I used this book 3 years ago when I was married and recently passed it along to my sister-in-law to be. It is an invaluable resource and a very **different** resource. It isn't a book about different wedding "ideas" ("how to arrange the tablecloths", "how to deal with new in-laws", etc.) It is a **GO-TO** resource on the actual planning of the ceremony/celebration. It gives template sheets that I found helpful to simply xerox and put in a 3-ring binder and create my own workbook. (The best part is the book is still blank for my sister-in-law now!) Your money will be well spent here.
Absolutely loved this planner!

I used this planner for my wedding in 1998. It never left my side, I took it everywhere! It helps you plan everything from the day you get engaged to the honeymoon...
If you're a listmaker and love checklists, this is the planner for you! There are tons of lists, calendars, and how-to's for the entire process. Four years later, it's still on my bookshelf for easy access. It's a fabulous planner that I'd recommend to anyone!

This book SEEMED like it would be helpful, but except for *some* info on premarital counseling, it really came very close to being like any other *secular* wedding book. Some of the advice is really dated, too.

Packed full of new information on the 911 attacks and what could have been, like the fact that they were intended to be a nuclear attack!!! Where else do you read that, or the incredible story of Glass! Just a solid book, and one of the few that covers (in my opinion) the most credible evidence that 911 was an inside job--the CIA-ISI connection.

NORAD told the 9/11 Commission they couldn't locate errant aircraft on 9/11 because the planes turned off thier transponders! Wow, too bad the Soviets folded (Sic) back in 1991. Little did the Soviets know that all they had to do to defeat America was to ensure that the transponders on their Cruise missiles and Black-Jack bombers were turned to the OFF position! Sander Hicks posits that Bush & Co. let 9/11 happen. The big lie NORAD told the 9/11 Commission confirms Bush & Co. made 9/11 happen.
This is most probably government disinformation

Sander Hicks' _The Big Wedding_ is filled with glimpses into the world of spooks and their fringe colloborators and is spiced with details that are probably both new and true. Yet, inserted in this book are some very few factual claims and viewpoints that makes it hard to believe the book is written in good faith. The author present sources as reliable when they say the main foreign power involved with the hijackings and demolitions on September 11. 2001 was _Pakistan_ (and not Israel), when they say the WTC demolitions were a _downgraded_ attack (from the original nuclear, and that US authorities "downgraded" it), and finally he refers to the Truth Movement's refusal to accept that a 757 hit the Pentagon as "our weakest link". This book is readworthy only as a study of the coverup, which this book very probably is a part of.

Remember, most viewpoints which you feel are not similar to yours are typically disalowed as credible. Keep an open mind, look to other resources with the ultimate goal of connecting the dots to the truth. This is an excellent resource for getting started.
Foundational principles sacrificed

This book tells the story of the gagging of the whistle-blowers, who predicted that `9/11 was going to happen' and `was allowed to happen'.
The author sees 9/11 as a desperate last effort of the powerful in the US (mega-capital) to divert the power of the people for their own selfish goals, not for Lincoln's vision of real democracy `government of the people, by the people, for the people'. The mighty sacrificed the US foundational principals for pure power.
A crucial text in this context is the PNAC (Project for a new American Century) where the authors ask for a huge jump in US military spending with new bases in Central Asia and the Middle East, the toppling of non-compliant regimes, the shredding of international treaties, total control of the world's energy resources, militarization of outer space, complete control of internet and a willingness to use nuclear weapons to achieve US goals. This manifesto recognized the need for `some catastrophic and catalyzing event - like a new Pearl Harbor.'
Actually, `the US war machine sucks down half the tax dollar of every working American'.
This book contains also excellent information about the 9/11 ring leader Mohamed Atta, who apparently was some kind of double agent, but was `compartmentalized': `he clearly didn't know exactly what he was doing.'
Also very important is William Colby's statement that `the CIA owns everyone of any major significance in the major media'.
I highly recommend this book to all those who love freedom, alongside books by W.G. Tarpley, D.R. Griffin and N.M. Ahmed, as well as the BBC TV-series `The Power of Nightmares'.

You will travel to Oklahoma and become a part of the Curly Q in many ways...and love every minute of it!

