This binder has been very helpful for keeping things neat during this crazy planning time. Every time I meet with a vendor they always comment on how organized I must be. The pictures and checklists in the binder are helpful, but most things you can easily find online. The included hole-puncher is super helpful for immediately hole-punching contracts!

i love the content. useful and well organized. i wish the pockets had a way to keep the documents from falling out. the book was slightly damaged (torn on spine) from amazon. given the price savings from storefronts, the damage is no big deal.

I found this book online and really liked it, and I actually checked it out in a bookstore before buying it on amazon (which saved me $10!) It's high quality with a sturdy cover and thick divider pages with pockets on either side to hold things. I really like that it has a bunch of pictures, but they're all in one section in the front, so they're not in the way. The hole punch (which works even though it's not super-fancy) and three ring binder have allowed me to add and remove things as I want. I've taken it with me to meet with vendors, and they've all said that the questions in it are great questions to ask. I think the cover is cute, too! I would definitely recommend this to someone who wants helpful tips and information in a pre-organized binder that they can customize.

I also like that you can insert your own pages or folders to keep all your wedding related documents in one place... I highly recommend this book!

A good building block for the bride and florist to get ideas of colour schemes and styles the bride might like. I took my copy into to Tafe(Technical and Further Education) and ended up ordering another three copys for fellow students.

Each section of this book is categorized by colors, starting with white, ivory and cream, then yellow, then peach and orange, then red, then pink, then lilac and purple, and finally mixed and unusual. I knew my colors right off the bat but I still was inspired by every page. It's only real flaw is it's size, which once you get it and look through it, doesn't create that much of an issue. Not only does it give you flower ideas but also a variety of ways to create a handle and tie the bouquet. A good book for a bride who is doing all the arranging, like I am, or just brainstorming ideas with her florist.

As a professional special event florist who specializes in weddings, this is another book I keep in my consultation room for brides to browse and reference. I'm partial to design books that contain a lot of photos so this one earns high marks from me, but the drawbacks are it's size (small, which means the photos are also small) and that it's a paperback so it doesn't hold up to wear and repeat usage like a hardbound book. Most of the designs are current and contemporary, which is nice after seeing so many outdated wedding design books from the 80's and 90's still on bookstore shelves, but some of the designs lack "that certain something" that make the bouquets really stand out and personalized to the bride. As a designer I'm never super excited about anything cookie-cutter (see cover photo as an example) because it can easily become a crutch for clients who aren't confident making floral selections and also a crutch for florists who don't want to spend the quality time needed for a proper consultation. However, if used as an initial reference for size, shape, and to build designs from, the book will certainly provide that and a bit more. Based on what I've observed from brides browsing and using this book during consultations at my location, easy-to-please brides usually find a few styles in the book that they like, but fussier brides browse through the book quickly (rarely stopping on any one style) and move on to other books. It is a nice little book for the price though -- quality photography and an overall good value.

I loved the first two Little Lady Agency books and this one was a disappointment. It took a little while to get moving, but the main downer was how it ended up romantically. Don't read further if you do not want to be spoiled.... I would have been happy if she had gotten back with Jonathan or even wound up with the prince, but she winds up with Nelson, her roommate. He has spent most of the series tilting his nose up and looking down on everyone. He comes across and prissy and snobby. I don't see how Melissa would fall for someone like this. There's zero chemistry felt through the pages and all of a sudden we're supposed to realize this guy is her romantic equal? Towards the end of the book, she all of a sudden think he's hot. Huh? It also doesn't help that there was not much character development of the person throughout the whole series. I would recommend stopping after the second book.
Good read with some interesting developments for Melissa

I have read all three in the series and I have yet to lose interest. Melissa is very funny especially when she misses the double entendres that run throughout the story line. I found Melissa's father very funny in this book because his usual rather overbearing demeanor is softened with the surprise arrival of Emery's son. The picture that Hester Browne paints of the awful MP, Martin Romney-Jones carrying the newest member of the Romney-Jones family in a baby pouch on his chest, softens and comically endears Melissa's father to the reader. That being said I was very surprised and found somewhat unbelievable the twist in the story with Jonathon becoming overbearing and downright callous towards Melissa. He was not portrayed that way with Melissa in the prior novels. I just felt that his character portrayal from Melissa's champion to overbearing fiance did not ring true. However, the storyline wiil keep you reading and keep you laughing.
Stop at the 2nd book if you started the series

You are all excited about Melissa and Jonathon. The love she seemed to feel about him, the way he looked at her, touched her. Then the author pulled the rug out from under you and made them terrible. DO NOT READ THIS BOOK. It was hard to get through it. Boring. Don't waste your money.

