Howl at the Moon by Christine Warren is a wonderful addition to the series of the Others. The story of Sam and Noah is romantic and wonderful. You also get a brief update on most of the other couples from previous books. Not only is the romance between Noah and Sam a steamy one but the rest of the story is just as captivating. It's an action and romance packed novel sure to keep you coming back for more. I will admit that I would have liked it better if Noah had been an Other. LOL. For some reason I like it when the men are the big bad wolves...not the women. But I loved it either way.

I thoroughly enjoyed the first two books in this series, but was a bit disapointed in last release The Demon You Know, mainly because I never connected with the female lead. In Howl At The Moon, Samantha's character is much more complete, helped by her brief appearances earlier in the series. Overall I really enjoyed book 4 in the Others series, and recommend it to any paranormal romance fans.

The world is adjusting to the unveiling of the Others, the supernatural denizens once believed imaginary. Soldier Noah Bishop has been welcomed into their world, as his sister, Abby, is engaged to the demon Rule. Unfortunately, he now finds himself torn between his loyalty to country and his new friends and sister as he is ordered to infiltrate and secretly obtain information from the Lupines. Meanwhile, his attraction to sexy werewolf Samantha "Sam" Carstairs has his thoughts in total disarray. Will the attraction between them survive Noah's betrayal? And who else is after the secrets of the Lupine community?

Noah was without a doubt my favorite character in the last book, THE DEMON YOU KNOW, and I could hardly wait to dive into his story. Christine Warren didn't disappoint! Noah's story is as hard driving as one would expect from this soldier, loyal to the core. Seeing him torn between two loyalties is heart wrenching but only makes the happily-ever-after that much more enjoyable.

HOWL AT THE MOON can be read as a stand alone, as all of the stories in this series are written to stand alone. However, Noah is first introduced in the prior book and his loyalty to his sister demonstrated in that book helps soften the dilemma he finds himself in with this story. The insight into his character in THE DEMON RULE helps the reader fully appreciate just how troubling it is to him to have to essentially live a lie, as Noah is a man who values honesty.

HOWL AT THE MOON is my favorite to date of the Others series, mainly because of Noah. Christine Warren excels at writing memorable characters the reader can truly care about and Noah is without a doubt a shining example of this. Excellent!

Based on previous reviews I had high expectations for this book. It does have some standard, basic/good advice. Much of what is in here however is the same old stuff repeated in several different ways throughout: Such as - having a positive attitude, good grooming, enjoying your life by yourself - not being needy. The thing that struck me the most was the high amount of grammatical, spelling and other errors throughout the book. Poorly written at times.
I would skip it.

I bought this book because the title sounded interesting. I just turned 35 and feel that I am a confident, sexy, professional woman, but newly single, I thought why not check it out to see what it had to offer. What a mistake! Ignoring all of the obvious typos, I found this book to be overly simplistic in its advice. In addition, there are many just plain bad suggestions that the authors recommend, such as going to a tanning booth or laying out in the sun to get a tan. I hope any woman who reads this has at least a little sense to use good judgement before partaking in some of these suggestions. From now on, I will rely on what has worked for me in the past everytime, which is my own self-confidence rather than looking to a [...] piece of [...] written for a teenager.

I love this book.

I had already won the man of my dreams several years prior to reading this book, but I was afraid the magic was going out of our relationship (the seven year itch, anyone?) so I was doing a little research to get ideas for sparks.

This book was the best of my reading. The book is not about wearing tight clothes and flirting with every guy in range, despite what the title might make you think. It's about making people glad to spend time with you, whether they are a spouse, friend or colleague.

If you want ideas for what you can do with your wardrobe, attitude and behaviors, in order to please your man, find one, or just have a better time with your friends and at work, then this is the book.

It will change your life!

I've bought this book for my daughter- she's the kind that constantly looks down on herself because of her weight and this book completely changed her attitude. In order to have success in life she needs confidence, that self-trust and self-assurance that will guide her through her decisions. After reading this book she has removed the self-doubts and has learnt how to control negative thoughts that she has about herself and also dealt with outside negativity. Nothing will ever hold her back again after she has mastered her own self-esteem and has raised her confidence level. This smart and practical book addresses essential tips to help you boost your self-confidence. And while most confidence books may make you temporarily feel good, they fail to give you concrete ways to grow. This book is helpful for both young girls and women.

