I read the 2 previous books in this series and was thrilled to have read the third book. It is a fun "new age" read. It is a great idea to have a book about the ups and down in high school be in a IM forum. I read this book in one sitting. I must mention this book can stand on its own. You do not have to read the previous books to understand and appreciate L8r, g8r.

This book, apparently like all of the books in this series, is complete trash. Over my dead body will my kids ever speak or act this way. I am a liberal, long-haired academic and yet I am disgusted at the lifestyles that this book glorifies for young teens. I understand that drugs and sex often happen early, but glorifying them in any book, much less a book aimed at young girls is completely unacceptable. This book is trash. Do not let your kids buy it.

This book is so poorly written even if it was appropriate for children to read they should not. This is a 4th grade reading level at best yet geared for 15 year olds?? Why is the writing so moronic maybe it has to do with the three main dumb girls and the poorly written plot? Don't waste your time or your brain cells on this one.
Caution to parents this book is not appropriate for children, don't be fooled by the cover and low reading level.

I was shocked when my 12 year old showed me this book. I reviewed it and found several passages where the girls in the book are talking about sexual acts performed on boys. This is definitely not a book for young girls and I'm shocked that the author added this type of material to this book. I didn't find sexual acts in the first book, TTYL . . however, I'm going back to review it more closely.
See page 157-158 for Bj references, 86 for F*ing references, page 82 for c**k references, and so on.
I'm surprised that others are rating this book so high . . must be teen readers and not teen parents.
Don't buy this book for your young children. I'm not certain what a good age is for letting your kids read about sexual acts . . .

I chose this book due to a rave review in a mommy blog I read and the five star reviews here on Amazon, and had high hopes for some "creative" ways to improve our monogamous, post-baby sex life. I am, apparently, the only disappointed reader so far.
In the introduction, Kimberly (I can't seem to call her Mrs. Ford after having read so much about her personal life) uses the word F**K more times than I have seen in print, ever. There is a chapter on vibrators, and the clear opinion that EVERYONE needs one, or rather MANY, on hand for all intimate moments. Having used one, I can say with experience, "Yes, they have a place." But so does a husband who takes the time to learn just what to do, and does it.
Another chapter discusses pornography as a way of spicing up your marriage. I am sad to say I know more than a few wives whose husbands are addicted to pornography and it has damaged their marriage, and their intimacy, irreparably. Kimberly is not advocating pornography as an addiction, but I doubt these men intended it that way at the beginning. I think it would take a strong man to only view with his wife, and therein lies the problem.
A couple of useful chapters, if you know little about your own body, are the ones on "self exploration" and the one on masturbation. The chapter on vasectomies (Snip) and abortion (Snap) were mostly well done. But the chapters on bikini waxing as a way to "improve sensation" and the one on "pleasure parties" and her experience with a professional lap dancer were more than a little strange.
I appreciate her honesty, and her sense of humor. But, I guess I was looking for something different. I personally am not comfortable with using pornography (I have watched in the past, and it isn't my thing.) I have no desire to learn to lap or pole dance, and I don't have girl friends with whom I am comfortable practicing, and I don't find a drawer of various vibrators necessary, personally.
So, if you are looking for fun stories about married "mommy sex", this may be for you. If you are looking for practical advice on how to improve sex and intimacy with your husband, keep looking.

Anyone who has ever had to balance the wants and needs of toddlers while still maintaining a healthy monogramous relationship will appreciate this book. And any mother of a daughter in the midst of this should send it as a gift right now!
I am a sixty something mother of two young mothers. I know from my own experience that they need a good laugh from time to time and this is it. In addition to the laughter it is full of excellent advice about how to manage young children and also keep the flame burning.

In "Hump" Kimberly Ford has a given us readers a truly winning book: smart, funny, sexy, eminently readable--and downright practical. Reading her extraordinary prose is like sitting down with your very smart, very cool, very knowledgeable best friend and getting some really excellent advice about sex, parenting, and being a better partner. Ford's book is intimate and worldly, and absolutely refreshing in its frank approach to the subject matter and its point of view. Finally, we have a parenting book about making parents lives better, and one that is as well-written and engaging as a good short story. I can't wait to see what she does next.

