I love Noah!Review Date: 2008-07-12
Noah was without a doubt my favorite character in the last book, THE DEMON YOU KNOW, and I could hardly wait to dive into his story. Christine Warren didn't disappoint! Noah's story is as hard driving as one would expect from this soldier, loyal to the core. Seeing him torn between two loyalties is heart wrenching but only makes the happily-ever-after that much more enjoyable.
HOWL AT THE MOON can be read as a stand alone, as all of the stories in this series are written to stand alone. However, Noah is first introduced in the prior book and his loyalty to his sister demonstrated in that book helps soften the dilemma he finds himself in with this story. The insight into his character in THE DEMON RULE helps the reader fully appreciate just how troubling it is to him to have to essentially live a lie, as Noah is a man who values honesty.
HOWL AT THE MOON is my favorite to date of the Others series, mainly because of Noah. Christine Warren excels at writing memorable characters the reader can truly care about and Noah is without a doubt a shining example of this. Excellent!

Great book for a married womanReview Date: 2008-08-19
I had already won the man of my dreams several years prior to reading this book, but I was afraid the magic was going out of our relationship (the seven year itch, anyone?) so I was doing a little research to get ideas for sparks.
This book was the best of my reading. The book is not about wearing tight clothes and flirting with every guy in range, despite what the title might make you think. It's about making people glad to spend time with you, whether they are a spouse, friend or colleague.
If you want ideas for what you can do with your wardrobe, attitude and behaviors, in order to please your man, find one, or just have a better time with your friends and at work, then this is the book.

Josey in the mean time, learns facts about her parents, herself and everyone around her. These characters grow on you. I am now craving a cheese and tomato sandwich along with all those sweets. I loved how each chapter had a clever, sweet title along with it, kind of a hint of what was to come.
Bravo Ms. Addison Allen! I will be waiting with bells on for your next book!

Yoko's revenge puts the Sisterhood in danger of being caught. The girls and Charles pull out all the stops this time. Thank goodness Charles is always prepared for what could/will happen.
I highly recommend this series to everyone who enjoys books that cover romance, mystery, suspense, and where women can do anything they set their minds to. And believe me they can do it all!

I really liked Inkheart, it was original, fun, and entertaining to read. I was so excited when I got Inkspell, I could hardly wait to read it...Until I started reading it. I got bored, I've tried to read it a number of times, but I always put it down after the first fifty pages or so. I just can't get enveloped in the story again. I'm not sure why, maybe because my tastes have changed, or maybe because the plot of Inkheart was original, but something that you only hear once and find it exciting before you get bored with it.
I'll update this if I ever manage to plow through the book, but most likely it's going to stay on my book case for a long time.

Queen of Babble Gets Hitched is the third and final book in Meg Cabot's hit "Queen of Babble" series. Though it doesn't quite hit the level of the previous two books, it provides a satisfying resolution to the trilogy. The reader leaves confident that Lizzie's story has been told, though a peek into her life after marriage would be more than welcome!
One element that has always been enjoyable about the Queen of Babble series is the quality of secondary characters. From Lizzie's Grandma, forever obsessed with Sully from Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, to Ava Geck, a Paris Hilton-type character whose father owns a major department store, the characters in this book are just as humorous as they have ever been. Cabot's ability to write unique and funny characters who are still relatable is exemplary - most likely, one of the main reasons she is such a phenomenally successful author.
Also, the Lizzie/Chaz relationship seems to come out of left field. Upon consideration, they work well together, but until the suggestions of the previous book and seeing them fleshed out in this one, it really didn't seem viable. Of course, once it was demonstrated how well they work together, this reader was completely on board. One thing that missing from this book is Shari, Lizzie's best friend and Chaz's ex-girlfriend. The absence of her perspective is noticeable, especially since she was such a major player in the first two books.
As always, Lizzie is a wonderful character. Though not always relatable, she is a strong, independent woman who is a great role model. (And let's face it - she's also loads of fun to read about, especially when she talks about her Spanx!) Her indecisiveness is sometimes difficult, but at the same time, it is part of the character's internal debate of what she wants out of her life. In the end, it is a bittersweet finale to the series; the book provides a satisfying conclusion, but readers will be sad to say goodbye to such an appealing character.
It does what it's supposed to doReview Date: 2008-08-19
My one problem with this book was how Luke suddenly became such a terrible boyfriend (or should I say fiance?); because of this sudden change in character, it was pretty clear who she belonged with and we all knew how the story would end. Still, overall I liked the book. It's good for when you just want to relax and get away from a stressful day.
Book Review: Queen of Babble Gets HitchedReview Date: 2008-08-17
The Queen of Babble is Lizzie Nicholls, a 23-year-old with a passion for wedding gowns and vintage clothes (her dream job is wedding gown restorer) who can't seem to keep her mouth shut. In the first book of the series, Lizzie meets and falls in love with Luke de Villiers, a French prince (nonetheless) with a lot of money but not a lot of heart. In the second book of the series, Quen of Babble in New York, Lizzie moves in with Luke in his New York apartment in order to pursue her dreams of becoming a certified wedding gown specialist. She finds a job a Chez Henri, a wedding gown shop, but things with Luke get worse. As a matter of fact, they break up, because he "can't see her in his future", while Lizzie wants to get married.
At the beginning of Queen of Babble Gets Hitched, Lizzie wakes up next to her ex-boyfriend's best friend (not to mention best friend's ex boyfriend) Chaz, while Luke comes back to her with a marriage proposal. Lizzie's dream has become true. Why, then, the idea of getting married makes her break out in hives? And why does she feel all flustered when she sees Chaz, who is totally against her marrying Luke?
Of course, all will turn out right in the end, and our Lizzie will have her happy ending, together with a much-deserved success in her career. Queen of Babble Gets Hitched is pure chick-lit at its best. With Meg Cabot's irony and gift in telling Lizzie's story, you are guaranteed for a light, fun reading.
I loved this book. I'd recommend to all Cabot fans, and to all the lovers of the chick-lit genre.