I adored Garden Spells. It was such a light, happy read. I can happily say that the Sugar Queen followed in its steps, but it was not quite as good. I loved the subplots and the big twist, but I feel that there could have been a bit more character development for the main character and her mother. I wish that there was a little more explanation for the breakdown in their relationship - the one given just seemed a little simple. That said, it was the ultimate feel good book, and I would absolutely recommend it if you want a quick easy read.

Josey is a 27 year old woman, still living with her mother. Her mother commands and Josey does as is required. However, Josey is about to get the shock of her life. She opens her closet door to get into her secret stash of all kinds of sugar goodies, but she finds Della Lee sitting in her closet! Della Lee pushes Josey to get some independence, realize her true feelings and gain some confidence.

Josey in the mean time, learns facts about her parents, herself and everyone around her. These characters grow on you. I am now craving a cheese and tomato sandwich along with all those sweets. I loved how each chapter had a clever, sweet title along with it, kind of a hint of what was to come.

Bravo Ms. Addison Allen! I will be waiting with bells on for your next book!

Reading Sarah Addison Allen's "The Sugar Queen", simply put, made me happy. The book was filled with witty dialogue that, at times, made me laugh out loud and characters who filled my imagination. It was well written with a clear, precise story that attached itself to the reader from the first page. Most of all, I enjoyed the subtle magical elements that almost seemed possible. If I could chose a special power, it would be that of the Chloe character for whom books she needed at certain times in her life would show up to give her guidance, whether she wanted them to or not.

Just a good, sweet book!

Unfortunately I did not read this series in order, but in any case, I have found every revenge more than intriguing. Fern Michaels knows how to keep you coming back over and over again.
Yoko's revenge puts the Sisterhood in danger of being caught. The girls and Charles pull out all the stops this time. Thank goodness Charles is always prepared for what could/will happen.
I highly recommend this series to everyone who enjoys books that cover romance, mystery, suspense, and where women can do anything they set their minds to. And believe me they can do it all!

As I completed this last installment of the series, I felt like I was saying good-bye to friends. Each of the women has now had their revenge. Never fear, Fern Michael's new series, "Revenge of the Sisterhood" is coming. Knowing that, I feel better about the ending of this one. I found myself laughing with the sisters, as well as shedding a few tears. Kathryn caught me off guard with the reason for her dislike of Spanish lessons for example. This is Yoko's revenge and her father is the devil himself.

This entire series has been fun, escapist reading. If you are looking for true crime and deep mystery, don't bother. But if you want to be entertained and have fun, by all means grab a chair at Myra's table and have a meal with the Sisterhood.

Yay, I'm being immature with my titles. Anyways. I'm going to be honest and blunt: It's been a while since I read this book, or it least part of the book. Now, I really tried to read it, I swear I did. I tried to stick with it... However, the book wasn't as good as Inkheart.

I really liked Inkheart, it was original, fun, and entertaining to read. I was so excited when I got Inkspell, I could hardly wait to read it...Until I started reading it. I got bored, I've tried to read it a number of times, but I always put it down after the first fifty pages or so. I just can't get enveloped in the story again. I'm not sure why, maybe because my tastes have changed, or maybe because the plot of Inkheart was original, but something that you only hear once and find it exciting before you get bored with it.

I'll update this if I ever manage to plow through the book, but most likely it's going to stay on my book case for a long time.

Let me start of by saying, THIS BOOK IS EXTREMELY BORING. Most of the chapters are pointless, and if they were taken out, you could still understand the story. When I was halfway finished, my friend asked if he could borrow this book. He hasn't returned it yet (And it's been almost a year), and I'm not complaining.

PS: I loved Inkheart.