Sex in a post-children world can be infrequent, stressful, and unfamiliar. It can also be energizing, stress relieving, and a source of marital harmony. In Hump, Kimberly Ford tells stories that reflect the experiences of dozens of parents and a wind range of emotions. Some are laugh-out-loud funny while others are more poignant. On the whole, whether you and your spouse are enjoying sex 3 times a week, or a couple of times a year, you both will find stories here that help you to reconnect -- or at least have a good laugh.

If you buy this book new from Amazon, you will probably end up on the author's email list where you will be subjected to his spam for years to come. My repeated requests to be removed have been in vain and have forever erased any worth that may have been found in the pages of this marginal work. If you still want a copy, buy it here used and save yourself from the spam at least. In fact, my spam-free copy is available for sale at a steep discount.

This was a great book very interesting. I read it in two days, which I've never read a book that fast, I just couldn't put it down. However the only bad thing I found was that it focused a lot on dating techniques rather than only body language. It was all right FOR ME, because I wanted a book more focused only on body language. Great book if you want to know more on how to pick up women though. Their are better books out there on body language though.

R. Don Steele is the expert on female flirting. If you don't think he knows his stuff, go to U-Tube and watch the videos made by his local TV stations. He accurately predicted the female response almost unfailingly. This book is a capsule look at his cogent theories and well worth the small price.

The mother of one of my daughter's classmates recommended this book to me. I
purchased it and stayed up until 1am and read the whole thing! Our daughters are in 4th grade and although my daughter hasn't asked too many questions yet this book gives you the perfect tools for when she does.
I WISH I would have had this book when I was young! If every mother read this book with her daughter the world would be a better(at least in terms of morals)place!!! I've told ALL of my friends about it...and if you have boys there's one for them too. Don't let this valuable tool pass you by!

What an amazing book. Very well written, and down to earth ideas. Our jobs as parents are to protect, teach, and lead our children in their development. Because of the importance of this topic, we often avoid things we should be taking advantage of. This books help you find things in our everyday lives to use as lessons. I gave this book only 4 stars because I am only half way done. I am learning tons of information, and cant wait until the time is right to read the other half with our daughter who is 10. For now, we will work on planting the seeds for our discussion that will be coming as soon the opportunity arrises. Definately a book that I would suggest. If there is one topic that will shape your childs future, this one is it. Take the time, and spend the money. I couldn't think of a better investment.
A must have!

...how they see and conduct themselves in society, how they treat women and other men and, this book can help. Thoroughly accessible, Katz simply asks us, and shows us how, to take responsibility for change. This book certainly has changed to way I look at things, the way I talk to men and other women and, most importanly, the way I listen. Highly recommended.

I wish I had 200 copies of this book. There are so many men I know that can find themselves depicted in Katz's clear and insightful reflections on male culture today. Why has the violence women suffer at the hands of some men been called a "woman's issue"? Where's the curiosity and creativity of more men when it comes to looking at why violence and sexual violence in particular are so epidemic? Or even, more dangerously, glamorized in aspects of the pornography industry? Forget "Pretty Woman" or "The Girl Next Door" and dive into real life. Katz has done his research and articulates a vision that should make every man stand up and collectively work to make this a world they are proud their daughters and sons will inherit. I really wish I had 200 copies....

Jackson Katz's book could be one of the most important I have ever read, hands-down. Two years ago, after my wife came home from a graduate-level class, she told me we needed to watch Katz's documentary, Tough Guise (MEF). The documentary revolutionized the way I veiwed masculinity both in myself and in our culture. I then found Katz's book. The Macho Paradox does the exact same thing: Katz includes an amazing array of statistics as well as references to a variety of studies and cultural icons in order to prove his case--that masculinity needs a serious overhaul in our contemporary culture. No longer can we allow women to be abused in such rampant fashion. Katz explodes the myth that men are simply "born" with a bent towards aggression and violence; rather, he questions and explores what in our culture teaches men to behave the way we do. I highly recommend this book to both men and women, as its message is one we severely need today.
Katz is right on--this is the next step in ending violence.

Jackson Katz believes that an end to violence (of all kinds, but particularly violence against women) must come from a new definition of masculinity that does not support violent behavior. His book explains clearly why this is and how to begin to make it happen and is some of the most positive and forward-thinking work in this field. This book is very accessible--it is not accusatory or preach-y and is very honest. I have bought a second copy of the book because so many people have been interested in borrowing it. Jackson Katz is a real innovator and his book is insightful and inspiring.