Sexy ReadReview Date: 2008-08-25
I like Leigh's take on were-animals. In her books they aren't supernatural beings but the results of genetic experiments, and there is a sort of "science" behind them.
Lora Leigh has alpha male down pat. She has alpha male down to power games. This is basically subtext D/s games. Spanking is referenced several several times. And carried out once. But the rest of it has that growly subtext, me man, you woman. So if that's your speed, this is your book.
There was a large amount of sex in this book. If you took all the sex out, you'd take about a hundred pages out of it. This is the kind of book junior high girls sneak out of the library and secretly skim for the dirty parts. You don't have to skim long. My only advice when reading this book? Make sure you have some way to release the tension.
Oh wait, I didn't tell the basic plot, got sidetracked by the growly. Basically Scheme's father is a psycho who is trying to eradicate the breeds. He even killed her mother when she betrayed his organization. Since Scheme found out, she's been working as a double agent for the Breeds to take her father down. Her father finds out and tries to have her killed.
He sends to kill her a man he orchestrated to be her lover to spy on her. Nice guy huh? I guess the wisdom here is, don't date assassins except in the case of "Nice" by Jen Sacks, one of my fave books of all time (Woman doesn't like to break up with men cause she doesn't like to hurt them, she finds its easier to kill them. She meets up with a hit man and romance ensues. It's a satire, and funny and sweet, but anyway...) At any rate, A man named Jonas is the only Breed that knows Scheme's a double agent. There is a double agent working for Scheme's father inside the Breed organization so it's not safe for all the higher up Breeds to know Scheme isn't as evil as her father.
This is where Tanner comes in and kidnaps her. He fully intends to screw her, then turn her over to Breed Law. At least he doesn't intend to kill her, though she doesn't know that. And that's about all I can reveal. He doesn't know she's a double agent, she doesn't know he's NOT a double agent. Mayhem and LOTS of sex and some spanking ensues.
I felt that the ending was a bit anti-climactic. I would have liked it to play out a certain way that it didn't for some closure, but overall it was an entertaining read. Anyone who can write 100 pages of sex and not make me want to gouge my eyes out with a spork from redundancy gets my vote.

Those created did not ask to be, but they will fight to surive. The creators act like they should be treated like Gods, but do not treat abybody kindly.
The genral kills his eife, beats his daughter and has her child aborted whith the help of the babies father. Yets he actully wonders why she would go behind his back.
I love the action, but I also like how the Breeds use what their trainers taught them for good.
The suspense in what the Council is going to do to refain control of the Breeds.
I like how the Btrrds find love and try to make it work in a dangerous world.

