Don't let the corny title put you off. This book gave realistic advice that made sense for someone my age (29) in my situation.
A lot of the other books gave very arbitrary, old-fashioned "rules" advice. Perfect for someone feeling a little overwhelmed
trying to balance life and planning a wedding.
Basic yet very helpful

I bought this book after leafing through it at Borders. The price seemed right and I liked the layout of the book. Its a
nice basic book for brides and it's set up in a way that is easy to read and follow. You can skip through the chapters and
the tips and suggestions are right on track. I like that suggestions are given so you can stay away from 'bridezilla' zone.
My main planner is the 'eveything wedding organizer' but this 'i have a life guide' is a nice complement. I am planning a simple yet elegant wedding and I dont want to many frills, so these two books have given me enough tips and ideas to plan the event that I want.
If you are planning a VERY elaborate wedding, this book can be your basic/checklist book but you might want to look for a more in depth book for your event.

I confess - I had never read a romance novel before this one! Julia London's excellent writing and humor now have me hooked.
Fast-paced, exciting, and, above all, an original and well thought out story line kept me turning the pages. Yes, it was
smoking hot, and very entertaining. One of the most impressive aspects of Julia London's writing is her wit! I read a quote
one time (from a source I can not remember -sorry!) that said "the funniest person in the room is probably the most intelligent
person in the room". Keep that in mind if you are looking for a romance novel that not only has sex and humor done well,
but well "fleshed out" characters that move the plot forward in a very believable manner. Loved it! And I will definitely
read more of Julia London's books.
Eli and Marnie smoke up the pages.

So far my favorite Julua London novel. I read this book in a day and it left me with a smile on my face. The basic story is
Marnie is a Wedding Planner who gets hired by Thrillseekers Anonymous to plan a big secret hollywood wedding. Marnie has to
work with Eli a partner of Thrillseekers Anonymous and sparks fly. It is great mix of romance, crazy hollywood people and
Alpha-males.

The author gave me no reason to admire or like Marnie. She kept doing things that made me dislike her. I didn't like her
mother or the bookclub ladies. The major romantic dilemma was that Eli was afraid of commitment. I never laughed or was
surprised.
Never a dull page. Highly recommended!

This was a really fun, sexy and fast paced romance novel. The story is about Marnie and Eli, a wedding coordinator and a stunt
man turned business man, who at first seam like the most unlikely couple. They quickly butt heads, he is too bossy and she
too chatty. These two end up coordinating a wedding for a spoiled rotten famous Hollywood couple, and ultimately end up stranded
on top of a Colorado mountain living like contestants on a Survivor game. Not too far into the story we begin to learn more
about our Hero and Heroine, and you start to see what a perfect fit they are really are for each other. The build up of passion
and attraction between them was believable and written very well. Since he is her new boss, the dynamics of their relationship
takes some fun turns. He is also getting over being jilted at the alter one year earlier, a pain he never believed he would
recover from. Marnie is quite talkative, but never to an annoying level. She is also beautiful, easy going, bright, funny,
and laughs a lot. She rarely complains, always willing to try, and overall impresses the heck out of Eli. Eli quickly realizes
she is a joy to be around, and he begins to open up to her but his new feelings confuse him. He finds himself quite attracted
to her, but he had sworn off marriage and relationships. He is a very charming and sexy hero, and the chemistry between these
two is just great. I like how she has the gumption to speak her mind and address the situation at hand. Overall, a great
romance novel with a fun story. Highly recommended.
London peeks behind the scenes of an A-List wedding - Survivor style

The series follows the partners in Thrillseekers Anonymous (TA), a group of friends who do stunt work and extreme adventure
trips. In Wedding Survivor the main TA member is Eli. Eli had been engaged to a Hollywood starlet who dumped him at the
alter for an actor she thought could further her career more than Eli could. His romantic interest is Marnie, an out-of-work
dot-com computer person with a shopping addiction. Marnie is living at home with her parents trying to make ends meet and
took a wedding planning class. TA has been hired to plan an A-List extreme wedding and needs an unknown wedding planner to
keep the wedding a secret affair. Eli is Marnie's primary contact with TA and constantly frustrates Marnie with his anti-wedding/anti-starlet
attitude. They have instant chemistry and try to keep it on an "informal" basis. The funniest part of the book is when the
A-list couple, Eli, Marnie, and a chef get abandoned in the extreme location the day of the wedding (that can't take place
because the minister and the guests can't get in). Eli develops challenges for perks (a bath, a bed, etc.). The chemistry
between the two main characters is good and the conflict between the two big stars is entertaining. A great summer read.

