Wonderful story for married folks with some years in the marriage

Wonderful book. I really enjoyed the way it set up the characters and the surprise at the end of the story. Because it is the next generation from Allie and Noah's marriage (the Notebook) it brings in all the good feelings you have from that story to start this one. Anyone married for awhile with the empty nest should read this story. It is heart-felt. I loved it.

Sweet, but dull

This story was only slightly entertaining. It was nice to read about familiar characters, but it has the feel of a silly, cheesy soap opera. It's not very well written, either. Very predictable. I felt like I was reading an outline to a movie script.

The Wedding is a charming story of marriage, love and starting all over again. I found that as a married man with demands on my time and energy because of my career, I could relate all too well with the main character and could draw parallels with my own life, for better or worse. The final chapter provides readers with a twist that makes the story even better in the end. All told, this is a quick and warm story about love recounted by one of the genre's best story tellers.

This book is a very easy read, and I would recommend it to anyone who is married, or might be married one day. I always enjoy Nicholas Sparks and this is one of my favorites. Only second to The Notebook, which is the prequel to The Wedding. If you love a good romantic story with an unexpected twist you will love this book.

Loved this sequel to The Notebook. It's a revelation to marriages that have over time become predictable. The characters are ordinary people who are able to break out of their normal eveyday routines to let the love of their youth break through once more!

I loved it! I only wish the hubby would read it :)

Logical sequence of events given to plan everything from organizing your home to organizing a trip to organizing a run for the White House! As entertaining as Mr. Walsh's TV program. A good reference manual to keep - you never know when you'll need to plan a safari or a trip to Europe (or a baby nursery!)

Great how guide for just about everything

My goal was to get organized and this book helped!

It has over 500 suggestions on how to organize everything, from the pile of papers in the office to the laundry room to the family schedule.

It's full of little organizing tips that I would have never thought of.
This book is great for the person who wants to be organized but just doesn't know where to start!

Good for simple organizing tasks, but some topics over-simplified

This book has its good points and bad points.

THE GOOD: The 500+ lists cover a number of organizational topics including organizing your spaces at home, organizing your finances, preparing for life events (sending kids to college, wills, etc) and just miscellaneous tasks (organizing a block party, preparing for house guests. The sections on organizing spaces and paperwork/finances contain quick lists on how-to organize your life, which I will probably use. These contain some good information since I would assume this is the area of the author's expertise. Other lists have fun and inspirational ideas, like "Decorating for the Seasons", which provides some suggestions of how to freshen up your home's look as the seasons change.

THE BAD: With so many topics covered, I just can't imagine that the author is an expert on them all. If I am looking to prepare for childbirth, I would be more comfortable reading an entire book on the topic written by someone who is an expert in the area, rather than reading a one-page summary. I had similar thoughts about the list for Feng Shu. Many topics are really too complex to be adequately covered in a short list, but the lists could serve as a quick refresher for someone who already knows something about the topics. As other readers have mentioned, some lists I'd never use and seem almost silly like "Become a Movie Director" (not one of my goals in life) or "Win the Tour de France" (not likely for me).

Overall, it's an okay book that I'll probably refer to as a starting point for some of my organizational projects. But, I'm not looking to it as "expert advice" in all areas since some topics just can't be covered in a short list. Certainly there are a number of sections that I will never use or read at all because they're just not relevant to my life.

Don't Waste your Money or Time!

I was so disappointed in this book!! I read almost every chapter unless it was something that would obviously be a waste of time like "How to Become a Model or Movie Director", what does that have to do with getting organized? 98% of this book is just plain stupid. The only good tip I got was to use a cross stitch fabric to hold earrings, ha! This book is huge, but has very little real advice on getting your home organized. I'm glad I borrowed it from my library before purchasing it!

Very helpful and practical

My every-day life seemed chaotic after the birth of my second child in August. Being a mother of another 2year-old girl and with my husband working for many hours, I needed a really working-out day-to-day program, not to mention some absolutely necessery tips to run my home smoothly.
The book gave me excactly what I was looking for:step-by-step solutions and not only theories about how to manage with clutter, kids' all around the house mess, and every day's meal planning.I have already created my own Household Organizer and I've stocked my diaper bag according the very practical steps suggested in the book. And it worked out!
My life as a working mother won't be the same again:it will be more organized and eventually more happy, because I will always have this book as a referance.

I enjoyed Sunrise immensely, probably because I became familiar with Dayne and Katy in Kingsbury's book Fame. While Kingsbury does a great job slipping in the back story a little bit at a time, sometimes it's just not as good as reading it for yourself. I loved Fame and I loved Sunrise. (Nothing like going straight to the wedding.) Actually, there were four books after Fame that led up to this point, so if you like soap opera drama in the sense that every book makes you crave the next "episode" then you'll love Sunrise as a prelude to the exciting things yet to come.

The wedding scene was also the most beautiful and romantic that I've ever read. You can't help but love Dayne and Katy and want great things to happen in their lives. Especially after getting a feel for all that they went through even without reading the previous books. Their love is rich and deep and based on the foundation of Jesus Christ. Kingsbury is unabashedly Christian in that respect. She always emphasizes the importance of salvation in the lives of her characters. I love that. The subplot regarding the perils of drinking and driving was well done as was the budding romance between the senior Baxter, John, and his long-time friend, Elaine.