For all devotees of light, funny chick lit, this is for you to enjoy, laugh, giggle and generally feel better about themselves. Melissa is a well born Londoner, a former debutante with marvellous connections to all the right places and who knows virtually everyone. A product of finishing schools, she can cook, sew and straighten out any louche young man with her strict regime of good manners, dress sense and general common sense, so when she is asked to turn a playboy prince into a responsible heir to the throne of a tiny European country, she does just that. When you feel in the mood for a light, funny read, this is just for you!

How to Open and Operate a Wedding Planning Business was very well organized and easy to read. The sections were broken down from writing a business plan, the importance of marketing, business law, and what kind of individual based on their personality is likely to succeed in the business. The information was very easy to read, honest, and to the point, focusing on the ins and outs of opening and creating a successful wedding planning business.
There were several case studies that describe the success or downfall of specific wedding planning organizations and planning opportunities. After reading the book, I felt I had a great amount of knowledge about how to successfully plan, open, operate, and create a thriving business; starting from writing a business plan, to successfully financing my business and reaching all of my goals.

The rather lengthy title seems like a mouthful, but it does aptly describe the information you'll find within the ten chapters. Also included are helpful appendixes that are critical to those in the wedding planning business. Within the appendix section, you'll discover a list of wedding shows held in states throughout the U.S., seating plans and sample menus.
Planning even a simple wedding can be a vexing task to a bride and groom, and many are turning to wedding consultants to help them avoid the stress that comes with planning and organizing their dream day. It's a solid business idea for the motivated person.
The addition of photographs, charts and sample contracts or documents helps keep the reader from being bogged down in information. Rather than throwing a bunch of information out there, the author uses real charts and documents to back up his information. These eye-catching images keep the reader's interest from start to finish.
The book opens with a list of qualities that a person needs to succeed in the wedding planning business, a quiz to see if you have what it takes and a list of contacts that are critical to the business. From there he covers many important topics, you shouldn't pick and choose what you read because every page is packed with crucial tips. You'll learn how to design your own Web site, even using free online software to help cut business costs! He covers funding your business venture, expenses you should expect and marketing tips.
If you are going to be requesting a business loan, you'll need a business plan. Peragine's guide includes business plan samples to get you started. Chapters also cover taxes, tax paperwork and insurance plans and coverage. You'll find tips and recommended programs for becoming a certified wedding consultant. Towards the end of the book, the author includes "Case Studies" where established wedding consulting business owners share tips and advice.
Owning your own business also comes with challenges. John Peragine's business guide is critical because it covers more than planning a wedding. He covers the more important aspects of insurance, taxes and financial planning. While many dream of being their own boss, they often overlook these troublesome business matters that are essential to running a successful business.
To me, this is what makes his guide stand out. "How-to" books are often filled with details on a specified business, but items like taxes and insurance coverage are glossed over. Not here! The author does cover these items thoroughly ensuring that those interested in the career are definitely prepared for all aspects of their new business. If a career in wedding planning appeals to you, start by reading John Paregine's business guide.

This book has absolutely everything you need to get started in the wedding consultant & planning field. I absolutely loved how interactive it was! With charts, quizzes, and sample forms this book helped me get a better picture of what was involved. It covered everything from choosing the company name and developing a business plan to putting together my first events!
Best of all, it was easy to read - just like talking to a friend who had already been through this process and was now guiding me! Everything was laid out in a conversational style with plenty of samples and case studies to help me really understand the information.
Peragine has such great tips for starting a business, I would definitely recommend his book to anyone who was interested in starting their own service industry business, even if it wasn't wedding related!

