But....seeing as I haven't received it yet, and there doesn't seem to be anywhere on your website for me to complain that I haven't received my book, I'm afraid Amazon's readers are just going to have guess what I think about it....as am I.

Anyone at Amazon reading this, I'd appreciate you letting me know how I can find out what's happened to my book. It's no fun not getting what you paid for in advance, and then not being able to tell anyone about your problem.

How's that for a review?

Have a nice day :-)

As a college student, this book has been invaluable as a source of information for various classes. I highly recommend this book to any student of Human Resource Management or Organizational Behavior.

Over The Top View of Supposed Perfection

I got about halfway through this book and couldn't stand the back slapping tummy rubbing view of perfection portrayed by the author. I lent the book to a colleague who has worked at Southwest and they agreed. Perhaps if you hadn't worked in the game it would be a better book. problem is Southwest probably deserves a better book because they are a great success story - just don't have an author crow so hard about it and detract from the true story. I rate the book three stars (possible generous) simply because I couldn't bear to read it all. For the money I recommend 'Hard Landing' by Petzinger as far more worthwhile ('From Worst to First' is also better).

The first part of the Audio CD was a turn-off. The title begins by trumpeting the virtues of Southwest. Not only was that not necessary, it gets old very quickly. Once that is over, the discussion is quite a bit more interesting. The philosophy that Southwest operates under is presented in a "top ten list" format. In addition, the author discusses how each of the ten items is necessary for the formula to work, and thus why many companies have failed to improve when trying to use only some of Southwest's techniques.

I would recommend this title only after reading other business titles. Two in particular are "From Good to Great" by Jim Collins and "First, Break all the Rules" / "Now, Discover your Strengths" by Marcus Buckingham. I feel this book doesn't stand well by itself; rather it is a case study of these two works, and probably a few others I haven't read yet.

I recommend the former because Jim Collins notes long term successful businesses all figure out their key performance metric and subordinate all business processes to it. The first part of "The Southwest Airlines Way" speaks right to this point. Aircraft turn around is Southwest Airline's key metric, they do it better than their competitors, and all of the 10 points support minimizing the metric.

The latter references by Buckingham theorize that people's talents are fixed, not learned. Thus, Buckingham recommends hire for the talents you need, as it is a waste of resources to try and train the untalented. This goes hand-in-hand with Southwest Airlines interviewing for, and only accepting, applicants with natural aptitude in people skills. Southwest Airlines ten points to success follow many of Buckingham's observations (recommendations) on how to successfully manage employee talent.

This is a must have manual for the do-it-yourself who needs assistance making repairs to your vehicle. I did find at least one error where the section number did not correctly list the page number for the problem.

Wow, a repair manual!

I bought this manual for two reasons:
First, because the owners manual didn't describe in detail what should be greased as part of the regular maintenance.
Second, at some point I'll have mechanical problems with the truck and I wanted to have this manual on-hand when that happens.

I learned a lot from this manual relating to maintenace an inspection.
What I didn't expect was the tutorial on nut and bolt grades at the beginning of the book. It made for a good read ;)

For my job, I bought and read every book on this subject, and this is the best. It covers both polyester and epoxy resin use, it covers the widest variety of typical repairs, it has the best illustrations, and overall, it stands head and shoulders above several very good competitors.

When I saw Dover Publishers, I knew this would be a winner. John did not let me down.

You might think that military aircraft are not a good subject for a coloring book, but think again. A military jet might appear all gray, but when you look more closely at it, there are many colors and nuances that will keep a conscientious coloring maven busy for hours.

The pictures are meticulously rendered. If you get this book, look at the Navy Corsair II. John included the safety and the warning decals as well as other associated graphics. You, however, will need a knowledge of colors and markings that different countries use in order to create a totally authentic rendering, because John gives no indication of the associated hues. But the cover and back gives you details about half a dozen or so planes.

I use Crayola and Rose Art pencils and have recently addded some Prangs, Loews and Faber Castels to my pencil inventory. I have tried Prismacolor, but they tend to be too soft for me.

If you are an adult into military subjects and you enjoy meticulous detail, this is a coloring book you will enjoy.

As a homeschooler these books are a must have. I add these Dover coloring books as a supplement to all our history and science lessons. The pictures are very well done and the text at the bottom are a plus to any curriculum used today. You can make as many copies as you like and use them over and over again. You can't beat the price and quality that these coloring books offer.

I bought this book when my daughter was not even 18 mos. old. It was the first book I could get her to sit through in a long time - and she absolutely loved it. It seemed to break the barrier in getting her to sit through a story. It is perfect toddler version - it gets the message and the story across and is just right for a toddler's short attention span. Still a favorite!

A Perfect Version for Little Ones

Review Date: 2005-12-09
This little board book is indeed a very abridged version of the classic that you may remember from childhood. However, the length is perfect for the shorter attention spans of children aged 6 months through 24 months (the usual target audience for board book publishers).

The colors are bright and cheerful, the shape is fun for little hands to hold, and the prose is eagerly anticipated time after time -- especially with sound effects from the reader. :) And although it is abridged, the "I think I can!" message of the original story still comes through loud and clear.

For older children or those with longer attention spans, buy the full-length version. But for rollicking fun with your baby or toddler, I recommend this version.

This book is a typical Haynes manual. If you do repair on your own vehicles, then you have probably used one at some point in time. They do a great job of covering 99% of the repair jobs you might encounter. There is also a part that covers troubleshooting of problems and a small section that explains a little bit about the options. After market products, of course, aren't covered in these nor is this a book for the total novice. It does assume some knowledge about the way a car works and an understanding of basic mechanical procedures. But definitely a must for anyone that wants to do any kind of work on a vehicle on your own. These books are a bargain for the information that they have in them.

Excellent book, provided that you know how to use it.

I've always been an avid user of the Haynes and Chilton's manuals; I purchased this one at Amazon because none of my local parts stores carried the manual for my car (a 2003 Chevy Malibu).

If you're familiar with the Haynes/Chilton's books, then you will not be disappointed. The terminology is advanced, so if you know nothing about cars and are hoping for a basic-language, easy-read instruction manual, this won't help. However, if you're familiar with cars (which I would hope you are, if you're attempting to repair one yourself), this book is exactly what you need to get the job done.

The main reason why I purchased the book was to aid me in replacing the clutch on a 1995 Saturn SL. As it turns out the section in the book about clutch replacement is very weak and they should really add much more detail on how to do the repair.

If you own a later-model Saturn (1995 or newer), this is the manual you want to buy. The Haynes guide is only good through 1994, and it's not as detailed as the Chilton's manual. No offense to the good folks at Haynes, but as far as Saturn manuals goes, these guys have you beat. With all the things that go wrong with Saturns (yes, I'm one of the few Saturn owners who thinks the car is a typical GM piece of junk), a shop manual like this is a must have.

A must have if you work on your Saturn.