I picked up Treasures by Nora Roberts, I had not expected it to be much more than a semi-interesting read. However, with every page turn, I became more and more attached to the novel's heroine, and actually found it very difficult to put the book down. Since reading this book, I have highly recommended it to all my girlfriends. It's a beautiful story about life, love and friendship filled with excitement, heartbreak and hope!!! I'd also recommend reading K. G. Glaub's novel -- Circe's Song --if you haven't yet!!

Lizzie Nichols is finally getting her life back together. The wedding gown restoration shop she works in is finally doing well - thanks mostly to her own hard work. Though she has recently broken up with her boyfriend, Luke, she is finding that being available isn't the worst thing imaginable - especially considering that she is starting to see her good friend Chaz in a completely different light. After spending a wonderful night together (in which they just slept - no funny business), their friendship begins to turn into love when someone throws a kink into their newfound happiness. Luke shows up and deposits a three-carat engagement ring on Lizzie's finger. Lizzie convinces herself that Chaz was a mistake and that Luke is the one that she's meant to be with, even as Chaz (ironically, also Luke's best friend) warns her that Luke isn't serious about the engagement; he's just afraid of being alone. And Chaz is convinced that Lizzie isn't happy with Luke, either. Lizzie insists that isn't the case...but then why does she break out in hives every time she thinks about planning her wedding to Luke?

Queen of Babble Gets Hitched is the third and final book in Meg Cabot's hit "Queen of Babble" series. Though it doesn't quite hit the level of the previous two books, it provides a satisfying resolution to the trilogy. The reader leaves confident that Lizzie's story has been told, though a peek into her life after marriage would be more than welcome!

One element that has always been enjoyable about the Queen of Babble series is the quality of secondary characters. From Lizzie's Grandma, forever obsessed with Sully from Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, to Ava Geck, a Paris Hilton-type character whose father owns a major department store, the characters in this book are just as humorous as they have ever been. Cabot's ability to write unique and funny characters who are still relatable is exemplary - most likely, one of the main reasons she is such a phenomenally successful author.

Also, the Lizzie/Chaz relationship seems to come out of left field. Upon consideration, they work well together, but until the suggestions of the previous book and seeing them fleshed out in this one, it really didn't seem viable. Of course, once it was demonstrated how well they work together, this reader was completely on board. One thing that missing from this book is Shari, Lizzie's best friend and Chaz's ex-girlfriend. The absence of her perspective is noticeable, especially since she was such a major player in the first two books.

As always, Lizzie is a wonderful character. Though not always relatable, she is a strong, independent woman who is a great role model. (And let's face it - she's also loads of fun to read about, especially when she talks about her Spanx!) Her indecisiveness is sometimes difficult, but at the same time, it is part of the character's internal debate of what she wants out of her life. In the end, it is a bittersweet finale to the series; the book provides a satisfying conclusion, but readers will be sad to say goodbye to such an appealing character.

It does what it's supposed to do

We all know Meg Cabot isn't the deepest of authors - most of us read her books for their pure entertainment value. I have to say that I really enjoyed this book, even more than the previous installments. Ava Geck (Paris Hilton version 2.0) was a humorous addition to the story. The conclusion was fitting, and the getting there was a fun ride.

My one problem with this book was how Luke suddenly became such a terrible boyfriend (or should I say fiance?); because of this sudden change in character, it was pretty clear who she belonged with and we all knew how the story would end. Still, overall I liked the book. It's good for when you just want to relax and get away from a stressful day.

I managed to get my hands on Queen of Babble Gets Hitched, the final book in the Queen of Babble trilogy by Meg Cabot. This series is one of my favourites by Cabot--I simply love Lizzie Nicholls and her spontaneous personality.

The Queen of Babble is Lizzie Nicholls, a 23-year-old with a passion for wedding gowns and vintage clothes (her dream job is wedding gown restorer) who can't seem to keep her mouth shut. In the first book of the series, Lizzie meets and falls in love with Luke de Villiers, a French prince (nonetheless) with a lot of money but not a lot of heart. In the second book of the series, Quen of Babble in New York, Lizzie moves in with Luke in his New York apartment in order to pursue her dreams of becoming a certified wedding gown specialist. She finds a job a Chez Henri, a wedding gown shop, but things with Luke get worse. As a matter of fact, they break up, because he "can't see her in his future", while Lizzie wants to get married.