This book is both accessible and sophisticated in its approach. It covers political and social issues and popular culture in great depth. However, Katz pitches his argument to the broadest possible audience; he almost never uses jargon. I used the introductory chapter in a classroom with both high school and college students, and they all responded to the piece with enthusiasm. Another aspect of the book that elevates it above many similar works is Katz's use of personal anecdotes from his career as an anti-sexist activist to illustrate his points. These stories not only help to ground the book in reality, but they make it clear that the author has tested his ideas in the field of deeds. He has constantly sought out new audiences and been challenged to refine his approach. He advocates for a very inclusive model of gender violence prevention. He wants us to be honest with ourselves and call "domestic violence" what it is--men's violence against women. However, he also makes it clear that viewing all men as potential perpetrators is not the answer. Rather, encouraging men to take the issue personally and own up to their social responsibility, while encouraging others to do the same, can make a huge difference. For anyone who would like to learn more about men's violence against women, or gender and society in general, this book is a great place to start.

Stu is a man everyone could learn from. He redefines 'macho' and, as a woman reading it, makes you long for this tenderness from your own husband. The topics he touches on are supported biblically, statistically and scientifically. A man who can pull from this book and live his life as a 'tender warrior' is truly 'every woman's dream'. I have nothing but good to say about every area of this book. If your husband is at all interested in self and/or spiritual growth, this is a must read.

Unlike the reviewer who cannot identify with Pastor Stu's military background, there are many who have served this country, that can identify with Pastor Stu's background and his major decision as a Captain in the 5th Special Forces/Ranger with service overseas, including Republic of South Vietnam. I believe his sacrifice to country and his previous role as a soldier (the values of Duty, Honor, Country) makes Pastor Stu more credible and a more powerful advocate of what it is to be a man, a GODLY man. I also believe that had Captain Weber not decided to choose the ministry over the military career, he would have been quite successful in the military and achieve a field grade ranking of General in the U.S. Army. As it turned out, the ministry gained an influential shepherd who has written a number of books that has and will continue to influence other men in their walk with GOD.
There are many worthy insights in this book and the others written by Pastor Stu. It has been some time since reading the book, but I recall that a key decision must be made by all men and that is, "Who is Your Authority?" This is a crossroad..."who will you follow?" With you continue to follow your own personal inclinations, the secular wisdoms of the day, or will you allow GOD to be the authority in your life, the guiding principles of your life, and obey the WORD? It is the most important question for all men to consider and then choose wisely. There are many other Biblically sound teachings that are covered. I will only touch upon one. As Christians who are walking in FAITH, there is a need to eschew being the "lone ranger", the Clint Eastwood-machismo solitary gunfighter that takes on an entire pack of vermin and wastes them all in glorious Hollywood images. Rather, a Christian man needs other GODLY men to stand with them, because the battle against the secular world value system and against evil spiritual principalities cannot be realistically defeated as in a Hollywood-Clint Eastwood shootout type scenario and a symbolic ride into the sunset....NO, Pastor Stu and the Bible identifies the need for comrades-in-arms, "Ranger buddies", other centurions, GOD-fearing warriors who will watch your back and your flank. You need others in this spiritual warfare. Otherwise, you will succumb. He tells it like it is. A strand of 3 cords is tough to break. A group/team of committed GODLY men cannot be defeated. Gideon had his 300. Joshua and Caleb had their forces, albeit invariably outnumbered in their battles, Joshua and Caleb's army prevailed. Obedient to GOD, go to Battle alongside other Christian brothers-in-arms. Put on the full armor of GOD and you will win EVERY Battle. Hope this review helps.

this is what i needed to know to find out my soulmate. and i did it. Ok, actually he found me and i know what to do now. Thanks Yehuda and all your family.
This book is not about religion, moral or ethics. Is only about practical things that helps you to understand what is this "soulmate thing". If anyone try to let you think something else... is only because you need to read this book for your self and take your own decision.
Do it... you will not be disappointed!!!!