Kingsbury is also the queen of secondary characters and subplots. Just like in the soaps, there are always several stories going at once. Of course that makes me crave the next book in the series--which I thankfully have--so I can immediately continue on. Kingsbury writes fast enough to make it possible to go from one story to the next. I've probably done myself a disservice by not reading everything in order (I plan to jump back to read Forgiven (which comes after Fame) and I still need to read Redemption, which was the book that started the last two series. But no matter which way you slice it, each series containing the Baxter family is addicting. I'm glad to be getting my next fix.

My fiance and I are going through this book before we get married, and its been alot of help. We're learning a few new things about each other, but mostly it is getting us talking about our views and what we want for the future.

This book is really great. It asks questions that we wouldn't normally think of and gave us alot of insight to one another and they are serious questions that every couple should ask one another. It has really helped us communicate about some serious subjects. Thanks!

A Pre-Marital Must Read!

This book of 1001 questions steps you through the inquiries all couples should discuss before walking down the aisle. Whether it is asking questions relating to the past, significant others (which many couples do not care to banter about), personal perspectives, or daily routines - author Monica Mendez Leahy understands the foundational essence of talking through these subjects.

You and your spouse-to-be have probably discussed a few of the run-of-the-mill questions contained in this book (e.g., Do you want children?). However, many of the chapters pinpoint pet-peeves, how often you like to dine out, what your stance is on separate vacations, and your reaction to tough times. Many chapters end by offering thoughts on the answers each of you gave and urges reconciliation where differences were unearthed.

This book should not be purchased with dread, but should be viewed as an opportunity to enrich your relationship and learn more about the person you love. It is a must-read for any couple even throwing around the idea of marriage and it also is terrific for pastors and pre-marital counselors who are looking to toss in a few a-typical questions for couples.

I really hope that if you are getting married, you have discussed most of the topics in this book before. If not, then the book should be helpful...but you might also reconsider getting married if these things haven't been discussed. There are a few topics that aren't obvious to discuss and if the book prompts that discussion, then it has done its job.

A must if your thinking about getting maried

If I'd read this book before my first marriage I wouldn't have said "I do"! It covers everything that can come up at some point in a relationship. It is very time consuming. But be patient it is worth the time. I am also happy to report that the love of my life has been so great at working thru this book. And it has really confirmed for us that we are truly meant for each other!

Most wonderful fiction series I've read in many years! I love Jan Karon's Mitford Season, and can't wait until the next ones come out. The characters have become so real to me, I feel like I've known them all my life. It's hard to find good Christian fiction, which are loved even by those who do not usually read Christian literature, but these fit the bill! I give them for gifts to many.

This book, about a third the size of the others in the series, appears to be something left over or deleted from about the second volume. "A Common Life" is way out of sequence and just isn't very interesting. It deals solely with the marriage of Father Tim and has little to do with Mitford or the other characters. I found the novel (it is scarcely that) a real disappointment, compared with the first four books of the series. If the author felt that the information therein was significant, why was it not included at the appropriate place in time? The question is never answered.

Sweet...

This mundane novel is something that would appeal to my grandmother..simple, quaint, well written. It is a geat book for a young girl, but for an adult reader it lacks the ability to hold one's interest. Perfectly harmless, but it makes for a dull read--a filler type story for when you simply want to pass the time...

I've found this book to be a life saver. I'm the firs tone to get married in both my family and my fiance's family so no one really had a clue on what to do or how to do it. So this book has been telling me every step of the way.

The only problem I have is that it's BRIGHT PINK. Unfortunately, not all women enjoy this colour in the slightest. I would love to be able to carry this thing around with me to help keep me organized, but I'd rather be found unorganized then be caught dead out of my apartment with this thing.

I was very overwhelmed by papers, receipts, brochures, pictures, etc... being all over the place. The pockets on this binder really helped to keep that all together. I really love the different sections, they allowed me to organize my stuff into sections and made it easy to find stuff when I needed it most. I kept phone numbers handy right at the front of the binder of the companies involved and the people involved in my wedding. This binder goes everywhere with me. It even has enough room to add things of my own. It is one of the better ones I have seen out there.

This was one of two planners I ordered and it was very disappointing. For one the binder is very flimsy and planning details involved are slim to none. Ultimately I only used this planner for overflow. This planner might work if you are having a very small wedding but it is not very helpful for any kind of detailed work. Trust me, you could do better. The best thing about this is the cute pink design, but you get over that real quick.

Ok, I will tell you the very best story was written by Charlaine Harris "Tacky", this was a great story (fun too). Then, second place is take by two, "Charmed by the Moon", Lori Handeland and "Something Borrowed" by Jim Butcher. Third place, Sherrilyn Kenyon and Susan Krinard. All were very good stories and all these authors I read alot. The rest, sad to say, not so good, at all. But, I would buy the book just for the above mentioned. I think everyone would agree when buying a "collection" of short stories this is always the case, some good and some not so good. No need to be disappointed, unless they all stink. So, buy it and enjoy the ones you will like best, which may not be the ones I liked the best.

Out of all the short novellas in this book, I liked may be 2-3 only. Some of the stories are too short to get into the author's world, and too brief to leave any lasting impressions. It's a good idea to read this anthology as an introduction to work of many talented authors presented in this book.

A bit uneven but fun.

Nothing heavy here, but some good supernatural laughs.

This is my go-to wedding organizer. It is comprehensive and full of worksheets and checklists so that you do not forget a thing when it comes to planning and orchestrating your wedding. The author is experienced in planning large-scale events so some of the tips may not apply to your wedding. However, since I had no idea where to even start planning when I got engaged, this book has been a lifesaver. I use this book with theknot.com planning checklist as well as a checklist from realsimple.com in order to make sure nothing is overlooked.