At the beginning of Queen of Babble Gets Hitched, Lizzie wakes up next to her ex-boyfriend's best friend (not to mention best friend's ex boyfriend) Chaz, while Luke comes back to her with a marriage proposal. Lizzie's dream has become true. Why, then, the idea of getting married makes her break out in hives? And why does she feel all flustered when she sees Chaz, who is totally against her marrying Luke?

Of course, all will turn out right in the end, and our Lizzie will have her happy ending, together with a much-deserved success in her career. Queen of Babble Gets Hitched is pure chick-lit at its best. With Meg Cabot's irony and gift in telling Lizzie's story, you are guaranteed for a light, fun reading.

I loved this book. I'd recommend to all Cabot fans, and to all the lovers of the chick-lit genre.

"Tanner's Scheme" by Lora Leigh is the third book in the Breeds series, but it seems like these books can be read out of order. I didn't feel any kind of mental jarring from not reading book 1 and 2 first. They are books in the same world, not all focusing on the same characters.

I like Leigh's take on were-animals. In her books they aren't supernatural beings but the results of genetic experiments, and there is a sort of "science" behind them.

Lora Leigh has alpha male down pat. She has alpha male down to power games. This is basically subtext D/s games. Spanking is referenced several several times. And carried out once. But the rest of it has that growly subtext, me man, you woman. So if that's your speed, this is your book.

There was a large amount of sex in this book. If you took all the sex out, you'd take about a hundred pages out of it. This is the kind of book junior high girls sneak out of the library and secretly skim for the dirty parts. You don't have to skim long. My only advice when reading this book? Make sure you have some way to release the tension.

Oh wait, I didn't tell the basic plot, got sidetracked by the growly. Basically Scheme's father is a psycho who is trying to eradicate the breeds. He even killed her mother when she betrayed his organization. Since Scheme found out, she's been working as a double agent for the Breeds to take her father down. Her father finds out and tries to have her killed.

He sends to kill her a man he orchestrated to be her lover to spy on her. Nice guy huh? I guess the wisdom here is, don't date assassins except in the case of "Nice" by Jen Sacks, one of my fave books of all time (Woman doesn't like to break up with men cause she doesn't like to hurt them, she finds its easier to kill them. She meets up with a hit man and romance ensues. It's a satire, and funny and sweet, but anyway...) At any rate, A man named Jonas is the only Breed that knows Scheme's a double agent. There is a double agent working for Scheme's father inside the Breed organization so it's not safe for all the higher up Breeds to know Scheme isn't as evil as her father.

This is where Tanner comes in and kidnaps her. He fully intends to screw her, then turn her over to Breed Law. At least he doesn't intend to kill her, though she doesn't know that. And that's about all I can reveal. He doesn't know she's a double agent, she doesn't know he's NOT a double agent. Mayhem and LOTS of sex and some spanking ensues.

I felt that the ending was a bit anti-climactic. I would have liked it to play out a certain way that it didn't for some closure, but overall it was an entertaining read. Anyone who can write 100 pages of sex and not make me want to gouge my eyes out with a spork from redundancy gets my vote.

who is more human

As I read this book I kepr asking who ia more human, or better yet humaine?
Those created did not ask to be, but they will fight to surive. The creators act like they should be treated like Gods, but do not treat abybody kindly.
The genral kills his eife, beats his daughter and has her child aborted whith the help of the babies father. Yets he actully wonders why she would go behind his back.
I love the action, but I also like how the Breeds use what their trainers taught them for good.
The suspense in what the Council is going to do to refain control of the Breeds.
I like how the Btrrds find love and try to make it work in a dangerous world.

I really love this book. Tanner was to die for and Scheme was sinfully sexy, together they turned up the heat to untold levels. My only problem with the story was Scheme's early years, I was left wondering if she only began caring about the Breeds after she was personally affected by her father's evil. I am hoping, (though it wasn't made clear,) Scheme was in the dark about the real horrors the Breeds endured until later when she herself was abused by her father. It wasn't made clear though, which is what I didn't like. Beyond that, the book was excellent, I would recommend it to anyone looking for a great story with lots of twist and all the sex you can handle.