Taners Scheme ReviewReview Date: 2008-07-10
I did not like two of the plot developments.Review Date: 2008-07-18
This is Book 2 of The Breed series which is an offshoot of the Feline Breeds series. The Genetics Council used genetic experimentation to create humans with animal DNA, called Breeds. The Breeds were tortured, experimented upon and kept in captivity, but eventually escaped. The Council and other groups are trying to capture and/or kill them.
Jonas is a breed. He is head of the federal dept. of breed affairs. Scheme is human. She is daughter of Cyrus who is a member of the Genetics Council. Scheme hates Cyrus and becomes a spy for Jonas. Scheme continues to work for her father, but thwarts many of his activities against the breeds over a several year period. Tanner is a bengal breed who works for Jonas. They know that Cyrus has a spy among the breeds, but they don't know who it is. Tanner doesn't know that Scheme is working for Jonas. Tanner kidnaps her with the intent of getting evidence from her and turning her over to the Breed Council for punishment.
CAUTION SPOILERS:
Tanner saves Scheme from being killed by an assassin sent by her father, which is the beginning of his doubts that she is evil and in league with Cyrus. During the several days of the kidnapping captivity, Tanner falls in love with her and wants to help her, but she won't communicate because she thinks Tanner might be a spy for Cyrus. If I had been in her place, I would have at least told Tanner that Scheme suspected Tanner might be a spy, and until she knew the truth she wouldn't trust him or cooperate. Instead she was silent, and he sensed that she was lying. This was the major conflict for 2/3 of the story. This is one of my pet peeves: conflict created through vague communication and inaccurate assumptions.
My second plot problem: Cyrus wants to kidnap Scheme who is staying at the breed sanctuary. The breeds know Cyrus has a spy among them and that this will happen soon. At an evening function, Scheme secretly leaves her protectors to have a private conversation with one of the women, outside, alone. Of course, the spy comes up, shoots them with a stun gun and carries Scheme off. This was stupid. I would have preferred that the spy come up with an elaborate plan to get Scheme alone (that would foil almost anyone) and not have Scheme do something stupid to get caught.
Sexual language: strong/erotic. Number of sex scenes: ten, most several pages long. Setting: 2023 Washington, D.C., Kentucky and Pennsylvania. Copyright: 2007. Genre: erotic paranormal romance.

There's no cheating the Firestorm as Donovan finds his mateReview Date: 2008-09-08
Though neither wants to makes a committment, the Firestorm is an attraction that's near possible for them to ignore and is threatening Donovan's ability to protect Alexandra while she accomplishes a task vital to the fate of the world - one that requires focus she just can't acheive while under lustful effects of the Firestorm. But being the smart one, Alexandra comes up with a plan to cheat the Firestorm, and Donovan is fully on board with the idea which seems like an ideal way for them to take advantage of their attraction without making the committment that Donovan doesn't believe he is able to make. But Donovan is selling himself short and when Alexandra finally decides she wants to keep him, she's intelligent enough and strong enough to get Donovan past the shadow of the father who abandoned Donovan as a child and to help Donovan to see that he is not the loner he believes himself to be, but that he is a fiercely loyal supporter of those he cares about.
I liked Alexandra, though until Donovan finally won her trust, she often walked into danger while exercising her independence. She was a much better heroine than Sara from the first book. And bad boy loner Donovan was truly yummy. The fact that Donovan didn't embrace his firestorm led to a nice building of tension between him and Alexandra. So with the romance this time was being better than in the first book, and with so much more going on in the background including the perversions of nature that the Slayers have cultivated to strike a demoralizing blow in the battle against the noble Pyr, I really liked Kiss of Fury. With Kiss of Fury the ensemble of dragon-shifting warriors is becoming better established and we got to know several more of the Pyr better, so I am looking forward to the next book Kiss of Fate but really hoping that there will be many more Pyr books to come.
Kiss of Fury- A Joyfully Recommended Title Review Date: 2008-09-07
Alexandra (Alex) Madison is intelligent, determined and a scientist who is on the final steps of finishing the Madison Project - a new type of car that uses water and leaves no emissions. But when her partner is killed and she ends up in the hospital with dreams of dragons murdering him, Alex is headed directly to the Psychiatric Ward. Well, until a very sexy man steals her right from the hospital.
Alex and Donovan soon discover that there is more than a normal spark between them but both are determined that a bonding call will not sway them from their goals. Danger travels with them as they figure out it is the Slayers who attacked Alex and her partner and they are very determined that the Madison Project will never get to fruitation. Alex and Donovan have to battle to meet Alex's deadline along with the help of the rest of the Pyr. Ancient prophesy and love are just two of the keys that Alex and Donovan will need to defeat the Slayers and discover just what having a firestorm means.
The Pyr are smoking hot. Kiss of Fury is Donovan's firestorm and he doesn't really want it. Alex decides that she just might have something to say about that though. Together Alex and Donovan make a perfect pair, both personally and in their fight to save the world. Firestorm can make a couple mate but with Alex and Donovan the flash between them was only the beginning. I found that the spark inside each of them was deeper, stronger and allowed them to overcome past fears and embrace the bonding that just needed to be acknowledged to become a force all of its own. When I finish a book with a smile, a sigh and a whine for the next one NOW, can there be any surprise that I would Joyfully Recommend it? Kiss of Fury is simply outstanding from beginning to end. The only problem I found was when I turned the last page and now I have to wait for the next Dragonfire book to come.
I highly recommend that readers read the first book, Kiss of Fire, prior to this one as the stories follow one another.