I was excited about the topic of this book, because I am a graphic designer and I am called upon to design invitations from time to time. However, I was a little disappointed with the content of this book. It did give a thorough background of the printed wedding invitation, written information about each possible invitation component, and some helpful pointers for a bride. However, there were very few photos and the images provided were fairly basic invitations - not very imaginative. If I had flipped through this book in the bookstore, I doubt I would have spent the money.

It looks cute (like Martha Stewart's magazines) but did not contain one usefull piece of advice. Since most of us only do this once, there is not too much personal experience to draw from. Therefore we look to the professionals for ideas, sample wording and help.
This was total waste of time unless I was going to have each invitation hand written or tied with a rhinestone buckle.

I'm not sure what the reviewer below was reading because this book contains everything you could ever hope to know about wedding invitations. It's definitely visually attractive, but it's the useful information (even gives you a timeline for you invites to make sure you're on track which I am often not!) that make this a must-have item for anyone about to get married.

I have to admit, while planning my wedding I was hesitant at first to purchase a book that seemed to be on only one wedding topic. But being into stationery and typography, I'm glad I took a chance on this one. I wanted our wedding invitation to be really special (we have been together a long time and already have a child), and this book helped us achieve that goal. All the bases are covered, so you really understand what all your options are in a simple, non-overload way. This book is like a "master class", and is great for anybody who is interested in printing, stationery or invitations in general.

I recently got married and dreaded the whole idea of writing "thank you" notes since I wasn't very good at them before. However, with the help of this book, I became inspired and wrote some truly heart-felt notes that I never imagined I could. I even received compliments from my guests. The book contained many samples for various types of situations (gifts, cash, family and even guests that send gifts but didn't attend). It's definitely worth the money!

The subtitle accurately describes this handy book, "a thoroughly modern manual for expressing your gratitude--quickly, painlessly and personally!" Naylor's text is hands down the best wedding thank you book available. While there are limited examples included, Naylor offers lots of inspiration through the following six parts:
--The foundation of thank you notes
--Saying thank you for gifts
--Saying thank you for help
--Ordering (or making) thank you notes
--Inserts
--Thank you gifts
Naylor gets straight to the thoroughly modern as she emphasizes how writing thank you notes is a job shared by both the bride and groom, while covering modern technology--including email and DVD thank yous as well as those nontraditional gifts like honeymoon registries and donations to charities. Possibly Naylor's only downfall is following the traditional way of hyphenating each and every "thank-you" tip. While this feels passé because it's never printed on thank you cards, and contradictory because she excludes the hyphen in the sample notes, it doesn't hinder her modern message for modern couples...making Millie proud.

After reading about a local couple renewing their vows in Las Vegas with an Elvis impersonator performing the ceremony, it doesn't surprise me that there's a whole book devoted to Las Vegas weddings.
This book covers the pricing, description of the facility, hours, types of ceremonies and even languages spoken. It also factors in how clean they are, how romantic, friendly and even how oddball the place might be.
If you're thinking of taking the plunge into matrimony, this book will help you plan the ultimate Las Vegas wedding.

My fiance and I are going to Las Vegas in May to tie the knot. I was so excited to find this book! It gives totally complete reveiws of each and every chapel and rates them in a fun and informative way using grades such as "Kitch Factor" and "Romance Quotient" along with hours and costs etc. Every chapel is listed....there are separate sections for stand alone chapels and those in the casinos. It gives history of the chapels and little quirks, if Elvis is in the building, or the more traditional. There are all kinds of tips along the way, and at the end is some info on great restaurants and entertainment. I have read it cover to cover and am so glad it came into my life at the right time. It has made my planning MUCH easier! If you are getting married Vegas Style you NEED this book!

For me, this book did nothing but waste my money. This book should have been entitled The Everything Destination RESORT Wedding Book because most of the information said "your resort should include..." I am not planning a resort wedding, and this book did NOTHING to help me. Save yourself the money, hit up the internet and do the research yourself. This book has nothing that you can't - and won't - find anywhere else. If you feel you need some book or magazine on destination weddings, pick up one of the many wedding magazines that are focusing on them rather than chucking out the cash for this. This book is especially unhelpful for those planning weddings within the continental US - just because it is still in the same country doesn't mean it still can't be a destination.