I found the concept of three separate stories by three different authors all centered around the same group of friends in
the same setting to be very cool!
These are typical romance mini-novels, where the protagonists stubbornly push each other away because of silly misunderstandings and annoying bickering, with conflicts that could very easily and amicably be resolved with open communication and better dialogue.
I had a hard time maintaining my interest - also I kept having to remind myself that these were contemporary westerns, because they had many elements (particularly male chauvinism) usually found in historicals.

I didn't find this book that bad as far as anthologies go. You don't get an indepth story when you read an anthology. I
did enjoy that the characters were carried forward in each of the 3 stories even though written by different authors. I
bought the book for the Diana Palmer story but enjoyed the 2nd story (by Ann Major) much more. It was more involved.

Albeit this is the first book of the trilogy I read it the third one. I knew what was going to happen though, the book is
a good one. As I was reading the book I already knew what was going to happen to Mia and the rest of the family and still
have a good time. Nevertheless the best book for me was the book No. 3 "The Seductive One".

The Sparkling One by Susan Mallery is a great introduction to a great series. I have read them out of order and it gives a
little away but not enough. This is series tells the story of four sisters who are from a Italian/Irish wine making family.
This story tells the story of Katie the oldest sister who falls for Mia's fiance father. Great dialogue -- I love the family.
Check out the whole series; The Sparkling One (1),The Sassy One (2),The Seductive One (3), The Marcelli Bride (4),The Marcelli Princess (5 coming out 2007).

Event coordinator, Katie Marcelli has just landed a major coup - to organize a huge charity fund raiser. As an added bonus,
the man in charge is a sexy lawyer named Zach Stryker. Nothing can take her off her high; not even her loud boisterous family
when she gathers with them for her youngest sister's engagement party. To guard from the numerous pleas to settle down and
find herself a man, Katie mentions a possible romance with her new client. Imagine her surprise (or horror) to find that Zach
is the father of the groom, and of course her family manages to further humiliate her when they mention that they have heard
all about Zach, to his amusement.
Zach also has a secret up his sleeve - he hired Katie in hopes she'd be indebted to him enough to help him break up the engagement of his 18 year old son (who was born when Zach was 17). Katie doesn't bow to his threats, and they suddenly find themselves attracted to each other. While she doesn't agree with Mia's choice to get married so young, she doesn't want Zach interfering.
The first Marcelli saga is a really engaging and sizzling story that probes into the relationships between Katie and Zach; Zach and David; David and Mia; as well as the entire extended Marcelli family headed by the staunch patriarch "Gramps", who wants nothing more than a male heir to whom he can pass on the family vineyard.

vibrant, likable, and strong.
I love this book for its heartfelt love story. It's a pleasure to read a HP, with loveable and emotional hero, not harsh and/or rigid ones. Both Raschid and Evie really complimented each other. I highly recommend!!.

The Mistress Bride by Michelle Reid
Harlequin Presents # 2054 - October 1999
Society Weddings themed series
Sheik Raschid Al Kadah and Evie Delahaye entered into their affair with both eyes open; their time will be brief. But two wonderful years later, society was amazed they were still together. With the strain of attending her brother's wedding, Evie holds back a secret from Raschid that will shake both worlds. And shake worlds it does. Evie is pregnant, and when she tells Raschid he is stunned, then tells her they will get married. They both know this is impossible; there is no way an Anglo bride will be acceptable to Raschid's father or his people. And Evie's blue blood family will never accept Raschid. Especially now that Raschid's father has announced to the world that Raschid is to marry the Arabian princess who had been promised to him years before. Raschid is furious with his father for the announcement, and vows to Evie that he will fix this and that Evie is the only woman he will marry. Raschid's duty to his father and his sheikhdom is great. Evie knows it would be far far better for all, if she and her baby would just disappear.
Awesome! This is my best read of the year so far! It's evident early in the book that the love and passion between Raschid and Evie is tremendous. Raschid means it when he says "you are my heart, my life, my soul.. I am your other half" The obstacles are so great for these two to be together, that I wasn't sure until the end that they would be able to have their HEA. These two are among the most deeply developed characters I've read. I was emotionally involved from the first pages. Bravo to Ms. Reid! An most excellent read! :D

Front he back: The whole world was interested in Sheik Raschid Al Kadah and Evie Delahaye. Despite fierce opposition, their
passionate, high-profile affair had lasted for two ecstatic years - but soon the relationship would have to end. Raschid
was expected to marry an Arabian princess, and Evie's mother was pushng her toward a member of the English aristocracy. Time
was running out, but then something drastic happened. Raschid was a man of honor, which meant he must go against his family's
wishes and make Evie his bride.
I loved this book. Great passionate story. My one problem, and this is pretty big, is with Raschid. He was very quick to do the right thing, but it bothered me how easily it was done. After all, it was very obvious how much Evie had suffered due to their illicit affair (and how little he had). Why had he not just taken charge and married her years ago? Besides that, though, I really enjoyed this book greatly, and highly recommend it.