Weddings from the Heart was just OK...I'm planning a wedding and looking for different ideas for vows and readings - and this book just wasnt' for me. I earmarked a few pages - but not many. One book that was INCREDIBLE was "the knot guide to weddings vows and traditions"! Great book with TONS of ideas - i earmarked a TON of pages here. I was reluctant to get it at first just b/c it was "the knot" - even though they are the so called "wedding guru's"...you know....I just thought others might have other insightful advice....well, not so...trust me - save your money and just go buy the knot's guide - it was the best! (at least for me!)

Most of this book was irrelevant for what I wanted. I was looking for a source for religiously-oriented vows, prayers, and blessings which I could use to create an ecumenical wedding service. This book DOES have a section of such things --and I did find it useful for comparison purposes-- but the main emphasis is on contemporary vows, addresses, etc., most of which seemed just too fluffy for me. If you do want very emotionally-laden, "unique to you" and non-traditional wedding, go for this. If you seriously want to compare weddings from different Judeo-Christian traditions, I highly recommend _Weddings: A Complete Guide to All Religious and Interfaith Marriage Services_ instead.

Ms. Kingma gives engaged couples excellent advice and options over the traditional ceremonies. She includes examples for divorced couples, couples with children, couples who want to honor other family members and friends, even couples who have been through abuse and addictions to find love. Also given are wedding traditions and readings from around the world that brides and grooms can incorporate into their personally tailored ceremony.
If you truly want a wedding from your heart, with vows that truly bind, then this book is for you. The suggested ceremonies can be tinkered with and tailored to your taste and honor your personal beliefs. Thanks, Ms. Kingma, for reading the hearts of engaged couples everywhere! We're using this book for our own wedding this year, and I just can't praise it enough.

After reading Bussen's "Simple Stunning Weddings", which was full of wonderful ideas and beautiful floral designs, I decided to get this book as well. On it's own, I probably would have really enjoyed it and found it to be useful. However, after reading the other, I found it to be filled with more or less the same suggestions and not nearly as informative or inspiring. I'd recommend getting her "Simple Stunning Weddings" instead.

I bought this book as a gift for my mother, who is as excited as I am about my upcoming wedding. I had hoped that I could use it to help us figure out our roles in planning the event. I read the book myself before giving it to her, however, and decided to sell it instead of give it. I found the advice on primping, shopping, and party-planning was impractical for me; more suited to a trendy socialite and Mom, than a practical girl who loves the soulful simple life.

I recently purchased Wedding Planning and Management: Consultancy for Diverse Clients. I have to say that I am truly impressed with the books content. Over the past years I have purchased every wedding planning & business start-up book imaginable. This book is the only book you will need to not only plan a wedding, but also start and run a wedding management business. This book covers every aspect of the wedding, wedding planning industry, and much much more. As a former student, and now the business owner of Exceeding Expectations Wedding & Event Management Company, this book is my number one resource for running my event planning business, and number one reference guide to all things related to weddings. From the charts, case scenarios (which I absolutely love!), photos and everything in between, the book is very well written and put together. The authors truly did an amazing job, you won't be disappointed! Money well spent! Congratulations on a job well done!

My fiancee and I were planning an interfaith ceremony, and rather than find a rabbi or priest willing to marry us, we decided to have our non-denominationally ordained Aunt officiate. However, because she wasn't familiar with jewish traditions, we had to write our own ceremony - no easy task! But, this book simplifies the process by including many examples of interfaith marriage, and then a choice of readings and passages for each section of the wedding. My one concern would be that it only addresses interfaith marriages between jews and christians, but does not address interfaith ceremonies between jews, christians, hindus, buddhists, muslims, etc. However, that aside, I HIGHLY recommend this book if you are writing your own ceremony.
Great resource!

I am a Catholic woman marrying a Jewish man. We were very fortunate that my priest was supportive of our marriage and provided me with the standard Catholic booklet outlining the typical components of a Catholic wedding. But we were being married outside of the traditional mass and wanted to include my fiancé's Jewish heritage as well. The rabbi we were working with suggested this book. It is a great tool to help in the planning process. Rabbi Lerner provides an explanation of various traditions, gives a few sample outlines and then includes an appendix with various wording for each part of the ceremony. I could not have planned the Jewish half of our ceremony without this book!