Simply AWESOME! --- Such a VALUABLE Book!
I didnt even know much about Kabbalah, wasnt really interested neither, although I've heard of it, I thought that it was just another religion. When I first bought this book on Amazon there were only 2 reviews (one with 5 stars and one with 1 star) I usually buy a book based on the number of good reviews however, I need to thank the negative review entitiled "Rubbish" because after reading it I knew that the person writting that review was a christain "fundie" -- you know how that goes...we are all born sinners so you NEED to be born again (because you NEED to be forgiven first) to reach heaven with a God who is separated from you and resides in the sky, and if you dont do this through Jesus,(because this is THE ONLY WAY to get to heaven) you go straight to hell when you die...for ETERNITY!...Oh, yeah, and God loves you unconditionally even though he allows you to go to that flaming Hell for chosing to not be saved and somehow his hands are tied now, he cant help you at this point..even though he's God with all the power that created everything from the very beginning!..and this is Christianities version of UNCONDITIONAL LOVE??!..I laughed when that review said: "This book is dangerous because it will draw you away from the truth to set you truly free." hee hee hee..Yep, I guess according to the "fundie's" we all better live in fear, huh? I often hear Christians ask: are you a GOD FEARING person?! funny! I usually reply--NO, I dont fear god at all I'd rather LOVE God.--Fear only creates more fear and more chaos in this world..havent we learned yet? I just need to say THANK YOU to that christian "fear based" negative review. After reading it I knew this book would be a good read but I was wrong; This book IS BETTER THAN GOOD it's LIFE CHANGING and gives you great powerful insight into Spiritual (not dogmatic) relationships between men and women implementing both the physical and non-physical. (Women will especially LOVE this book!)to make it even better Yehuda Berg is EXCELLENT in his practical, easy to understand, entertaining way of writting...I couldnt put the book down! If you are a person who likes reading books to give you more insight on improving your relationships and it doesnt matter if you are single or married because his book addresses both issues, infact it doesnt even matter if you are a Kabbahlist or not you are definitely in for an enlightening and eye opening treat! This book is a gold mine for those wanting to improve not only their relationships but their lives! Kabbalah even states..dont believe them, apply the universal principals and see for yourself! They encourage you to always question authority and dont just believe everything they tell you! This information is good for all religions, faiths & beliefs. If you like Quantum Physics you'll notice that the information in this book will blend right in. Kabbalah knew way back then what Quantum Physics are finding now. I've been ordering from Amazon for years and never wrote a review because I was never inspired to...this is my first, because I believe that this book deserves great reviews. I am now interested in purchasing Berg's other book: The Power of Kabbalah. I'm sharing this book with my friends and others too as I feel that it is highly needed in today's uncertain and confused society. I want to give my eternal gratitude to Yehuda for helping mankind by bringing this awareness to us in an entertaining, easy to understand book--Thank You my brother! I also want to thank that negative review by: "Rubbish" K.Zukowski "Whatever is Pure" -- not in a cocky or sarcastic way but in a deep appreciative way -- Thank You for motivating me to buy this book...we are all one -- may love shine on you!

I'm sorry the other reviewer didn't like this book. That's too bad, maybe it isn't for everyone and yes, Gena is VERY blunt and loves the word 'pussy'. If you can get over that aspect, this is a funny, quick read and is chock full of great advice. Gena advocates fun over anger, sex over brooding and a 'fake it till you make it' attitude with regards to success. All stuff that is hard to hear, but GREAT advice all the same. She advocates that women drop an attitude of holding on to anger, choose fun and if you don't believe you are TOTALLY fab, you can use 'tricks' to promote yourself until you DO 'feel' it and make the great attitude your own! Sounds trite, but we all know it works! Think about the last job interview you were on...! Right? Yep, it feels 'weird' to try, but it works with men, bosses, the whole world...
I've tried this stuff with my own life, and you will get further if you choose dressing up, taking on a good attitude and having good sex over a fight. It's an odd concept to women, but men live this way. Think about that. Why is it only 'odd' to women? Take on the attitude, take on the world!

Do you want to learn how to be a parasite? Mama Gena can show you how.
She not only show's you how, she also trains you how to fool yourself
into thinking parasitic behavior is an intelligent approach to life.
If manipulating others and 'living for your crotch' is your goal, this teaches you how. If you are uncertain how to feel about yourself when you behave this way, this book is for you.
If she trains you that acting in this way is not the way a parasite behaves, then she controls your mind, just like she teaches in this book.
I feel bad for the people who follow this advice.
How will they be viewed when their beauty is gone, and they need to rely on their friendships? How will others treat them after they've lied and manipulated others for their whole life? Women who follow this advice will end up being the creepy aunt who goes to weddings alone, left alone to have fun by herself, a pathetic site to those around her.

