more kick to it.

We meet Lizzie Brown in the midst of leaving her peaceful life as a preschool teacher behind her to join her long-lost witch family. There is a great deal of mayhem. The storyline was adequate, but with a couple of loose ends, such as who Lizzie's real father is and if her mother is bad or just irresponsible. The senior citizen biker-witches was just not plausible nor even pictureable.

The book was okay (as in bearable) up until the hastily written ending which seems like a lead-in for a series. The book is from Dorchester Publishing, the publisher of Katie Macalister's books. Her choppy endings and never tied strings made me choose another author after several tries. I had trouble connecting with the heroine and the book just never really hooked me.

The book also reminds me of Julie Kenner's Confessions of a Demon Hunting Soccer Mom with the style and humor. It is definitely not a Kim Harrison novel.

This is a fast-paced, action-packed book, full of demons, witches, vampires, weres and pixies, oh my! Al, a demon Rachel Morgan sent to demon jail, is back and he's pissed. Nothing like an angry demon coming after you to keep life interesting. With the help of her vampire roommate, Ivy and her pixie partner Jenks, she struggles to find a way to trap Al once and for all before he not only kills her, but everyone she cares about. Oh, and there are several other shocking surprises along the way.

This story is very well written and Ms. Harrison creates not only characters, but a world that is so fleshed out and vivid it seems almost plausible. It was an absolute joy to read and I devoured the entire book in just a couple of sittings. I highly recommend this book to one and all.

I've fallen in love with the Rachel Morgan series. I'm not going to recap the book (that's been done many times over). I like the dynamics between Rachel and Trent. This book got into more of Rachel's past and where she came from. I was really hoping that the mystery of Kisten's death would have been solved but it was not. I enjoyed learning more about the underworld. Overall, this book was a great addition to the series and I can't wait to learn more about the Hallows!!

After reading Long Hard Ride, the first book of the Rough Riders series I was hooked on western romance. The story continued with Gemma and Cash who we met in the first book. There was a connection with Gemma and Cash but Gemma was not ready to move on after her husband of 25+ years passed away. I really enjoyed reading about Gemma finding love again in her late 40's with Cash. Cash is 10 years younger than Gemma and has a grown daughter of his own to deal with. Her story with Carter McKay was just a bonus in this book. If you love hot western romance you won't be dissapointed in this book or any other of the Rough Riders series.

Gemma Jansen's struggling to take care of her ranch on her own while continuing to supply animals for the rodeos. Only none of the promoters seem to want to use any of her animals and none of them can give her a reason why. She's in need of a ranch foreman and believes she knows the perfect man for the job.

Cash Big Crow has quit the rodeo and now takes odd jobs to earn a living. Gemma's offer of a job as foreman at her ranch isn't exactly the job of his dreams - though a more permanent home and someplace he can spend the summer getting to know his adult daughter is appealing. The perk to taking the job is going to be a stipulation he insists upon - she's the boss during the day, but at night, he's in charge.

Gemma's very attracted to Cash, however she's also quite a bit older than he is and a widow to boot. She's not entirely sure she's ready to move on but she definitely needs his help. The last thing she expects is the unbelievable jealousy she feels when she first sees Cash with another woman - imagine her surprise when she learns that the `other woman' is actually his daughter, Maci. She hadn't even known that Cash had a daughter.

Gemma's offer of a job gives Cash the opportunity to settle in one place and get to know his daughter without having to constantly be looking for work. The one big problem with the whole situation as far as he can see is the mutual interest between Maci and Carter, a cowboy/artist living and working at Gemma's ranch. Cash knows exactly what he wants, even if he's not ready to admit to his feelings; he just never guessed his own daughter would possess the same passionate nature as he. While Gemma and Cash learn that rough and ready is just how they like their loving, Maci and Carter are learning that it takes more than loving to make a relationship work - there has to be trust too.

Lorelei James definitely has a talent for telling hot cowboy stories that will have readers longing for one of their very own. Gemma and Cash are simply perfect for each other. They're both passionate and hard-working and not afraid to go after what they want. Maci and Carter's relationship is reminiscent of young love. They both have backgrounds steeping in issues they've carried with them and several misunderstandings and snafus which result in some interesting encounters and one butt whopping from Cash that Carter won't soon forget. RODE HARD, PUT UP WET is exactly the sort of storytelling I've come to expect from Ms. James. The sex is hot, but it's the emotional context that ensures it's a story you'll remember.

This (audio) book was pretty good- it's Cal and Penny's story. HOWEVER, I do think that some parts were unnecessary, and you could really tell that the writer was setting up a series. I think that if I had not heard the audio this book would have received a 3, but since I did hear the audio, and got to hear the characters through the reader, I am giving it a 4. This is the first book in the series, and I will probably listen to the rest of the series. Brothers Walker and Reid and sister Dani get their own stories. Those who love reunited stories or second chances, this one will work for you!

I would sneak into my parent's library collection and borrow their huge volumes of hardcover Readers Digest books. The ones that held the intrigue of my young mind were all of the stories pertaining to Greek Mythology. Reading this book brought me back to that old childhood obsession. It was pure candy for a reader such as myself. I never give spoilers but I do wish to add that after I finished this book, I had an immense craving for a vat of melted chocolate!

I absolutely love the Dark Hunter series but this book was dry. The relationship between the story's main characters was poorly put together. I felt like I had to push myself to read it. I did enjoy the insight into Katra and how Kenyon did some back story into her idea of Atlantis. I love Tory and I hope Kenyon develops a good relationship between her and Acheron in his story. I suggest reading this book only for insight in further books but do not hope for a good read.

I liked dream-hunter. I laughed at Geary's sarcasm and the insults passed between Arikos and Solin. It didn't get five stars because it wasn't as great a read for me as some of Kenyon's other novels, but it was good. I am an avid Dark-Hunter series reader, so it was enough to tide me over along with the other dream hunter novels until the next Dark Hunter release. Keep up the good work Kenyon

Write on, read on.

Lora Leigh is a wonderful author. This series is well written, compelling and engrossing. You won't want the books to end.

A decent enough ending

I'll just admit up front, this series wasn't among my favorites, but this might well have been the best of the lot. FINALLY we get some real insite into what makes the August brothers so confusing to us. I still don't fully understand the compulsion to share, but am finally able to accept it.
Sam, the hero, was by far the most compelling of the August brothers. His journey to find some semblance of peace was heartbreaking at times, annoying at others. But it makes him the best of the lot to me.
Heather, the heroine, has been the only female in the whole series that makes a serious attempt to get to the bottom of the whole story. And for that reason alone, she's got my vote for favorite heroine.
The culmination of the saga of the August brothers was wrapped up well for me, with all three couples as happy as can be expected, given their circumstances.

3rd in a Really Hot Series

This is the last one in the August Men series. Liked it the least, it was just ok. Yes the story is wrapped up, the bad guys are caught. Heather of course doesn't want to have sex with his brothers, but oh twist my arm OK. I was hoping for a last chapter oh, ok we are healed and we can all be with our own mates without our brothers. No that finally happens in an anthology Ms. Leigh does later. Still just a litte weird with all the sharing. Its like you can start off that way, but when your going for your happy ever after at the end, its time that the the main characters decide oh, I love you and only want to be with you. I don't know thats just me. Still love ya Ms. Leigh, your the best.

I can't believe the book was that good. The story line at so many twist in. I could not put the book down. When the end it blew my mind away to find out what happened at the end.