I love Lora Leigh!!! I have been a major fan since she started out at EC. Her books are always hot and full of great characters. This is her first mainstream book that I have read and its not as...arousing as her EC stuff but then that is to be expected from main stream books. This is a great, awesome series and to appreciate it you should really start at the beginning, the very beginning. I will have to go back and read the others. I have been a LL fan and will remain so.

I did not like two of the plot developments.

The characters were ok and other plot developments were ok, but on balance, I wouldn't recommend it unless the reader is in love with the series. The characters and sex scenes were very similar to other breed books.

This is Book 2 of The Breed series which is an offshoot of the Feline Breeds series. The Genetics Council used genetic experimentation to create humans with animal DNA, called Breeds. The Breeds were tortured, experimented upon and kept in captivity, but eventually escaped. The Council and other groups are trying to capture and/or kill them.

Jonas is a breed. He is head of the federal dept. of breed affairs. Scheme is human. She is daughter of Cyrus who is a member of the Genetics Council. Scheme hates Cyrus and becomes a spy for Jonas. Scheme continues to work for her father, but thwarts many of his activities against the breeds over a several year period. Tanner is a bengal breed who works for Jonas. They know that Cyrus has a spy among the breeds, but they don't know who it is. Tanner doesn't know that Scheme is working for Jonas. Tanner kidnaps her with the intent of getting evidence from her and turning her over to the Breed Council for punishment.

CAUTION SPOILERS:
Tanner saves Scheme from being killed by an assassin sent by her father, which is the beginning of his doubts that she is evil and in league with Cyrus. During the several days of the kidnapping captivity, Tanner falls in love with her and wants to help her, but she won't communicate because she thinks Tanner might be a spy for Cyrus. If I had been in her place, I would have at least told Tanner that Scheme suspected Tanner might be a spy, and until she knew the truth she wouldn't trust him or cooperate. Instead she was silent, and he sensed that she was lying. This was the major conflict for 2/3 of the story. This is one of my pet peeves: conflict created through vague communication and inaccurate assumptions.

My second plot problem: Cyrus wants to kidnap Scheme who is staying at the breed sanctuary. The breeds know Cyrus has a spy among them and that this will happen soon. At an evening function, Scheme secretly leaves her protectors to have a private conversation with one of the women, outside, alone. Of course, the spy comes up, shoots them with a stun gun and carries Scheme off. This was stupid. I would have preferred that the spy come up with an elaborate plan to get Scheme alone (that would foil almost anyone) and not have Scheme do something stupid to get caught.

Sexual language: strong/erotic. Number of sex scenes: ten, most several pages long. Setting: 2023 Washington, D.C., Kentucky and Pennsylvania. Copyright: 2007. Genre: erotic paranormal romance.

Great mix of characters with a story that possesses momentum

Nora Roberts' Circle Trilogy is entertaining. I am not usually a fan of vampire stories, but the interesting mix of characters, as she develops them in the first book, caused me to want to read on. Because the first book seems to be filled with so much character information, it feels slow. Frankly, I might not have finished the first book as quickly as I did, except my daughter was insistent that I read the entire trilogy. She assured me that "it gets better". And, it did. The story began to flow in the second book and I couldn't put it or the third book down. An entire summer weekend was spent with an unending promise to myself of "just one more chapter." Book two and three are worthy of the time spent on book one. Again, once past the first book, which sets up books two and three, I can promise you an enjoyable read.

Thank you for making that comment, because I just ordered the set believing it to be different from the Circle Trilogy and now I've ended up with books I've got home already! I'm disappointed by the confusing information.

Ilove Nora Roberts but these books were a bit "out there" and not as entertaining as previous books.

this was a great book. a second in a series. I can't wait to read the next one. Deb Cooke can keep your attention and make you not want to put the book down until you read the last page. Even then I still wanted to keep reading. The adventure never stops and the pages seem to sizzle in your hand. Great read.