I love Mama Gena. She helps us who are WAAAAAAY too serious in achieving etc etc and are way too serious in life to just lighten up!!! She helps us get in touch with a part of ourselves that we may not even have known about!! Don't take it all so seriously, ladies!! Life is for living! She has helped me TREMENDOUSLY to just lighten up and enjoy being a woman- something I had never even considered and certainly didn't know how to to (as an "acheiver" all of my life!) Love this woman for reminding us of who we are as WOMEN.

We should learn that the word "pussy" does not denote something bad and dirty. Our bodies are beautiful and wonderful and do amazing things and we should love every part of them. Furthermore, how someone could despise the word "goddess" is beyond me. There are several forms of goddess religion in the United States. There is a form of goddess neopaganism that is incredibly rewarding for women who have been hurt and scarred by any of the various man-god religions. These feminine spiritualities often incorporate a reverence for the female body that includes, among other things, respect for the "pussy".

As a professional eco-friendly interior designer, I find Harmonious Environment: Beautify, Detoxify & Energize Your Life, Your Home & Your Planet by Norma Lehmeier Hartie to be an indispensable tool for my work.
This book started the "green part" of my career. The sections on green living and green products for the home, along with the hundreds of resources, taught me everything I need to know--and where to purchase--green products for the home. There is also a chapter on organic and healthy food and eco-friendly personal care products and on cleaning supplies.
I utilize the tips on organizing and de-cluttering for my clients, too. (For those clients that simply can't get rid of stuff or organize, I give them the book as a gift! It works!)
The sections on Feng Shui are fantastic. Hartie makes difficult concepts easy to understand and execute. I also appreciate the fact that she takes Feng Shui into the 21st century and advises based on Western culture what makes sense. Superstitions based on eastern culture from 1000's of years ago are replaced with down-to-earth and timely advice.
As an interior designer, color is a big part of my job. Hartie incorporates the psychology of color into decorating and this works really well. For example, cool colors like purples and blues work best in rooms that need quiet--like bedrooms--because they will decrease your blood pressure and allow you to rest.
The book has tons of information, but it is easily understood and includes a good index for future reference.
Harmonious Environment is a must-have!

Harmonious Environment: Beautify, Detoxify & Energize Your Life, Your Home & Your Planet, by Norma Lehmeier Hartie, is an indispensable reference book for anyone who cares about their health and well being and for the future of the planet.
Hartie concisely covers a wide range of subjects and includes a comprehensive listing of advisory organizations, product and service resources. Part I of the book, "Banish the Ugly from Your Life," is a blueprint for green, sustainable living. Discover how to replace toxic and unsustainable products from household cleaners to food (including recipes) to furniture to personal care products with safe, eco-friendly ones. Hartie is the tough but motivational Life Coach in her approach to cleaning, removing clutter and on organizing the home or office.
Part II, "Bring in the Beautiful to Create a Harmonious Environment and Self," includes a chapter on Earth-based spirituality and a fascinating look at the Four Elements (Earth, Fire, Air and Water) and the Medicine Wheel. The core of Hartie's philosophy blossoms in Chapter Seven, "Applying Harmonious Adjustments(tm): Using Feng Shui and Other Techniques for Powerful Results." Unlike other Feng Shui authors, Hartie has experience as a designer and her skills are apparent in this chapter and the following two. She has combined principles of Feng Shui, the Four Elements, color, energy, Vastu, creative visualization, and good design principles that create a unique and eclectic approach to home decorating. Finally, Hartie provides guidance on how to manifest personal or professional desires.
In Part III, "Putting the Pieces Together," Hartie skillfully integrates the many subjects of the book into a unified and cohesive whole.
At its cover price of $19.95, Harmonious Environment is a value alone for the comprehensive green living product suppliers in the Resources section.
What makes this book so truly ambitious, however, is what lies beneath the surface. In a sense, this book is only marginally about decorating ones home per se; it is a tome about personal transformation and about saving the earth. A theme that runs throughout the book is that all beings on earth are interconnected energetically. It is empowering to read that each person has the ability to manipulate their homes and self to both raise the collective energy and to manifest their own desires. Motivational, enlightening and well organized, Harmonious Environment is one remarkable book.