...Why, oh why do I fall for Amazon reviews? This book sounded so good, according to everyone else who read it, but I found
the heroine to be a stick figure, and since almost the whole book is written from her POV, her frozen martyrdom over the hero's
potential marriage to another woman affected the whole story for me. Evie was only one step away from being a wimpy Sara
Craven-style heroine. The hero, Raschid, also struck me as nothing more than a rich possessive stud who couldn't stand not
to get his own way in everything. It had a great potential love story \-- two people from two different worlds who love each
other and need to overcome obstacles to marry -- but it just didn't live up to that potential. I could never believe these
two people LOVED each other. Sure, they were sexually crazy about each other (they were always hot & bothered the instant
they looked at each other even across a crowded room) but "love"? I didn't believe it for a minute. Michelle Reid has written
better than this: THE PRICE OF A BRIDE is a similar story but much more skillfully told.

I've read hundreds of romance novels over many years, and this one stands out. Raschid is the heir to an Arabic country,
and Evie, a member of the British aristocracy. The book begins after this couple have been together for two years and are
struggling to remain together, with pressures from both families to marry within their cultures. This is unusual, as most
romance books begin with couples who meet for the first time or have been separated for years. Events happen in both Evie's
and Raschid's lives which force them to a decision point. Although Raschid and Evie have intense pressures to deal with,
neither of them fly off the handle and take erratic actions, even though their emotions push them in these directions. Michelle
Reid did such a good job of describing the conflict that prevented these two from marrying that I could not predict a resolution.
The romantic feelings between the couple, the way they knew and understood each other, dealt with each other's foibles, was
far above the maturity of most characters in romance novels. At the same time, Michelle was able to create a dominant man
who was not domineering, and a woman who loved him deeply, enough to put her own needs aside, if doing otherwise would destroy
the basis of their love for each other. This is a keeper and perhaps the best of Michelle Reid's books to date. I also recommend,
"The Sheik's Chosen Wife," in which Evie and Raschid are secondary characters. Two more related books are planned for release
in September and December 2002.

The book is good but not exact. It simplifies some of the songs. I have taken the time to compare the works in the books to
their original counterparts and have found that they have simplified. In some cases I disagree with the revisions but in
all, when played, they sound fine, and are relatively easy to complete. If you need it fast, like I did, then these transcriptions
are easy enough and sound good enough to fool the average listener.

This book offered some nice tips for my husband's and my Celtic wedding. My heritage is both Scottish and Irish, and we incorporated
various things for both cultures which made it quite special (and unique). If you're looking to have your Irish heritage
play a part in your wedding, this is a good book for that.

We are planning to weave a thread of Irish Tradition throughout our ceremony and recepition. (I am the Mother of the Bride).
I found this book well organized and packed with lots of great tips. You can choose how much or how little of the suggestions
are appropriate for your wedding. There are sections on every segment of a wedding, making finding what you're looking for
very easy. And there are LOTS of resources listed as well as names of songs....i.e. a lot of information that you can take
action on. My book is dog eared with many highlighted sections throughout. I liked it so much I sent another copy to my daughter
(the bride) and she loved it!

Today, more than ever before, engaged couples are eager for ways to make their weddings more unique, distinctive, and therefore
memorable in the eyes of their guests. Each week, my mailbox is filled with letters from brides who are seeking suggestions
on how to do this. One of the first pieces of advice I offer is to consider having a 'theme' wedding - a very in vogue idea
at the present time.
A well chosen theme will not only make your wedding day more memorable, it can make it more meaningful as well. This is especially true when the theme is built around the ethnic background of either the bride, groom, or the couple as a whole.
Traditional Irish weddings, in particular, became especially popular as a wedding theme a few years back and continue to capture the imagination with their charm. The interest in this style of wedding has grown so strong, in fact, that author Bridget Haggerty has filled an entire book with information on ways to incorporate Irish customs, traditions, and flourishes into the wedding festivities.
I had the pleasure to getting to know Bridget Haggerty when she was a member of a discussion group I ran at my SuperWeddings site back in 2000, and it was then that I first reviewed her book. I can personally attest that her knowledge of her subject matter is extensive, and I was impressed by the very genuine level of interest she clearly has in helping her readers plan weddings which truly are extra special - a sentiment I completely share.
In The Traditional Irish Wedding, Haggerty presents an inspiring array of creative ideas for planning a wedding with an enchanting Irish flair which will undoubtedly stand out in the memories of all who attend. If it's an *authentic* Irish wedding you crave, this is the book for you.
The author leaves no stone unturned as she guides you through the selection of wedding apparel; invitations; vows, blessings, prayers and readings; music selections for absolutely all phases of the wedding; the selection of accessories and decorations; food; favors; toasts; and the list goes on - ALL in keeping with the Irish theme. Also included are Irish touches for pre-wedding and post-wedding gatherings and parties, including showers, bachelor and bachelorette parties, the rehearsal dinner, and more. She even goes so far as to offer menu suggestions for the reception and other wedding-related celebrations, complete with a wonderful collection of suitable Irish recipes.
No book about planning Irish weddings would be complete without a thorough discussion of planning an Irish honeymoon, and once agan, this author does not disappoint. She covers the different types of Irish honeymoon possibilities, places to stay, sights to see, tours, tips from travel specialists, resources and services to use during planning, and even includes a suggested itinerary as well as some Irish honeymoon recollections of a former bride and groom. Her attention to detail is certain to make planning the perfect Irish honeymoon a breeze.
The book is engaging from the very first page, and makes a wonderful read for anyone with an interest in weddings in general, or in Irish culture. You need not be of Irish descent to enjoy this one. While I expected to find information which would only be of interest to those planning an Irish themed wedding, I was pleasantly surprised that this was absolutley not the case. Although I have absolutley zero Irish ancestry in my background, I found the book to be immediately interesting and delightful - and terribly difficult to put down.
This one is labeled a 'must read' for every bride of Irish heritage, anyone with an interest in Irish customs and traditions, or anyone fascinated by weddings in general - and it certainly belongs in the personal reference library of every professional wedding coordinator or bridal consultant.