There's no cheating the Firestorm as Donovan finds his mate

Taking advantage of all the world-building and characters from Kiss of Fire, it is great to see many familiar faces back in the action. Prophecies continue to act as the catalyst sending a mating heat Firestorm to connect one of Dragonshifting Pyr with a destined mate - this time the Wizard and the Warrior. And though there are plenty of other Pyr yearning for the very rare chance of gaining a mate and an heir, the lucky dragon, Donovan is not one of them. In fact Donovan intends to deny his Firestorm and even though wizard-to-be Alexandra is annoyingly hard to resist, Donovan is absolutely determined to never claim a mate.

Though neither wants to makes a committment, the Firestorm is an attraction that's near possible for them to ignore and is threatening Donovan's ability to protect Alexandra while she accomplishes a task vital to the fate of the world - one that requires focus she just can't acheive while under lustful effects of the Firestorm. But being the smart one, Alexandra comes up with a plan to cheat the Firestorm, and Donovan is fully on board with the idea which seems like an ideal way for them to take advantage of their attraction without making the committment that Donovan doesn't believe he is able to make. But Donovan is selling himself short and when Alexandra finally decides she wants to keep him, she's intelligent enough and strong enough to get Donovan past the shadow of the father who abandoned Donovan as a child and to help Donovan to see that he is not the loner he believes himself to be, but that he is a fiercely loyal supporter of those he cares about.

I liked Alexandra, though until Donovan finally won her trust, she often walked into danger while exercising her independence. She was a much better heroine than Sara from the first book. And bad boy loner Donovan was truly yummy. The fact that Donovan didn't embrace his firestorm led to a nice building of tension between him and Alexandra. So with the romance this time was being better than in the first book, and with so much more going on in the background including the perversions of nature that the Slayers have cultivated to strike a demoralizing blow in the battle against the noble Pyr, I really liked Kiss of Fury. With Kiss of Fury the ensemble of dragon-shifting warriors is becoming better established and we got to know several more of the Pyr better, so I am looking forward to the next book Kiss of Fate but really hoping that there will be many more Pyr books to come.

Donovan Shea is a Pyr warrior (dragon shifter) who with his fellow Pyr is out to save the world and all its treasures that include humankind. Gaia is very upset about what has been going on with her world, now the Pyr are charged with helping put all that is wrong back on the right path before it is too late. Donovan is prepared to give his all to defeat the Slayers (dragons determined to destroy humans) and his impulsiveness and daring just might work in his favor when he finds out that the current firestorm is his.

Alexandra (Alex) Madison is intelligent, determined and a scientist who is on the final steps of finishing the Madison Project - a new type of car that uses water and leaves no emissions. But when her partner is killed and she ends up in the hospital with dreams of dragons murdering him, Alex is headed directly to the Psychiatric Ward. Well, until a very sexy man steals her right from the hospital.

Alex and Donovan soon discover that there is more than a normal spark between them but both are determined that a bonding call will not sway them from their goals. Danger travels with them as they figure out it is the Slayers who attacked Alex and her partner and they are very determined that the Madison Project will never get to fruitation. Alex and Donovan have to battle to meet Alex's deadline along with the help of the rest of the Pyr. Ancient prophesy and love are just two of the keys that Alex and Donovan will need to defeat the Slayers and discover just what having a firestorm means.

The Pyr are smoking hot. Kiss of Fury is Donovan's firestorm and he doesn't really want it. Alex decides that she just might have something to say about that though. Together Alex and Donovan make a perfect pair, both personally and in their fight to save the world. Firestorm can make a couple mate but with Alex and Donovan the flash between them was only the beginning. I found that the spark inside each of them was deeper, stronger and allowed them to overcome past fears and embrace the bonding that just needed to be acknowledged to become a force all of its own. When I finish a book with a smile, a sigh and a whine for the next one NOW, can there be any surprise that I would Joyfully Recommend it? Kiss of Fury is simply outstanding from beginning to end. The only problem I found was when I turned the last page and now I have to wait for the next Dragonfire book to come.

I highly recommend that readers read the first book, Kiss of Fire, prior to this one as the stories follow one another.