The most impressive aspect of Harmonious Environment is the cover of the book. I found the information to be very basic, idealistic, or common sense. If someone has lived in total chaos and now wants to morph into harmony, this is the book for you! If, however, you're already seeking harmony in your home, I would not recommend this book to you. Harmonious Environment is a primer and only for beginners.

This book has a little bit of everything - feng shui, zodiac signs, dowsing, recipes, and organizational tips. It's so full of information it can be a little overwhelming, but she does organize the book very well. I enjoyed the food recipes and the recipes for natural cleaning solutions. The author also states that dogs prefer positive energy and that cats prefer negative energy, which I have long suspected.
The book has too much of a mystical hoopla vibe for me, though. I stopped when she got to the section about the negative effects of tampons on my spiritual energy or whatever.

I found this book in the store after a friend recommended it to me. It's fantastic! I've never been a big fan of parenting books, but this one allows the parents to figure out themselves exactly what they want to say. No one person could give you personalized advice on how to pass along your values to your child, but these authors helped me clarify my own views in order to pass them along. My 12 year old and I are now on excellent ground for keeping communication open and positive.

At last someone wrote a how-to guide for parents on this subject. This is the one to use. But before you do, make sure you have a handle on your own values. You'll probably have to answer questions like, "WHY is something right or wrong, good or evil, moral or immoral?" "Because" isn't too good an answer. For that part of it, the best book for boneing up on character, morals, and ethics before you present yourself as expert to your kids is a book on just that subject titled "WEST POINT", by Norman Thomas Remick. Then use this excellent book, "TEN TALKS ..." to do your thing.

After raising three children and hoping you did and said the right thing along comes a book that would have made it easy to have those talks. I now have grandchildren and helping them by sending this book to their parents will make life a whole lot easier. I can remember one son at the age of 12 asking about masturbation. I don't remember my response but having this book back then would have opened up a meaningful dialogue. Kudos to the authors.

The 288 pages of this book written by those in-the-know can really simplify our talks about sex, character and more with our children. The "Ten Talks" book offers parents what they need to speak with their children, confidently, about these important topics and their relationships with others. The information has been gathered from across the country and the methods have been time tested and proven. It's difficult for all of us to begin and carry on the discussions that we must have with our kids, even for those who speak easily to large groups. Our own "home-grown" group can be much more difficult to address. In addition to the topics of sex and character, this book provides advice on safety, peer pressure, ethics, meeting people on the Internet, and messages received from TV. It shows parents how to understand their own values and tells how to appropriately communicate them. The information is useful for any type of family. You'll learn how to get your kids to talk to you, which in itself is half the battle. Topics range from sex to honesty, respect, caring for others, sticking up for what you believe in, keeping promises, courage under pressure, and much, much more. A very valuable family resource. Add it to your parenting library.

The content is naughty at times, yes, and whether that reflects reality I cannot say. I found this book thanks to my visit to a family with a 12-year old daughter, a demographics I'm otherwise not exposed to, as child-less 30-something male.
What's both surprising and a tad amusing to me, and, in my opinion, this is one of the hallmarks of this book, is that it provokes such strongly differing reactions between the two demographics that seem to read it. On the one hand, the teenaged readers who view it as a commentary of their own lives, finally a book in print that publicizes and expresses how they often must feel themselves, and that thereby validates these feelings, the dilemmas, the drama and the exhileration. On the other hand, the concerned parents who view the book as unwelcome agitation of their kids around topics such as sex and drugs that they'd rather keep them away from for some more time, and the fear that presumably underlies this anger that it'll make it harder still to "get through" to their kids.
No longer a teenager, neither a parent, I have no judgment about either, but if I had to say something to either group, I'd say to the teenaged readers that while life does contain drama, sex and boys, and that all these feelings are valid, it is not all that life is really about, and what looks big and insurmountable now will make you smile and laugh about a decade from now; this is entertainment, just like life on TV isn't really like life in the real world. To the incensed parents who are fearful that this book will deter their kids from the righteous path I'd say that this book shows you one way how to get through to your girls, how the girlfriends support each other, empathize with each other and (some of the time) hold judgment.