This was a very helpful book with information about laws and culture that help make the ceremony inclusive and comfortable for families of different faiths. I highly recommend this book; I bought it for our children who will be getting married in the spring.
A great resource

This book was great at providing structure and helping us understand our options when we wrote our own wedding ceremony (a Jew marrying a Catholic, with sensitivity to the pagans and atheists/agnostics attending). We lent our copy to two couples we know who got married after us (a nonpracticing Jew marrying a nonpracticing Christian; and a Jew marrying a Catholic/Quaker). I know that each of them has passed on the favor to at least one other couple, who also used it in their ceremonies. Anyone writing their own ceremony would get some value out of it, whether interfaith or not, though of course it is most specifically targeted to the Jewish/Christian union. We also supplemented with books specific to each of the religions we wanted to include, but I found this this book to be the best "how-to" of them all.
A terrific resource - made my life so much easier! And a beautiful wedding.

I was asked to officiate for my brother (who grew up Jewish) and his fiance (who grew up Protestant), as neither of them are religious, but wanted to have a wedding that both families would feel comfortable with. After getting ordained online, I had a huge challenge ahead of me - how to do something beautiful, personal, and would make everyone happy. Well, this book did it for me! It's about 1/3 explanations on wedding ceremonies and things to be aware of that could be sensitive to either side, 1/3 sample ceremonies, and 1/3 a whole bunch of suggested pieces/readings/explanations under each ceremony component - 7 ideas you could use here, 4 ideas here... It made creating their ceremony a breeze, eliminating many of the expected arguments/discussions, and led to a beautiful ceremony. Thanks Rabbi Lerner!!!

Great book! Only one problem: the language can be a bit hard to understand. The book was originally published in the UK, so it is understandable that some words and phrases went over my head, but very good none-the-less!
Enjoyable!

Very cute book, but be warned... This is the same book (with a different title) as "Asking For Trouble" by the same author.
Disappointed having seen the movie first

I bought this book after seing the wonderful movie for the 6th or 7th time. I was waiting expectantly for it to arrive from amazon only to get disappointed soon... As all previews reviews have stated, the only similarity between the book and the movie is that a single girl hires an escort to act as her boyfriend at her sister's marriage somewhere in england and they fall in love.
For one I prefered the storyline I saw on the screen (but that's a personal preference). But what I seriously disliked is the way the writer expressed herself. It just seemed as if she was trying too hard. Trying to hard to appear modern, hip, fun and empathetic to those overweight girls outhere, when judging by the book cover the writer is neither young/modern or overweight. The result being all those abbreviations that drove most people nuts -I seriously doubt that if I go any party/bar and ask for a V&T everyone is guaranteed to understand what I mean- and the overuse (or perhaps abuse) of the words cow, pig, piglet. It seemed more like a lack of imagination or creativity than modernism to me. The dialogues didn't flow effortlessly, the humour was rather forced than witty (i.e. Josh:I like curvy women; Sophy: you're calling me fat???).
In short: nice idea, bad writing style. A good editor could have erased all those "cows" and upgraded it to a 4 star rating. Not a bad read, I did finish it in 4-5 days which is soon when you have a work and 2 small kids, but felt like a waste of time afterwards. I just don't think anyone is likely to sympathize with Sophy or her family while reading this book. And when I don't care for the protagonists, it usually means I don't care for the book as well.
For those of you who are new to chick lit; there are better authors out there. Shophie Kinsella, Marian Keyes, Jill Mansell, Emily Giffin are a good start.

Great book! It made me go out and buy all Elizabeth Young's other novels. I have reread them all waiting impatiently for the next one to come out! I love the humour and the personalities. The best of the Brits - I think.
What a great read!

I adored this book. It had me laughing and frustrated and I never wanted to put it down. I loved the characters and how vivid their surroundings were. I was quickly brought into Sophy's world and was just as curious about Josh as she was. She was a lovely character, quite real and I found I had things in common with her, which is a plus in a novel. Elizabeth Young had a certain knack for modern romance with humorous twists. In the end it left me sad to put the book down...for good???
A great summer read that'll have you laughing out loud.