As a special event florist specializing in exclusive, high-end, wedding design, I own nearly 40 floral and floral design books
that I use as reference (for myself and my clients) for my business. In my opinion, out of all the wedding design books I've
ever seen, this book is the best bridal bouquet photo book in existance today. It's not a step-by-step, "how to" book so
readers won't see any instructions for how to re-create the designs in the book. However, what they will see is a large,
hardcover book that showcases a HUGE volume of photos of diversely-styled bouquets designed by many different floral designers
(some well known and some up-and-coming) from across the US. The book also contains wedding resources pages and an introduction/foreward
from the President of the Association for Wedding Professionals International.
While many of the most recently published design books contain styles by only one or two designers, and often many of the pages in those books contain a great deal of filler text and filler photos (with only 1 bouquet photo per 1-2 pages, for example), this book contains multiple bouquet photos on the majority of pages. Overall (and I counted) throughout the book's 176 pages, there are 351 large and small photos of bouquets and 71 photos of bouts, corsages, hair flowers, etc. (that doesn't even include the 9 photos on the back and front cover). To see a sample of a few actual pages from the book, look at "See all customer images" in Amazon's photo gallery for this book listing.
The bouquet styles, colors, and floral combinations pictured are current and not outdated like in many other wedding books that are still on bookstore shelves, and the majority of bouquets shown are in the highly popular "hand-tied" style. No price references are given in the book, but as a professional florist I can tell that a wide range of price points are represented. That's helpful so brides can see examples of beautiful bouquets in a variety of price ranges, including those that best fit their budget. Since purchasing the book, every client I've shown the book to has bookmarked an average of 7-15 bouquets they absolutely love, and the majority have selected a photo from this book for either their exact bouquet(s) or as a starting point for designing their bouquet(s). I cannot say enough good things about this book and how truly helpful it has been for my clients.
One of the handiest features of the book is that it is organized by bouquet colors and feeling (such as Traditional, Fresh, Vibrant, Stately, Feminine, etc), and that has been extremely helpful as well as a time saver for my wedding/bridal clients. Although the book's cover photo isn't the most eye-catching (and does the book a huge injustice as many people do truly judge a book by it's cover) and the book's publisher isn't one of the powerhouse publishers that gets a lot of promotion or hype in the big bridal magazines, don't let either of those things fool you about what's inside of this book. There are more bouquet photos in this book than any other I've ever seen, the photography is nice, and the book's paper is weighty, high quality, and durable so it makes a great reference book. I highly recommend this to both brides and fellow florists who are looking for a a wide variety of bouquet colors and styles in one, comprehensive photo reference book.

A really great book to get ideas for your bridal bouquet. I looked for something like this for my own wedding, but the only
books available showed a couple dozen different bouquets or were how-to's (NOT for me!). This book shows hundreds and hundreds
of different bouquets. You will absolutely find the bouquet style you want in this book. Dividing it by color was the best
choice since that is how brides choose flowers - at least I did. I bought it to help my sister choose her bouquet and that
of her attendants, but now the hard part is choosing from so many really beautiful pictures. Really fun to see this many bouquets
in one book.

Just bought this book because of the previous reviews. What a mistake. I've been doing highend weddings for 15 years and
this stuff is sloppy and tacky. Lot's of photos but I think I counted 5 that I wouldn't be ashamed of.
